Unable to move app icons from home page, on my iPad, to another.

It seems to only move apps when I hold it in landscape view. I've Just received the iPad back, after sending it off to apple to be fixed. It would open apps by itself, freeze and be generally unresponsive.

Try a reset and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't help, I'm not sure what Apple might have repaired since they generally replace devices rather than repair them, but I would question them and see if they can help. They may have replaced your iPad with a "bad" device.

  • I am unable to move app icons from one screen to the next, after 2.1

    Can any one verify this?
I have restarted the phone, just in case and the behavior continues.
While on the subject, it would be nice if Apple could supply a MAC interface for rearranging the iPhone screens as it is not much fun on the phone itself.

Figured it out last night. it does work but you now have to kind of over along the boder before it jusmps over. I am pretty sure that before it sufficed to push the icon to the border in order to move it over.
I guess this new way is better as you really need to want to move it in order to switch screens.

  • How do I move an app icon from one page to another?

I would like to organize my Ipad2 but can figure out how to move the app icon from one page to another.

Tap and hold down on an app icon until it wiggles. Then hold down on the icon and drag it about halfway over to the next screen and just hold it there for a second or two and the app will jump to the next page. Do it slowly and just hold the app on the edge of the screen. Don't try to drag it over quickly. It takes a little practice.
Tap the home button when you are done and the apps will stop wiggling.

  • Unable to move apps to first screen page

For some reason I suddenly have been unable to move my apps to the first page of the iPad screen. I've made sure there was an extra space, even though I am trying to add an app to an existing folder. But even after moving the folder to the second page, adding the new app to that folder, I cannot move the folder back to the first page. Very frustrating.

Sometimes the feature is a bit persnickety, but if you patiently hold the app or folder against the edge of the page it should eventually slide to the next page.
If not try a reset. Press & Hold the Power and Home buttons together 10+ seconds until the iPad restarts. Ignore the red power off slider.

  • Move an icon from one page to another on iphone 5

I restored my camera, but now it is on a page by itself & does not respond to the usual drag & drop method of moving it to the page where I want it. Can you help?

Thanks! Hmmm...I have never tried it in iTunes because I do not want my music to automatically load to my phone. So, I guess this brings up 2 questions: will my music automatically load? And is it pretty obvious how to arrange the icons through itunes? Thanks!

  • Unable to move or copy from one library to another

    Hi All,
I am unable to move my documents from one share point document library to another. I open both the libraries in Explorer view and try moving or copying. But i am getting this below message. please see below image.

    1.         What’s the size of the folder you need to move? Is it larger that 50MB?
    2.         What’s the version of operation system you are using? Is it Windows Server 2003 or Vista or XP?
If the answer is yes, please try to copy and paste a file which has smaller size to see if it will work. If it works, you can refer to this KB http://support.microsoft.com/kb/900900
to modify the registry keys to solve the problem
    1.         Click “Start”, click “Run”, type “regedit”, and then click “OK”.
    2.         Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters
    3.         In the right pane, right-click the “FileSizeLimitInBytes” value, and then click “Modify”.
If you cannot see the “FileSizeLimitInBytes” value, right-click the blank space in the right pane, click “New”, click “DWORD Value”, type “FileSizeLimitInBytes”, and then click “OK”.
    4.         In the “Edit DWORD” Value box, click to select the “Decimal” option. In the box under “Value data”, type a value that is larger than the size of the file that you want to download. Click OK.
Note: The default value for the file size limit is 50000000 bytes.
    5.         Quit Registry Editor. Restart the computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Clock / Weather block on home screen & how to move apps/icons

How do you change this block?  I don't want the background it came with.  Also, how do you move icons from screen to screen?  Thanks, brand new to this phone.

The block is a widget so you can long press it and drag it to the little trash that appears at the bottom of the screen if you want to remove it from the screen. Same thing with any of the app icons. To move the icons from one screen to another, just long press the icon and drag it to its new place. Hope that helps.

  • How do I combine my app icons on fewer pages?

ow do I combine my app icons on fewer pages?

Hold down on one of the apps until they all begin to jiggle, then move them with your finger where you want them. If you want to combine apps into folders, drag an app on top of another. You can name the folder whatever you like. Then you can move the folders around the same way.

  • HT1766 On an iPhone 5, Is there an easy way to move app icons as a group? instead of one by one?

On an iPhone 5, Is there an easy way to move app icons as a group? instead of one by one?

If you have a bunch of apps on one screen yunwantnto move to another as a group, create a folder by holding your finger on ne app until all the icons start shaking and show and "x" in the top left corner of the icon. Press again and don't lift your finger; move that icon with your finger over one of the other icons you want to add to the folder, which will create a folder. Then you can move the other apps you want to move into that folder. When you have all the apps you want to move into that folder, close the folder by tapping on the screen outside the folder. The icons should still be shaking. Then press on the folder you want to move and slide it to the edge of the screen, left or right, until the folder moves to the next screen. Once you get it to the screen of choice, you can leave the apps in that folder or move them out by the same process. When you are done moving things around, press the Home button and the icons will stop shaking. Now they will stay put.
Alternatively,my can sync your device with iTunes and move the icons around in the Apps windows in iTunes, then re-sync your device after you're finished. That will rearrange your icons on the device.
    Good luck!
