Well, you marked this topic as solved which I guess it isn't really.
You need to transfer the library with which you originally synced the phone to the new computer. A phone will only sync to the original library or it will offer to erase the phone for syncing with a new library.
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to choose a library, then select the copied iTunes folder.

i am currently on the osx 5.8 operating system. I just downloaded the new iphone 5 software and cannot sync it with my itunes on this computer because it doesn't have the most current version of itunes which i discovered i cannot download without an iosx oeprating system. I have run software update 10 times, started and restarted the computer and the program. help! what do i need to do to switch over to the ios-x operating system....or whatever the most current version is called. if i have to pay for it, that's fine. i have just been routed and rerouted through the apple store trying to figure it out. can someone help me please!

There are two different things here, an OS update and a software update.
Mac OS X 10.5 is the version of OS while the .8 at the end is the software update (release patches)
The most current software update for Mac OS X 10.5 is 10.5.8
No more software updates available. You would need to upgrade the OS, which would be to Mac OS X 10.6
Your new iPhone 5 would require iTunes 10.6 which is only available for OS X version 10.6.8 or later.
Your would therefore need to upgrade your Macbook to this version of OS.
It maybe brought on DVD via Apple directly (Contact Apple ) or using any good online vendor like Amazon.

I still have the old iPhone 3G and will be upgrading to the new iPhone 5. I also recently got a virus on my computer which made me buy a new one and now I have to download iTunes to this new PC. My iTunes in completely empty... I want to transfer all my music and pictures to my iTunes so I can then Sync my new phone. Can someone please provide me some input for a solution?
Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book application on your computer, which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Select the same under the Info tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync and the contacts in the supported address book application on your computer which are also available on your iPhone will be transferred to your iPad.
Photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. After the photos are imported by your computer and placed in a designated folder or album on your computer, select this album or folder under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes along with any other photos on your computer that you want transferred to your iPad followed by a sync. -
BlackBerry Link won't sync Music and Pictures with Mac
Blackberry Link 1.2.1.18 for Mac won't sync pictures or music with my BlackBerry 10 Device. Contacts and Calendars sync fine but Music and Pictures pretend like they are syncing but then just stops with no error or warning. Im using the latest versions of iTunes and iPhoto... None of my Music is protected and all my Photos are just regular JPG in an iPhoto Library. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BB OS 10.2.1.2977No luck. I tried with iTunes and iPhoto closed and it says it's syncing... then after some random amount of time iTuens opens for no reason and stays open. iPhoto will also open and then quickly close. I don't have iCloud set in iPhoto. Tonight I tried the whole process with my WiFi turned off on my laptop, which is my only Internet connection. It moved along for a little bit, and then just stops. ALL my music files are standard MP3, so I have no clue why it doesn't work. Im trying to copy everything use USB Storage mode now, just so I can have stuff on my phone. Surely BlackBerry can fix this? I've seen other people also having lots of issues with BlackBerry Link.

How to put current music and pictures from my Iphone to a new Ipad?
Hi this is my first question!
I am about to recieve a new iPad mini. I currently have an iPhone 4s and I want to transfer all my pictures and music over to the new device. I have just backed up my phone so that all latest files are on my PC. I have tried iCloud but this is out because my internet is too rubish.
So what should I do?
1. if i set the iPad up using the iTunes backup, everything will go on to the iPad that I have on the phone including the apps, which im not bothered about because I will be using less apps than before.
2. If I set it up as a new iPad, can I connect it to my PC and get my music and pictures/videos over to the device without everything else.
I know this sounds confusing but I don't know what to do, I asked in the Apple store and they didn't seem to know either,
cheers, DavidYou can restore the iPhone's backup onto the iPad, but that won't include the contents of the Music app nor the photos if they were originally synced from a computer (if they were taken with the phone they should be included) - restoring a backup onto a diferrent device also won't copy passwords (router, email, website) so you will need to re-enter them on the iPad. You can copy your iTunes purchases (including apps and music) from the iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) - if you do decide t backup/restore then you will need all of the iPhone's apps on your computer's iTunes as the backup only contains their content and settings, and not the apps themselves.
If you set it up as a new iPad then as long as the music and apps are on your computer's iTunes then you can sync them over to it. iTunes will remember you sync preferences for each device, so you can sync more than one device to it without them affecting each other.
You can copy the photos and videos that you've take with the phone to your computer : photos to a computer.
And you can then sync them to the iPad : syncing photos. -
My daugther' iphone apple id is under my wife's email and now all music and pictures are attached to that id. My wife now has an ipad and I am looking at using the existing id during set up? Thus, I would like to establish new apple id for daughter, associated to her email account, however I do not want to lose or share her music/photos, nor share with my wife's id. Is this possible, or is it best just to establish a new id for my wife, and then change the email address associated with the existing apple id?
well if you establish a new apple id for your wife that would be best unless you email all of the existing photos to your email and then when you have established a new id then you log into your email on the new id and save all of your pics onto it by pressing on tthe pic for about 5-8 seconds then options will come up and you press the save to my album ..as for the music if you can copy and paste, through computer, the songs then awesome!

For photos taken with the phone then on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard, and on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto or Aperture : copying photos. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer. -

Do you have the computer working again? If so, sync the iPhone to the computer, and in iPhoto it should show up as a 'camera' and you can import the photos from there. You can also open iTunes and transfer the music from the iPhone to your iTunes library.

My old laptop crashed. I bought a new one, but when I loaded itunes and plugged in my ipad 2, it only added the songs that were purchased in the itunes store. I upgraded my os to 5.0 and it deleted all of my songs, a lot of my apps, and all of my pictures except for the ones on the camera roll. I have these pictures and songs on my itouch 2nd generation but I can't get it to synch with the new computer. All of the solutions I have seen online don't work. I can't upgrade to the newest operating system because it is only 2nd generation. I tried turning on Home sharing and saving to the cloud, but I can't get it to work on the itouch. Please help!
I don't have a backup copy of my old computer. I bought an external hard drive and it said it backed up, but when I plugged it into my new computer, it was empty. My old computer is not accessible. i had problem for my itunes wifi sync, in general setting itunes wifi sync, i got 2 folder name 1st one is one i want sync for app, movie,music and tones, somehow i got second one folder i dont want is photos only when plug into it only sync for photo the rest are gone on itunes screen and not sync, please help me how can i delete second one folder? i tried click on first one not moved and syns only sync on second one folder

iTunes prefs > Store > Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
This will show all your iTunes purchases in your library with a cloud icon down arrow. Click the icon to redownload or click on Play to stream without downloading.

and techncially, you don't "own" the movie, You simply have a license to use it.
Yet the first thing iTunes does when you hit the delete key is tell you that it will remove the movie forever from all devices and the library.

FYI: You should keep copies of all yoru iTnue spurahses as the labels/movie studios/copyright owners can pull their product at anytime and it won't be available to redownload.

Cannot go to iTunes store using my iPhone 6 plus. I click on App Store and it opens up iTunes U. Even when I open iPhones video app and try to purchase a movie which is suppose to take me to iTunes store, it instead opens up iTunes U. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..
There isn't currently any music, films or TV programmes available in the South Korean store, so you will only see iTunes U in the iTunes store app. You can't use the US store unless you are in the US, you have to be in a country to use its store (that is in the Store's terms) - so whilst you are in South Korea you can only use the South Korean store.
Are there other music purchase download sites in South Korea that you could use ? You can also copy your CDs via your computer's iTunes -

So that's why you cannot access them, and all the pictures that are taken are still there but not accessable from your phone.
You will have to plug it into another computer that hasn't been infected by this virus and explore through the BlackBerry files, whether its saved in your Memory card or your device data, after you have found all of them make a new folder in the desktop and move them all to the computer, after doing that you will have to reset your device os so that everything is actually a folder again, then you can move the photos back and your media, you can then take photos again.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
