Unable to move pictures into albums via iPhone

the past few months i have not been able to move pictures from my camera roll into albums via my iphone...the albums show up, but they are not selectable. i have restored my phone, purchaced OS Lion, and have all my software up to date, and still nothing....can anyone help?

You can place a Camera Roll photo in a user created photo album on the iPhone only. You cannot place a Camera Roll photo in an album transferred from your computer. You do that on your computer followed by a sync.

Unable to move photos between albums in search mode

I am unable to move picture between albums when I have done a search for a title etc. eg. search for 'Leeds' brings up 20 pics one album and 15 in another, but the two albums are several years apart (possibly 100's of rolls!).
Why am I unable to then drag the pics from one roll to another? Is this a known issue? Very annoying when dealing with various project over various years and the only way is to drag the pics all the way down, often getting lost!!

You may be able to do it as follows:
1 - assign a unique keyword to each of those files. Something like "AAAAAAAA" will stand out when you're looking for it.
2 -set the view options to View keywords only.
3 - set the sort option to sort by keyword.
4 - now look for that unique keyword, select them all and create a new roll. To see the new roll you'll have to reset rolls to be viewed.
If there are more than one keyword for those photos, the the first keyword assigned to that photo will determine where it falls in the listing of photos. So it's best if there are no keywords other than the unique one.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Can't move photos into albums

Hi there,
ever since I upgraded to iPhoto '09 I can't seem to move photos into albums that I am editing.
When viewing the photos in "normal" list mode there is no problem to move them into an album. I grab the photo, drag it onto the album and a green plus sign appears indicating that it is possible to add the photo. When I drop it and check, the photo is indeed inside the album as it should.
When I double click the photo to go into edit mode I see the enlarged photo and a strip of photos running along the upper edge. This is just like in iPhoto '08. It used to be that I could grab photos in that strip and drag them to an album. When I do this now the green plus sign does appear just as before, which makes me think that I can indeed add it to the album. However, when I check the album the photo is not there.
Is this a bug? Is it some preference that I can set?

A photo in the Camera Roll cannot be in an album unless the photo remains in the Camera Roll. Photos in an album or not duplicated. A photo in an album includes a pointer to the original photo stored in the Camera Roll. The Camera Roll is for temporary storage. Photos/videos can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
The Camera Roll is included with your iPhone's backup. If your iPhone's backup has been updated to include all photos that were in the Camera Roll and has not been updated since the photos were deleted, you can try restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup. Do not update your iPhone's backup before doing so and decline the prompt to update your iPhone's backup as the first step after selecting Restore.

Unable to Re-Setup Airport Express via iPhone or OSX

Hi, folks —
Am temporarily in a friend's house and want to reconfigure my airport express for music playback. Have never had issues with the AE before, but I can't get it configured — either via iphone or imac.
I have my iMac and iPhone 5s both on my friend's wifi network. I have factory reset my AE. It is flashing amber.
iPhone 5s (iOs 7.0.3)
The reset AE never appears in the Airport Utility on the iPhone. Internet appears and "No AirPort base stations have been found. Airport Utility will continue searching" is all it shows.
The phone is not connected to any VPN. I've tried this both connected to the friend's wifi network and just on the cellular network (LTE).
OSX Mavericks (all sub-updated installed as of Nov 12)
1. Reset AE appears under "Other Wi-Fi Devices (1)"
2. I select it, and when given the option, I choose "Add to Existing Network" under Other Options.
3. I name the new AE and give it a "test" password.
4. After several apparently successful steps (adding network, configuring, connecting, etc), the iMac itself loses internet connection during the attached screenshot step ("GVTC147650" is the wifi network name). The menu bar wifi turns to a greyed out wifi icon with an exclamation mark.
5. The Utility proceeds to "Waiting for [AE Name]".
6. This times out, leading to a "An unexpected error occurs" message.
At this point, the AE setup is incomplete and my iMac internet connection is broken. I am successfully connected to the wifi network, but told (in the menubar dropdown): "Alert: no internet connection"). The iphone connected to the same network can still access the internet without issue. The only way to solve the latter is to turn off wifi, remove the remembered ssid, and reconnect to it (when I am asked again for the password).
Any thoughts? This is pretty **** annoying. Should be so simple.

The reset AE never appears in the Airport Utility on the iPhone
Did you tap Settings, then tap Wi-Fi, and then tap on the AirPort Express under the heading of Set up a new AirPort Base Station?
Is your friend using WPA2 Personal wireless security on his router/network?
That is what the Express wants to see, and it will not connect to the network if it doesn't. instead, you will see "An unexpected error has occurred" over and over, etc.

Unable to move message into new folder in Mail 3.1

I just added a new folder in Mail, but cannot move a message from my inbox (IMAP) into it. I can move messages into other, older folders, but not into any folders I created today. This is happening with both local and IMAP folders created today.
Any suggestions?

Okay, here's what I find:
My home directory: drwxr-xr-x+ owner=me
~/Library: drwx------+ owner=me
~/Library/Mail: drwx------ owner=me
Continue to the local mailboxes:
~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes: drwx------ owner=me
~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/(top-most level): drwx------ owner=me
~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/(top-most)/(next level): drwx------ owner=me
That gets us to the info I gave previously, which I already fixed using chown.
If we continue to the +remote (IMAP)+ mailbox:
~/Library/Mail/(imap account): drwx------ owner=me
~/Library/Mail/(imap account)/INBOX: drwx------ owner=me
And that again brings us to the level where the original problem was (and the individual directory that I have corrected using chown.)
So I can fix each directory individually using chown, but I'd like to fix the cause.

Unable to move videos taken with the iPhone from the phone to PC

I am having difficulty moving videos from the iPhone to my PC. To be clear, I am talking about videos that were taken using the phone, _NOT videos downloaded to the phone_. I'm on a PC, I am using Scanner and Camera Wizard. I've been able to move videos to my PC in the past with no trouble. Now, the wizard gets to 100% progress, sits there for a full minute or more, then pops up a message saying it could not be copied. I've repeated the process each time getting the same results. This seems to have started after the last OS update. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am having a similar issue with my Mom's iPhone 4. She has a PC. I was able to move the files off the iphone (dragging and dropping them from the folder to the file of photos). However, the issue now is to sync the photos and video (shot from the iphone) from the PC back to the iphone. It says that there isn't enough room to copy the files. There aren't that many photos/videos. When I uncheck the "include videos" it won't let me sync.

Can phots be deleted from the original album if you copy them into another album? they seem to get deleted out of both albums when I try to set up a new album folder.

You'll have to do this in iTunes/photo pane, or in the program you used to create the albums, for example iPhoto if you're using a Mac.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try deleting the Safari preference file, com.apple. Safari.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and see if that will help Safari.

Yosemite agent - session crashes after logging into RDS via iPhone or iPad app

I access RDS primarily through the Mac app, but will occasionally log into a session via iPad or Iphone. Whenever this happens, trying to get back onto that session via Mac results in a distorted screen that is pulled diagonally, only fix is to sign
out of the RDS session on Iphone or iPad, then log in via the remote desktop app on the Mac and sign in to a new session on RDS.
Are there any other fixes for this?

Please try to use MRD v8.1.5 for IPhone and IPad and MRD v8.0.10 for MAC and check the result. If still facing issue you can collect log for further research.
