Hi Gurus,
I have created a Webi report and saved in "My Favourites". But, I am not able to move my Webi report currently saved in "my favourites" folder to "public folders". Please let me know the steps.
Dev

All,
sorry for the delayed response.
I logged into CMC as administrator.
I was able to move the reports to Public Folders there.
Also,
I was able to create the folders I need while in CMC.

  • I get an error when I try to move instances of public folders.

We have exchange 2003 and exchange 2010 setup in a coexistence environment. I get an error when I try to move instances of public folders from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. "Unable to create the required MAPI profile. Please verify that you have
sufficient permissions to write to the MAPISVC.INF file. ID no: c103073a Exchange system Manager." I have checked the permissions on the exchange 2003 server. I am unable to locate the MAPISVC.inf file on the exchange 2010 server. This is the last set
before we begin our move to exchange 2010 and then on to exchange 2013. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Do you mean you get the error like the following one?
An error occurred while trying to establish a connection to the Exchange Server. Be sure that port 443 (for ssl) or port 80 (for non-ssl) can be reached. If you are connecting to the public folders, be sure that the public store is mounted. If you are connecting
to the mailboxes and the progress bar shows particular mailbox. Be sure that the user has at least one email address.
Exception failed to connect using secure URL https://gsfcdp16es/esadmin/admin/nyu.email.gs.com/publicfolders with error.
The underlying connection was closed. Unable to connect to the remove server.
Please check if you can expand PF tree in ESM.
Please make sure SSL is disabled on /ExAdmin and  /Public virtual directory. If possible, you can recreate the ExAdmin virtual directory to check result.

  • Query Reports in Public Folders (No Favorites)

    Hello,
trying to query all Reports in BOXI 3.1 (Webi and Crystals) in public folders and excluding all Reports in the Favorites area ..
Will be Thankfull for any related tipps .. Thanks
This is my Query without limitation for public folders ..
    SELECT  SI_NAME FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_Instance = 'FALSE' and
    SI_KIND IN ('CrystalReport','Webi')
    order by SI_NAME

    hi,
Try to find the CUID of MY Favourites folder in InfoView.
Right Click 'My favourites' -> properties.
Note down the CUID of that folder.
    For e.g. CUID is 'CQESAAAA9FZpPn7XfU2Ust.ltEwspg'
In Query Builder, Type the following query
    SELECT  SI_NAME FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_Instance = 'FALSE' and
    SI_KIND IN ('CrystalReport','Webi')
    and not(SI_PARENT_FOLDER_CUID ='CQESAAAA9FZpPn7XfU2Ust.ltEwspg')
    order by SI_NAME
Now you will get Public folders but not My Favourites.

  • Schedule webi report u2013 report should go under Public Folders in Info View

    Hi Experts,
    Schedule webi report
Destination -> File System u2013 what directory path I should give to move reports under Public Folders?
Is that possible to give the path of Public Folders as Destination directory?
    Regards,
    Sasi

To see the latest instance of a report automatically you can change the default from view to view latest instance.
CMC > Applications > Infoview  and select View the latest successful instance of the object
Then when you double click on the report, it will open the latest instance.
BUT if the report doesn't have an instance, eg only be run manually not via the schedule, the report won't open. You have to right click and select view.
I've seen either here or in another forum that in XI 2 it will automatically open the report if it doesn't have an instance but in XI 3.1 it doesn't.

  • Move Public Folders Database to another Drive on same server - Exchange 2010

Hello all and thanks for your time and expertise.
We recently added a new drive to our Exchange 2010 server.  I've moved all mailboxes including arbitration mailboxes to this new drive (and new mailbox database).  I guess the last remaining step is to move the public folders databse to this new
drive.  I know in the console I can move the database path and the log files path for the public folders database.  Is this all I have to do to move my public folders successfully.
And then once everything is moved - can I safely remove the old mailbox database?
Your help and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

    Mike,
I moved the public folders database and received the following message:
    "Summary: 1 item(s). 1 succeeded, 0 failed.
    Elapsed time: 00:00:16
    Public Folders
    Completed
    Warning:
The task completed successfully, but the database "Public Folders" cannot be restored.
The exception message is "An Active Manager operation failed. Error: The database action failed. Error: Unable to mount database 'Public Folders'.
The database appears to have been mounted at least once since its creation,
but there is no database file at 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Public Folders\Public Folders.edb'. Either recover the database file from a backup,
or mount the database with a new, empty database by using the Mount-Database cmdlet with the -Force parameter.. [Database: Public Folders, Server: *******.***]".
    Exchange Management Shell command completed:
    move-DatabasePath -Identity 'Public Folders' -EdbFilePath 'g:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Public Folders\Public Folders.edb' -LogFolderPath 'g:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Public Folders'
    Elapsed Time: 00:00:16"
I blanked out the server name.
After I clicked off this message I remounted the public folders database and everything relative to the public folders seems to be working fine.  Did this message occur because exchange was trying to mount the public folders database from its old location
and so I can safely move on with my life.  Just wanted to double check with you.
And once everything has been moved from the old mailbox database such as user mailboxes, arbitration mailboxes - can I safely remove the old mailbox database.  Thanks for your help.

  • Exchange 2010 - Decommissioning Exchange 2007 Coexistence and Removal of Public Folders

We are about to decommission exchange 2007, currently in coexistence with Exchange 2010.
We do not want to use ANY public folders in exchange 2010 going forward. Will do this after decom of 2007:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876883(v=exchg.141).aspx
I see this in the outlook connection status in outlook:
I have changed all Exchange 2010 mailbox databases to use a temporary 2010 public folders db named "public1" so that it is not communicating with the 2007 mailbox virtual server. However, the exact same connection status appears after I changed
the 2010 mailbox DBs to use a 2010 public folder db instead of the old 2007.
Question is, is it safe to decom the 2007 environment now? Is it normal to still have a connection to 2007  in "connection status" in outlook when the users mailbox is on a 2010 mailbox db? Is this connection related to public folders or something
else that needs modified before decom?
    Thanks,
    Josh

So, that wasn't the answer. I switched the Public folder DB on each mailbox database to a exchange 2010 server, PF DB, but hadn't actually moved any data from 2007 to 2010.
I didnt realize this is needed when we don't use public folders except for free-busy, default, etc.
What is the correct way to move the default public folders to a 2010 public folder?
I'm using the below URL as a template to migrate this info to a 2010 PF db.
    https://www.simple-talk.com/sysadmin/exchange/upgrade-from-exchange-2007-to-exchange-2010---part-ii/
"The user Public Folders then need to be replicated to the Exchange 2010 Public Folder database as well. It is possible to manually configure
all Public Folders with a new replication partner, but it’s better to use PowerShell scripts that Microsoft delivers with Exchange Server 2010. Open the Exchange Management Shell and navigate to the Scripts directory
by entering the CD $ExScripts command,
    and execute the following script:
    AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 -Server 2007MBX -TopPublicFolder "\"
    -ServerToAdd 2010MBX"
My question is, do I have to do this "3rd step" since I don't think i have any custom "user public folders". Is this the user's free busy that I have to migrate, or is this author referring to custom PF db info?
Do I have to have public folders for free-busy and default exchange services at all in 2010?

  • SBS2003- SBS2011 migration - public folders still replicating...

Doing a SBS2003 to SBS2011 migration using the MS method.  All is going well so far except the public folder replication is taking forever.  I've done all the tricks like increasing the replication priority and limits but it's still going (I think,
anyways, it's hard to tell sometimes).  The public folder instances still shows several pages of folders although about two thirds of the folders have moved so at least it's working (I hope).  A few questions regarding my situation:
    1) Is it OK to execute the "Move all replicas" command in SBS2003 ESE again?  Or should I goto the SBS2011 and try the MoveAllReplicas.ps1 exchange powershell command?
    2) Can I move onto the next steps of moving the OWA and moving the actual mailboxes?  It would save me time if I could just continue and get back to this later.
    3) Any other tips on how to compare the two public folder stores and be sure they all got transferred?
    Thanks.
    -- Al

The replication takes time if you have a lot of public folders. Good you have it working though, since you said most of the folders have moved over.
    1) Yes, it is safe, go ahead. The powershell command in destination doesn't work with the legacy source server as I recall.
    2) Yes, you can move mailboxes and public folders at the same time. Go ahead and proceed and let the PF's replicate in the background
    3) The folders are transferred properly when they disappear from the SBS2003 ESM PF instances. To see the status of the migrated folders in the target server, get a script from here:
http://blog.mikewalker.me/2013/05/exchange-2010-public-folder-replication.html. But the move needs to be initiated and controlled from the source ESM.
    Additional tips:
    - if you think the replication has stalled, you can debug it by enabling logging on the Default SMTP Connector in the target server. If you see replication related messages in the logs, the replication should be working.
    - check that the target message size limits (in SMTP connector and in database) are not preventing the replication if you have large items in your PF database
    - sometimes the values in the source server PF replication settings are blank. Set default values + always run if that is the case
    - sometimes it helps with some folders that won't move, if you go to destination server EMC and mail disable them.
    - redoing "move all replicas" and a reboot of the source helps occasionally too

  • Users unable to create or delete folders in migrated public folders using Outlook

We have an Exchange 2013 CU3 environment migrated from Exchange 2007.
The public folder migration was completed over the weekend.
The environment has several public folder mailboxes.
Post migration users are unable to create/delete new sub folders,  or modify permissions using Outlook on any of the migrated public folders.  Users can however create new top level folders using outlook. They can also create and delete new posts
    in migrated public folders.
Admins are able to create folders and set permissions on migrated folders using the EAC.
Test User accounts used for testing are set to use the Primary Hierarchy mailbox as their default public folder mailbox.
Test Users have been given Owner permissions from the root down on the folders we are testing with.
We have tested with Outlook 2010 and 2013 getting the same "Cannot create the folder" error.

    Further testing
We moved a top level folder from a secondary PF mailbox to the primary PF mailbox using the New-PublicFolderMoveRequest command in powershell.
After the move completed we could create new folders under the moved top level folder.
The top level folder that was moved had it's own sub-folders that we did not move to the primary mailbox. (We didn't move the whole branch.. Just the top level folder)
We still cannot create or modify the existing sub-folders after moving the top level folder.
We then moved the newly created sub-folder to a secondary PF mailbox.
At that point we could no longer create sub-folders in the folder form outlook.
From what I can tell you can only create new sub-folders in folders homed to the primary PF mailbox when using outlook.
Is this a bug or as designed?
According to this Tech ed presentation Clients connecting to a secondary PF mailbox should have folder changes proxy to the primary PF mailbox.. (See slide 10)
    http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/TechEd/NorthAmerica/2013/OUC-B329#fbid=
    Update : 2-5-2014
Not much new to report other than it appears that users need to be homed to the primary PF mailbox to delete calendar meetings.
Opened a ticket with Premier support.
    Update 2-11-2014
Premier support continues to look into the issue. No ideas as to the cause yet.
    2-24-13
Still no resolution from support or even a clue what is causing this.

  • Manually Move Public Folders from Exchange 2010 to 2013

    Hi all,
I have a issue to finishing my migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013, I have been trying to migrate my Public folders but always after a couple hours, the migration state is failed.
The final error is the following:
    FailureCode                      : -2146233088
    FailureType                      : SourceMailboxAlreadyBeingMovedPermanentException
    FailureSide                      :
Message                          : Error: Couldn't switch the mailbox into Sync Source mode.
This could be because of one of the following reasons:
                                         Another administrator is currently moving
    the mailbox.
                                         The mailbox is locked.
                                         The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication
service (MRS) doesn't have the correct
                                       permissions.
Network errors are preventing MRS from cleanly
    closing its session with the
Mailbox server. If this is the case, MRS may continue
    to encounter this error for
up to 2 hours - this duration is controlled by the TCP
    KeepAlive settings on the
                                       Mailbox server.
Wait for the mailbox to be released before attempting
    to move this mailbox again.
So, after seeing this I started to monitoring all process and I realized that after creating hierarchy the process start to fail and keep in StalledDueMailboxlock status, and the error is:
    FailureCode                      :
    FailureType                      :
    FailureSide                      :
Message                          : Informational: The request has been temporarily postponed because the mailbox is
locked. The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service
    will attempt to continue
processing the request after 2/14/2015 12:38:20 PM.
Finally, digging more into reports of migration I  found this:

So, would like to know if exist any procedure to migrate/move my Public Folders from Exchange 2010 to 2013 manually, something like Export/Import.
    Regards!

What script and process you are running to migrate the Public Folders?
And what do you mean by Manually?

  • Unable to Manage custom forms in Exchange 2013 Public Folders or Organizational Forms Library

We've been doing custom forms development for many years and many versions of Exchange.  This Exchange 2013 presented me with this new problem.  We use Exchange 2013 with Cumulative Update 5, and Outlook 2007, 2010 and 2013.  This problem
happens on all versions of the latest patched Outlooks.
    1) I have successfully created a Public Folder and an Organizational Forms Library
    2) I have granted myself "Owner" privilege to the entire public folder in both the IPM_Subtree and the Non_IPM_Subtree
    3) I can publish forms into a Public Folder and the Organizational Forms Library
But, after the form is published, I can't manage it.  The COPY, UPDATE, DELETE, PROPERTIES, and SAVE AS buttons are greyed out.
This does not happen for anything in my Personal Forms, my Mailbox or anything in Favorites that are locally cached.
Since the Organizational Forms Library cannot be "Cached" by putting it in Favorites, there seems to be NO way to even delete a form that is published to there.
The closest link that describes a similar (maybe same) problem is
    http://www.michev.info/Blog/Post/14/Unable-to-manage-Forms-in-Outlook
    A) Anybody else have the same problem?
    B) Since it seems I only have control over forms in my Mailbox, and since Public Folders are suppose to be an mailbox, does anyone know how to setup a Public Folder so that you can login to it and attach it as a mailbox?
    C) Does anyone know how to make the Organizational Forms Library cached locally so it can be managed?
    J Awe TechBldrs Inc. www.TechBldrs.com

Easy steps to reproduce the problem.
    1) create a public folder subfolder (do not create a Favorite)
    2) make yourself and OWNER
    3) publish a form to the subfolder (Open a any form and save it with any name)
    4) use the Form Manager select the public folder subfolder that you are an OWNER of
    5) select a form and see if the buttons are GRAYED out.
PLEASE TRY THIS ON YOUR OWN SYSTEMS TO VERIFY THE PROBLEM.

  • Looking for good tool to report on unused Mailboxes, unused Distribution Groups, and unused Public Folders

I have evaluated the following products.
    Quest (Dell) MessageStats
    Enow
    StealthAudit
StealthAudit looked to be the best as they also group like mailboxes with like permissions for Office 365 migrations, but this was by far the most expensive.
We are looking to clean up our environment to eventually migrate to Office 365.  Any advice on a product that would report on unused Mailboxes, unused Distribution Groups, and unused Public Folders that would be great.
    d

    Hi,
In your case, you can use the following cmdlet to determine unused mailboxes. If a mailbox has never logged on, the Lastlogontime is empty.
    Get-Mailbox|Get-MailboxStatistics |fl DisplayName,Lastlogontime
Use the cmdlet below to get publicfolder's last access time.
    Get-PublicFolderStatistics |fl name,LastAccessTime
Get all distribution lists used over last 30 days.
    Get-MessageTrackingLog -EventId Expand -ResultSize Unlimited |Sort-Object RelatedRecipientAddress | Group-Object RelatedRecipientAddress |Sort-Object Name | Select-Object @{label=”PrimarySmtpAddress”;expression={$_.Name}}, Count
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • Unable to access public folders on Exchange 2007 when user mailbox is on Exchange 2013

    Hi
I have coexistence with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. I've moved a mailbox to Exchange 2013 and now cannot view the public folders on Exchange 2007. The error message I get is "could not connect to the public folder server. microsoft exchange is
not available. either there are network problems or the exchange server is down for maintenance."
Mailboxes on Exchange 2007 do not have any problems viewing public folders. I can't migrate users to Exchange 2013 until this issue is resolved.
The IIS permissions to the Public virtual directory on Exchange 2007 is set to Intergrated Windows and Basic authentication.

    Hi northerly,
I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
    1. Please run the Get-OutlookAnywhere cmdlet to verify the Outlook Anywhere settings on Exchange Server 2013 Client Access servers.
    2. If "ExternalHostName" is set, and "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" is Negotiate, change "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate.
    3. If "InternaClientlAuthenticationMethod" is set to Negotiate, and "InternalRequireSSL" is True, change "InternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate, or change "InternalRequireSSL" to False.
What's more, here is a helpful KB for your reference.
Users of Exchange Server 2013 or Exchange Online can't open public folders or shared mailboxes on an Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007 server

    Hope my clarification is helpful.
If there are any problems, please feel free to let me know.

  • Unable to open Public Folders in Outlook or OWA (Exchange 2010)

Exchange 2010 Public folders can not be opened from Outlook or from OWA, in the ADIS I do not see Folder Hierarchies.  Under the public folder Management Console,i get an error that states "You cant perform this operation because public folder
database isnt mounted.  Please mount it and try afain,  It wsas running the command ger-publicfolder -getchildren -identity "\"-server 'MBXserver'"

Run "Get-PublicFolderDatabase" and see what it says the status of the database is.  This error implies that the database in offline.  You will also want to find the status of your public folder copies.
    Get-PublicFolder -Recurse | Ft
    or
    Get-PublicFolder -Recurse | Export-Csv PublicFolderStatus.csv -NoTypeInformation
The first will work if you are checking a small number of folders, but you'll want the latter if you have many of them.
