Unable to open /CS(ContentServer) in Delivery environment in Webcenter Sites?

Hi,
I have installed webcenter sites 11.1.1.6 on windows 7 using Single server mode and delivery environment.
server_wcs_PRD01 - managed server on which CS application is deployed - port number 7113
server_cas_PRD01 - managed server on which cas application is deployed - port number 7115
Both the servers are in the running state and both application are also in active state.
But the problem is that when I hit url for cs application it throws error as:
Error 403--Forbidden
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.4 403 Forbidden
The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable
CAS url is running properly without error, the problem is only in CS
Can anyone please help why is it happening so?

With a fresh delivery type install you should still be able to access Admin UI at http://host:port/cs/Xcelerate/LoginPage.html (assuming your Sites webapp was deployed with 'cs' as the context root), nothing needs to be published. The WEM/Contrib UI at http://host:port/cs/ are typically not available for delivery type install.

Login will redirect to cas. Is the 403 error coming from cs or cas?

Unable to OPen Forms in a DR environment after logging in to Applications

We are testing our DR(XP machines are part of the VMWare environment and the AIX OSes are on LPARs ) scenario and we were able to recover DB on DR database from production and had Application Code trees from prod...(Environment:AIX 64 BIT Powersystems, 11.5.10.2, 10.2.0.4)
We are able to startup DB,Applicaiton services on DR site. After logging in to applications environement...we are able to open up Applicaiton manager/portal based responsibilities but not able to open forms. I dont see the jinitiator popup wizzard when opening the forms...(we ensured that there is java installed on the machine,no popup blockers)...
Would appreciate your help and suggestions.

Unable to open only particular website from office which is site to site VPN site with juniper firewall

when I tried to open a website I am getting request timed out after few minutes ,I have done a wireshark capture but unable to identify the problem particularly the url /timetracking/home.asp is not working ,can you help out here. please find attached capture from source to destination and vice versa.

Yes, I tried that. It did not work for me.
I have 4 site collections. The main site collection is the only one that I receive the error.
When the user clicks on the email link and opens the document for approval, they receive the following error when they click on "Open This Task".
Element '{http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml}a is unexpected according to content model of
parent element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2009/WSSList/dataFields}Body'.
There is nothing wrong with the task list itself, just the link from the Office 2010 client.
I am wondering if there is a web config or other file on the server that is specific to the site collection??

Unable to open 11g R2 database now after trying an RMAN restore

Hi my database is not opening now.
What I was trying was to restore the database on my new server from latest database taken from my old live server and applying it on my new 11g DB (new server-database already created)
old server-11.1.0.7.0-windows 2003 server 32 bit
new server-11.2.0.3.0-windows 2008 64 bit server
The steps i have done which caused this , (After everything was working fine, i did these foll.steps and now all messed up):
The oracle database on this new server was already 11.2.3.0 -it was not upgrade, i directly installed 11.2.0.3.0 on it + applied latest patches etc.
I took RMAN backup from old server 11.1.0.7.0 oracle database.
Copied this backup to to the new server flash recovery area &every step of the restore was working fine -
in nomount mode, restored the control file from autobackup-fine
in mount mode, catalogued the files-fine (Backup from old live,copied to new live)
I restored&Recovered the database until the latest archivelogs.
Until the above steps-all worked fine like a normal recovery steps.
Then I gave "alter database open resetlogs" in RMAN prompt, it gave out error and from that point onwards I am unable to open the database now.
Unfortunately, couldnt grab full screenshot of the error in RMAN but the error basically said that bootstrap failed and i have to open the database with the upgrade option?

This is why you do backups both before and after doing other things.
So one way to do something like this:
Backup old db.
expdp old db.
Install new 11gR2, create database.
Back it up.
Turn off archivelog.
impdp
Turn on archivelog.
Back it up.
The general thought here is you would start over with the first new db backup if the imp didn't work, you turn off archiving to avoid generating lots of redo that would be for a recovery you would never do.
There is more than one way to do it (TIMTOWTDI), best way depends on details, including volume of data and platform changes. expdp/impdp has an over the network option if disk space is limited and network is fast.
I usually allow for several tries when going to a new box, since the new box will require testing anyways.

You will have to check this with the person who is upporting our portal applications. From the error description it does not look like there is any thing wrong with CATS application as such.

I installed the latest version as Administrator and am running as Administrator. I have all rights to all files on the PC.
When I attempt to create a PDF from any Word document, whether .DOC or .DOCX, I get an error window every time:
"Unable to open document:"
"[document location]"
"Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file."
This happens after the little notice pops up "Starting the application which created the document...."
If I open Word and create PDF from the ribbon, it works. It still won't allow me to create from Acrobat.
It creates PDFs from Excel files but not DOC files. I've searched for solutions but found none. I did find this from July of 2011:
"I have found out from Adobe technical support that this is a known issue with Office 2010 SP1 installed. This is an FYI for anyone else experiencing this issue, remove SP1 and it will work ok. They said an update to correct this issue will be coming within the next quarter."
I have updated to the latest version 10.1.2 and still have this problem.
This is a major issue, because it also fails on batch conversions, which is what I really need for the 100 or so documents that need to be PDFed. I'm not going to open each individual file and save each one from within Word.
This is a KNOWN ISSUE at Adobe, and if you look through the forums you'll find many people having this problem, and so far, I have not seen any solution.
If anyone has found the solution, please post it here.

I think I found a solution. It seems to be relatet to normal.dotm.
In our environment we have upgraded from XP & Office 2003 to Win7 and Office 2010. Normal.dot is stored on the users home share. When Office 2010 is started for the first time (for a user) it takes some of the old stuff from normal.dot and puts it in the new normal.dotm. When this happens, we get this error in Acrobat X.
The solution is to rename both normal.dot and notmal.dot to e.g. normal.dot.old and normal.dotm.old. Office/Word 2010 will then create a new, "clean" normal.dotm.
(By the way, if you are in a corporate environment, you might have changed the default path to normal.dot in Office group policies. You can see it here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\14.0\common\general\usertemplates)
I would be interested in knowing exactly why/what in normal.dotm caused this error. I can provide you (Adobe) with a faulty normal.dot(m), if you're interested.

Office 2013 - Unable to open word template

Hi,
Interop is not supported on a Server or with in a services.
But if you want to this, you have to set up the Environment. I follow this Guideline with my Word and I'm able to start Word on a Server.
1) Goto Control panel -> Administrative Tools -> Component Services
2) Expand Tree by clicking on Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer -> DCOM Config
3) Search CLSId 00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046 (which is for Word 97-2003 application)
4) By selecting 00020906-0000-0000-C000-000000000046 this CLSId now right click on Properties
5) In the Propeties area, click on Security TAB
6) Select Customize option from all (Launch and Activations Permissions, Access Pemissions, Configuration Permissions)
7) Take the User of the Services and Allow all permissions for this user
8) Go to Identity TAB in the same properties area, select option as a This user and then add username (the user must be administrator of this machine) and password. Click on Apply, Ok
Locale Profile: True
9) Refresh Component Services and check your application is working fine or not.
10) set Folder, if not present:
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\Desktop

its giving the error as:
REP-110: Unable to open file 'Inventory_Report.rdf'.
REP-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
REP-0110: Unable to open file 'Inventory_Report.rdf'.
Tried giving full path also But No Luck!
The file is existing in the proper given path with required permissions.
Can somebody help me.. If any configuration related help, path setting ??

I have had issues with reports failing to run. My solution was to change settings on the Report App server. I changed the engine parameters to:
initial engines=2
maximum engines=5
minimum engines =2
maximum job before shutdown (englife)=1
maximum idle before shutdown=30
JVM Option= -Xms512m -Xmx512m
When in the report App server, you should see a page with settings similar to above. Make sure you try these settings in the test environment first (you can change them around then to see what works best).

Office Web Apps returns "unable to open"

We have SharePoint 2013 with Office Web Apps 2013 SP1.
Recently, users started receiving errors after the "Word Web App" logo would present stating "unable to open". This occurred on anything (Excel Web App, etc..).

I ran Update-SPWOPIProofKey on the SharePoint Server; and it has seemed to fix it.
Trying to recall past events; in January we installed the latest Web Apps updates; and while troubleshooting this issue; I did as well; install the most recent Web Apps updates KB2956158.
We use the Remove-OfficeWebAppsMachine and subsequently New-OfficeWebAppsFarm each time we apply the updates. Our environment is stand-alone. One Exchange Server, One SharePoint Server, One Office Web Apps Server.

From your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you opened documents.
Please install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2, compare the result.

App v Outlook unable to open .pdf in IE

Greetings everyone!
So I have a user that is unable to open up any link to a Web site PDF from outlook. She clicks on the link to the pdf, IE opens, and then she gets this error.
We also stream Adobe reader, which is what Outlook calls on in order to open the pdf. I entered the Adobe reader bubble and went to the above path and launched the eula.exe. I was able to accept it, but the issue still persists.
I went into the Outlook bubble to check and see if the same EULA was present and there was none.
We run App v version 4.6
There are a few users that experience this, but maybe 1% of the environment. No other users can duplicate the issue.
We have tried clearing the cache.
Adobe Reader and Outlook 2010 are virtualized as well.
Any thoughts? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have a PDF file that has been associated with a virtual Adobe Reader. Is Outlook virtualized? If so, which version? You have three applications at play here. We need more information.

Hi,
If the issue only occurs to some users not all, I’d recommend you check client issue and permission issue. For client issue, you could try compatibility view in IE.
If there is more than one WFE servers in your environment, then please ensure SharePoint Shared Services is started on all WFE servers.

Unable to open file created by outbound file adapter

Hi,
I have a requiement for polling data from 3 different tables, mergind=g them and writing all data into a flat file in CSV format. However, I see that I'm unable to open the file with my personal UNIX credentials, since the file is getting written by the SOA UNIX credentials.
Is there any way to set the default permissions on the server so that the file is accessible to other users as well.
Any insight would be appreciated, I'm quite stumped with this. My working environment is SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 running on OEL 5

Hi,
In my view this can be sorted out at a operational system level, if you set 'umask 2' for the SOA user (the user that is starting the SOA servers and writing the files) then files created by that user will allow rights for users in the same group. So, you will need to add the group id from the SOA user to your user groups.

NW PI 7.1 Install FKD-00048 Unable to open URL file:///tmp/sapinst_instdir

I am installing PI 7.1 on a HP-UX/ Oralce environment. Started the install and when It prompted for Oracle Software, I stopped the install and installed Oracle.
When starting back SAPINST after oracle install it terminates with the following error :

Nothing has been moved from the /tmp directory.

Hi,
It looks like problem /tmp file system. Generally contents in this file system are temporary.
I think you have to start the installation again but this time I would suggest you to not use /tmp as installation directory.
