Unable to open downloaded applications - Indesign & Illustrator

Hi - I purchased a one year subscription for Indesign and Illustrator yesterday.   However, the entire suite downloaded after quite a few hours.  I am unable to open InDesign & Illustrator.   I keep getting an Adobe comment box saying something like - to renew your subscription with a link or the message try again in 15 minutes.   I had downloaded the updated Download Assistant.   This is very frustrating as I need to work on some files I had created previously when I took out a subscription a few months ago which expired due to an accounting issue.
I would appreciate your assistance

  • Unable to open all applications on my iphone 3g

Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this issue before and what I can do to rectify it.
I am unable to open any applications on my iphone 3g. When I select an application it will begin to load and then immediately close. This is happening with all applications, so I am unable to use any of them. I have tried resetting all my settings on the phone and turning off the phone for an extended period of time. It has been like this for about 2 days.
I am not sure what I can do to fix this, can anyone help?

To get the most useful help you should give more info such as the iPhone OS version, your computer OS, and iTunes version.
Sometimes this is caused by a corrupted metadata file and is fixed by downloading a new app to the phone.
If not, take the usual troubleshooting steps:
Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
Restore in iTunes using a backup.
    Restore as a new phone.

  • I am unable to open download assistant for P.E. ... "misconfigured"

i am unable to open download assistant for P.E. ... "misconfigured" ... "contact producer"

Even too lazy to write the full name of the application you're referring to?
Shall we guess what "P.E." means? If that is Photoshop Extended, this is actually abbreviated PSE. Or is it Photoshop Elements?
Ever tried searching Google? Then you'll find this: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/download-assistant-faq.html
    Tried this?

display "Application over 20MB" when I type OK button, the appearance will not go away and make me unable to open other applications, what to do and whether it must be restarted?

The 20 meg message is the download limit for 3G. If you can't get rid of the 'OK' message then you can do a reset by pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You should be able to download the apps by switching to wifi on your iPad or downloading them on your computer's iTunes and syncing them or dragging and dropping them over to the iPad device.

  • Can't open the application "Adobe Illustrator CS6.app" because it is not supported...

UPDATE - Ahhh haaaa!  If I log in with the guest account Illustrator works fine! WTF!? Oh well, at least I have a direction to be working towards, thanks for all the suggestions and assistance Adobe Community!
That was sarcasm by the way...
UPDATE - Just installed the latest Illustrator update from Adobe - still not loading. Tried reseting the iMac's PRAM, no luck.
UPDATE - I've just reinstalled the whole CS6 Suite, and the only things that have changed are that I now have a little white no entry sign over Illustrator (it still won't load) and I also have 1.5GB of application updates to do
I don't have any direct evidence but I'm guessing this is a Mavericks incompatibility judging by the other issues people are having with Illustrator. Any suggestions are welcome!
I've been using CS6 on my iMac for the past year (3.2GHz Intel Core i5, 32GB ram).  Everything running fine, no problems.
Then I get the popup from Apple saying to upgrade to Mavericks, so I did. After updating my Java version, for the next two weeks everything carried on running fine. Until just now.
    I finished working on an Illustrator file, saved it and then exited, only to remember I needed to make one more small change. So I clicked on the AI icon and got this error message;
'You can’t open the application “Adobe Illustrator CS6.app” because it is not supported on this type of Mac.' Eh???
I tried doing a reboot thinking that maybe something had just gone wonkey and needed resetting. Still no luck. So I reinstalled Java again. Nope. Then I tried every other CS6 app and they all ran fine.
Does anyone know what could cause Illustrator CS6 to be working fine for weeks and then suddenly become an unsupported app? These things always happen with you're right up against a deadline! I NEED ILLUSTRATOR WORKING NOW! HEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPP!
    James

I had the same issue and resolved it
I first remove the prefs folder and the plist files for illustrator in ~/Libary
    next I logged off,
then I uninstalled illustrator using the adobe uninstaller(http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html)
    Next I reinstall illstrator
after that it worked for me.

Also, does reinstallation takes the back up automatically or the files will be lost. Please help.

Here are a bunch of scripts to get folder size under all circumstances.  Take your pick.

  • Unable to open any applications in administrator account

My OS is 10.6.2. Just tonight, I was unable to open any applications in my administrator account (Safari, iCal, iTunes, calculator, system preferences, etc.). In other words, I can't do anything while logged into my administrator account. However, everything works fine if I log into the guest account. Any suggestions? I have restarted my computer and that did not help.

What happens when you try to launch applications? Do you see error messages?
Check the behavior in Safe Mode by restarting the computer with the Shift key held down. Booting will take a while longer--this is normal, so just be patient.

Have recently updated Adobe Reader and now unable to open downloaded documents - Message received is could not open 'file name.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). When I check the file it shows Zero KB downloaded but the file appears - any suggestions?

Obviously your download was not successful.
What is your operating system?  How exactly do you download such files?

  • Unable to open Apple application

Last week, I did the most current software updates. Ever since then, I have been unable to open certain Apple programs such as iChat, Skype, Preview, Pages, Photo Booth, etc. I have tried to download AIM, but the computer says it isn't supported. Also, now when I try to open Photo Booth, it says my graphics card doesn't support it, but I have never changed the card from the one the computer came with. The programs will open up, and then immediately quit, and I am left with "The application _____ quit unexpectedly" message. No matter how many times I relaunch and reset, ignore, or report, I can't get them to open. I'm in college and really have no way to get to a Genius Bar for a few more weeks, and I don't have the Leopard disk with me. Is there any way I can fix this on my own? Thanks!

I think it was the repair disk permission that actually worked for me. I tried it once and got no result, and then tried to download the updater. For whatever reason, I couldn't even download that. So I went back and did the disk permission repair again. It still didn't seem to work, so I just turned the computer off out of frustration. When I turned it back on, it was all fixed. So I'm not entirely sure what it was that fixed it...all I know is it works now!

  • Citrix XenApp Unable to Open Published Applications. Via UAG Trunk

    Good Morning,
I'm trying to publish XenApp through a UAG trunk. When I click in the XenApp icon I am presented with the Citrix login page and am able to log in. However, if I try to open any application I am prompted to either open or save the ICA file and on clicking
open I always get the following message, "Unable to launch your application. Contact your helpdesk with the following information: Cannot connect to XenApp server. There is no Citrix XenApp server configured on the specified address." If I log in
to the UAG server I can connect to the Citrix server and run all applications without error. If I save the ICA file the contents are as expected and the correct server is listed.
Forefront UAG is running a two node NLB array with SP4 and Citrix is published via an F5 load balancer.
    Any ideas out there?
    Thanks.

    hi patrick,
this problem is not solvable on the serverside since this is a desktop integration problem. since you want to use excel as your editor you have to use excel's client side software.
oracle drive purely addresses desktop integration and is not meant to be a server side component. it is a webdav client and for that only ensures that the communication between the client and the portal server has as much useful functionality as possible.
the only other option that i see is downloading the document to the client, update it and copy it back up to the portal server, which is cumbersome.
all webdav clients are client side software that is either shipped with the OS (MS webfolders) or needs to be installed on the client (oracle drive).
you could check if there is software availble that is an excel plug-in for internet explorer which at the same time talks webdav to portal. not sure if this exists ?
    regards,
    christian

  • Unable to open download app

I've downloaded an app from my isp (roadrunner) and am unable to open it with a double click. The isp says the file I downloaded is correct and that the mac is preventing it from opening. Any ideas?

    baschm,
Your link http://dialupaccess.rr.com does not work for me.
Is this the correct link http://dialaccess.rr.com/?
If so, when I clicked on Download Dialer, and then downloaded Mac OS X, The Zip file RRDialAccess-3.01-macx.zip was downloaded to my Desktop.
When I double-clicked to unzip the package, Stuffit Expander opened and produced a 8.3 MB Application on my Desktop.
Double-Clicking that produced the Setup Wizard.
As I don't want to install the Road Runner Dialer, I cancelled.
So, are you sure that you downloaded the correct Dialer?

  • I am unable to open any applications and the top menu bar (while everything else freezes) disappears about a minute after powering on my macbook.

A little while back, I attempted to write files to a disk, and then my computer went to a screen that I remember looking similar to thishttp://i44.tinypic.com/mheyy1.jpg After going in to speak with apple, they tried to reset specific settings and ended up erasing the majority of the files on my computer. After all this, my computer began to function terribly and finder would not respond. I did a software update just now and upon doing so my menu bar at the top of the screen is visible only for a moment before disappearing. When I try to open any application, the icon turns to a TXT icon and will not open. I am unable to do much of anything on my macbook right now. Thanks for your help!

These files were lost two years ago.
That's not consistent with what you wrote in your first message. I can't help you unless I know what's going on. Either you do, or do not, have backups of all the data you want to keep. If you do not, then the first thing you need to do is back up those files. It makes zero sense to do anything else. In order to back up, you'll need either of two things: another Mac, in working order, with a FireWire port and enough space on its internal drive to hold your files; or an external drive, also with enough space.
On the other hand, if you do have backups, or if you simply don't care about any of the data, then the solution to your problem may be quite simple. All you have to do is boot from your installation disc (your profile says you're running Mac OS 10.5), erase your internal drive, reinstall the Mac OS, then restore your data from backup. You will need to be selective in restoring software, because incompatible software may be what caused the issue.
But it's also possible that you have a hardware failure, in which case you can't get your computer working again until it's repaired.
