Unable to open eccouncil Adobe DRM

Hi,
ADE used to add eccouncil DRM protected pdfs to the library OK.
However with CEH v 8 pdfs, ADE v 2 reports this error:
"Unable to add document
Errors were encountered in this item"
Any help?

Real answer is I don't know; but a few random thoughts that may help.
Are they Adobe DRM documents?
If they are not DRM open them using a normal PDF reader such as Adobe Reader.
ADE should be able to open non-DRM PDF, but maybe they use a later PDF version than ADE supports?
Or maybe they use some special CEH v 8 encryption rather than standard Adobe DRM?

    Here's what we're up against.
Windows 8.1 - Flash Player for IE is embedded ny Microsoft. It can't be downloaded, upgraded or replaced from here.
    That's half the battle.
IE11 - Microsoft really did a numnber on it. Browsers use "User-Agent Strings" for websites to identify the browser and its engine and the websites provide the proper content based on the ID from the Strings. The "geniuses" (sarcasm intended) in redmond, WA decided it'd be a really good idea to change IE11's User-Agent Strings to make websites think it was something else. Some sites ID it as a Gecko browser (Firefox), and some as a Webkit browser (Chrome or Safari). Now, here's where the real genius shows through. With out a Gecko or Webkit browser engine (IE has a Trident engine)... The content won't play properly if it even plays at all. And most of the time it doesn't at all. What happens is IE becomes an "unidentified" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player.
So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. In fact, since they came up with this idiocy, I seriously doubt they'll even acknowledge what a major problem it is.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using a different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

I am unable to open my Abode Reader?
    (0:521)

    Three things to try...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

How does your "chat" work? Is there a button for Chat?

    Download
    Photoshop Elements 10 – Mac (2.0 GB)
    Premiere Elements 10 – Mac (1.8 GB)
Click on the Chat Button on the Chat Support(http://www.adobe.com/support/download-install/supportinfo/)
You will then have the option to chat with a support representative or call support using the phone numbers listed.

  • Unable to open any adobe document

After the adobe security breach I cancelled my credit card and allowed my subscription to Adobe XI Pro to cancel.  Since then I have not been able to open ANY adobe document.  This means that I get stuck in a loop and the only thing I'm getting from Adobe is high blood pressure!!!
Any chance someone out there can tell me what to do?
    frassled

    Thanks Claudio,
I have attempted to open adobe documents sent as attachments.  Once I click on them I am brought to an Adobe pop up which asks me to renew my subscription or manage my subscription.  Once I choose manage my subscription I am brought in to my Adobe account and see that the subscription has been cancelled.  I have found my way in to a 'loop' in which I can get no further. On one occassion I was given the option of clicking a link to allow me Chat to an Agent but there was no link.
What other information do you need?
    regards

  • Unable to open all Adobe products! Help!

I installed adobe photoshop trial, the trial is now over and all Adobe programs that were on my computer before the trial such as reader will not open up without having  to buy adobe photoshop. This is very frustrating, does anyone know how to restore my computer to how it was before I downloaded photoshop?

I can guess what happened. When you install Photoshop you can CHOOSE what file types it is to open. If you choose PDF (or ALL) then double clicking on a PDF will try to run Photoshop.
You can still start Reader and use File > Open.
Note that uninstalling may not fix this. Repairing Reader (Help menu) might.

  • I am unable to open my adobe files

I am trying to authorize my computer and keep receiving the following error, after I reset my password:
    Activation Servver error
    code: E_AUTH_NOT_READY
Digital Editions encountered an error on the activation server.
This is hindering me from studying for my certification exam.

    Possible answer ...
Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people.  Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. If you are using 10.7, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1265248?tstart=0

What Adobe "attachments" are you trying to open? If you mean PDF files you've downloaded, which Reader is designed to open, Apple's Preview can open them too, and a lot more.

  • Flash Builder 4.7 - unable to open

I have opened my old 4.6 workspace with 4.7 and updated my projects flex sdk to 4.6.0 located in FB4.7 sdks folder no problems. Now I am getting the follow error:
"unable to open '/Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flexbuilder.project_4.7.0.345990/dcradSwcs/4.5/locale/es_ES '"
My flex mobile project has localisation, all located in a folder: src/locale/ and I have the following compiler args:
    -locale=en_US,de_DE,es_ES,fr_FR,ja_JP,pt_BR,ru_RU,zh_CN,it_IT,ko_KR,nl_NL -source-path ./locale/{locale} -allow-source-path-overlap=true
I geuss the issue is possibly with the compiler path or possibly no es_ES folder located in 4.7, any ideas?
    Thanks

Fixed: In Project prefs: Flex Build path: added the similar swc folder called "local" from FB 4.6 eclipse/plugins directory and removed the 4.7 one.
For some reason the 4.7  eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flexbuilder.project_4.7.0.345990/dcradS wcs/4.5/locale folder has localisation folders in it and not swc's like in FB 4.6..

There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-editions/kb/cant-install-digital-editions.html
The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
