?  Why does my Photoshop PS2 open on my Mac Book Pro OS 10.6.8 Intel Core 2 Processor but not on my just purchased Mac Book Pro OS 10.7.3? On my new machine I get a message saying "You can't open Photoshop CS2 because Power PC applications are no longer supported". I don't have a Power PC on either machine and this App does run on the older machine with an Intel processor. benrusy

This is not new.  The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now.  You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop

Have you removed those plugins ? They could be in your Movie folder or Library - application support - FCP- plugins - effects

  • HT3669 Epson SX 535WD Unable to send scans to Mac  Book Pro via USB from Epson Printer screen?

    Hi,
I have recently updated to mavericks, I am having porblems opperating my Epson sx 535wd scanner?  The printer side seems to work fine!
I have downloaded the latest software form the EPSON www site however I am unable to download the Scanner drivers as my Mac tells me it doesn't reckognise the developer?
Do I change the gate keeper settings on the mac to allow this software to be installed or not? (This was recomended by EPSON? )
Also I have some old Epson software Circa 2012 on my Mac , I asume this is no longer required so can I remove it or would that affect the printer?

The problem I'm having is that I can not seem to access the Epson 1280 from my Dell PC, nor can I access the files on the PC via my Mac Book.
I suggest that you check out the following iFelix articles to see if they will help:
    - Printing to a printer on an Airport Extreme Base Station or Airport Express from an XP PC
    - Sharing files between a Windows XP PC and a Mac running OS 10.4.x

  • HT1420 Unable to authorize a new mac book pro

I have deauthorized a couple of the old computers that were associated with my Apple account, there are now 4 devices on the my account. Why can't is authorize my new Mack Book Pro? Especially when the account is showing me that there are only 4 devices on the account?

"This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone “John’s iPhone”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?", at which point I ask it to authorize the Mac Book by feeding in my iTunes account password and at which point it says "You cannot authorize more than 5 computers. You have already authorized 5 computers with this Apple ID. To authorize this computer you must deauthorize one of the other computers"

That would be because the moderators have moved it to the appropriate section.

Sb: I showered with computer next to tub last night. Could this be water damage?

Yes there could be water damage.  Can you open Disk Utility and run First Aid?
    Ciao.

  • I cannot open iPhoto in Mac book Pro

"You can't open the application iPhoto because the Classic environment is no longer supported."
    OS X 10.7.5
tried to open got the spinning cursor and then the icon got one of those international 'do not' cicles with the line through it.

First off Mac Pros and MacBook Pros are different machines (the former is a desktop, the latter a notebook), but that matters not for your question.   I'll request this thread get moved.  Secondly, iPhoto has a newer release which came with your MacBook Pro out of the factory.
Is your machine older than July 20, 2011?    If not, you'll probably have to restore the factory software after making a clone backup or buy iLife or iPhoto from the Mac App Store.    If it is older than July 20, 2011, there is an original installer disc that came with your computer, you should call AppleCare for, if you lost that includes a newer version of iPhoto than the Classic only compatible version as part of its restore application.   Classic is not compatible with any Mac newer than January 1, 2006.

  • Compressing files to email on Mac Book Pro

I want to send a iphoto album via email (yahoo) but I don't know how I can compress the album (I used to use winzip on my old laptop).  Can anyone help?  Thanks

    01halostang,
Read the first post over again. While jumbled it looks like they are referring to a MacBook Pro, not a Powerbook. MacBook Pro is the name of the professional lineup of notebooks Apple made with the new Intel chips since 2006, whereas the Powerbook was the G4 and earlier Macs that were portable for professionals from 2005 and earlier. This is why the followup suggestions are confused.

  • Downloaded Yosemite and now can't open photoshop on Mac Book Pro?

I have downloaded Yosemite on MacBook Pro and now can't open photoshop.
I have updated Java but still no help.
Anyone know anything about this please?

If you updated the OS after Photoshop 5.x was installed, the nefarious Yosemite disjointed beast damaged your Photoshop installation.  Thank Apple for that.
You need to UNinstall Photoshop again, look for, download and run the Adobe CS Cleaner Tool, Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility, install Photoshop from scratch again, apply any and all available Photoshop updates, and ONCE AGAIN Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility—in that precise order.

  • Connecting mac book pro wirelessly with hp printer

I am unable to connect my new mac book pro with my hp G85xi wirelessly. I am able to connect utilizing my other pc computers (laptop and desktop; this is my first mac). Could anyone provide help with this?

Right now, it's impossible to diagnose your issue. First, I would want to see if your MBP works on another monitor. I'd bring it to an Apple Store, I'm sure they'd let you try. Bring your own cable, just in case that's the issue. If it works there, then you know it's your LG monitor.
Something is wrong with either your monitor or the cable. I don't think it's your MBP.

  • How do I stop my new mac book pro from opening all my old emails and flasing them in the top right corner?

How do I stop my new Mac book Pro from opening all my old emails and flashing them in the upper right.

Copy the entire iTunes folder within the music folder on your old Mac to the music folder on your new Mac.
You can use an external hard disc for the transfer, or you can connect the computers together using Firewire Target Disc Mode as explained here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1661

  • Unable to open/run anything on Mac Book Pro

I have a new Mac book Pro (january)
    Running:
    Snow Leopard
    Duo Core 2.66 Processor (13")
    4 Gigs Ram
    500 gig Harddrive
    Disk Partition:
    Windows 7
    105gigs
OK as the title states, I can not opne anything, programs will not run, I  can not go into folders and only menu I can bring up is when I right click and evne then I can on select any of the options. When I try to open or run anything the mac freezes up sometimes the raindow cursor apperars othertimes the screen just freezes. Also, keyboard bottons work (brightness, volume..dashboard, but agian when it comes up I can't select any gagestes or sticky notes)
I've treid re-boting and nothing, as I'm unable open anything I can't check for updates, uninstall aplliacations, ect..
Also, my windows parition loads up my default when I boot up (not sure why) and I guess its becuase of this I haven't been able to try solutions involving holding specific keys when re-booting.
To sum up, I mac book pro loads proparly, regiesters a USB drive when I plugged it in, as soon as I try to open anything I slows/frezes..rainbow cersur pops up and will not open anything with no messages or anything. Also sometiems everything except my desktop background vanishes off the screen when I double click a folder, application, menu.
I've loaded up windows and that seems to be working as usual. Because I'm in school at the moment I hope I don't wnat have to re-insall OS X, therefore I haven't popoed the OS X disk in as I'm a fraid I might loose my school work.
Lasltly, If I have to re-install the OS how do I get the apps I paid for back without paying of them again?
I tried to describe my situation as best I could,  hopefully it helps.

you can easily get the apps you paid for back without paying again as long as it is with the same account,  there i  a tab in the mac app store that says purchased and you can just go on that tab and press install for the bunch that are there,   to get your OSX partition as your main one go to system prefrenses, under system there will be something called startup disk and then you can switch it to mac OSX   i hope that helped, and for your applications not working i would reinstall OSX because it would install as an upgrade if you want it to and im sure it will keep most of your info and apps
