You could try Videora (http://www.videora.com/) - the downside here is that they have specific versions for specific phones, and sometimes it will makea file that plays perfectly in the desired phone but can't be shared to other models. The don't show a version for the N79, but try the N96 one because the N96 is the most similar OS to yours that they offer.

  • E5 - unable to open. object type not supported

    hi.
2 Month back i brought Nokia E-5 Mobile and after few weeks i upgraded the Memory from 2Gb to 8GB. After copying all files from 2gb to 8gb am not able to open or install any existing programs and files. Even maps are not working. When trying to open or install the files am getting this erro " unable to open object type not supported " . Kindly help on this error.
    Thanks
    Velavan

I have never attempted what you did, so can't say for certain, but I don't think memory card data is meant to be copied from one card to another (unless we're talking about data files like pictures or mp3's).  I don't understand what you mean by being unable to install files.  Are you trying to reinstall the programs that aren't working?  If your 2GB card still works normally, I suggest you format the 8 GB card, reinstall the programs to the empty card, and re-download the maps data.  If the programs still give you trouble, you may need to uninstall them from the 2 GB card first, but I don't think that should be necessary.  I hope that helps.

  • Loops not work - File type not supported

    Hi guys and girls
one of the imacs (10.6.7) at the site I work at has begun to display the following message when you try to select any of the loops from within garageband.
"file type not supported" and then you have no other option other than to abort. I have tried deleting the loop directory before dragging the loops back into garageband which has always fixed any issues with loops in the past, however the error still displays.
Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

The message I get is "Cannot open the file. Verify that the path and file name are correct and try again".
Please see the Microsoft support doument Windows Media Player 9 Series for Mac OS X Readme. Scroll down to the section on Playing Protected Files.
Sometimes you can view the source code for the web page to locate the specific media file. If you copied that address and then pasted that address in File > Open URL in Windows Media Player, you may get to listen to or watch the file. This trick does not always work.

  • When trying to change ringtone I keep getting the error message file type not supported.

I have downloaded some ringtones fro VZ Tones and when I go to make them the default it gives me the error message file type not supported.  If I go to my storage and try to look at pictures, it tells me the same thing.

That's definitely odd CrystiDawn, and I understand it can be quite frustrating. Let's get to the bottomof this. What device make and model phone do you have? Did you receive a text message with a link to download the ringtones? If so, once downloaded, please go to all your Apps, locate "Files" and play the ringtone using the media player. You will have the option to set it as ringtone while playing and pressing the menu icon. Were the pictures taken from the phone or transferred using the USB cable?

  • CD albums in iTunes (12.1.2.27) won't load to iPad - gets file type not supported message

I just updated to iTunes 12.1.2.27 and synced to my iPad, but all of my CD albums that are in iTunes on a mac-mini (Yosemite 10.10.3)  won't sync now. A sample message is:
"song title" was not copied because the file type is not supported by the iPad "my iPad name"
There where a hundred songs on the list. My iPad is on IOS 8.3. I have never had this problem before. Songs purchased from iTunes store are there, but not my own CDs.
Has anyone seen this problem before? What is the solution?
    Rolf

Problem solved! Apparently way back in November of last year I made a copy of the iTunes library on my time machine backup disk manually. I just created the folder on the drive. This was because I was updating the system and did not trust anything to work properly afterwards. The iTunes folder was sitting on that drive and  iTunes (for reasons I don't understand) started using parts of it. I noticed this when I tried to play one of the songs from my CD albums. The backup disk would mount and spin up and play the song from there.
By the way the iTunes preferences were set to look at the iTunes library on my mac-mini system disk not the backup drive. Why it went to that backup drive I will never know. Anyway I renamed the iTunes folder to something else on the backup drive. Now when I play a song from an album it goes to the proper iTunes library (the one on my mac-mini disk). Subsequent to this fix a sync to the iPad copied my albums  properly with no error.

  • Can't synch - file type not supported

When synching music from ITunes 9 to my IPod Mini (3.77 GB capacity) I can load some songs but for many songs I get the message that they cannot be synched because the file type is not supported. All my files are the same types - there is a combination of .wma and MPEG-4 files for each song in my ITunes Library directory. I don't know which files are used/supported and I don't know what to do....
    Thanks,
    David

If the WMA files are "unprotected", iTunes for Windows can convert them when you add them to your library. It should do this automatically.
See: How to add songs from your hard drive to iTunes.
Importing WMA files into iTunes for Windows.
If not, see: How to convert a song to a different format using iTunes.

  • Problem when syncing; file type not supported by iPod...

I imported a new CD into iTunes today and when I hooked-up my iPod and tried to sync it with iTunes I received an error message on 69 of my files stating that the file type isn't supported by the iPod. The strange thing is, the files that are getting the error message aren't any of the new files and they've been on my iPod for a long time, some for well over a year. All of my files in in MP3 format so I know that my iPod supports the file type. Anyone experience this before or know how to correct this?
By the way, I tried burning some of the files to CD, deleting them from iTunes and then importing them back into iTunes in MP3 format. The end result was the same and I still get the same error message.

Nevermind, I finally found a thread with a fix. It appears that this is a quirk of iTunes 7.2 that requires moving the files to a new location (out of iTunes), deleting the files from iTunes and then putting the files back into iTunes. That worked and all my files are synced again.

  • E70 PDF Reader : Unable to open. File type not sup...

This morning I have bought an E70, among others due to its highscreen resolution and the possibility to run a PDF reader on it.
    I have now tried ...
      - the pre-installed Adobe PDF Reader
      - the Adobe PDF Reader supplied with the PC Suite CD-ROM
      - the Adobe PDF Reader available on europe.nokia.com
I am fascinated by a software which presents itself in the About box as '1.5', prompts during installation for '1.0.5' and has filenames '1_5_0'.
Apart from minor variations in the SIS filenames they all share the same annoying feature: They refuse to display any of my PDF files but display a message 'Unable to open. File type not supported. 5. !' instead.
It doesn't seem to be a problem of the PDF files, since a collegue of mine was able to open them on his E61 or E70 (forgot to ask).
Any idea what this problem could be caused by?

I am speechless -- but happy.
The complaint about the file type only appears if you try to open a PDF stored in the phone memory but not if you try to open a PDF stored on the memory card.
    Problem solved.

  • Unanle to open message format not supported

i have a nokia 5530XM , from time to time i received facebook updates on my cell as a SMS , sometimes I am not able to open them and i got a message: "unable to open. message format  not supported  even though i can read some text from the preview list its a simple text mesage....this thing only happens to facebook updates SMs and i can open other text messages on my cell ...i ve tried to format the phone and reset it but again same problem occurs ..
    plsss help  thanx ....

@r3devil11 - sorry about late reply. So far R&D folks have not been able to reproduce this issue. One advice was to try changing text related settings in Facebook settings page and see if that has any effect.
There are some other threads where similar issue has been discussed (e.g. here) where some users mentioned that Facebook messages have been working but suddenly stopped (and they are seeing same message) so, could be that something has changed in a way how messages are delivered. Maybe you could also check with operator support if they are aware of any issue with Facebook messages in their network.

For the first time, I'm trying to use adobe premiere elements 10 that came with my pc Windows 8. I created a single project, saved it but cannot open it. My pc shows the file I created but I get an error message that says this type file is not supported or the codex is not installed. As a test, I created another very small project and get the same error message, when I try to open it. Pls give me a simple answer, a refund or a phone

What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 10 running on? And, what video card/graphics card does that computer use?
Is this the first time you are using Premiere Elements 10 or have you worked with it before successfully? There is no easy solution until we
know the details and troubleshoot to determined what caused the problem.
    1. Can you open a new project?
    2. After you saved/closed the problem project, did you move, delete, or rename any of the files/folder that were related to the source media
    for that project?
    3. Please review the Adobe document on troubleshooting damaged projects.

    4. What are the steps that you are using to reopen this saved closed project.

  • Error Message: This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed?

I am trying to get media from my computer, and I only receive this error message :
This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed?
What should I do? I have a window 8 laptop. My video files are from my itouch/ipod. I am using Premiere Elements 7.
I have used this software with success before. HELP would greatly be appreciated!

    darlingdarleen
Did both laptop 1 and 2 have QuickTime (latest version or any version) installed on the computers with Premiere Elements 7 when you got this "this type of file......" message?
If you go to the opened Premiere Elements 7 projects involved and look at Share/Personal Computer/QuickTime, do you find that QuickTime Presets are shown and that you find export settings choices under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab?
Look at the file name of the video. Do you see any irregularies in the name of the file, dots and such?
If you record new iPod footage, open a new Premiere Elements project, and import that iPod footage, do you still get the error message? Putting aside, iTouch, what model iPod are these videos coming from?
    Thanks.

    Steve,
Not to sure what type AVI files they are, the storage devise is at present offshore on a job.
Can you clarify, if you edit/import video footage with adobe premiere 10 and then create a file, the file or the original raw footage is not stored on computer for re-use, if it is stored, is it stored in the original format.
Also please find details of storage devise,

Hallo! I use Adobe Premiere Elements 12 on my computer (PC, windows 7). When I try do re-open my projects on Adobe Premiere Elements I get the message: This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is not installed. The file type of my saved projects is: Adobe Premiere Elements Project (.prel). The same happens when i try to re-open the auto save files. This is very annoying because I losse all my earlier work. I would be really grateful for help. Best regards, Stefan

With the QT Player installation, you should have Apple's H.264 CODEC.
Maybe this ARTICLE will give you some tips on the GoPro footage.
