Following the most recent FireFox Update I can no longer open or use the FireFox browser. I reinstalled a new version and still get the same Profile Missing Alert.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I have a Windows 8 OS running on a PC. I have been using Firefox as my browser for several months. There are a few steps to try.
First, try resetting Firefox:

When I download and try to install Thunderbird I get the message "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded, it may be missing or inaccessible".

Because of a virus, I redownloaded Thunderbird 24.4.0 and it completed until trying to open Thunderbird when I get the message "Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

I've been using Firefox for a long time with a great pleasure of course. I've got today the same problem as you: my profile can't be loaded, missing or inaccessible. I tried all solutions but it was not OK.
Finally, as yesterday I've played with hiddens files in my home directory, I noticed that my "/home/myuser/.cache" was marked with a little padlock: it was access protected. So I just execute:

and now Firefox is working fine.

If you delete the Firefox profile folder, but leave the profiles.ini file then Firefox will try to access the folder that is marked as "Default=1" in the profiles.ini file and that will cause this error message.

In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.

You do not have to delete the Firefox profile folder if there is a problem with the cookies.
You would only have to delete the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies in case clearing the cookies in the normal way isn't working.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

One moment I was able to use Firefox just fine and the next, I'm getting a pop up message:

I can't reinstall firefox, I get the "profile cannot be loaded" error and no solution I've found works. The /appdata/roaming/mozilla folder is inaccessible.
