Unable to open Library software

When I downloaded the Library software for me PRS-350 I had no problem and it opened the first time I tried. However, I now cannot open the program even though I can see it running on my task manager. I am using Windows XP and have tried uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it with no improvement. Anyone have any ideas or knows why this is happening?

solved:
down load and use Adobe digital editions reader at
http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/
sony reader auto-connects to this library.

  • Unable to open library books on Kobo Touch

    I am unable to open library books which are DRM protected on my Kobo Touch. This is a new problem in the last few months. The message on my Kobo is "This document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management and is not currently authorized for use with your Adobe ID. Please sign in with the authorized Adobe ID and try again." At Kobo's suggestion I have done a factory reset of the Kobo Touch. I have also deauthorized both the computer and Kobo, and authorized them again. Still no luck. Please help! I have wasted ALOT of time on this.

    There seem to be lots of people have Kobo problems at the moment.
    I haven't got one so I am not sure if this will help, but read around the post below and see it it matches.

    Also, try ADEv1.7.2.
    ~~~~~~~~~
    There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
    (You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
    Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
    Some people have found ADE trying to upgrade automatically.
    It appears (not 100% sure) that if you install ADE2.0 as a new install (not as an upgrade) that your 1.7.2 will continue to run.
    Probably best to say no if 2.0.x installation asks if you want to migrate your library.
  • Unable to open library
    I recently had my hard drive replaced (due to apple recall), everything has been reinstalled and working properly except for iPhoto.  The library is definatley on my harddrive(my screen saver is using them no problem) but here is the issue - when I open iPhoto it states "The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto." then after clicking upgrade and it examping the photo library, it says "iPhoto is unable to open this library."?  so bottom line iPhoto can no longer open my Photo Library, help please???
    What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
  • Fatal error message: unable to open new software application on Tungsten e2
    I recently downloaded a new software program onto my tungsten e2- I had to put it on my 1gb memory card of course because I've used up all my internal memory. I already had another software app on the card that works perfectly. And I also still have more than enough space for the new app I downloaded. (FYI the new app is sanford antimicrobial pocket guide for pda, bought it directly off their professional website & downloaded directly to my computer so no problems there). However, when I click on the icon to open up the new program, I get this error message: "Emul68KMain.c, Line:108, divide by zero at address 00861870". Now this is not a language I understand, so I'm hoping some computer/pda wiz can help me out!!
    Hi, and welcome to the Palm Support Community.
    Without being familiar with that particular application, I suggest you revisit the developer's support site for help.  Even if you were able to install the application to the SD card, the application will still need some room to run in the device's main memory.  In other words, applications do not "run" in the card per se...they're just stored there, but when they run, they still require access to sufficient device memory.
  • Unable to open library ebooks on my macbook.
    Hello,
    I am trying to download library books on my macbook and it is not opening. The screen comes blank when I open the ebook; the sample books here work fine. I had this problem before and somehow it was back to normal but I am having the same problem again. I have a Mac OS X 10.5.8. Please help!!!
    It could be an authorization issue; though that should give a clearer error message.
    The sample books probably don't not worry about the DRM which is why they are OK.
    Try deauthorizing the mac (cmd-shift-D).
    Restart ADE and you will be asked to reauthorize.  Give it you Adobe id and password.
    With luck, all the books will then work.
  • Unable to open library since final release
    I've been using Photos happily through beta, but now with the final release, I can't open the library. It says it's attempted to repair it, but no good. If I go to make a new library, the app crashes immediately.
    I'm also now seeing crashes whenever I try to open my system iMovie library, which seems like it could be related.
    Anyone seen anything like this?
    Quicktime playback was also crashing. However, I've completely shut the machine down and started it up again, and everything is now fine. No idea why.
  • Unable to open SimpleSave software on Windows 7
    I couple of years back I purchased an HP SimpleSave md1000h hard drive and it worked fine.
    I had not used it for a while, and when I plug it in now the software does not initialize.  I have run diagnosit tests and they have passed.  I can see the HP Launcher.exe under Computer (in Explorer) but nothing happens when I try and open it.
    The links to downloading the software in previous posts no longer work. Please help!
    Hello Beach Girl.
    That SimpleSave drive is working and recognized by Windows, it just wont initialize the backup software?
    If so, reloading that software may help but HP does not support those drives anymore.
    Ill send you a private message as well.
  • Unable to open itunes library
    After not using itunes for a few weeks, dialogue box pops up saying unable to open library as it was created by a newer version of itunes. This is my second ipod and I think maybe somehow it's seeing the G1 library, even tho'the G4 ipod set up with no problems and I've downloaded music no problem. I've had a few security problems and scanned the living daylights out of this PC. I've down loaded latest itunes and quicktime but still the same. Short of removing all itunes and starting again (will the software in the ipod sort it if I do?),any help would be gratefully received.
    Hi,
    How do I properly open iTunes now with my library on th external drive. When I open iTunes it seems unable to open Music/ podcasts and audiobooks now?
    iTunes is still looking for the iTunes Folder that you deleted. Just open iTunes and then select iTunes at the top menu bar, then select Preferences. When the Preference windows opens, select Advance, select General and you will see the old location listed. Now click the Change Button and from the popup window, navigate to the New iTunes Library Folder Location on the external drive and select it. Then click the Open button and the new path to the iTunes Library should now be set. Click the OK button to close the Preferences window and If iTunes doesn't open them, just quit & reopen iTunes.
    That should doit.
  • Iphoto is unable to open
    I have been trying to upgrade iPhoto to 9.2 (so I can work photostream) but having problems.
    First I ran my library off a NAS and it couldn't upgrade because it was "unable to repair permissions". Having tried to fix that, I gave up and copied library back onto my local machine.
    Now I am getting "unable to open library" error message.
    HELP please!
    WHat's the exact message?
    The iPhoto Library requires a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) so the NAS is not a suitable environment for it.
  • I am unable to open my aperture 3 application on my macbook pro.  I access my aperture library on a 2tb external hard drive.  The aperture application is not responding and will not even bounce in the dock.
    I use aperature 3. For the past 2 days, I have been unable to open the aperature application.  The icon does not even bounce in the dock.  I keep my aperature library on a 2 tb external hard drive.  I have never had this problem.  Any thoughts?  Thanks
    For the past 2 days, I have been unable to open the aperature application.
    What happened directly before this started? Have you updated software, installed something new, imported new images? Run any applications to clean the mac?
    And what is your Aperture version and MacOS X version? Is your profile signature still current (MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), i just upgraded to lion)?
    Have you checked, if Aperture is still installed in your Applications folder? Does it start, if you click it directly in Applications and not from the Dock?  Does Aperture start, if you click it while holding down the ⌥-key and select a different aperture library not on your 2 TB drive?
  • IPhoto is unable to open this library
    When I try to open my iPhoto library, I get the following message:
    "The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto."
    I click "Upgrade" and then get the following error message:
    "iPhoto is unable to open this library."
    I am using iPhoto 9.2.1, Mac OS 10.7.2, on an old iMac 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB of RAM.  My photos are stored on a Western Digital My World Book 2 network drive.  Multiple computers have accessed this iPhoto library over my home network with no issues.
    This problem just developed this week.  I take all the software updates as they come along, but don't think anything was updated within the past 3 weeks.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark
    Larry,
    The problem seems isolated to one computer.  I am still able to access my iPhoto library from a second computer.  Do you know how I can force iPhoto look to a different library file?  I have tried holding down the Control key while launching iPhoto, but it doesn't seem to work for this.
    Also, I have been able to use the WD drives with my iPhoto library.  The "My World Book 2" has always supported my iPhoto library.  I have a larger WD ShareSpace that recently got a firmware upgrade to support the Mac OS extended (journaled) format.  They call it Hierarchical File System + Journaled (HFS+J).
    Thanks for your help!
    Mark
