Unable to open Messaging Server 6.2 through admin console 5.2
my system is
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-3.05 (built Nov 23 2005)
libimta.dll 6.2-3.05 (built 02:22:19, Nov 23 2005)
Microsoft Windows 2000 version 5.2 (Build 3790)
i installed Sun Java Enterprise System (directory, admin, messaging) servers on my windows 2003 server, all is working fine except:
1- unable to open my messaging server through my admin console 5.2.
when checking the error log file i see
"[05/Jun/2006:10:51:49] failure ( 2624): for host t.est.hotmail.com trying to GET /msg-config/tasks/operation/cgi_root, cgi_scan_headers reports: the CGI program E:\Sun\Server-Root\bin\msg\admin\bin\cgi_root.exe did not produce a valid header (program terminated without a valid CGI header. Check for core dump or other abnormal termination)"
Any clue?
2- When creating a new user through the admin console 5.2, and check the mail account checkbox, i don't get the "mail tab" to complete the needed information, and therefore the newly created user is not an active email account as mainly the mailhost attribute has not been created for the account
Is this related to the problem in point 1?
NOTE 1: i ran cmm_dssetup.pl before configuring the messaging server and selected schema 1
NOTE 2: i downloaded the software from sun.com, didn't register it yet as i'm in the testing phase

Oh, my.....
1. The Directory Console is not very useful, for anything in Messaging 6. The MTA is configured via editing files, and the mail store is better configured using the configutil utility.
2. You SHOULD NOT attempt to create users with the Directory Console. They won't work. Use either the command-line tools provided (comm-admin), or use the Delegated Admin tool provided.

The environment had been up and running for many months, have done many successfull restarts occasionally. But after an ungraceful shutdown (database connection was down and managed server wouldn't shutdown through admin console) of the managed server & admin server, the startup through admin console stopped working. No configurations had been modified and we have two other systems working with similar configurations.
The log is stating that "<The admin server could not be reached at http://10.123.456.78:7001.>" but it actually is listening at that IP and port and I can connect to it with other means. I'm able to ping the hostname, IP, localhost etc... and network connection shouldn't be an issue even though the log states so.
Does anyone have any ideas what is broken? Thanks for any help in advance!Hi,
With script I meant the startManagedWebLogic.cmd script (on Windows). The managed server is running on the same machine as the admin server.
The hosts file has also been checked, it has the same content as two other environments which are working fine. But anyway we tried adding the IP & hostname there, but it didn't fix the issue. Nothing is wrong with the DNS either.
I'm also able to ping the address:port, with the command you gave I get the following result:

When I'm trying to restart the managed server through admin console (on my laptop), I can see on the server side that there is a connection to the IP:port of admin server from my laptop's IP:

I again want to say that no changes have been done to any configurations in the environment. I have 2 exchange server "A" and "B". Server "A" have "Test1" database and Server "B" have "Test2" database. I tried move some mailboxes from "Test1" to "Test2"
but sometimes mailboxes cannot finished and display below error. I used Domain administrator to move mailboxes and grant "Manage full access permission" to these mailboxes but still failed. Finally, I clear the failed move request
and repeat the move mailboxes action several times. Then, the move request completed without error. Have any suggestion? Please help. Thank you!

This could happen if there is any mailbox which has occupied more space than its normal quota allocated.
As suggested by geo try to clean all the DB's first
You can probably run Get-Mailboxdatabase | Clean-Mailboxdatabase which will clean all of your DB's wait for some time until it gets completed
Also try running the command with the MRS server parameter switch and specify a CAS FQDN and see the results if it gets succeded

Some users use a shared mailbox (IT-DESK) together to store all information in one mailbox. This users do not have an own mailbox. They login with their AD-Account, start Outlook and configure Outlook to access the IT-DESK mailbox. Credentials are used from
AD-Account with IT-DESK Mailbox. This works fine for all 6 users. But if they are all online, there a problems to access the public Folders. Outlook Shows error message: "Cannot expand the Folder. Your Server Administrator has limited the number of items
you can open simultaneously. Try closing Messages you have opened or removing attachments and Images from unsent Messages you are composing." Close and restart Outlook doesn't help.
If other colleguas Close outloook, this user can acccess the publicfolder.

PublicFolderDatabase PF_01_2013 on SRV0101 (with publicfoldermailboxes MBX01 structure, MBX02 Folders and MBX03 Folders)

From the error message, it seems that Mapi session exceed the limit.
Please check the registry key MaxObjsPerMapiSession under the following location.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
The changes become effective when the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is restarted. Before making any changes in registry, please take the backup of the registry.
Besides, please check the application log to see if there is any related events.

I have installed from linux.x64_11gR1_database_1013.zip
An old post said there should be files at $ORACLE_HOME/precomp/mesg/pcb*.msg (1st file with pc* is pccus.msb)
An old post suggested I had to install the CLIENT as well as the server ?
BUT I do not see how to install the client, It seems it is now included with 11g ?

hey folks i've seen a bunch of guys asking this same question on another threads with no reply, is this a OS bug or something? from time to time i received SMS from my contacts and sometimes I am not able to open them and i got a message: "unable to open. message format not supported Symbian" even though i can read some text from the preview list.
any workaround?

Unable to open message. Format not supported.
This problem has already been discussed here however I can provide some more detailed information. Our company runs a network of automatic telemetry stations. The stations send short messages containing some data to the users. Even though the message contains only a plain text and can be displayed on most mobile phones without any problem, it can't be displayed on some Nokia phones, e.g.. N8 and 2630. The model 2630 shows "Message cannot be displayed". The N8 shows "Unable to open message. Format not supported", but the beginning of the message (preview) is readable in the inbox.
On the sender side the Wavecom wireless CPU model Q2686 is used. I tried to send various messages using AT+CMGS command but regardless of the content they cannot be displayed on N8 and 2360.
Please help. If anyone is interested in this problem I can demonstrate it by sending an 'undisplayable' message to his mobile phone number.Hi,

about me i change to another GSM operator, and its work now.
i think u can add an access point manually, go to ur GSM Operator and take the setup details, and from conective > setting > Destinations > Add new acc. pt.

I could not restore mailbox from RecoveryDB.

Hi,
We use Oracle 8.1.7 on HP-UX and got today quite a lot of error :
SQL-02100: Unable to open message file (SQL-02113)
What could be the problem?
From what I found in the internet :
SQL-02100 Out of memory (i.e., could not allocate)
Cause: SQLLIB was unable to allocate enough memory to execute the program.
Action: Allocate more memory to the user session, then rerun the program. If the error persists, call Oracle Customer Support for assistance.
SQL-02113 Unable to open message file
Cause: SQLLIB was unable to find or open the SQLLIB message file, SQL*.MSB.
Action: Check that this file exists in the MESG directory and that it is readable.
But I dont know much detail about that. Anyone can suggest what should be checked?
I compared the .../rdbms/mesg folder with other 8.1.7 installation and it is the same (number of files, permissions).
Please help.

after opening an email I knew to be a phishing attempt, I forwarded it to my bank's spam/phishing email address. I did NOT click any link in the suspicious email. only forwarded it.
now when I try to send an email I get the following error message:

I can't find a temp directory. where is this and how do I fix it?Try to start *Windows* in safe mode with networking enabled.

Uploading war through admin console for a deployer-role user

We have a weblogic 9 server installed in a linux machine. We have created two users - one administrator and another deployer. Admin console is accessed through an external machine. When logged in as an administrator, we are able to upload a war into the server from our local machine. But for the deployer we are unable to find the "Browse" button to upload the war. But he is able to browse the server machine and upload the war from the server.
Is it possible for the deployer to upload a war from his local machine to the server through admin console?
Could you please help me out....

Setting 'transport-guarantee' to CONFIDENTIAL or INTEGRAL in web.xml. With that set, WebLogic Server will automatically redirect a client to the HTTPS port if the original request was over HTTP.
The 'transport-guarantee' element specifies the type of communication with the client application on the WebLogic server.
The value of this element is either NONE, INTEGRAL, or CONFIDENTIAL. NONE means that the application does not require any transport guarantees. A value of INTEGRAL means that the application requires that the data sent between the client and server be sent in such a way that it cannot be changed in transit. CONFIDENTIAL means that the application requires that the data be transmitted in a way that prevents other entities from observing the contents of the transmission. The presence of the INTEGRAL or CONFIDENTIAL flag indicates that the use of SSL is required.
So I dont think it is possible for now.

Thanks.First of all you remove your war or ear file.
Don't take jar from outside. Take the all jar from OIM machine, used by xlWebApp. You don't need to download any extra jar if it is simple web application based on struts.
Rebuild with your war or ear with new jar. Than just try it.
