Unable to open notification center fully?

Greetings, all.
I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and when trying to use Notification center, I find that it does not work. I can try to use the trackpad gesture, and I get a situation similar to this: http://i.imgur.com/Ow5PD.jpg
If I click the NC button in the top status bar, it does nothing. I am running a 2011 MacBook Air, newly upgraded to Mountain Lion. 13". Anyone else having this issue, or know how it can be fixed?
Thanks!
matt.

One more thought - assuming you're using your machine's built-in display, it might be worth checking System Preferences ---> Display and making sure "Best for Built-In Display" is checked.
Clearly there's no attempt to assign blame with these suggestions, only to help resolve the issue.

Notification Center and Control Center just don´t open. I swip over the screen, as closed to the end of the display as i can, and normally it works, but sometime it just doesn´t work. I tried to reproduce this bug, but i don´t know why it works sometimes, and sometimes not.
I´m using the iphone 5s with the newest ios7.
Has anyone noticed the same problem?

  • Unable to open notification from Order

    Hi All,
We have created order and created notifications and added to the order in the Objects tab.
We are able to open all other notifications in the order, but we can not open one notification. Even this notification we are unable to open with T code IW23 or IW22.
This happens with one particular notification only.
Kindly let us know what could be the cause. Is there any SAP notes available.
    Thanks in advance
    Surya

    Hello Surya
Any error message or short dump when user tries to open this notification?
    The possible reason woudl be:
    - the inconsistancy during notification creation or assignment
Need to know further sympton to confirm it
    - the linkage between nofication and order is missing
you may check in table AUFK (if notification number field is correctly filled) and table QMEL the order field is correctly filled.
Hope the information is helpful and wish you happy new year.

  • Bug fix for can not open notification center, missing OneDrive functionality and missing standard pins from quick access

(this post was previously titled:  Quick Access: Anoying extra navigation to browse to desktop etc. - User space should be under Quick Access - please relocate or add such an option to move Desktop, Documents etc. to be listed under Quick Accesss)
Quick Access: Anoying extra navigation to browse to desktop etc. - User space should be under Quick Access - please relocate or add such an option to move Desktop, Documents etc. to be listed under Quick Access
So depending on the out-of-the-factory solution - whether giving priority to back compatibility (desktop list under PC) - the only place in Windows 10 to find it (please add by default at Quick Access) ... this think about removing then the redundant link
which be under This PC then.
There are already options now - in Explorer > View Folder Options > General to control the provisioning of the concepts in the User navigational space for Quick Access, Libraries:
    1) So may be put an option so at least you can set Explorer to show the user space folders Desktop, Documents, Links, Videos, Pictures, Downloads under the Quick Access concept (where it now naturally belongs) rather than under the technical concept "This
PC) - where you would normally expand to browse drives.
    2) Another option: If you do not care to expand drives - also add a provisioning option for hiding the This PC object (if all User Space concept are now available at Quick Access).

Quick Access: Anoying extra navigation to browse to desktop etc. - User space should be under Quick Access - please relocate or add such an option to move Desktop, Documents etc. to be listed under Quick Access.
Had to redo my roaming profile - i.e. delete it and start all over. It was a legacy profile from i.e. Windows 8.
OneDrive was not working - notification center not working - and apparently the documents, pictures etc. folder was not pinned under Quick Access.
After deleting and recreating the profile everything was inplace - including the user space folders (documents, pictures etc) listed under Quick Acess which I complained about in the previous post.

  • Notification Center for iPhone 5 and iPad Mini Disagree

I have an iPhone 5 and iPad Mini - both updated to iOS 7. They both have the same settings for what is supposed to show and not show in Notification Center. However they don't show the same notifications on the second "All" page. And neither show anything on the second "All" page if I open Notification Center from the Lock Screen.
Another "funny" thing - the description of the day's weather (since they are both residing in the same city) differ in the descriptions. Now I realize that iOS 7 was just released and that Apple's servers are probably going nuts - but you would think that they would both display the same information (again with the same app settings).
BTW - Has anyone found a good website tutorial about Notification Center and what all the controls in Settings actually do? Thanks.

They are both set to use location services for the weather app?
And you are viewing the same location on each?

  • TS4000 How do I get reminders to remind me before the due date? To stay in the Notification Center?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard. At first, I was excited to use the Notification Center with Reminders feature--it seemed like a more convenient version of Google Tasks, which I use as a catch-all to do list. In Google Tasks, you can clearly see an overview of what tasks you still have to complete, what's ahead, what's overdue, etc.
So I spent awhile copying the tasks into Reminders (which I resented--I don't really see why I can integrate my Google Calendar with Apple Calendar (or whatever you call it) but I can't integrate the tasks). Then, I opened notification center and nothing showed up. After awhile, I realized that your "reminders" only show up the day they're due.
I don't know about other people, but I need to be reminded about things I have to do well before they're actually due. Constantly.
Furthermore, what the heck is up with putting in a "Remind me on" field without putting in a "Due on" field?
This COULD be a great, convenient application that would help me keep my life organized. Something I would come to depend on.
Instead, it lacks some crucial, very basic, easily-implemented but not-thought-of features. As a consequence, I just wasted a bunch of time trying to get the thing to work, and I will be sticking with Google Tasks / GCal / Dropbox, thanks. Unless, of course, someone has a useful suggestion that will help me solve my problem(s).

Use BusyCal instead of iCal. Reminders will appear as you want them to.

  • Can't open Control Center on the Lockscreen after using Siri

    Hello everyone,
I have got a little bug since iOS 8 and still be there in iOS 8.1 on my iPhone 5S (32Go).
After requesting Siri something and get back to the lockscreen, i can't open the Control Center but I can still open Notification Center. After lock my phone and turn it on, I can open again the Control Center.
Is there someone else with this little bug ?
    Thanks you all
    Bye

No, I do not. I even tested it as soon as I saw your post. With the phone locked, I asked Siri to do something, after tapping to close it, it went back to the lock screen, I swiped upwards and Control Center came right up. Are you swiping from off the screen slightly when you start?
If a restart and reset have not fixed it, then the next two steps in user troubleshooting are restore from backup, then restore as new.

  • Getting to notification center without trackpad

I am using my macbook pro with an external monitor when i am at home. So basically i a have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard with my macbook shut. There are a few things I miss with the trackpad like getting to the notification center and the app exposè. Is there a way to get there with magic mouse? Are there any keycommands for these?

  • Mail & Notification Center not working

Not getting any alerts/badges when receiving mail via the Mac Mail application. Here's everything I have done tested so far:
    - tested by sending email from another account, not via the mac mail app
    - uninstalled Growl, rebooted then reinstalled Growl
    - opened Notification Center prefs and turned all off, rebooted then turned all on
    - Made sure that Gen Prefs in Mail app have notifications set for any mailbox...also tested with inbox only
    - set mail account to POP and IMAP with same result
I've made sure Mail was running in the background and still no notification when Mail arrives. Also disabled my mail acct and added an iCloud account and still no new notifications.
    Am I missing something?

Thanks andregotz for your suggestion. I removed my personal email adress from Adressbook and all new mail now appears in NC. That is to say, when the mail app IS running. It would be nice to receive a notification in NC for new mail when the mail app is NOT running! Calendar works that way too. I receive notifications in NC for every new calendar item even when the calendar app is not running.

  • Notification Center design flaw

When i open notification center i cannot access or see the options button at the bottom of the pane. They are right behind my recycle bin. My dock seems to cover the notification pane stopping me from accessing this. Obviously i can access the options from Settings but surely this is quite a big design flaw ? God knows where my Twitter option has gone...
Is this supposed to be like this or can i put the options at the top of the bar somehow ?

    Send Feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html.
I had to move my Dock to the bottom of the screen and make it stop hiding to verify what you saw. Seems like if the Dock is there, it should either slide the Dock over or stop the Notifications short.
To add a screen shot, you have to click on the little camera icon. Pasting the image looks like it should work, but doesn't.

  • Why do I have two degree marks in Notification Center?

When I open Notification Center I always see two degree marks and it is like:
    Temperature: 8°°C,
    maximum: 7°°C.
Where is the problem and what should I do?

It's supposed to be telling you what the current temperature is and what the expected high temperature for the day is. Sometimes, they seem to be out of sync. I believe the problem is with the provider of the weather data, Yahoo. I suspect, but have not good evidence yet, that one piece of data, the current temp, is getting updated more frequently.

  • Laggy notification center in lockscreen - iPad Air

I experience a low frame rate when I open notification center without unlocking. After unlocking it's fine. Is that a iOS7.1 issue?

Not as far as I know.  The Notification Center has been implemented extremely poorly, IMHO.  Its limitations make it basically worthless to me.  Let Apple know how you feel:

I cannot open Notification Center by the icon on the menu bar, while two-finger gesture can. But I cannot close that, and cmd+tab, space switching, dock don't work, until "killall -HUP Dock". Well, the error message is still there.
