Unable to open or view: "For the best experience..." problem

My system is Mac OS X (Browsers: Safari, Chrome, Firefox).
I have been trying to browse Adobe's Interactive PDF Showcase for examples of professional output. Instead of the PDF opening up for viewing, I get, "For the best experience, open this PDF portfolio in Acrobat 9 or Adobe Reader 9, or later." or the same error with "...Acrobat X or Adobe Reader X, or later."  But my current reader version is Adobe Reader XI (11.0.09), which certainly qualifies as "later". What's going on?

Have you tried accessing planning directly via 8300 port:
http://<serverName>:8300/HyperionPlanning ? and see if the application is listed thr.
Are you using admin Id to log in? if not then try using that one. If you dont have the access to that application you wont be able to see it via workspace.

    I have flash but Adobe still won't open my documents.

  • Some elements of downloaded PDF not showing (Error: "For the best experience, open this PDF portfolio...")

    I'm on a PC attempting to view a downloaded PDF. It's an application so the document is generated by our online system and aggregates info from the applicant as well as documents they uploaded. I can see most of the final product but the document uploaded by the applicant gives the error "For the best experience, open this PDF portfolio in Acrobat 9 or Adobe Reader 9, or later." I downloaded the latest Reader (DC) and when I searched to download the latest Flash Player I got a message that it should be up-to-date since I use Chrome. I've seen other folks having this problem; any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your response! The document appears the same either way. I downloaded the file and have opened it with both Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    Hi,
    For the first time I am aware of a user has received a PDF that cannot be opened in Preview.
    The pdf opens to a splash screen showing, "For the best experience, open this PDF portfolio in Acrobat 9 or Adobe Reader 9, or later." There is a large button showing " Get Adobe Reader 9"
    It is a 15Mb document but we cannot get beyond the splash screen in Preview so I have had to install Reader 9 for the user.
    Turns out the document is a very basic slideshow. It seems this is a new (to me) format of PDF which forces users to install Reader.
    Is there any way these image portfolios can be opened within Preview so I don't have to install Adobe Reader bloatware again?

    I doubt it, but perhaps others have better info...

    Personally I have never found Preview to be a complete substitute for Adobe Reader and always have both on my machine to deal with pdfs, which have a large number of possible variations in terms of version, features, and encodings.

  • Unable to find a fix for the skipping song problem

    I have posted on this board a number of times now trying to find a solution to the skipping purchased music problem.
    I have tried all the links. Restoring, reloading the itunes library. I have been to the apple store, and spoken with the tech guys, and they have reformatted my ipod, and even uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. Nothing seems to fix the problem.
    This is not an uncommon problem, as you can see with my numerous posts on several different topics many users are or have experienced this problem. Why has apple not come up with a permanent solution? All of their so called "fixes" are nothing more than a short term remedy.
    I have remained calm when speaking to customer support on the phone and when interacting with the "professionals" at the apple store. I can tell you that I am totally lost and completely bewildered with the complete lack of support regarding this problem.
    Can anyone suggest how I should proceed? Of course the mini is out of warranty...which leads me to believe that when you are out of warranty apple could care less about you!

    I do not whether it works for the skipping purchased music problem, but it does for non-purchased music in my case.
    You must reformat your iPod (please note format does not equal Restore).
    For Window computer
    Go to folder “My Computer”
    Hope you can see your iPod there and right click on the iPod
    Choose “Format”. Ensure the settings are at “Default” and that “Quick Format” is not checked
    Now select “Format”
    Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
    In case you do not manage to do a “Format” on a window computer, try to use some 3rd party disk utility software, e.g.“HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool”.

    how can I create a defaut view for the MS Project Server 2010 client?
    I saved a template and set a default view under File -> Options ->Project View. I also did the same in the checked-out enterprise global. If I then close the client and re-open it my default view changes back again to the previous one (not the view
    I set as a default view).
    What explains this behaviour and what can I do? Any hints?

    The view you selected by clicking File > Options > Project View is the default view for every new project you create from a blank project template.  This is a global option, so setting it from the checked out Enterprise Global file serves no purpose. 
    When you select a view as your default view, you will see that view applied to the blank project that is opened when you launch Microsoft Project 2010, and you will see it applied if you create new blank projects.  If you create enterprise templates for
    people to use in your organization, you should simply apply the view to the template that you want as the default so that users will see this view immediately when they create a new project from the template.  In addition, if you apply a view to an open
    project, close and check in the project, and then reopen the project, you will see the last view applied in that project (as Guillaume correctly points out).
    Beyond this, there is no method possible for the Project Server administrator to specify a default view for the Microsoft Project application used by the project managers in your organization.  This is an option each PM must set.  Hope this helps.

    From the iTunes menu bar try View>Show View Options.  Make sure what you want to see is checked and what you don't is unchecked.  You can do this (may need to do this) for any playlists, your main Library, etc.

    I think there is problem with your IE Installation. Can you check this issue with another machine?

    Not sure what you mean by the "view" for the timeline.
    You can choose View>Wrapping Timeline to wrap the timeline.
    Double cliccking a clip in the timeline will open the Clip Trimmer for precise work.

    All Im very new to Oracle DRM and Im trying to get the app setup on Windows server running SQL Server 2008.  When I try to login to the Web Client I keep getting this error.

    This might be due to The 'Oracle Instance' path may not have been set to a path relative to the 'CSS Bridge Host' (i.e. the Foundation Services machine) on the Configuration > Host Machines > CSS > General tab of the DRM Configuration Utility.
    if this is the case then
    1. Open the DRM Configuration Console.
    2. Go to the Configuration > Host Machines > CSS > General tab of the DRM Configuration Utility.
    3. Ensure that the path in 'Oracle Instance' has been set relative to the 'CSS Bridge Host' (i.e. the Foundation Services machine defined in 'CSS Bridge Host').
    4. If corrections are made to 'Oracle Instance' then restart the DRM services to pick up the change.

  • Everytime I attempt to open iPhoto, a message comes up saying, "iPhoto is unable to open this library," and the only option if gives is to quit. How do I get it to open?

    When I select iPhoto to open the application, a message comes up saying, "iPhoto is unable to open this library," and the only option available is to quit. I don't know what library iPhoto is attempting to open, but all I want to do is just start iPhoto over from scratch.

    Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' to find out what Library is in question. Use the 'Create Library' option to make a new one.
    To try and repair the damaged one:
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    how are plans about a uix view for the Toystore, which currently uses JSPs?
    This would be nice to see some of the concepts, the adf developers thought of.
    The simple tutorials aren't going deep enough (one of them doesn't do even a commit to database after editing a row...)

    Based on my knowledge, CAS proxy can only from later version to previous version.
    Some like CAS2013 to CAS2010/2007, CAS2013 to CAS2013.
