Unable to open organizer in elements 9

Organizer will not open when I click on the Icon. The process is running however when I check Task Manager. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Elements 9 with the same results. The Edit Icon does work and I am able to open any of my photos individually to edit and print.

The same thing is happening to me today. I have been an Elements 8 user for years, but today when I clicked the icon i got the initial screen, but I could not access the editor or organizer.
Then when iI called I found that Adobe does not support Elements. Bummer.

• I am unable to open Organizer or Photo Editor this morning of elements 12 and don't know why.

I am unable to open Organizer or Photo Editor in elements 12 this morning and don't know why. Any ideas??

OK,
Good to hear that you are running at the moment.
The causes for organizer and the editor to stop working are usually different. For both to be affected, I would tend to suspect disk space problems. Probably a good idea to check that you have plenty of free space.
Please let us know if you have problems again and we can try troubleshooting.

• Unable to open organizer ?? Windows XP PSE 5.0

Unable to open organizer, editor seems to be ok. A few seconds after I click on organizer this message appears " The action you have requested could not be completed because the application is not responding. It may still be loading or waiting for a response from You." This problem first occured soon after attacking a new Kodak video camera to my computer. The software that comes with the camera, uploaded from the camers, is Media Impression by ArcSoft. The JPG files on my computer now have the ArcSoft logo included with the file names. When I click on a JPG file, I get this message: "Windows cannot access the specitied device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item." Any help will certainly be appreciated.

Try the Firefox SafeMode.
''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.''
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
# You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
# Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.
• Unable to open CR2 files elements 10

I know this problem has been disscussed on multiple occassions but i am completely baffled.
Recently elements has been unable to open any new CR2 files saying they are the wrong file type. The reason i am baffled is when i bought the software (month or two ago) i could open and edit CR2 files successfully, now elements can't open any of the recent CR2 files taken and will only open certain CR2 files that i have had stored on my computer, all of which previously worked.
The Camera RAW plugin is up todate (6.6) and i have tested the SD card in another computer and worked fine. I have tried different cables in my computer and other computers in case the cable was the problem and they seem to check out fine. I have manually downloaded the plug in and checked if the plug in patch was in the correct folder, which it is, as well as re-installing the programme all to no success.
I just cant understand why the problem has started now after originally working fine. Can anyone provide some advice?

Hi,
I connect to the PC by cable. I have checked the Canon codecs and it appears to be up to date.
The photos seem to transfer to the computer fine (they at least appear on the computer, with the icon showing a preview of the image) the problem is opening them in the editor.
I shoot in RAW and JPEG and i am able to open and edit all the JPEGs.
As you say the 1000D has been supported for some time and a couple of months ago when i bought elements i was able to edit the RAW files, the problem has occurred in the last month which is the strange thing.
I cant see the cable being the problem seeing as all the JPEGs open fine, and i have used the cable to connect other cameras up to the computer with no problem.

• Unable to open Organizer

I am using PSE 8 on a 64 bit windows 7 platform. Installed without a problem. Worked fine for a while. The Editor works, but the organizer will not open from start choice or from inside the Editor. This was a new catalog, not a conversion. I was still adding pictures to the organizer and organizing them. Not I am stumped.

Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the PSE Organizer might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash. Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the problem:

• PSE 9.0 unable to open organizer. App error (0xc0000005)

This problem began a few days ago. When I try to open the organizer I get the error message. I can open the editor and have tried to open the organizer from the editor with no luck. I have read alot of posts online from alot of others with the same issues, however there doesn't seem to be any clear answers. Any ideas?

Hi Mary Jane,
Yes, the fact that you have Premiere Elements as well does make a difference. Both Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements use the same organizer. If you only uninstall one of the two, the organizer remains and is not removed until you uninstall the second product.
The easiest way to uninstall the products is via the Windows 7 Control Panel.-> Programs -> Uninstall Programs = Programs and Features.
Right click on Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and select uninstall - follow the prompts to complete the uninstall
Right click on Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and select Uninstall - follow the prompts to complete the uninstall
Now insert your media, click on the install button for elements and follow the prompts.
Repeat for Premiere Elements.
Regarding your Windows updates, the optional ones can sometimes be important - some are security patches for IE11 (if you use that). Sometimes they are video driver updates which can affect your display.
I hope that helps. I'm afraid that I'm about to go off the air. My system needs a reload because of the patches and I live in the UK and it is getting late. My brain needs a rest. I will catch up with you tomorrow.
Good luck.
Brian

• With PSE 7 Unable to Open Organizer, Editor, Create, Share

I am new to PSE7. I installed the program in Jun and have only played with it some. Last night I used the program with no problem. This morning I opened the program and the Welcome Screen comes up. I am able to sign into photoshop.com. However, when I click on Organizer, Editor, Create or Share everything disappears. Can anyone help me?
Thank you, Linda

Thank you for your response. I tried step 4. When I clicked on the link
I get an error message, "Error "Licensing for this product has stopped
working" when you start any Adobe Creative Suite 3 application." I am a true
computer novice and I did not know if this applies to PSE7 or if Adobe
Creative Suite a different application. Should I follow the steps that pop up
from Adobe Tech Support or should I start with step 1 and try the steps in
your link?
Thank you so much for your help,
Linda

• Unable to open Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements

Yesterday I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on my Computer (Windows 7, 64-bit) and first everything was alright.
But after a few hours I was not able to open one of them again. All I get is an error message to re-install the program again because of configuration error, "error:1".
I had that problem before and i tried about three times to re-install them correctly. Last time I used the compability mode to install and that was the only time they opened at least once.
Any ideas?

Adobe hasn't said whether it officially supports PSE 7 on Windows 7. But reports are starting to trickle in that PSE 7 works fine on Windows 7 for most people, though a couple people have reported crashes. My PSE 7 seems to work fine, though I primarily use PSE 8 now. This is all very preliminary, and we'll learn more as more people post here.

• Unable to open my Photoshop Elements from desktop icon.

Unable to access my desktop icon for Photoshop Elements 7 that was working prior to some minor repair I had done with my computer. How can I access my Photoshop other than by the desktop icon?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
maxie

Try making a new desktop icon for the Editor and delete the old one.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New à Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Editor application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
C: à Program Files à Adobe à Photoshop Elements 7.0
Within the Photoshop Elements 7 folder find PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe (with the icon)
Select that file and click Next.
Then click Finish.
