Unable to open OS 9.2.1 from within OS X 10.4

I need to install the latest G4 firmware 4.2.8 in order to fit a new Sonnet G4 Encore 1.8GHz processor upgrade.
I tried to install from the Classic environment within OS X 10.4 but OS 9.2 refuses to open- it just 'hangs' there midway so to speak after the CD/DVD Drive/USB icon appears?
Is there an OS 9 extensions problem that I am unaware of?
I downloaded the firmware and dragged the image across into my Applications OS 9 folder and booted from the OS 9.2 CD. I then ran the installation process and followed instructions. The only problem that seem to occur was that at the end of the installation it told me to shut down from a drive rather than from the CD-would this have made a difference?
I reset using the button next to the reset at the front of the G4 and
heard the chime/tone.
Not sure if it all worked because the ROM version in System profile still seems to show Boot ROM version 3.2.4fl-or have I got this all wrong?

The G4 v. 4.2.8 firmware update can be installed only when the machine is booted to OS 9.1 or later from a writeable volume (this usually means from an internal hard drive), and the updater run from that same volume. The firmware update can not be installed using Classic (because the machine is then booted to OSX), nor when it is booted to a CD (because a CD is not a writeable volume).
If you have OS 9.1 or later installed on the hard drive, boot to it - select it in OSX's System Preferences > Startup Disk, then restart. Then try running the firmware updater.
Note - when installing a firmware update, it helps to disconnect all externals except monitor, keyboard, and mouse; and to boot using the Mac OS Base or Mac OS All set of extensions (this can be selected in OS 9's Extensions Manager control panel once the machine has been booted to OS 9 - or by holding down the Spacebar while booting to OS 9).

On the other PC I also tried adding 136.18.70.189 to
tools - internet options - security - local internet - sites - advanced - add this web
site to the zone as http://136.18.70.189
But it did not work
Please help with any ideas

Based on the error message, I recommend to stop all the crawl process in SharePoint search service application by using PowerShell and then check the results:

The deadlock error will occurs when there are too many overlapping crawls, so I recommend to schedule the crawl to not overlap in SharePoint and add more crawl components if needed.

If above cannot work, please also check the ULS log and SQL server for detailed error messages.

That is correct. the G1 X will be supported in a 7.0 dot release. The camera is currently supported in Lightroom 4.

Saving/Opening documents to SharePoint 2013 from within Office 2010 applications

I was hoping that Office 2010 would work nicely together in terms of saving to and opening documents from SharePoint 2013. Alas, I was disappointed and somewhat surprised to see that opening/saving documents in SharePoint from within Office still
involves copying, pasting and hacking the URL of the document library in the Save or Open dialogue box. I was fully expecting that Office 2010 would have display some sort of SharePoint navigation so you could view your sites and document libraries in a similar
way to folders. A mature document management system this ain't!
Anyone have any advice on how to improve the Open/Save to/from SharePoint experience in Office 2010? I'm open to the idea of Office add-ins whether third party or official Microsoft.

An example scenario: I create a new document or receive a document, I'm in the document, and I want to publish the document to a document library in SharePoint. At the moment I would have to save the document, load up SharePoint, navigate to the document
library and then go through the upload process.
I should really be able to, from within Word, select File - Save to SharePoint (say) and then be able to navigate to the document library I want to publish to. Really basic DMS stuff that I'm surprised isn't there!
Similar thing to opening a document. I should be able to Open from SharePoint, navigate to the document library via some sort of navigation box, and open it.
Thoughts appreciated.

Unable to open PDF output (PDF downloaded from Interactive Report--APEX)

I'm getting below error while opening a PDF file downloaded from an interactive report (APEX).
Adobe reader cound not open "TEST.pdf"because it is either not supportd file or because the file has been damaged.

Steps of pdf Printing of Report from FOP:
1) Download and unzip the following needed files in D:\Apex_fop directory.
2) Open your command prompt .
Change the directory to D:\Apex_fop\cocoon-2.1.11.
Set the Java_Home environment variable as: set JAVA_HOME= C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_21
then type build war
3) After getting the prompt back as D:>Apex_fop>cocoon-2.1.11>
Copy coocon.war file from the folder D:\Apex_fop\cocoon-2.1.11\build\cocoon.
Paste this file into webapps subdirectory in main tomcat directory having path as D:\APEX_FOP\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps.....place it in the top
level of webapps directory.
4) Now just startup tomcat as D:>APEX_FOP>apache-tomcat-6.0.26>bin>startup.bat
The cocoon.war file will automatically uncompressed as directory.
5) To change the port of apache tomcat , edit apache-tomcat-6.0.26\conf\server.xml & change port attribute of Connector element from 8080 to 8181.
Just check whether Tomcat is running or not as http://localhost:8181/
& to check cocoon type http://localhost:8181/cocoon/
6) Now copy fop_post directory & paste it undes new cocoon directory in webapps having path as D:\APEX_FOP\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps

7) Now you need to do some apex settings as follows:
In APEX, just log in as ADMIN into apex/apex_admin and went to Instance Settings and did the following:
- Print Serverr: Standard Support
- Print Server Protocol: HTTP
- Print Server Host Address:localhost
- Print Server Port: 8181
- Print Server Script: /cocoon/fop_post
In your APEX application, in the Regions section, Click on the Print link next to your report and do the following settings:
- Enable Report Printing: Yes
- Link Label: Print
- Response Header: Report Settings
- View File As: Attachment
- Output Format: PDF
- Report Layout: Default Report Layout
- Print URL: f?p=&APP_ID.:1:&SESSION.:FLOW_XMLP_OUTPUT_R1063230002781575
8) Open up the Report Page and click Print , You will get the pdf report.

Problem with Pages. I have recently been unable to open Pages, or any documents from Pages on my iMac. Pages seems to be in the Cloud and can open a list of the documents in Pages, but can't open any of those documents.

Recently unable to open Pages or any documents therein. It seems to be stuck in the Cloud. Although I can open a list of the documents I can not open any of the documents.

The answer is simple... If you want to remedy this, then don't save them as PDFs.
Word opens Word and text documents. Not PDFs.

Opening files through mini bridge, from within photoshop.

When opening files/images from within photoshop use adobe mini bridge, the files open slowly with a long delay?
Can't figure out why, but when files are open directly from photoshop it is lightning fast.
Running on a iMac OS X Yosemite
Version 10.10.2

This may have to do with some of the bugs Apple introduced into Yosemite. They are working on a fix. Can't really think of much else, other than make sure everything is up to date. Maybe someone with more knowledge of Mini Bridge will find this post.

Unable to open camera raw 6.0 from Bridge CS5

I just Installed photoshop CS5 and I am unable to view and open my NEF files in Camera Raw from Bridge CS5. It worked perfectly fine with Bridge CS4 and Camera Raw 5.1.0.30. Anyone has any suggestion other than using my old Bridge CS4. I have mas OS X 10.6.3 installed on my computer.

You'll need to confirm that the Camera Raw plug-in was correctly installed so that both Photoshop _AND_ Bridge can access it. Unable to open Camera Raw 6.7 from Bridge CS5

I am unable to view the RAW images that were taken on my D90 in Bridge CS5. They show up blank with the Camera Raw logo in the center and "NEF" in the upper left hand corner. This is the first time this problem has occured because I was (and still) able to view RAW images taken from my old D40. I have tried everything including updating my Camera Raw to version 6.7.0.339, but to no avail! I have no error messages, btw. I am operating Bridge and Photoshop CS5 on Windows 7 (32-bit). All you need to do now is to refresh (purge) the cache. Everything is fine with your install.
That the right version of the ACR Plug-in is installed in the correct location is proven by the screen shot of the "About Camera Raw" splash screen. It would not show up in "About Plug-in" if it were not in the correct location.
I also take it only one instance of Camera Raw shows up in your list.
I see absolutely nothing in your first screen shot that would prevent you from sliding your mouse over to the "Purge Cache for This Folder" menu command and then letting go of the mouse. That's all it takes. That menu item does not appear to be grayed out. The only thing that is not clear is whether you do in fact have a folder selected.
The reason you see the generic NEF icons without preview is that the cache for that folder was built when you still had an older version of ACR that did not support your camera. That's why the cache needs to be purged (refreshed) now.
Humor me for a second and perform the following experiment: Select all the generic icons you see in the Content panel in Bridge and right-click on them in order to call the "Purge Cache for Selection" command you had discovered earlier and mentioned in a previous post. You should see the icons turn into thumbnails before your eyes.
Now you can just use the "Purge Cache for this Folder" command on any other folder containing generic NEF icons without having to select the individual icons at all.
If you already have a bunch of folders harboring generic NEF icons, go ahead and use the central Purge Cache command in Bridge preferences to purge the entire Bridge cache on your disk in one fell swoop.

Unable to open multiple images in preview from finder

I open a folder that contains a lot of .jpg photo files and select all and then open from the finder menu. In Leopard all the images are opened in one instance of preview. But after upgrade to Snow Leopard, only one or two of the selected images are opened. Will there be a fix for this?

I found another thread on this - the problem seems to be restricted to .jpg files downloaded after the upgrade to 10.6. I will try the workaround of deleting the files and then dragging them back from the trash.

I have recently bought a nikon d5300 camera and cannot open any raw files using elements 12 or lightroom 5.3 which are both recommended for the new camera and its raw formats?

What exactly do you mean, please describe in detail, "cannot open any raw files". What steps are you trying in Lightroom, and what happens when you try those steps in Lightroom, and what is the error message.
Did you use any Nikon software at any time in the handling of these photos, before you try to open them in Photoshop Elements, or import them into Lightroom?

Unable to open a .zip file (Winzip) from the KM Repository

Hi.... while i am trying to open a .zip file (i.e., Winzip file) placed in the KM Repository.. I am getting an error -
"Cannot open file : it does not appear to be a valid archieve."
Is it someting related to the Winzip version ?
Can somebody plz tell whr the problem could be..
