Unable to open Pages docs in Pages 5.5

I cannot believe that I'm having this extreme an issue but not finding anyone else with the same problem thus far.
I am unable to open any Pages docs in Page 5.5. Actually though, the issue began right BEFORE I upgraded to Yosemite and then upgraded Pages.
I partly did the whole upgrade to see if it would fix the issue, and it has not.
I have tried everything, every way there is to open a file, I've tried it. I'm talking about Pages docs I created originally in Pages, that will not open.
When I give the open command, it acts like it's opening the doc, and there are no error messages but the doc simply doesn't open.

I hav been having a similar problem. In the end I re formatted my hard drive (which I had been thinking of doing anyway) re installed Yosemite and pages 5.5 anew. I did the same with my iPad Air V1.
However, files are not syncing across the cloud to the iPad or the other way round. I create a file on Page son the Mac and save to iCloud. Wont show there or on the iPad. File on iPad won't show in Pages on the Mac. It's impacting my business greatly as I create case reports in Police Stations (lawyer) and finish off on the Mac but unless i use iCloud I can't. Driving me mad and cannot think of a solution.

Problem with Pages. I have recently been unable to open Pages, or any documents from Pages on my iMac. Pages seems to be in the Cloud and can open a list of the documents in Pages, but can't open any of those documents.

The answer is simple... If you want to remedy this, then don't save them as PDFs.
Word opens Word and text documents. Not PDFs.

Keep getting "unable to open page" in safari any ideas how to stop this?

I keep getting "unable to open page" in Safari it's most annoying! Can anyone help please.

i haven't done anything in console. i don't really
understand that part of computing.
Console is not something you do anything in, it records what is going , where it logs errors, crashes et.. and where troubleshooting can start from.
I mentioned Looking to see if you had errors logged.
i can access any other site just fine.
The problem, again is Not with Safari or other Browsers, if other sites are fine.
i could understand that it may be the site if i
wasn't able to connect to it from other sources. the
computer are surely online or i would not be posting.
1) I would not be able to know which computer you are posting from.
2) Again I can connect to the site and browse, does not mean there is not something wrong with it.My console produce errors as I have mentioned.
also i just got off the phone with Apple Care tech
support. it seems that because i can access other
sites this is not an issue they will support. so,
That is is because the issue us NOT with Safari , rather your ISP, or your Network Settings.
that means that my problem as well as all similar
problems on this board will not get the attention

Unable to open Pages after new hard drive

I am unable to open pages after recently having to get my hard drive replaced. I have a time machine that I could get the application/files off of, but when I try to open it it comes up with the message:
"Check with the developer to make sure Pages works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to re install the application. Be sure to install updates for the application and MAC OS X"
I have done all the software updates possible for both MAC OS and iworks compatibility, and nothing has worked. I do not have the original CD with me, so I cannot reinstall. Is there any other way to get the working version of the application off of my time machine?

Enter mac App Store and check if it state that Pages is installed on your machine.
If it does, you may download Pages 4.0.5 thru this channel for free.

Assuming that you aren't far from your original DVD for a long time, you may remove every files related to iWork '09 with my uninstall script
then
download and install the trial version,
don't run it
Trigger Software Update to download and install the required updater.
I apologize but I don't remember if the updater 9.0.5 apply the entire required changes.
After that you will have an up to date package which you will be able to use during 30 days.
When you will be back home, re-apply my uninstaller
install the package from your DVD
don't run the apps
Trigger Software Update to download and install the required updater.
After that you will have an up to date full time package.

Unable to open numbers docs on iphon

I am unable to open numbers docs on iphone using icloud. my account is on and set up to share documents on my mac and my iphone, but there is no way in the numbers app on the iphone to open them.

The options it gives are, copy from: itunes, idisk, webdav. No icloud option.

Adobe for Palm is an ancient program that requires you to convert the raw PDF files on your desktop before you can sync them on a PalmOS device. Are you using the converter program from Adobe?
I gave up on this program a long time ago, and switched to the freeware "PalmPDF" available on freewarepalm.com. You can put raw PDF's on an SD card and they can be read by the program with no conversion necessary!

Unable to open Pages document on desktop/iCloud

Purchased a Macbook Air and decided to use Pages to update and reformat my resume, but after I saved it, I am unable to open it on both the computer and iCloud. The dialogue that pops up just says "filename.pages cannot be opened". Is there a way to convert it to a Word document or PDF, as most online file converters don't recognize .pages?

I will try to get thsi post move to iWork for iOs.

Unable to open Page Setup in CR11 in Design view

Hello,
I am using crystal reports professional v11.0.0.1994. I am unable to open the Page setup from the File menu in this report. The Page setup function works for my other reports, just not this one. I do not want to have to recreate this report as it is complicated (for me!). I have tried saving the report as a different name. I am having trouble printing this report in our Terminal Server environment and need to be make sure the no print option is turned off.

Hi Graham,
We were having issues with the report in a third party application. TS - users were not able to print at all - as if the no printers check box was ticked. (users could not see any printers)
I was trying to correct this through the design opening the report on my local pc where I have Crystal Reports installed. I could sucessfully open the report, but when I clicked on File Page setup nothing happened. It was as if I hadn't clicked on the function at all.
I then opened the report in Crystal Reports installed on a server (same version) but had the same problem.
I sent the report to someone outside the organisation with the same version of crystal reports and they were able to open the Page setup and turn off the No Printers check box.
When the report came back I was able to open Page Setup.
I was trying to find out what could cause the software to ignore the page setup command in case this happened again.

Unable to open pages between MAC and iPad

Since yesterday I have been unable to open new pages documents on my MAC that where wriiten on my IPAD.
No updates are required on either system.
My Mac is Mountianlion Osx 10.8.5 pages 09 4.3
My Ipad IOS 7.0.4 pages 2.0.1
when i click on document my MAC tells me in order to open I need to buy a version of Pages / is this correct?

No one is able to open page through webserver it's giving message You don't have permission to access / on this server. Can any one help.

Do you have a document called index.html in /Library/WebServer/Documents? The error mesage you mention usually happens when this document doesn't exist and you haven't set the option to list the files in the directory.

Unable to open page from buttons within firefox IE whereasothers explorers can

In the firefox opened page when button for opening new sight within the page is clicked there is no effect and the page does not open wheras in inetrnet explorer same page can be opened please advice. Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Unable to open Pages

I am having trouble opening pages. When I try, with any document, the icon bounces as if it is about to open, for about a minute and then stops as if it is open but doesn't do anything. When I check the info of the program it says that it has been opened when I try to do this, however, none of the documents actually open. I've tried the previous advice that was given but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

I am having this same issue. The preference file has not even been created for me to trash it. All iWork icons just bounce once or twice and then quit.
This was a fresh install. Tried running software update to see if that helped but it did not.

Unable to open Word doc "Submitted" to a cell in form

Hi,
I am unable to open a Word doc "Submitted" to a cell in form. When I select the cell and select menu open "Open Doc", I see a IE web page flash quickly before disappearing.
In contrast I can open a TEXT file - a IE web page would display the contents.
I am guessing it is IE related - perhaps it is not able to display Word nor Excel docs?
Has anyone else found a way around this limitation. I even tried opening Excel docs while running webform on the Planning server itself.
I set IE options to allow everything and to trust the planning website.

You are right Alp, I don't understand the permissioning of folders and its artifacts (e.g. files). I know Planning and Essbase security well but Workspace's security stumps me!??
I don't understand what part "Roles" have. I gave a security group "FULL CONTROL" to the folder, and Select "Apply Permission to Children". However, that folder's permission did not get pushed to the artifacts in it.
I read online HELP but don't understand it.
