Unable to open PDF file
Hi ShaneMiseer,
I looked at your account and see that you have an active subscription to ExportPDF. Are you trying to open PDF files, or files that you've converted from PDF to another format? What happens when you try to open the files? Do you receive an error message (and if so, what is it?).
Best,
Sara
the response is that the attachment has been damaged or in a format that cannot be opened

Unable to open pdf files on my IMac I have downloaded
Unable to open PDF Files on my IMac I have installed the latest Adobe Reader still no joy when I try to open any PDF File from a site I just get an empty black
page.Is it only ones you have downloaded? What about for example the ones that came with your iMac - you didn't give a model but mine has a folder "User Guides and Information" that has a number of pdfs. Spotlight should find it for you.

Unable to open PDF files in messages since iOS 8.3 update
i updated my iPhone 6 to the iOS 8.3 update and unable to open PDF files with in the messages app ... I was able to do this prior to the update. Was the functionality taken away (still able to open jpg and ping files)?
I visited a "genius" in the Apple Store, Leicester, this morning. After some playing around he seems to have sorted it. Apparently - now they tell me! - you don't need Adobe Reader on Macs as the Mac has its own pdf reader built-in. Safari 5.1 is now clashing with Reader and the best approach is to remove Reader - and the relevent preference files. I took one of my MBPs into the store and am just checking it out to see if everything is now ok. I'm now planning to make the changes on my other machine and will report back. (The genius said that my best approach was to bring in the second MBP but I'm not very convenient to Leicester so I'm going to give it whirl myself.)
Wish me luck.
But why did we load Reader in the first place? Are we that unusual in the Mac community? Surely, others must have done the same and are having the same problem with Safari 5.1??? -
Unable to open PDF files from my banking statements.
I think almost every dev is on arch-general, so that is the place to contact the group in general. Specific points can probably be emailed to the dev involved, if one is identifiable and if the bug tracker is not a better place (bug reports to my email get ignored).
I think the whole problem here is that there is really no dev in charge of that package. So your emails were probably seen then skipped over by all devs thinking not my problem... (I know that is true for me). Then Andrea noticed an "orphan" package that needed updated and went ahead with it without connecting it to your previous emails, which is unfortunate.
Now our maintainer backend is fixed, hopefully we can get all the orphan packages adopted out, or at least know if we need to bring on new people to maintain them. That way, there should always be someone who information about specific packages should be sent to. -
Unable to open PDF files or Adobe Reader
I am unable to opern adobe reader or download a ner version of adobe reader.
Apparently the original software download was corrupt. I tried to
"change" it through the add and delete software area of Windows, and re-installed
the software. That seemed to work. Debating on whether to upgrade to one
of their other products. I could certainly use fillable forms, signature,
and modifiable documents.
Thank you for responding.

Unable To Open PDF File In Browser
I am unable to open a PDF file within my browser using Adobe Reader. Whenever I attempt to open a PDF file, I get the following message:
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader selected for viewing PDF documents in browsers cannot be found at its installed location, it may have been moved or deleted.
Please reinstall or repair the application (15:524)
I have ensured that Adobe Reader is set as my default program for opening PDF files, and have downloaded and installed the latest version of Adobe Reader. I am running Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10.
I have attempted to contact Adobe Reader Support and was informed that the expected wait time was 3-5 minutes. I have been holding for over an hour without any support. How about if you right click on the PDF and select Save Link As..., and then open it locally from within Reader? Does it work ok then? That might be a workaround until the issue within the browser is resolved.

Unable to open PDF files in Internet Explorer
Hello,
One of our users has a problem with opening PDF files in Internet Explorer.
Translation:
Adobe PDF-document
There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Close Adobe Acrobat/Read and try again.
The user is using Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard in combination with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat (under an administrator account), deleted the local user profile and the problem is still there.
Does anyone have an idea about this? The error message doesn't really say what is wrong. Adobe Reader is not installed. What exactly means "unable"? Do you see a little x in a box on the top left of IE11? If so, this may be the solution: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2716529

Unable to open PDF files with acroread
Hi,
We have a solaris 9 server with acroread installed on the server. When I log in to the server with any local user (root or any other user) I'm able to open the PDF files which are locally on the server as well the PDF files which are on NFS Share with acroread but when a user whose home directory is NFS mounted log in to the server, he is neither able to open PDF files which are local on that server nor the PDF files which are on NFS share with acroread.
I have tried by restarting the NFS services and also by rebooting the server but the same problem persists.
Please suggest.
Thanks!!!!Hello Harpreet,
As I understand, default Gtk+ version on Solaris 9 is 2.1.0. You must have a higher version of Gtk+ installed on this machine since you are able to launch Adobe Reader. Could you let us know if the version of this Gtk+ installation is 2.4.9. Also, does your NFS share contains home directories of a large number of users? Does "unable to open" means that Adobe Reader becomes unresponsive?
If this is the case, you need to upgrade the Gtk+ installation to the recommended version i.e 2.6 or higher.
Regards

Unable to open .pdf files after installation of 9.1.3
Hiya. I'm using XP SP3 w/Firefox 3.5.3 and IE 8.
When I try to open a .pdf file from Firefox (and I assume IE, which I never touch with a 10 foot pole), Adobe Reader opens, but then a blank dialog box (with a graphic of a ? in a bubble) pops up and all I can do is click the "OK" button and it closes Reader completely.
I've restarted Firefox, rebooted my computer, no Adobe products were running when I did the installation, and no errors occured during the installation.
I can open .pdf files from my HDD just fine, only when I try to open them from a browser window does the problem occur.
Help?That's all it does.
Like I said, I can open .pdf files that I've saved to my HDD, but opening them from the web just does this. -
Unable to open pdf files in Safari 5.1
Last night I installed Safari 5.1 on my MBP running 10.6.8 and am now unable to view pdf files from Google searches. Clicking on a pdf in Google the window does dark, there is a QuickTime icon and the page seems to download. When it finishes, the QT icon is replaced by the front page of the document but I am unable to scroll down to see more. In some instances the QT icon disappears and nothing loads.

After upgrading acrobat 6.0 pro to acrobat 6.0.1 Unable to open pdf file in IE
I have down loaded acrobat 6.0.1 pro upgrade patch from adobe site.
After upgrading pdf files are not opening in IE from our application.
On top of 6.0.1 i have upgraded to 6.0.2->6.0.3->6.0.4
On opening pdf files from IE it gives error "Document is damaged and it cannot be repaired"
Thanks,
BhagyaYou should update all of the levels and retry. It may be a bug in 6.0.1. You have 5 more updates to go. That may not resolve the issue, in which case come back and indicate the problem. However, with what you are saying about Mozilla, it sounds like you need to update IE (I am not sure what you mean by 6 & 7, unless you are talking about different machines). Sometimes you have to do a fix on Acrobat after OFFICE is updated as I recall.
I am only making suggestions about how to approach the problem. I have no clue what the problem is an can only suggest the steps I might take to resolve the issue. I forgot whether the plugin for IE is from Adobe or MS. -
Unable to open PDF file in browser using Reader 9 with IE8
I just updated to IE8 and when trying to open a PDF file on the browser, I received a message stating to use Adobe Reader 8 or 9. I downloaded AR9 and still receive the same message and cannot open PDF files in browser window. It defaults to my Adobe Acrobat 6.0 which will not open the file. I have Windows XP. I do not have a problem opening a PDF file in Yahoo mail with AR9. I have tried many different ideas on the web to no avail. Appreciate any help to be able to default to open PDF files in the browser using AR9 which is apparently required by IE8.
Fixed problem by taking to a computer store to find that my hard drive storage was maxed out. I had the hard drive repaced with a larger amount of storage. Problem resulted from inadequate amount of storage space which prevented me from downloading and installing Adobe Reader 9.
Thanks to al that responded.
