Unable to open pdf files online
I recently had to have my Mac completely wiped and reinstalled. Since then I can no longer open webpages that are pdf files (i.e. a restaurant menu). I have adobe acrobat pro already installed. Any suggestions???

If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Earlier versions of Firefox allowed me to open PDF files online, without downloading. Firefox 4 does not allow me to open and read PDF files online, but requires downloading to computer.
Help suggest altering settings in FOXIT READER, manually, but I don't know how to access Foxit reader, if I have it.
Can I alter settings in Firefox 4, or do I have to go back to earlier version.
ThanksI was under the impression Foxit was a pdf viewer rather than an addon for Firefox, but maybe there is more than one application with a similar name.
I did not notice mention of foxit in the help, but add-ons are not always mentioned.

Unable to open pdf files on my IMac I have downloaded
Unable to open PDF Files on my IMac I have installed the latest Adobe Reader still no joy when I try to open any PDF File from a site I just get an empty black
page.Is it only ones you have downloaded? What about for example the ones that came with your iMac - you didn't give a model but mine has a folder "User Guides and Information" that has a number of pdfs. Spotlight should find it for you.

Unable to open PDF files in messages since iOS 8.3 update
i updated my iPhone 6 to the iOS 8.3 update and unable to open PDF files with in the messages app ... I was able to do this prior to the update. Was the functionality taken away (still able to open jpg and ping files)?
I visited a "genius" in the Apple Store, Leicester, this morning. After some playing around he seems to have sorted it. Apparently - now they tell me! - you don't need Adobe Reader on Macs as the Mac has its own pdf reader built-in. Safari 5.1 is now clashing with Reader and the best approach is to remove Reader - and the relevent preference files. I took one of my MBPs into the store and am just checking it out to see if everything is now ok. I'm now planning to make the changes on my other machine and will report back. (The genius said that my best approach was to bring in the second MBP but I'm not very convenient to Leicester so I'm going to give it whirl myself.)
Wish me luck.
But why did we load Reader in the first place? Are we that unusual in the Mac community? Surely, others must have done the same and are having the same problem with Safari 5.1??? -
Unable to open PDF files from my banking statements.
I think almost every dev is on arch-general, so that is the place to contact the group in general. Specific points can probably be emailed to the dev involved, if one is identifiable and if the bug tracker is not a better place (bug reports to my email get ignored).
I think the whole problem here is that there is really no dev in charge of that package. So your emails were probably seen then skipped over by all devs thinking not my problem... (I know that is true for me). Then Andrea noticed an "orphan" package that needed updated and went ahead with it without connecting it to your previous emails, which is unfortunate.
Now our maintainer backend is fixed, hopefully we can get all the orphan packages adopted out, or at least know if we need to bring on new people to maintain them. That way, there should always be someone who information about specific packages should be sent to. -
Unable to open PDF files or Adobe Reader
I am unable to opern adobe reader or download a ner version of adobe reader.
Apparently the original software download was corrupt. I tried to
"change" it through the add and delete software area of Windows, and re-installed
the software. That seemed to work. Debating on whether to upgrade to one
of their other products. I could certainly use fillable forms, signature,
and modifiable documents.
Thank you for responding.

Unable To Open PDF File In Browser
I am unable to open a PDF file within my browser using Adobe Reader. Whenever I attempt to open a PDF file, I get the following message:
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader selected for viewing PDF documents in browsers cannot be found at its installed location, it may have been moved or deleted.
Please reinstall or repair the application (15:524)
I have ensured that Adobe Reader is set as my default program for opening PDF files, and have downloaded and installed the latest version of Adobe Reader. I am running Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10.
I have attempted to contact Adobe Reader Support and was informed that the expected wait time was 3-5 minutes. I have been holding for over an hour without any support. How about if you right click on the PDF and select Save Link As..., and then open it locally from within Reader? Does it work ok then? That might be a workaround until the issue within the browser is resolved.

Unable to open PDF files in Internet Explorer
Hello,
One of our users has a problem with opening PDF files in Internet Explorer.
Translation:
Adobe PDF-document
There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Close Adobe Acrobat/Read and try again.
The user is using Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard in combination with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat (under an administrator account), deleted the local user profile and the problem is still there.
Does anyone have an idea about this? The error message doesn't really say what is wrong. Adobe Reader is not installed. What exactly means "unable"? Do you see a little x in a box on the top left of IE11? If so, this may be the solution: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2716529
