Unable to open port 9000
Have a E4200 with version 1.0.04 firmware.
Been trying to open 9000 to access my buffalo media server remotely.
Have set up both Single Port and Port Range Forwarding for port 9000.
On trying to access media server, get message " could not connect to xxx.xxx.x.xxx:9000"
Using online Open Ports Checkers shows this port is closed.
- Tried disabling all firewalls.
- tried range of ports
- Enabled/Disabled UPnP
- tried cisco & buffalo tech support
Any help really appreciated.

First of all let me know the IP address getting from the modem? To check the IP address that you are getting from the Router...
You can check the IP address in the following manner:
# Click on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.
# A black pop up box should come up, type: "ipconfig /all" …
There check the IP address and Default Gateway under LAN….
In order to use the server remotely you should have a public IP address from the modem. If you still have the issue you can use the feature of DMZ. Here is the link for enabling the DMZ feature in a Linksys wireless router: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=24913&userrole=Links...

Unable to open ports using terminal
I need to open port 16004 and have attempted to do so via Terminal by entering:
sudo ipfw add allow tcp from 16004 to 1600.
However when i run port scan from the Network Utility it does not show up as open.
Is this the correct syntax? Am I missing something?
If someone could help please.Sorry but can you explain further
man ipfw tells you everything you need to know (and more) about setting ipfw rules.
What goes in place of the 'any to any'? anything or is that it?
The syntax of an ipfw allow rule is:
allow [protocol] from [souce] to [dest] [port]
So the statement:
allow tcp from any to any 16004
says that any source address is allowed to connect to any destination address on port 16004. To be more secure you might lock down the port so that specific IP addresses can connect, e.g.:
allow tcp from 192.168.1.0/24 to in 16004
this says that any machine on the 192.168.1.0/24 network is allowed to connect to any interface on the current machine ('in') on port 16004 -
Unable to open port 443. Why?
Hello-
I'm trying to open port 443 on my Airport Extreme Dual Band . In the Airport Utility, I tried in the port mapping tab. I entered 443 in the TCP and UDP areas and the IP of the computer in that section. I also tried only TCP and only UDP. It was not functioning correctly.
Then I opened Network Utility and did a port scan. It did not show 443. I called my ISP and they do not block it.
What else could be blocking it? Anything I haven't thought of?
Thanks in advance.
KirkSame here!
After configuring AX, namely putting 443 for both TCP ports, with or without choosing the "Remote Login - SSH" service, and finally restarting, I still get the following message from Slink:
+External port 443 is closed. Manually configure your broadband gateway to map external TCP port 443 to TCP port 22 on internal host 10.0.1.2.+
Checking the Port Scan in Network Utility, I can see
+Open TCP Port: 22 ssh+,
but no sign for 443... -
Hello,
I have been unable to open port 5900 on a WRT54 or on my current WRT150N router despite spending over 2 hours with tech support. If anyone thinks they can help me please reply.
current config:
distributes fixed IP, 69.2.240.211, traffic to an internal network, 192.168.1.xxx
port 22 open and forwarded
port 80 open and forwarded
port 5900 - nothing
Let me know if you need further details.
Thanks - denisLogically if you are able to open ports 22 and 80 your router should also be able to open 5900...If not you can just upgrade the Firmware on the router and retry...

I have a Lorex DVR that I want to monitor from my IPhone and IPad. I used to be able to do this when I had a Belkin router (easy to open ports) but I bought the AirPort Extreme router and no longer have that capability. When I use "canyouseeme" they can NOT see 80, 9000 or 1025. Lorex says I need them all available in order to access. Help! And all the help I see refers to a earlier version of the AirPort Utility so I cant use those to look at anything, I cant find the same screens, I have version 6.1 (610.31). I also don't really understand how ports work, so I need a pretty basic explanation.
Well...I went to the modem (Westell, WireSpeed), found the NAT settings, once again, I'm WAY over my head, I am assuming this is a TCP connection (as opposed to a UDP) and per Lorex my mobile devices will use port 1025. So I gave it a "global port range" of 1-10 and I indicated that the "base host port" was 80, 1025, & 9000 (ports 1,2,3). When I selected the 'enable' it asked for a "host devise" my choices are my IPhone, IMac and the IP address for the dvr, so I choose the dvr. I still cannot connect and canyouseeme still can NOT find these open ports. This is taking up my whole day! I don't know how people figure this stuff out.

Unable to open USB port device file: Permission denied
I have an up-to-date system (full "pacman -Syu" yesterday), I am in a "lp" group and the printer (Canon Pixma MP270) started to give "Unable to open USB port device file: Permission denied" error, although in the past it worked and still works in Windows. Doesn't anybody have a similar problem?
Thanks for reply.
CUPS worked, I could use CUPS-PDF and localhost:631 was accessible and working.
Today I managed to print again. I did "pacman -Rcsn cups" and reinstalled it again.
My printer is Canon Pixma MP270 and so far it wasn't the best choice for Arch Linux—scanning works fine but it's like throwing a coin when it comes to printing. I've written a simple PKGBUILD for installing its printing driver as a regular package, but I don't know what to set as a license.

Regards,
AryaI'm having a similar issue.
Did a fresh install of 11.2.0.1.0 under Windows 2003 - latest updates - IE 8.
I can access Enterprise Manager from other computers - but not from the local server.
I've tried both: https://oracle.xxxx.xxx:1158/em and https://localhost:1158/em
Both give me the generic "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" - but if I access from another computer it comes up - so I know everything is working... -

Servlet web service endpoint 'AAEWebService' failure
java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException
at org.aae.jose.bd.AAEWebService.<init>(AAEWebService.java:50)
at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newIn  Hello,
you can check it at GlassFish Admin console (usually running on port 4848).
You need to log on to Admin console with the (default) or changed password (depends if you changed it during installation).
There you could see your web service deployed (usually in the "folder" Web services).
If you can see it you should see also wsdl - for your web service.

Radeon HD 7790 + Catalyst = Error: unable to open display (null)
Greetings,
I've installed Arch 2 days ago(migrated from Fedora), but I'm still a newbie to linux, so please have patience.
I've bought AMD Radeon HD 7790 recently and decided that it's time to upgrade system, but since then I had only problems with it. No LiveCD I tried (Fedora 20, Mint) worked properly in graphics mode, so I suspected problem in built-in drivers and moved to linux with text-only installation (Arch), so I could install drivers later.
I've followed wiki manual and installed catalyst, removed open source driver, added nomodeset parametr to GRUB etc. but I'm still stucked, because Xorg won't start(black screen and errors presented in Logs). Tried googling, but learned nothing except Radeon proprietary drivers are comparable to suicide.
Versions:
Kernel: 3-10.40-1-lts (catalyst_build_module sucessful)
Catalyst: 14.4-10
Xorg: 1.14.5-11

Last edited by Mytrin (2014-05-25 19:09:02)I've managed to solve this error:
(EE) AIGLX error: failed to open /usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so, error[/usr/X11R6/lib64/modules/dri/fglrx_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
There was missing library and few directories, which I found according to this http://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comme … _correctly at /usr/lib/dri, so I had to just symlink it. However, "unable to open display" error is still annoying me and Xorg is not working.
EDIT: Found EE about missing commands in new Xorg.0.log and installed xterm to solve this. Now I don't have entirely black screen after startx. There is white rectangular terminal and fglrxinfo seems to be all right as it detected my Radeon and OpenGL. Now I have to install some DE, but that's another story. Marking as [SOLVED] and once again thanks to clfarron4 for reply.

Dear Experts,
Please note that I am facing a chllenge while confiuguring the VNCServer on the local test Server. The Local Test Sver OS Version is Redhat Enterprise Linux Server
Release 5.5 32-bit. Please review the following error message and advise me on how to fix the vncserver issue.
[root@test .vnc]# cat xstartup

# Uncomment the lines below to start a VNC server on display :2

Regards
Mohammed Abdul MuqeetHi,
Try these 3 solutions
1. Did you start vncserver services as:
service vncserver start
2.Check that port 5901 has not been blocked by a firewall:
# nc -vz localhost 5901
You should get a connection and a termination. If you get an error, fix the firewall.
3. service iptables stop
Hope This Helps

"There was some communication error. Response is : http://localhost:19000/hfm/GlobalWorkspaceNav/bpm/modules/com/hyperion/hfm/web/appcontainer/Adf.asp"
"there can be many causes to this error....
1) you should check first of all that the redirection from Apache port 19000 to folder HFM within the IIS is actually working. try hitting http://apacheserver:19000/hfm and make sure you get "hfm" response back.
2) check that ASP is turned on in the IIS ("file / directory not found" suggests that it isnt)
3) check what URL you used when you created the application or when you registered it with shared services as the "Financial Management Web Server URL for Security". It should normally be http://apacheservername:19000/hfm. If you did this wrong then re-register it with shared services via Navigate->Administer->Classic Application Administration->Consolidation Administration.
4) check that the application was registered with Shared Services in the first place.
5) make sure that on the HFM web server, the HFM application server/cluster is properly registered
6) stop and restart all services and test again...
7) try not to use "localhost" but proper fully qualified domain names "servername.mydomain.com" wherever possible. you will have less problems. the only place where you should use a non qualified name is in Relational Content links... see the HFM readme. -

i just updated my itunes and now I am unable to open any of my songs... please help me. Every time i click it, it says it cannot be read because it was made by a newer version of itunes.
Try resetting the Nano with it still connected to a high powered USB 2.0 port on your PC. To reset the iPod, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Hi,
When we try to send file over seeburger SFTP (receiver) we are getting the error as below.
Message processing failed. Cause: javax.resource.ResourceException: Fatal exception: javax.resource.ResourceException: >> Description: SFTP transaction error occured.>> Details: putFile: Could not connect to remote host; Reason: Unable to open Sftp client. SshReasonCode: CHANNEL_FAILURE>>SendingStatus: NOT_TRANSMITTED>>FaultCategory: COMMUNICATION_ERROR>>Retryable: true>>Fatal: true, >> Description: SFTP transaction error occured.>> Details: putFile: Could not connect to remote host; Reason: Unable to open Sftp client. SshReasonCode: CHANNEL_FAILURE>>SendingStatus: NOT_TRANSMITTED>>FaultCategory: COMMUNICATION_ERROR>>Retryable: true>>Fatal: true
But we are able to connect through filezilla . we are able to create and delete file using the same username and password which is being used in SFTP adapter.
we have imported the both dsa and rsa keys in SFTP partner folder in NWA. Even though we are getting same error.
Thanks,
VinayakHi Ram,
we checked with network team and port 22 is open and they are able to ping to the target system.
we checked the seeburger logs and we see EOF received from remote site error:

SandyHi Sandy,
If you set EXTPROCS_DLLS=ANY in the listener and then restart the listener, does it fix the problem?
