Unable to open premiere cs6 projects - "media pending"

Lately when working on projects, it comes to a point where I'll open the project file and nothing will load in the program. All I see is no sequence, and no imported files, just a message that says "media pending". I have done no renaming of files. One day it will work and the next it will never work again. PLEASE help...

Hi,
Can you click on Sequence on the top and select the option of Delete Rendered Files.
Check if this fixes the issue or not.
Thank You
Arjun

  • Yosemite and unable to open Illustrator CS6

    Hi
Since changing to Yosemite I am unable to open Illustrator CS6 and I get the following message:
"To open "Adobe Illustrator CS6" you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime."
I have followed the link and downloaded "Java for OS X 2014-001" as instructed but doing this does not change anything and I am still unable to open Illustrator.
Can anyone help me and explain to me what I need to do to be able to use Illlustrator again!
    Thank you very much.

    Teresa, biuzalel,
You should be able to get round the issue altogether without the legacy version (and its security implications), by following this:
    http://oliverdowling.com.au/2014/03/28/java-se-8-on-mac-os-x/
It is even more thoroughly described in this thread, see post #3 on by gator soup:

  • Premiere CC 2014 'Media Pending' & constant hanging/crashing

I have a Macbook Pro retina, using Canon 5D mk3 footage.
I am working on a few projects and keep experiencing a problem where the program monitor will just 'hang' on a certain frame during playback, other times (less often) will display 'media pending'. In either case, once that happens, there is no going back. I can still save the project, close and open the program monitor, playback works for audio .. but no playback of video. Sometimes it crashes completely.
Most of the time I have to save and then quit, and then load up Premiere again. Although it sometimes hangs after about 1 minute of use. I think I have restarted about 20 times in the last 2 hours - its ridiculous.
    - I have tried emptying cache / media cache etc
    - I have tried copying the sequence and pasting into a totally new project only to find the same problems come up eventually
    - This is a new install of premiere on a new install of Yosemite (no preferences applied yet)
    - It seems worse when there are multiple video tracks
    - Can I get a refund for this month of CC? My videos have taken twice as long as they should have because of the bugs in this program.
    - I'm serious

You're not the only one having these issues. There are couple of threads under adobe forums regarding this issue. Couple of users solved their problem by unchecking the labels regarding XMP under preferences-media.
I'm on latest mountain lion and also deleted the cache manually under the common folders. Have multiple layers and haven't had issues prior using PR CC 2014 on the same project.
Same problem as yours, no video only audio playback, unresponsive behaviour and eventually a crash on quit which I have to force quit.

  • Premiere 7.1 Media Pending Error

I'm editing some Sony F55 RAW footage but Premiere Pro keeps showing me Media Pending error.
I've already edited a project with F55 files and didn't had a single issue.
My system is an iMac with i7, 32GB ram, external Promise Pegasus R6 (RAID5) with footage and cache files on it.
Tried to move the cache to the internal SSD but nothing changed.
Is that a Premiere Pro bug?
    Thanks

How to solve render after always show "Media Pending" screen. When Adobe Premiere Pro CC updated to 7.1:
If you have this issue, follow these instructions:
    (Replace ImportFastMPEG.prm to 7.0.1 version)
    1. Download Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.0.1 update.
    Link(s):http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/premiere/win/7.x/PremiereProTrial-7.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdat e.zip
    2. Extract "PremiereProTrial-7.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate.zip" file and go to "\payloads\AdobePremierePro7AllTrial-270613015334" folder.
    3. Use 7-Zip or WinRAR to open the "Assets1_1.zip" file.
    4. Find the file name is "2509" and extract.
    5. Rename "2509" to "ImporterFastMPEG.prm".
    6. Copy and replace ImportFastMPEG.prm to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC\Plug-ins\Common" folder.

  • Trouble opening Premiere Elements project in Premiere Pro

    Hi All,
Just bought Production Premium CS6. I've been working on a project in Premiere Elements 9, and I'd like to continue working on it in the new snazzy Premiere Pro CS6. But when I try to open the project file I get the following error:
"The project could not be loaded, it may be damaged or contain outdated elements."
I can still open the project in PrE, though, and I can even open other PrE projects in PrPro.
I've tried opening autosave versions, but always get the same error.
Any thoughts on what else to try? I really hate the idea of dropping so much money on PrPro and having to continue editing in PrE.
    Thanks!
    Martin

So long as the versions of PrE and PrPro are contemporary, the PREL (PrE Project file) should open, or Import, with some caveats:
There are many 3rd party Effects and Transitions, that are in PrE, that do not exist in PrPro - hence their use can cause issues. An example would be the NewBlue FX Effects/Transitions.
There are features in PrE, that do not exist in PrPro, and these can cause problems. An example would be Themes/Instant Movie.
PrE has a tiny subset of the Sonic AuthorCore modules (a larger subset makes up the basis of Encore) used for DVD/BD authoring, and if one has done any authoring in PrE, such as Create Menus, or the application of Chapter, or Menu Markers. Those authoring aspects can cause problems.
First, I would attempt to Import (not Open) the PREL into PrPro.
If that does not work, go back into PrE, and check for 3rd party Effect/Transitions, and remove any. Check for Menu or Chapter Markers, or Menus, and remove those. Same for Themes, or Instant Movies - remove all. Try again.
Now, PrE 9 and CS6 are not really contemporary. PrE 9 came out during the run of CS5 (not CS6), and PrE 10 (changes made in the program) is closer to CS5.5, and perhaps CS6. There could well be just enough difference, as to create problems there, and a PrE 9 PREL just might be far enough back, as to preclude CS6 being able to either Open, or Import it.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere renders yellow "media pending" frames

    Hi,
this is surely a huge bug.
I opends a project with many connected After Effects compositions and started to export the sequence.
I got a sequences with yellow "media pending" frames in it. WTF?!?!
Why does premiere not stop rendering there an load the media first? Or wait until its loaded.
I took more than 10 hours to render!
    Thomas

    Dag:
    1. Did you capture the footage prior to updating to 3.2?
    2. Can you reproduce the problem in a new test project?
    Cheers

  • Can I open a CS6 project in CC?

I am studying in a film schools and in the computers here they have CC. I use cs6 in my computer and I want to keep working on one of the projects in the schools computers. Is it possible to open a project from premiere cs6 in premiere cc?

Yes you can but you can't go back to CS6 from CC. If the project is very important I would stick with the original version of Premiere, there have been cases of the upgraded project not being completely successful.

  • Can't open Premiere CS4 project in CS5

Having issues opening a premiere cs4 project in cs5. The machine I was using with Cs4 has died, so I'm trying to continue the project with CS5.
Whenever I open the project I get a message saying "this project contained a sequence that could not be opened, No sequence preview preset or file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
I have the latest version of premiere cs5 installed, and quicktime. The footage I was using was from a Canon 7D.
    Thank you!

  • How to open Premiere CS6 files with Premiere CS5.5

Hi, I've ran into a problem I recently got the Premiere CS6 trial and had done some projects on it that I started in CS5.5, but now the trial expired and many of my projects are stuck as CS6 files. Luckly I was able to put the trial on one of my older computers so i can still access the files for now but its extremely slow and the rendering takes forever so I dont want to render out any projects on that.
I know that Premiere is not backwards compatible but is there anyway to export the file or convert it to a CS5.5 file? I need to export the project by tommorrow and my old computer wont have it done by then. I will be buying CS6 in a couple weeks here but right now I cannot afford to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use the original project files from CS5.5. You had to enter a new file name for CS6, so using the CS5.5 names will solve it under CS5.5. It will not solve the editing you did, that is lost (unless you dare to modify the XML files).

  • I have saved my project to my harddrive and then when I try to open it on another computer that uses final cut I am unable to open the edited project

i have saved my project to my harddrive and then when I try to open it on another computer that uses final cut I am unable to open and edit the project

Assuming this is an external HD, use finder to select the drive with your original computer, then press Cmd+i to show info. Go to the bottom of the info window and make sure 'Ignore ownership of this volume' is checked so that other computers can access it.

  • Unable to open older FCP projects

I clicked on a project that I had worked on in '03 on FCP 3 or 4 and FCP 5 told me that I was unable to open it...without and explanation...any ideas anyone?

Welcome to the discussions, Edgar. I've see version 3 files that wouldn't open in 5 without first passing thru 4 or 4.5 - any chance you've got an earlier version around? If not, zip the file up and email it to me and I'll try to pass it thru 4 before going to 5 and saving it. Email's in profile.

Vanja I am sorry then are you trying to install CS6 through the Creative Cloud Desktop application?  That error typically occurs when trying to install the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
Have you tried downloading and installing from Download CS6 products.

  • Unable to open older iDVD projects

    Hi,
I have iDVD, version 7.1.2, and I'm running Mac OS X Snow Leopard on a Mac Mini.
I have older iDVD projects that have were created on an older version of iDVD I had on my PowerBook G4 laptop.
When I try to open the older projects, I selec them in the Open dialog, but iDVD then presents the "Create a new project" dialog.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, was there a solution to this problem?
    Sincerely,
    Jaime
