Unable to open tomcat
I have BOE XI 3.1 with SP2 installed on Windows Server 2008 (64 bit). I have both CMC & Infoview working.
I am trying to open Tomcat Configuration to set up SSO, but it is giving an error message, "Access is denied. Unable to open the service 'BOE120Tomcat'.
I could see Tomcat service running under the windows service manager. Even tried running the Tomcat5.exe from "\Tomcat55\bin" folder, but it didnt openup any window. How to resolve this.
Or is there any other way to add the below two lines in Tomcat to enable SSO.
-Djava.security.auth.login.config=C:\winnt\bscLogin.conf
-Djava.security.krb5.conf=C:\winnt\Krb5.ini
Open up your Start > Run command and type in the following. You might have to change the path to the tomcat5w.exe if not installed to the default C:\ drive. The end is important as it tells which instance of Tomcat to open the config manager for. I don't believe launching the tomcatw.exe directly will work.

The last part of the command is the service name for Tomcat. If you are using Tomcat that was installed with the default XI 3.1 installation, the above should work. If you installed your own instance of Tomcat separately, go into Administrative Tools > Services and open the properties of Tomcat. The Service Name is normally "BOE120Tomcat" but change this part of the command line if yours is named different.

Here is the output from two of the log files when I start tomcat4 on my linux box. I have configured the mod_jk on the tomcat side.
From the output of the second log file, it seems that the ajp13 worker I defined was started successfully. What I don't understand is the following:
1) In catalina.out, where des the line 'Unable to open config file' come from? Which config file?
2) Tomcat4 is supposed to generate a mod_jk.conf automatically, but I don't see any file generated in 'conf/auto/'.

I think the 'config file' mentioned in the error log is the mod_jk.conf.
On Jason Hunter's tomcat4 guide, it says don't use the tomcat4 RPM to installed. What is the difference bettween the RPM version and the tar.gz version? The only difference I can think of is that in the RPM version, the conf directory is in the 'etc/tomcat4/conf'. Could it be the reason that tomcat4 cannot read the config file? But it has no problem reading the server.xml though. -
Unable to open service BOE120 TOMCAT and Unable to STOP severs in CCM
Hi Everyone,
i have installed business object Edge series 3.0 in windows 2008 server standard edition. I also installed crystal 2008, xcelsius engage 2008 , live office, SAP GUI 7.10. I did not installed SAP Integration yet. The installation has done in 'D-drive' instead of 'C-drive'. The installation has been done successfully for above products.
Now i am facing two problems.
In CCM, both TOMCAT and SIA are in running state.
1. when i try to open tomcat configuration, i am getting an error as below
' Unable to open service BOE120 TOMCAT'
2. In CCM, when try to stop the TOMCAT or SIA, system showing an error
'Unable to stop the service, Access Denied'.
But when i go to windows services, there i can able to stop tomcat.
What could be the reasons for above error? Wait for your reply.

In answer to my own question, I found this in a related discussion:
Tomcat 3.2 enforces that you write the write case (lower or upper) for the directory and file names.
Make sure that the case is correct.

Hi Guys
I am using oracle 10.2.0.4.0 on windows 2003 64 . I am unable to open my alert log file. My alert log file opens in a notepad. I get the following error:
'C:\oracle\admin\efint\bdump\alert_efint.log file is too large for notepad. Use another editor to edit the file.'
I tried opening it with wordpad. It gives back 'Failed to open document error.'
My database is working but it wont let me open my alert file. I was able to open it yesterday but not today.
Any help is appreciated

I am unable to open my Photoshop program after installing the entire Creative Suite: Premium Production 6. All other programs work, but with Photoshop it says that it "Could not open a scratch file because the file is locked, you do not have necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file." Then I select "OK" and the next message comes up "Could not initialize Photoshop because the file is locked, you do not have the necessary permissions, or another program is using the file. I am not interested in switching to Creative Cloud, so don't even suggest it. I spoke to Mashmi (or something to that effect) on the "Support" Chat and there was absolutely no support. Useless actually.

I am unable to open raw files taken on my Canon Rebel T1i in my version of Photoshop CS3. When I import raw files into Bridge they come up as patches with CR2 on them and when clicked on, a notice comes up stating that Photoshop does not recognize these files. I tried to update my Adobe Camera Raw by downloading version 4.6 from the Adobe Website, but when I clicked on the plus-in, I got another message that Photoshop does not recognize this file. I spoke with a representative from Canon who said that I could not update CS3 and that I should subscribe to the Cloud. I would prefer to use my CS3, if possible. Can anyone advise me what to do?

Purchased Memory upgade to 8Gb, on june 27th, at Apple Store Memorial City, Houston
Upgraded memory from 4Gb to 8Gb on June 28th.
Tried to write on my external HD (previously written on a windows based PC) with no success.
Upon reccomendation from a Mac assistant, copied all my external HD contents into my Mac Hard drive.
Then formatted my external HD and copied back all my information to it.
deleted all the information from my MacBook Pro HD.
Attempted to repeat the same operation with another external HD, but got a message saying there was not enough epace on the computer HD (even though I have a 750Gb Hard Drive.
Looked in the trash bin and there it was, all the information previously deleted..
Could not empty the trash bin, although I got a message asking me to safely delete all the information from the trash bin,
Could not get enough space released, after several attpempts the trash bin was finally emptied.
All happy getting acquainted with my new MacBook Pro. Two days later, got a gray screen and not able to start the computer.
Looking in to Mac support I found article http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570 and followed instructions to perform a safe boot:

I installed iOS7 on my iPhone5 and now I am unable to open iTunes - the screen just stays blank.

Any help please!Have you tried logging out of your account on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then logging back in ? If it's still the same after that then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

Unable to open Apple application
Last week, I did the most current software updates. Ever since then, I have been unable to open certain Apple programs such as iChat, Skype, Preview, Pages, Photo Booth, etc. I have tried to download AIM, but the computer says it isn't supported. Also, now when I try to open Photo Booth, it says my graphics card doesn't support it, but I have never changed the card from the one the computer came with. The programs will open up, and then immediately quit, and I am left with "The application _____ quit unexpectedly" message. No matter how many times I relaunch and reset, ignore, or report, I can't get them to open. I'm in college and really have no way to get to a Genius Bar for a few more weeks, and I don't have the Leopard disk with me. Is there any way I can fix this on my own? Thanks!
I think it was the repair disk permission that actually worked for me. I tried it once and got no result, and then tried to download the updater. For whatever reason, I couldn't even download that. So I went back and did the disk permission repair again. It still didn't seem to work, so I just turned the computer off out of frustration. When I turned it back on, it was all fixed. So I'm not entirely sure what it was that fixed it...all I know is it works now!
