Unable to order iphoto prints & calendar

How can I update from iphoto 7.1.5? The current iPhoto version available at the Mac store can't be installed with OS 10.6.8 snow leopard
error message: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the ability to order books, cards, calendars and prints is no longer supported in iPhoto 7. Please upgrade to a newer version of iPhoto to order these products."

Do I need to copy the entire library over to the new computer?
Yes.
Will this delete the photos on my mac currently?
No as long as you don't copy it to the Pictures folder of your new MBP and overwrite your library there.  Copy it to the Desktop and open it from there.  You'll need to download and apply the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1  to the library before you try to open it with your version of iPhoto.  The updater will be downloaded to  your Applications/Utilities folder.

  • Cannot order iphoto print product

    While I almost finished placing an order of a book created by iphoto 11 on my Mackbook Air,  I remembered that I needed to change a page.  Hence, at the last step of ordering,  I hit the "Cancel" button to return to iPhoto for the editing.  After I got done the editing,  I was unable to order the book nor any print products.  The message has been  " An error occurred while contacting the Apple Online Store. Please try again."   All my preference settings are correct and proper.     I  checked my two other  regular Macbooks which share the same router, both have no problem at all to order  print products.   It appears that the Apple Online Store connection is blocked only to the one computer I used to almost finished placing the order.   I have created 3 100 page iphoto books and ready for print.   They cannot be exported, as I understand.  Restarting my MacBook Air and the modem and changing date/time (as some suggested)  did not help at all.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Exact same problem here...

  • Can I order iPhoto prints from Malta?

    The options menu on iPhoto lets you select a print products store based on your shipping address.  Does this mean iPhoto prints are restricted to certain countries only, and will this feature be available in more countries in future?   Can I print copies from a UK store and then ship them to Malta?
    Thanks

    These are the countries that have Print Product Stores:
    You can try setting the store to the UK and order the book from there.  Often, however, the credit card used must has a billing address in the same country as the Print Product Store. But give it a try anyway.

  • Unable to order iphoto books :(

    Hi,
    I've never had trouble ordering iphoto books before.  In fact, I order one every year on our anniversary.  This year, I have tried to order our iphoto book 5 times and each time it makes it to the uploading page and then freezes.  I have to hardboot my computer in order to exit out of iphoto.  Does anyone know if this is a software glitch or if there is a setting I need to change?  I love ordering iphoto books and feel very discouraged
    Thank you, Jenny

    Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
    If it is correct boot into safe mode and preview again (note that safe mode disables some fonts) and then order while in safe mode

  • Unable to order book printing

    Hello,
    I am living in Spain and I'm having trouble buying a book using iphoto 11.
    When I click to (buy book), this is the message that appears:
    "An error occurred while contacting the Apple Online Store. Please try again."
    I have two days trying to place my order and nothing happens!!
    please HELPPPPPP!!!!!

    I had exactly the same issue.
    Then I discovered that iPhoto menu -> Preferences... -> Advanced -> > Print Products Store  was set to "none". I changed that to my own country and then it worked, I could place the order.
    So, do check if this helps.

  • Unable to order 16x20 prints

    When purchasing images I get the following error. I am shooting with a Canon 5DMKII if that helps. I've cropped, i've sprinkled with holy water, I even tried converting from reference to internal to APerture library... nadda...
    Any help is appreciated.

    ----The Error------
    The temporary file created for the 16 x 20 in size print of “file name” is too large (10.6 MB) to be ordered. The maximum allowed file size is 10 MB. You should reduce the pixel dimensions of this version and try again.
    The entire order must be canceled.

  • Use which color profile when ordering iPhoto prints?

    Hello,
    I've got a bunch of photos I want to order thru the iPhoto service. Many of the photos have an embedded sRGB (Nikon mode Ia) color profile. Should I convert / save the photos with just an RGB profile or will sRGB work OK? These prints will be 8x10.
    Thanks!

    How do you determine whether a profile has been embedded in your images?
    Unless you manually edit iPhoto's preferences it won't embed any profile upon import. On the other hand Image Capture does embed a profile.
    Some cameras only reference a generic profile in the images' EXIF data (instead of embedding one) but that won't be honoured by iPhoto. Even if your images had a profile embedded it will have been discarded by editing them in iPhoto - something to watch out for.
    As far as ordering prints goes it's impossible to predict the outcome.
    Cheers Martin

  • Unable to order iphoto book

    Using iphoto 09 (v8.1.2), created a photo book but when I try to order using the Buy Book option I am unable to get past the order book window. This window shows the order details, it provides a new set up account option but does not provide an existing account option, I already have an existing apple store account. The account window and quantity options are greyed out.

    the answer is
    go to the Apple store and re-enter (do not just verify but re-enter) all of your account information there and try
    Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
    And no it does not screw you up - it fixes the problem

  • Unable to order prints anymore... weird iPhoto error

    Hey there,
    I'm unable to order prints from iPhoto anymore, it started before the 8.1.1 update. When I start to upload photos to the Kodak server, after 2Mo is transmitted it bugs. In the console I have the following mysterious error :
    25/11/09 23:11:00 iPhoto[6419] PUT /Documents/49519329/image_0.jpg (FAILED), httpStatusCode:402, errorType:100, transactionState:5, txnId:A749349E-5655-4459-8EC0-E92E465EC788, auto-retries=0, manual-retries=0
    25/11/09 23:11:00 iPhoto[6419] ISCoordinator responseFromUploadFiles: error...
    MessengerContext = <ISNewMessengerContext: 0x199b9fa0>;
    Retry = YES;
    Status = ERROR;
    StatusCode = 402;
    }

    I wondered, reading the output from the Error you posted, if it was having trouble finding particular photos:
    /Documents/49519329/image_0.jpg (FAILED)
    How are you uploading to the Kodak Server? With an app, a plugin to iPhoto, some other way?
    Regards

  • Unable to order prints through iphoto

    I am unable to order prints through iphoto. Everytime I try to download and order with 1-click it starts downloading and then says there is a problem with one of my files. Is my order too large (over 500 megabits)? Are certain files to large? Some of my files are in the RAW format or were taken in RAW format. I have tried leaving out photos that have the RAW title showing in iphoto and still no luck. Some of the files, even though noted as jpeg files are 4+megs. Does anyone have an idea on what is going on? I am using the latest iphoto which is 6.04.

    I have a similar issue lately. When trying to order 130 4x6 prints the upload process dies after 10-12 photos and there is nothing you can do about it. The retry function does not restart the upload, it just hangs.
    When using Activity Monitor to monitor the upload speed (I am on COMCAST cable) I see 45-50kB/s for the first 10 pics and then it dies - goes to 0 - unless you do something else on the computer that touches the network.
    No other app is having network or internet connectivity problems.
    Part of the problem might be the fact that the ever increasing file sizes are making the uploads slower and slower. Those 130 pics of mine are 230MB+ and thats just from a small 6MP point and shoot Canon camera.
    Iphoto realy needs a much more robust upload and reststart logic. Like iTunes that can download songs and video in pieces and restarts as often as you want wherever it left of, iPhoto needs a similar function to deal with larger uploads.
    Now the first attempt to fix the issue is to go break the order into 10 individual orders - only problem: Instead of paid 9.99 for express shipping you pay a total of 99.90 for shipping as every order has an individual shipping charge.
    Any ideas for a work around?

  • IPhoto 09 - Unable to order photos now?

    So looking through the options on the new iphoto. I see options for ordering a photo book, calendar and photo card, but gone is the option to order various size photos. Is this not available, or am I looking in the wrong area? There use to be an option to order, say 4x6 prints, not just photo cards. Help.

    Well this page
    http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/print-products.html
    says you can. Select the pic(s) and click on the ‘Order Prints’ button in the tool bar or File -> Order Prints

  • IPhoto unable to order book

    Have been unable to order a book from iPhoto for about 2 months now. At first I put it down to the coupon offer overloading the servers, but still no joy after the coupon ended.
    The book assembles ok, but on transferring the data it doesn't get past 0Kb. The error message in the console reads:
    10/05/2008 17:04:31 iPhoto[1484] ISCoordinator responseFromUploadFiles: error...
    MessengerContext = <ISNewMessengerContext: 0x1e417b30>;
    Retry = YES;
    Status = ERROR;
    I have checked for empty text boxes etc as suggested by some people. Am running 10.5.2 on a MacBook Pro 2.33GHz. iPhoto version 7.1.3 (364). Was definitely able to order books pre-Leopard.
    Any help appreciated!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. This Apple KB document just was released and may be of some help: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1139.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

    I am unable to order a book created with iPhoto. It has never happened to me before and I have ordered plenty of books in the past few years. Any ideas why the order button is suddenly greyed out?

  • ORDER A PRINT ONLINE OF A SQUARE PHOTO IN IPHOTO

    How can I order a print of square photos in IPHOTO without them cropping it out as it happened, instead of scaling it down to fit the paper and leave a white border as I assumed they would do??
    MACCBOOK   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Ricardo:
    You can't. iPhoto doesn't offer a square format. All prints are borderless. If you want a square print you'll need to use one of the other online providers.
    Do you Twango?

  • Ordering iPhoto calendar

    After working for several hours on a calendar as a gift for my dad, I have been unable to successfully order it. I have an Apple ID that I frequently use with iTunes to buy music, but when I click "Buy Calendar", I can only click on "Set Up New ACcount"; "Account Info" is not highlighted. So then I click on "Set Up New Acct.", sign in with my apple id and password, and then it takes me to "Set Up Account: Step 1 of 3." All my info on Steps 1-3 is already filled in correctly, so I just click next, and then on Step 3 when I hit continue, I always get the message, "An unexepected error occurred. Please try again later. I have been trying for a month now and get that same message every time, though I have purchased several items on iTunes in this past month. It's almost like iPhoto is not recognizing my Apple ID/account. Do you have any ideas? I am very frustrated.
    Thanks,
    Jianming

    Jianming:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Contact Apple via this link: http://www.apple.com/support/iphoto/customerservice/calendars/. Lay out the problem in detail and submit. You should hear back from them in 1-2 days.
    Also log into your account thru the Store button at the top and then the Youre Account on that page, as opposed thru iPhoto, and see if you can confirm your account that way without an error.
    Do you Twango?
