Unable to order prints from iPhoto online

After I download photos from my camera to iPhoto and attempt to upload to Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Costco, etc., I receive an error indicating that the resolution is too low. I've recently converted over to the mac from PC and didn't have this problem before. Does iPhoto reduce the resolution when it brings the photos over from the digital camera? If so, how did I fix this? Any thoughts would be appreciated?

It sounds like you are uploading the thumbnails from the Data folder. It is recommended that you don't manipulate photos in the iPhoto Library folder via the Finder, as you can damage your library.
In iPhoto select all the photos you want. Then do File>Export>File Export at full size to a folder on your desktop. These will be the full-sized files and will use the edited version of any photos you have edited. Use the desktop files when uploading to the developer. You can delete these when you've finished, since they are copies.

  • Unable to order prints through iphoto

    I am unable to order prints through iphoto. Everytime I try to download and order with 1-click it starts downloading and then says there is a problem with one of my files. Is my order too large (over 500 megabits)? Are certain files to large? Some of my files are in the RAW format or were taken in RAW format. I have tried leaving out photos that have the RAW title showing in iphoto and still no luck. Some of the files, even though noted as jpeg files are 4+megs. Does anyone have an idea on what is going on? I am using the latest iphoto which is 6.04.

    I have a similar issue lately. When trying to order 130 4x6 prints the upload process dies after 10-12 photos and there is nothing you can do about it. The retry function does not restart the upload, it just hangs.
    When using Activity Monitor to monitor the upload speed (I am on COMCAST cable) I see 45-50kB/s for the first 10 pics and then it dies - goes to 0 - unless you do something else on the computer that touches the network.
    No other app is having network or internet connectivity problems.
    Part of the problem might be the fact that the ever increasing file sizes are making the uploads slower and slower. Those 130 pics of mine are 230MB+ and thats just from a small 6MP point and shoot Canon camera.
    Iphoto realy needs a much more robust upload and reststart logic. Like iTunes that can download songs and video in pieces and restarts as often as you want wherever it left of, iPhoto needs a similar function to deal with larger uploads.
    Now the first attempt to fix the issue is to go break the order into 10 individual orders - only problem: Instead of paid 9.99 for express shipping you pay a total of 99.90 for shipping as every order has an individual shipping charge.
    Any ideas for a work around?

  • Unable to order prints on iPhoto

    I had been using my old Mac for years to order prints from iPhoto with no problems. Late last year, I upgraded my Mac to a 24" iMac with the newest version of iPhoto. Since I've had this machine, I've had trouble ordering prints. It usually gets partway through the process and then just hangs up. I've called tech support a few times, and they even referred this problem to Apple engineering since apparently a number of people have had this problem. Even after I followed the instructions to try to correct the problem from Apple's engineering group, it still doesn't work. This is one of the main things we use the computer for and we're very disappointed.
    Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Are there any other photo services that are cost effective and link directly to iPhoto?

  • Order prints from iPhoto 7.0.1

    I've tried several times over several days to order prints from iPhoto 7.0.1. I get to step 3 in setting up an account and I get an "unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later."
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Apple has been having problems with some of their servers recently and that might be the reason you're having trouble.
    Try reentering all of your account information and reset the 1-click ordering. That may help jump start the process.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Ordering prints from iphoto

    I want to order different prints and different sizes. How do you order more than one print at a time on iphoto? I had to place one order, pay the shipping fee and then do that on another photo. How can I avoid paying the shipping fee twice?

    Most of your questions are best answered by doing your order and seeing
    Apple's page on print products is not that detailed - http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/printproducts.html
    Can anyone tell me the shipping charge for 4*6 prints ordered from iPhoto?
    Apple can - it varies with quanity, location and delivery speed - put your order together and if you are not pleased witht eh shipping charge whenyu get to it quit and go a different direction
    Also, can I order my prints with an even white border on them?
    Not that I remember - Costco offers this
    Are the image ames/numbers printed on the back so I know which print is which?
    Again I don't remember - Costco does offer this
    I have tried so many online places and can not find one that prints with an even white border around the photo, so that is my main concern.
    Costco offers this

  • Order prints from other online sources

    I usually order prints online with Costco.com and then pick them up at a nearby store in an hour. If I organize my pictures in Photoshop Elements 4.0, is there a way to upload the ones I want so I can order them at Costco (instead of the preloaded Kodak website)? If not, then what is the easiest way to organize so that my pictures in my Windows XP "My pictures" folder contains the same information to sort & choose which pictures to print? (like tags, etc.) I like the tags and organization tools which will help me figure out which pictures I want to print. (FYI when you order online at Costco, you have to upload the pictures you want printed) Many thanks for any suggestions.

    Kathy,
    I use a method similar to Trish. I have a tag called "get prints" and one called "already printed." I just put the "get prints" on the appropriate pictures in the Organizer.
    When I am ready to upload, I just select the tag, then select all the photos that pop up in the Organizer with that tag. I right click on the photos and select copy. Then I go to a folder on my desktop and paste there. This makes a copy of those pictures in the new folder, as Trish said above.
    I then go back to the organizer and place the "already printed" tag on those pictures I just copied. THEN I remove the "get prints" tag (putting "already printed" on them first is important"). After I upload to the print site online, I can empty out the folder on my desktop to save space.
    This way I keep track of those I already printed so I don't pay for 5 prints I didn't want just because I keep running across the picture.

  • Unable to order prints in iPhoto

    I have attempted to order prints numerous times in iPhoto without success.  I have resized the photos, ordered the number of each and clicked "buy".  However once I click "buy" a gray pinwheel just circles over the "buy" as if its processing but never actually processes- it does this until I click "cancel".
    Things I've done thus far:
    *Made sure my billing and shipping address are the same and current
    *Made sure Express checkout was selected with correct credit card security code in place
    *Quit iPhoto after each change
    *Restarted Mac after each change and just because
    *Checked my Keychain for any errors/problems- none found
    *Made sure iPhoto was the latest version- no updates found at this time
    Anyone have any other suggestions?

  • How to order prints from iPhoto 9.1.5

    In iPhoto 9.1.5: while i can do the calendar, and order it, which i have done just 2 weeks ago, i can not seem to order just prints - eg 8 x 10. I did order 1 print at the same time that I ordered the calendar, and that was successful, BUT NOW, I can't find the menu item or button that allows me to order just prints.

    Thanks for your fantastically fast response.
    I finally found the Print item - buried illogically under SHARE, which I never looked in - that would be so illogical (very "Microsoft-ish").
    It beats me why Apple doesn't include EVERY action that one can do, somewhere in the Menu system - and that includes all the actions that one can do by all the various stand-alone buttons and also the drop-down menu items using Cntrl-mouseClick.
    PS: I actually AM using iPhoto '11 version 9.1.5 under OS X 10.7.5 - but I have only used it very little, one of those being to actually create and order a calendar.

  • Unable to order prints anymore... weird iPhoto error

    Hey there,
    I'm unable to order prints from iPhoto anymore, it started before the 8.1.1 update. When I start to upload photos to the Kodak server, after 2Mo is transmitted it bugs. In the console I have the following mysterious error :
    25/11/09 23:11:00 iPhoto[6419] PUT /Documents/49519329/image_0.jpg (FAILED), httpStatusCode:402, errorType:100, transactionState:5, txnId:A749349E-5655-4459-8EC0-E92E465EC788, auto-retries=0, manual-retries=0
    25/11/09 23:11:00 iPhoto[6419] ISCoordinator responseFromUploadFiles: error...
    MessengerContext = <ISNewMessengerContext: 0x199b9fa0>;
    Retry = YES;
    Status = ERROR;
    StatusCode = 402;
    }

    I wondered, reading the output from the Error you posted, if it was having trouble finding particular photos:
    /Documents/49519329/image_0.jpg (FAILED)
    How are you uploading to the Kodak Server? With an app, a plugin to iPhoto, some other way?

  • Ordering Prints from LR Raw/DNG

    I've got a boatload of raw/dng photos I need to print. What's a good workflow for ordering prints from an online service?
    Say something like Shutterfly? Looks like there's a plugin for LR. I'd like to avoid mass converting to Jpeg/srgb... is there any service that takes a raw/proPhoto rgb? Or is that overkill?

    JPG highest quality, full resolution with sRGB should be good enough for a place like Shutterfly, unless they gprovide formats for special paper, then you can convert to those, but be sure you specify they have a custom profile and no auto-adjustments are to be performed, otherwise things won’t look right since they’re likely to assume sRGB for the profile.
    Raw cannot have ProPhotoRGB associated with it since it is raw sensor data not RGB data.  And a raw file would be interpreted by the printing company using whatever software and settings they wanted, completely ignoring whatever you’d done in Lightroom.
    What gives you the idea that you need to send raw photos, or even ProPhotoRGB photos?  Is the prints going to be in glowing or fluorescent ink.  I can’t imagine any other reason to use ProPhotoRGB as an image profile desitined for printed output since paper usually has a lower gamut than your monitor, even.   You use ProPhotoRGB with 16-bit TIFs for intermedia or archival perposes.  You wouldn’t want to use ProPhotoRGB with an 8-bit format or as a final output format for printed or display purposes since the gamut of the paper or display would be much smaller than ProPhotoRGB.  Normally you use ProPhotoRGB as an intermediate format for images that will be adjusted further.

    Some additional efforts you can try:

    If it is, uncheck it and then recheck and try ordering again.

  • USA Mac now based in UK wanting to order UK prints from iPhoto

    Is it possible to change the geographic location so that prints and books from iPhoto can be ordered from different countries. I currently have a laptop with iPhoto 5 that originated from the US and I want to be able to order prints from the UK. By default all the prices are in dollars and the default location is obviously still for the US.
    Any help would be appreciated

    These are the countries that have Print Product Stores:
    You can try setting the store to the UK and order the book from there.  Often, however, the credit card used must has a billing address in the same country as the Print Product Store. But give it a try anyway.
