Unable to Paste Objects from Slides into Master Slides

I'm wondering if I'm missing a step or if anyone else has this problem:
I'm adding a new master slide to a theme and trying to customize it by copying objects and text boxes I've made on a regular slide onto a master slide. I can copy and paste on the regular slide, but the master slide will not accept any pasted objects, even though they were made in Keynote.
I can't find any way to unlock a whole slide, or other clue to making the new master slide accept the pasted objects.

Figured it out...
1. Open the "problematic" document.
2. Go to slide with the elements you want to copy (not your master slide)
3. Open your Inspector box > Slide tab > Appearance tab.
4. Uncheck ALL components - Title, Body, Slide Number, Object Placeholder.
5. Go back to the slide and "select all" (or individual elements), and select Edit > Copy.
6. Go to your Master Slide and paste (done)
Don't ask me why the software behaves like this, step 4 is the kicker! It doesn't make sense to me, but I'm sure someone with greater knowledge of the app can answer that question.

Cp5 - Pasting text from Notepad into a text box

I posted this message in the "Getting Started Forum" but there isn't a whole lot of activity in that forum.
Hopefully someone can help me because I have a lot of text to paste into a lesson.
This seems like such an elementary requirement and I am almost certain that I have done this before but...for some reason, copying text from Windows Notepad into a Captivate 5 text box just isn't working today.
Basically, the paste option is simply not available!
Yes, I can copy paste into other applications; Captivate is the only application that is blocking this Windows function.
If I insert a Text Entry Box, I am able to paste single lines of text (from Notepad) but obviously this isn't going to work as a text box.
Is this by design or has something gone haywire?
Question, how do I get pre-written text (i.e. from Notepad) into Captivate?

I have had that happen to me too. I am always copying and pasting into my Captivate projects. But sometimes the paste option is just not available. What I have done, is to save everything and close the application and start it again. Seems there's a lot of little irritating things like that with Captivate, that's corrected with a restart. Unable to paste frame from one animation into another

Hi, I'm currently working to make a set of GIFs. I'm using PS CS6 64-bit on a Windows 7 PC. This is my first time encountering this error. I am attempting to select a batch of frames from one animation (in the frame animation mode) then select "Copy Frames" in the drop down window of the workflow menu, then move to the other animation, which is also in frame animation mode. However, when I go to that animation's drop down menu I'm unable to select "Paste Frame" - it's grayed out. I've attempted to rest my tools and preferences, and reopened PS several times, but still can't copy and paste frames from one animation to another. (I'm still able to copy and paste frames within a single animation.) As I said, this is my first time encountering this error after making numerous GIF sets this way -- any troubleshooting tips?

That copy and paste you describe does not work in ASO -- it does in BSO. AFAIK, it has been that way forever.

Unable to create object from stored procedure universe

Dear All Experts,
I am facing a problem on unable to create object dimensions on a Stored procedure universe. Fyi, I have successfully insert a stored procedure ('SP_Sales') with input parameter (@date) into universe (Universe_1). But I unable create any object based on the the stored procedured ('SP_Sales') due to it show nothing from the Edit Select Statement of 'Object1', empty for Tables nd columns windows.
Thefore, i unable to drag data in WEBI when i select univese as "Universe_1", it will not sure any object. Please advise.

You wont be able to edit the object definitions.
u2022 Designer generates one table per selected stored procedure (or many
tables if multiple result sets) and one object per column returned by a
stored procedure.
u2022 The result set structure is determined when you describe the function.

Outlook 2010 freezes when pasting text from email into filename

I use Microsoft Outlook 2010 (32-bit version), in a 64-bit computer (Dell laptop) using Windows 7 Enterprise, SP1. (I work in a company and can't change what version of the Outlook program I am using.) If I copy text out of an Outlook email,
and then go to save the email by printing it to a PDF file using Adobe Acrobat X Professional, and I try to paste the copied text into the file name I am typing for the email being saved/"printed", then Outlook freezes on me. I've
noted that I can copy text from other programs (such as WordPerfect X3 or Adobe PDF files), and successfully paste them into the file name without Outlook freezing. I can also copy text from an Outlook email, paste it as plain text into a WordPerfect
X3 document, and then copy that same text again out of the WordPerfect X document, and I am able to successfully paste the text into the file name of the email I want to save without Outlook freezing (i.e., moving the text out of Outlook and then back
again to Outlook somehow sanitized the text so it wouldn't freeze Outlook). Note that my office switched from Windows XP to Windows 7 a few weeks ago, and I also received a clean installation of Office at that time. This problem did not exist prior

First please make sure your Office is up-to-date.
I suspect this may be related to some 3rd-party add-ins or the security software, first please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if 3rd-party add-ins are related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem copying and pasting in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
Please also disable the anti-virus program temporarily to check if this makes a difference.

How to delete an object from a change master?

I have a situation where a PDM has copied a route (task list) that was tied to a change master and brought it over by mistake, the route was also copied to the wrong group number and counter. What I want to do is have the route deleted and recreated with it's own group number and counter 1, however because it is linked to a change master it keeps pulling in that same group number. Any idea how to correct this or remove the material from the change master, we've tried to delete the object but get the message that not all objects were deleted and it is still there.

   then we cannot do anything.
(There is no point in changing that old request)
(bcos its already released)
2. what can be done is that
   u save once again the objects,
   and it will once again ask for new request.

Can no longer paste objects from one lesson to another (Captivate 4)

Hello folks,
Until a few moments ago, I was able to copy elements (a combination of Captivate objects including text box, icon, and a text caption) from one lesson to another lesson (in a separate copy of Captivate 4). As a result of the copy/paste, I had a duplicate group of objects, complete with the same settings and x/y coordinates.
But suddenly, the only option I have after copying, is "Paste as image". Clearly, that is not what I want... I used to see "Paste Object".
Can anyone explain why I can no longer copy/paste objects?
BTW, I can still copy/paste within the same lesson.... but I can no longer copy/paste to a different lesson.
I hope this makes sense.

Importing objects from excel into drop down menu

Hi!
I have tried to copy objects from excel while constructing a drop menu in forms central. Sadly, my 500+ objects appear as one choice instead of uniqe items.
Is it possible to import values from an excel column to be shown as single items in a drop down menu?

I have turned off sync because it kept reloading all of my songs. I have checked manually manage music. I am unable to drag or copy paste playlists from my iPod to iTunes. Can anyone help me?

Unable to remove object from arraylist

I am trying to remove a few objects from an arraylist and it isnt happeneing in one loop :
                     for(int i=0;i<someList.size();i++){
                         empVo = (EmpVO)colList.get(i);
                         if(empVo.getempName().trim().equalsIgnoreCase("A") ||empVo.getempName().trim().equalsIgnoreCase("B") ||empVo.getempName().trim().equalsIgnoreCase("C") )
                            colList.remove(i);
                     }So, it doesnt remove the object all the time whenever the names of A,B or C appear, so I have to run this loop thrice so it deletes all the data pertaining to these three emp names. Then I thought may be the size of the arraylist is changing and used a temp var for the someList.size, but that doesnt work either. Could you please tell me what is going wrong ?

Also, the exact test has names A to F. So say A, D and E will be deleted in the first loop, then I have to specifically sysout and see which ones were deleted and then write another loop for B,C and F. Ofcourse at the end A - F are removed. But why two loops for it

Unable to create object from stored procedure

Hi,
we are trying to use a stored procedure to do data preparation.
When we add the stored procedure to a universe, the procedure is executed succesfully and a table with one column, called "1" is created. When we try to create an object from this column, Designer does not allow us to do so.
We already tried to alias the column name in the stored procedure but we still get an unusable column called "1" back.
BO version used is XI R3.0. The stored procedure is written in Cobol on DB2 mainframe.
Does somebody know what we do wrong ?

Problem solved.
First we aliased the result columns in the stored procedure, that got rid of the "1".
Then we still could not create an object based on the column in the result set.
Apparently this issue occurs when the length of the column of the result set is too long.
We decreased the length and now we can create the object

Material from the web is divided, after being pasted, into separate boxes with "X" [Close/delete contents] buttons.
What is this feature called? Is it for the purpose of editing out segments of a web page before mailing?
Sometimes I want to make comments in the middle, but am unable to break the "box" or insert plain text into it, so my comments seem to be part of the web page.

this is just a limitation of the way Mail html editing capabilities which are quite poor. if you want more control use an outside html editor to edit the html document, open it in safari and paste it into Mail from there.
