Unable to perform update from OS X version 10.5.4 to 10.5.5

Automatic updater downloaded the OS X 10.5.5 update and tried to install it but failed.
The installation stalled at "Configuration Installation" with a small amount of blue showing in the progress bar. I left it for several hours but it got no further.
Have I corrupt download or what?

HT5654 itunes wont update from very old version

I can't update Itunes from version 4 years old so I can't import my music into new Iphone 5s.
I tried to update through Itunes "HELP icon" then CHECK FOR UPDATES but keeps telling me not able to connect to iTunes server-check internet connection or try again later. Also tried to change in EDIT / PREFERANCES / GENERAL / CHECK FOR UPDATES but did not work.

Hey there 808applecider,
It sounds like you are trying to update to the newest version of hte iTunes application but are unable to with the menu bar. This is the first thing I would have tried as well, so I would next use the following article to uninstall iTunes and its associated softwares from the computer and install a fresh up to date copy.

I resolved the problem in Snow Leopard by logging out of my (admin) account and logging into my daughter's account on the same machine. She doesn't have admin privileges, so when I tried to install Firefox 4 in her account, I had to authenticate with my admin identity and PW. Installation went smoothly after that. My guess is that you could also simply create a new account on the same machine and install Firefox 4 from that. I have no idea why this works.

Recently upgraded to Maverick from SnowLeopard. Unable to get updates from App store.

iMac seriously screwing up. HD corrupted. Erased. Installed Maverick (had SnowL before). iPhoto 11 and iMovie 9.0.4both missing after installing Maverick. Downloaded updates from Apple.com and was able to get pictures and movies back and updated to 9.4 for iPhoto and 9.0.4 for iMovie. Got message that both can be updated more. However when I tried, the App store sent message that with my new Apple ID it was bought by different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. True I had changed my password recently, but App store is not getting it.

I too was being denied updates to iPhoto and was intending to simply delete the apps as I mainly use Photoshop.
I noticed your communication.
I went into my account hit reset and then went to install and it worked, I now have iPhoto 9.5.1!
I probably still won't use it very much but it was maddening being denied the update.

HT5037 Unable to initiate updater from iPhoto 7 to iPhoto '11.

After downloading and installing the iPhoto Updater (to update from iPhoto 7.1), the system will not allow updating to the new iPhoto despite having upgrading to Mavericks and downloading iPhoto '11.
I installed OS X Mavericks. Then I downloaded iPhoto '11. When trying to open iPhoto '11 I get a message "To prepare the library, use the iPhoto Library Upgrader available from Apple."
I go to the link, install the updater (the system confirms the updater was installed successfully), but now I am stuck...When I try to open iPhoto '11 again (NB: the old iPhoto icon is gone), I get the message "To prepare the library, use the iPhoto Library Upgrader available from Apple." again...even though I just installed the updater.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting?
After speaking with Tech Support the updater can be found in the utilities folder.

Unable to perform update with Sony Bridge for Mac

I have not been able to update my Xperia Z1 (model C6906) through Sony Bridge for Mac.
While attempting this in SBM version 3.5 the following messages would appear:
There was an issue with the update engine. Please contact technical support. (reason:failed to start local server)
then:
There was an issue with the update engine. Please contact technical support. (reason:failed to parse installer XML(code 11))
SBM has now updated to version 3.6(3602) and still no luck. The software is able to download the update engine but then remains stuck in the initializing phase, talking to update engine.
My phone is at build# 14.1.G.2.257. The proposed update seems minor, as the build # doesn't change but it would be great to have this issue resolved in time for kitkat 4.4
There doesn't appear to be a problem with the phone as the staff at the Sony Store were able to perform my initial out of the box update with PC Companion.
My Mac is running OS10.9 and the java version is 1.6.0_65
Any advice would be much appreciated

Unable to perform update/insert queries on ACCESS db

Hi,
I've configured my odbc (Access driver). I'm using user dsn. The dsn created is "Fitnet". Below are the source code.
I am able to execute SELECT queries by using statment.executequery , but when I try to execute an update or insert query using statment.executeUpdate I get an exeption from the driver "Tow few parameters expected 3 "
What is wrong , do I nead to configure any thing sprciasl on my ODBC ??

Unable to extract updates from 3rd party software

When trying to update 3rd party software on my MacBook I get the forllowing error "An error occurred while extracting the archive. Please try again later." . I have no clue what to do. Does anyone else have an idea?

I checked the web sites, and both have the current version available as a dmg download. You might try just downloading the latest version from respective web sites, see if you can then mount the dmg and install the latest version that way. It sounds like for some reason the built-in updater in the programs is having a problem in Snow Leopard.

I have a problem. When I click the Software Update to check new software, it doesn't show anything about new software but I'm sure that I have about 7 to 8 update available. Can u help me to fix this error??

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Initially the software update takes longer than normal than in Tiger to check., It may seems like it is stalled but it is working. However in your case it may have failed to establish a connection with the server. Perhaps in Ha Noi, it may be too remote, I don't know.
Check in Software Update that ignore Update has not been enacted for all of the possible updates. To re-enable, select from the menu Software Update: reset Ignored Updates, and then check it again and see if that makes a difference.
If not you can always go to:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/
to see if there are any updates relevant to your system.
I know this does not solve your problem, but as you are on 10.5.4 you seem pretty up to date as it is.
There is no need to apologise for your English as it is there are no mistakes at all, except you typed 'u' for 'you'. *U Thant* was the name of a south east asian diplomat you may recall, but it is a lazy way of writing the second person singular in English. Apart from that, I understand you very well.

Error 1004 - unable to dowload/update from App Store

When I try to download/update stuff from the App Store onto my iPhone 3GS, I get:
Error 1004 - please try again later
What gives? Anybody knows?

You will need to remove ther trial application and reinstall from the CC app. This will not affect your Lightroom Catalog it will remain in place.
