Unable to play any type of video on iTunes

I currently have iTunes 11.0.5.5 running on a 64-bit version of Windows 7. My problem is that whenever I try to play any type of video file including Movies and Music Videos, iTunes freezes. I can not do anything to it. I can't even close iTunes, I can only close iTunes by using the Task Manager.
This problem has been going on since iTunes was in version 10. I have already tried unistalling and reinstalling, but that didn't do anything to it.
I do not know how or why this happend, but I need a solution to fix this problem.

[SOLVED] Session is closed when I play any type of videos

Hi,
I can't play videos any type of videos. I've tried with VLC and MPlayer, but as soon as they load, the session is closed and I have to log back in.
I use linux-ck kernel (uname -r: 3.2.2-1-ck). Tried with Arch stock kernel but same problem.
Also, I have ATI Catalyst drivers (latest, installed using catalyst-total from AUR) and use KDE.
I don't know what else I can tell you.. already looked at google/forums with no luck.

IPad no longer playing ANY type of video after 8.3 upgrade

My iPad mini can no longer play ANY video. I have tried various movies/tv shows from my library and directly from iTunes. When I play a video, I get the following message "This operation could not be completed. An unknown error occurred (-16710).
I have tried several things including reboot, reset, reset all settings, and a full wipe and restore. No dice. This baby is dead in the water.
Any ideas?

Are you playing the DVD via Front Row or on a stand-alone basis via the DVD Player? Regardless, your computer may well be impacted by the glitches in your OS build, specifically impacting those of us with 20" iMacs and 256 vram. Check the build of your operating system by going to Apple>About this Mac and click where you see Version 10.4.4 - your Build information will appear. Need serious help!? my itunes says - i tunes has stopped working - everytime i try and play any type of video on my computer.. i have re istalled it, repaired it, tryed cleaning my pc, and i tried updating it but it still wont work? whats wrong with it?

Firefox will not play any type of videos while other browsers do??

Using windows 7, real player installed, cant plah any videos at all while other bowsers do.

I can't play any type of video online on my Macbook, not even youtube!

Heyy guys, I was watching youtube videos fine last night and now all of a sudden it is just a black rectangle that shows up. I read there was an issue with this about two years ago but now its october 2012 and I can not seem to find anyone with this problem. So after reading a bit I checked other websites. Lifetime.com videos do not work, ebumesworld.com does not work, albinoblacksheep.com does not work. See the problem?? Is anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?! The only thing that works is Netflix which is a streaming and not uploaded videos like youtube. I checked my phone and youtube works fine on my iphone 4....help!

In addition to Flash, you might need some other plugins. Microsoft videos are mostly in Silverlight, and you'll want Flip4Mac to play WMVs. Perian contains codecs for pretty much every video online.

I am unable to download any type of video. All types of downloader cause my computer to become un-responsive & freeze. This only happens on Firefox. Internet explorer has no problems. Can someone help?

Can you undo the system restore?
Note that using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because not all files are restored (only files in a white-list), so be cautious with using System Restore.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Can't play any music or videos after 7.4.3.1 upgrade

Any body seen this type of problem after the update??
After upgrading to iTunes 7.4.3.1 I can't play any music on my PC. iTunes allows me to select the tune piece from the library, loads the player and just sits there not advancing the song.
If I try to play am MP3 through Windows Media Player same thing happens. I also can't play any of the video files I have on dick either. They play a few seconds worth, pause, then play a pit more and it repeats.

If two of your media players are doing that, we'd better have a look in your control panels.
Open your "Sounds and Audio Devices" control panel. Click the "Audio" tab.
Is the correct default device showing up in the "Sound Playback" area?

If you are referring to video streamed on YouTube or other sites that require the Flash plugin, try troubleshooting.
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first.
Relaunch Safari. From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

Unable to Play any games after updating my iOS to 6 in iPhone 4. the application always continues to ask for the apple id password repeatedly.

Try a data or application disk or DVD.
If no disks are mounting on the desktop then your drive is still on the fritz and you should return to the place of previous repair and ask them politely to "repair it correctly".
Before taking it back in, you might want to attempt to clear the PRAM and NVRAM.
Command + Option + P + R to clear PRAM
And
Command + Option + O + F to boot into Open Firmware.
reset-nvram (press the return key)
set-defaults (press the return key)
reset-all (press the return key)
The Mac will reboot.

I installed adobe 9 on my Mt. Lion mac and now whenever I try to play any kind of video a box from adobe comes up asking me to give them permission to store things on my computer. This is scary to me. Should I say yes?

I installed adobe 11.9 on my computer and now whenever I try to play any kind of video a box comes up from Adobe asking me to give permission to store things on my computer. The boxes are all from adobe but the sites in the boxes differ. Should I say yes? This is scary to me--virus paranoia.

You may have the box for 'Ask me before allowing sites...' or 'Block all...' checked in System Preferences - Flash Player, as pictured below... If so, try the 'allow' one instead, or if you prefer, continue to deny/allow when prompted.
