Unable to Play some burned Music

I have previously burned music from CD's to my Itunes Library, that I have played with no problems. Recently I found many of my tracks had exclamation marks after them with the error message saying, they couldn;t be played because the original songs weren't available. Would I like to find them? When I hit 'Yes', previous downloads for specific dates came up but they would not open. So it seems they have been deleted by I Tunes.
The Songs I can't play are ones where I didn't specify a particular artist. I can still play songs ok where the Artist's name was put in. What is the cause of this problem??! I downloaded the most recent ITUNE 7.5 after this problem occured, but no change.

  • Unable to play some movie from Netflix on my iPad. When I click on a movie an error message comes up which says "cannot play movie. Please try again". Can anyone assist me? I just upgraded to iOS 7.1. Netflix not able to find problem.

Unable to play some movies from Netflix on my iPad. When I click on a movie an error message comes up "Cannot play movie. Please try again later." I contacted Netflix but have not been able the help so I am wondering if it's my iPad. I didn't have a problem before but I have recently upgraded to iOS 7.1. Also is a certain amount of storage needed to play a movie? About how much is that?

    Hello all,
I have an iPad 2 16GB with iOS 7.0.3 and Netflix version 5.0.2. I cannot watch netflix on an External LCD monitor that I have through VGA out. I use bluetooth speakers, so the AirPlay is going to that for Audio. Before this update, this combo worked without an issue.
So as of Friday Nov. 8/2013, I contacted Netflix support, and they said they fixed the problem on their end, and the fix is on the Apple side of things, and to contact Apple support.
So, I contacted Apple support, and the first person I spoke to said I would have to agree to pay a $35 fee for 30 days of support to this problem since my unit is out of warranty. I said this isn't a hardware issue, it's a software issue, and I'm not willing to pay to fix a problem you created. So I got a Senior Level advisor on the line, and she was helpful, and she's looking into the issue for me and said she'll contact me sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday (Nov. 12 or 13) to let me know of the issue.
Here's the thing: this is a combination of Netflix and iOS not working correctly with any of the Apple Authorized Dongles. This is truly a code error that some hot shot programmer had major oversight on, and their management didn't catch it either. There was no reason for Netflix to rush to get this Netflix update going until Apple sorted out the bugs in iOS 7.
Anyway, if I hear anything from Donna (the advisor), I'll post it and let you guys know. In the mean time, good luck!

  • Unable to play half my music with itunes

Ever since this new version of itunes, i've been unable to play half my music in my library. The music is there, but when i try playing it nothing happens. The song doesn't start. i've tried re-adding a few songs to itunes, but those songs never reappeared in the library list. i've tried reinstalling itunes. I'm not sure what the problem is and its getting frustrating. Any help would be great.

Sounds like they might be MP3 files with corrupt headers. Run them through MP3 Validator to see what MP3 Val says about them.
    Longer explanation:
    http://trevinchow.com/blog/2008/09/17/fix-for-mp3-songs-not-playing-in-itunes/
It's an old webpage, but still valid today with itunes v10.
As to why this happened, data corruption on hard drives can be caused by many things, but the first to check is always power. Is your PC on a power surge protector?

  • I purchased songs on itunes at various times and I am unable to play some of them that display an upside i??

I purchased songs on Itunes at various times and months and I am unable to play some of them. The display says unable to locate file and has a upside down "i."  Can anyone help?

    Hi 11201019,
It sounds like you have a question about the exclamation point (!) next to some of your songs in iTunes. Here is an article that can explain what this means:
iTunes 11 for Windows: Symbols used in iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12306
    Exclamation point
Next to a song: The song can’t be located; it may have been moved or deleted.
Next to a podcast: Recent episodes haven’t been downloaded because you have multiple unplayed episodes.
You will want to use the following article to help you address this issue with missing songs:
iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads

Since you mentioned that these are purchased items, you may also want to try re-downloading said purchases:

  • Unable to play "some" songs on my iPod touch

    Hi there!
I've got an iPod touch 8GB with 1.1.4 firmware (with SW upgrade purchased from Apple).
    I've got a MacBook running Leopard 10.52 & using iTunes 7.6.1 (9).
My problem has just started today (Monday). The iPod touch was fine on Friday.
The problem is some songs won't play! Others will play - but eg - 1 in 6 songs will play. The other 5 won't! Not good
This happens if you select by "Song" or "Artist" or even playlist.
If I press play then single tap the album art to reveal the play bar (where you can see the play time) - the playtime permentantly says "0:00".
If move to the next song - and that doesn't play, I'll move to the next. Then to the next - and so on - until a song does play. I've tried moving back to a non-playing song .. but no joy!
All the songs I've got were purchased & downloaded from iTunes. And ALL songs play OK on my MacBook through iTunes.
    I have tried :
    a) Resetting the iPod touch. Power key & Home pressed for 15 seconds. No joy!
    b) Restoring my iPod touch twice using my backup. No joy!
    c) Restoring my iPod touch and setting it up as a new iPod .. then syncing all my music over. No joy!
Apple's technical support after 1hr - couldn't solve it and suggest that I take my MacBook & my iPod touch to the Apple store in London for them to help diagnose it.
Does anyone have any other things I could try ? It would save me a journey to London. !

Okay, I think I've solved this.
Problem: Intermittent, but consistent of songs NOT playing. Attempted to play via Songs, Albums, Artists & Playlists. When the problem occurred - the playtime of effected song would permanently stay "0:00" - move to the next song. The fault had reproducebility of 5 in 6 songs not playing.
Solution. I think the problem was a corrupted playlist. This is what I did - BEFORE - solving the problem.
Restored my iPod back to factory settings.
Setup iPod as a NEW iPod.
Re-Sync copying across PlayLists from iTunes.
This did NOT resolve the fault (Tried this 3 times)
    i) So, restored iPod back to factory settings and setup asa NEW iPod.
ii) NO syncronisation was performed between iTunes and iPod. (The iPod had NO music, no playlists - NOTHING)
iii) Deleted ALL playlists from iTunes. Except the Party Shuffle - which you can't delete anyway.
iv) Created a NEW playlist in iTunes.
    v) Copied a range from music to the PlayList (Started off small number. 1, 5, 10, etc)
vi) In iTunes - specified that the only thing to be syncronsied was the PlayList that was newly created
vii) In iTunes - Sync to iPod.
The first time I did this - it only sync-ed 1 song. I made sure, that the first song that sync-ed was a song that couldn't play.
    Guess what ? It worked!
I continued selecting ranges - and syncing. I made sure that all songs were ok - as I played the first couple of seconds of each song - every time I synced. I have 77 in total. Not much, I know
Not suggesting that you sync 10 of your songs out of 50k then re-check, then sync again etc etc.
What I mean - is try it for a small number. If it works for the first 10 of your syncs then it should work for the others.
Wonder if the playlists are stored as XML on the iPod touch. If so, wonder if it was a case of the XML not being sync-ing to it's DTD .
I dunno. At least my iPod touch is working now. Hope this helps somebody.

  • 5th Gen iPod Unable To Play Purchased Videos & Music

    Hi!
Sometimes it's a mistake to update the iPod just before a trip! So I found out as my 5th Gen iPod would not play any of the purchased videos or music I had on it. All of the other music on the iPod played fine and so, too, did my own iMovie videos, so I knew that nothing was really that wrong with the iPod. It just wouldn't play the purchased stuff. Yeah... that's right, the music and videos that came with DRM protection wouldn't play! If it's on my iPod, wouldn't it have been legally downloaded in the first place? Here is the set up: I changed the setting on my computer to allow it to sleep. I then had some problems so I changed it back to never sleeping. One problem was with iTunes. My iTunes would not play my purchased stuff because somehow, my computer "forgot" that it was "authorized" and gave me a message stating that I had to re-authorize the computer. I did so even though I knew that it was already authorized. But.. according to the message I got after that, I now had 1 computer authorized of my allowed five. Weird... but "okay"... I thought... "everything is working, again." But around then, I had updated my iPod and then went out of town for six days, only to find that the purchased videos and music would not play. Oh... like my iPod was not "authorized!" Okay.. This is infuriating as really this DRM restriction software ends up impacting negatively the honest people far more than any fans of the old Napster. This is a fact Apple well understands and the music industry seems oblivious of. So... despite the fact that I have legally downloaded and paid for every piece of music and video I have on the computer and iPod, I am treated like the scum of the earth by having my purchases not work on my iPod because my computer forgets it is authorized! But you know, I am a bright thing and solved my own problem. I thought resetting the iPod would solve the problem but it did not. I re-synced the iPod when I got home, after making sure the computer was still authorized, but this too failed to solve the problem. What did solve the problem was deleteing one of the TV shows and then re-dragging it on to the iPod (I have it manually managed) and syncing the iPod, again. Suddenly all of the purchased videos and music work again. We are back to happy times with the iPod again. But I must ask, who are you really hurting with this silly DRM thing, anyway?

There has got to be a better solution to this problem, which I have as well, than the ones suggested above (no offense). So I'm bumping the post and praying someone can help me out. I'm using iMovie 4.0.1 and iTunes 6.0.1.
Unforunately for all of us, there is not.
    Sue
    BTW-no offense taken.

  • Unable to play some purchased songs on iphone4

Some of my music purchased either via itunes or iphone, will not play on iphone. also, when you select a song to play it will jump and play another song. i have tried synching, but still not working. can play all songs on computer via itunes. has anybody else had this issue? many thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have the same problem.  I upgraded to a 4S and did a restore from iCoud. Everything loaded but many songs will not play and others jump to another song.  I made sure my new phone was authorized (click on Store with the iPhone selected in the left column of iTunes and then click on Authorize this computer)  I also reset the iPhone by holding the Home and Power buttons simultaneously. No improvement.
This seems to be a problem relatd to the chip set in the specific phone.  My iPhone 4 had no problem with the same list of songs.
    Heading back to the store.

  • Apple tv won't play some lossless music

Hi there I'm running a wonderful Apple TV 2, with no mods thank you.  My mac desktop is running iTunes 11.0.1 and I've recently run into a problem where some of the music I try to play just wont.
I have ALAC files that I've encoded with iTunes that play wonderfully on my mac but once I attempt to play them over apple tv they either hang and do not play or cause iTunes to revert to the main system start.
I'm not certain why this is occurring but would certainly appreciate any assistance you can offer if you can think of some.
I also tried imported a Wav file converting it to apple lossless in iTunes itself rather then XLD hoping that it would then play.  Same issue; plays great on the computer but cannot play via Apple TV.
    Steve

    Thanks for the reply.
    The network was working perfectly.
I went to my Mac, de-authorized and then re-authorized my account with the iTunes store. This appears to have solved the problem. (found this idea on the forum elsewhere)
This was very strange. I cannot find a good reason why this would happen after simply moving the AppleTV from one TV to another. The physical location is irrelevant as it has never moved move than 20 meters and the network signal strength is close enough as to be negligible.
I love the concept of the ATV and have two of them. I was thinking of getting a third. However, the design is not bullet proof like it absolutely must be for a consumer device of this type. The units are far too picky and prone to error for the average consumer to use happily. Granted, they usually correct themselves if left alone for a while, but the anxiety of not knowing if your ATV will work again is not fun at all.
I never fully appreciated how cool the ATV was until I actually started using one. The ability to rent movies, stream all of my content, and purchase media are first class features that would really excite people if Apple could somehow get them interested enough to try it. Right now, it's a niche product.

  • TS3297 When I purchase a whole album why am I unable to play some of the songs?  I get a prompt telling me to authorize my computer which I have already done.

Why do I keep getting prompted to authorize some songs when I have purchased  a whole album?  For example I purchased Return to Cookie Mountain and can only play 5 of the 12 songs. When I try to play the other 7 songs I get a prompt to authorize the computer which I have already done.

When I try to play the other 7 songs I get a prompt to authorize the computer
If only some of tracks from the album are prompting you to do that, that suggests that the tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
