Unable to preview SWF file.
Hi All,
We have a dashboard created on webi report by using Live-Office connection. And i have exported the dashboard as SWF file and stored in my local desktop. When i am trying to open this SWF file, it is showing message "Initializing......" from very long time.
I am facing this issue only if i selected option "Refresh before components are loaded" in Live-office data manager connections tab.
If i un select this option, i am able open my dashboard with out any issue.
Versions:
Xcelsius: 14.0.2.641
Live-Office: 14.0.2.682

Bridge CS5 Very Unstable when Previewing SWF files - fixes pending?
Bridge CS5 is very unstable when an SWF file is playing back in the Preview panel.
I only have to switch to another window, and Bridge bombs out.
Is this a known issue? Is a fix pending?
Thanks

Chart preview (swf file) doesn't scale Y axis correctly, shows 0 to 6 only!
Hi Everybody
This is my first post on this forum.
I am trying to generate an interactive chart using the most simple functionality of using 2 comboboxes and 1 line chart.
The selected values from the 2 comboboxes are supposed to go in to 2 cells on the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet cells that are used to create the chart are then updated. The updated chart can be seen on the canvas with proper values along the Y (Values) axis. However, when I click on the "Preview" button - as it generates the swf file, it shows the comboboxes with the correct labels and it permits to change my selection therein but the chart is always blank because the scale of the Y axis is from 0 through to 6 - and no values for any combination of the 2 comboboxes fall within 0 and 6.
What do I need to do to address this Y axis scaling problem? The current setting for scaling is Auto with 'Linear' entered for "Fixed label size".
Please help - I am desperate to know what is happening here! The Excel formula works, the chart on the canvas is updated but not on the preview. I am using Xcelcius Engage 2008 application.
Best regards
Deepak AgarwalHello RashmiG
I doubt if the problem relates to the size of the chart. I believe that the problem could be related to the installation not being complete (since the key that we currently have is a temporary key only provided by SAP) or something of the sort - the reason I say that is because whilst the chart did not get updated with the combobox component, it did get updated with the filter component ((I used it on 3 tab sheets with varying number of variables in the filter ranging from 2 to 3). With the the filter component (with 2 or even 3 variables) it all worked ok. So I resigned myself to using the filter component instead of the combobox.
Whilst I have got you, could you advise me of the advantage that a component offers over the other - in this case, the filter over the combobox or the other way around?
One other thing, if I may ask you - is it possible to drive Xcelsius using Excel VBA. The reason I want to do this is to be able to do the following from with Excel VBA:-
1. Open Xcelsius
2. Import a spreadsheet in to Xcelsius
3. Export the dashboard in the desired format
I can do everything else that I would need to do to update the input spreadsheet from within Excel VBA with the exception of the above 3 tasks.
If you or anyone can help me realize the above, that would be a monumental assitance. The same shall be highly valued.
Best regards

I am unable to execute swf file present in server on local machine.
Hi all,
I am a newbie to Flash and ActionScript 3.0 platform. I don't know whether this is the correct place to post this kind of queries/problems/issues here. Till now, I had posted only basic flash issues here in this forum. I feel this is the most powerful issue which created head-ache to me till now. I spent nearly 4 hours working with this issue. But, I don't find any solution even in google.
I have created a swf file, which when gets executed, gets data from backend database and displays as items in Combo-box. In swf file, if we select an item from Combo-box, collects data from database and gets back to flash and displays them as items in Combo-box. Each item has a specific image(.jpg file)associated,which gets displayed on stage of flash file(.swf file) upon selected from combo-box.
I am calling/invoking the flash file, When I click on a Button/select a tab created within my Java application.But,when the button gets clicked/tab gets selected, Combo-box is visible in flash file, but with no elements when we try to click upon it and the following error is getting displayed in a dialog-box:
Title of the error is: An action-script error has occured.
The error messsage is:
Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: http://localhost:8888/com.mymdworld.Application/DynaAccess.swf cannot load data from http://www.example.com:8080/servlet/getviews.
at DynaAccess_fla::MainTimeline/DynaAccess_fla::frame1()
Also, the dialog-box contains two buttons namely, "Dismiss All" & "Continue" buttons.
Please, I request anyone to help me regarding this.
Actually, What is going on internaly? & Why for is this error?
Please, spend 2 minutes of your valuable time in filling the reply to this thread.
I will be waiting for your replies...
Thanks in advance...

Unable to convert swf files into fla files
Hi,
I tried using Dreamweaver to convert a SWF file into a FLA file so I can edit it in CS 5. But when I right clicked the placeholder for the file, it doesn't have an "Edit in Flash" option. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks very much,
RosemaryAccording to http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/using/WSd60f23110762d6b883b18f10cb1fe1af6-7f12a.html# WSc78c5058ca073340dcda9110b1f693f21-7acf
asset is reflected in Flash immediately.
Edit a SWF file from Dreamweaver in Flash
If you have both Flash and Dreamweaver installed, you can select a SWF file in a Dreamweaver document and use Flash to edit it. Flash does not edit the SWF file directly; it edits the source document (FLA file) and re‑exports the SWF file.
In Dreamweaver, open the Property inspector (Window > Properties).
In the Dreamweaver document, do one of the following:
Click the SWF file placeholder to select it; then in the Property inspector click Edit.
Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) the placeholder for the SWF file, and select Edit With Flash from the context menu.
Dreamweaver switches the focus to Flash, and Flash attempts to locate the Flash authoring file (FLA) for the selected SWF file. If Flash cannot locate the Flash authoring file, you are prompted to locate it."
But I don't see "Edit with Flash" option. Maybe because I have a trial version of Dreamweaver? -
Unable to load swf files in flash
Hi,
since creating all the animation in one flash file will
produce a big file i tried to split and create small flash files
and load these files in the main flash movie using the image and
swf loader component.
eg.
main.swf, sub1.swf, sub2.swf.
In the main swf , buttons are created to load sub1.swf and
sub2.swf.
The action script on button 1 is
on (release) {
//Movieclip GotoAndStop Behavior
this.gotoAndStop("sub1");
//End Behavior
where sub1 is frame label. the image loader loads the
sub1.swf file starting from this label. Everything works fine
locally but the swf files are not loading when i test in my server
or remotely.
can anyone please help
thanx in advanceI am also having a problem with action scripts. I upload
everything and still get the error message how can I solve this
problem? It's killing me. -
Xcelsius - LiveOffice: Unable to refresh SWF File - LO 26608
Hello,
i have a problem updating crystal report data using the refresh button in the preview tab of Xcelsius.
Both files (Crystal Report and Xcelsius File) are stored on the BOE Server and i configured two Live Office Connections from Xcelsius to Crystal Reports. It is possible for me to regenerate the data by clicking the corresponding button within the Live Office tab of Xcelsisus, but i got problems doing that in the Xcelsius preview.
I inserted a connection refresh button and linked the two Live Office Connections by using the Data Manager. When i click the refresh button i have to insert user login and pw and the authentification works. But after that, an error occurs and the following message is shown:
BusinessObjects Enterprise report source not found. (LO 26608)
The Live Office Service ist running on the BOE Server, and i am using the following URL session for refreshing the data:
http://<boeserver>:8080/dswsbobje/services
Is this a boe server configuration issue?
I am not sure it this helps but i recognized the following message
Please enable REST support in WEB-INF/conf/axis2.xml and WEB-INF/web.xml
when i am opening this URL
http://<boeserver>:8080/dswsbobje/services/LiveOffice
within a browser.
Would be nice if someone could help.
Thanks,
Johannes
Edited by: Rinn Johannes on Jun 2, 2009 10:48 AMSorry, the servername is not the problem and the document is also available on the BOE otherwise it would not be possible to get the data in Xcelsius.
The user has also sufficient rights to view the object because it is the same user for connecting from CR to BOE and from Xcelsius to BOE.
Maybe it is because of some misconfigured webservices on the BOE.
SOLVED
It was a user authorisation issue, the wrong user (Non-SAP) was used for connection from Live Office to Crystal Reports.
Thanks Johannes -

Unable to see swf files stored in UNC paths
We have asked to create a swf movie, which can be seen only with mapped drives, but not in UNC paths, making impossible to have the file in our intranet.
We do not have any error, it is just not loaded.
What are we doing wrong?Set up policyfile logging and see if the player is throwing security errors. I'm not sure what our limits on that kind of pathing are (but the logging should show you)

Swf files appearing in preview (D8) but not n browser after uploading - frustrated!
Hello,
I have worked with Flash and Dreamweaver on the side for a
number of years. We all know that after the recent changes, the way
it handles object and embed tags has changed to favor Java
actionscripts instead.
This code I am about to paste was created using Dreamweaver
8.02, with transitional (x) html. Now mind you, this is not the
prettiest piece of code you've ever seen. I now am learning to use
CSS layouts instead of layers/tables, with php and flash
integrated. This one example is not the only time I have had this
problem however.
I made a silly flash banner (its actually a placeholder for a
better one I have to develop) for testing purposes and sizing. It
appears fine in Firefox, and IE6 in the preview mode via
Dreamweaver. When I upload it all to the site, the flash banner
does not appear.
I have tried copying the FLA and SWF files to the root folder
(the fla, swf, and html files generated are all present), and tried
a number of variations in the code and parameters to no avail. The
darn thing just won't appear now. Similarly older pages I have
created that Dreamweaver now prompts you to "fix the object tag
that may not work in IE7...etc" have the same issue. If I select
"go ahead and fix them for me", they are visible in production, but
gone after uploading.
Now to remove the possibility that this was a layering or
parent tag issue of visibility, I created a blank HTML page and
"insert/media/flash" and stuck the banner in there, then uploaded
it to my server. It doesn't appear.
I need help. I have been scouring the web for a few days now
to no avail and have become quite frustrated with what used to be a
really easy integration of Flash and html.
Here is the top chunk of code from the page in question: (the
page is live with the missing banner here:

Can't see swf file in live view or browser preview mode in Dreamweaver
I inserted a swf file into a div and it works fine in the standard edit mode (it plays when I push the play button on the properties panel). When I attempt live mode or preview in browser I get the message that i need flash player 10.3, which I have already installed. This is my code:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="750" height="500" align="middle" id="FlashID" title="slideshow">
<param name="movie" value="slideshow.swf" />
<param name="quality" value="high" />
<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<param name="swfversion" value="11.0.0.0" />
<!-- This param tag prompts users with Flash Player 6.0 r65 and higher to download the latest version of Flash Player. Delete it if you don’t want users to see the prompt. -->
<param name="expressinstall" value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf" />
<!-- Next object tag is for non-IE browsers. So hide it from IE using IECC. -->

<object data="slideshow.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="750" height="500" align="middle">

<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<param name="swfversion" value="11.0.0.0" />

Emdedding swf file as class throws error while previewing the component
Dear all,
I am using Flex SWFLoader to load an animated swf file and added it as a component in xcelsius by add on manager. When i click preview button it throws the folloing error.
TypeError: Error #2023: Class must inherit from Sprite to link to the root.
I am embedding swf file by using the following lines of code
Embed('Animation_1.swf')
public var Animation:Class;
Then i tried to create my class by extending Sprite, i got the same error,
Can you please anyone help me to solve this issue, all i need is the way to emded the swf file as class and using it in xcelsius. The embedded swf class is working fine alone (that is outside to the xcelsius).
Thanks & Regards,
Manimaran.

To embed a .swf file in xcelsius using SWFLoader, you have to pass the path of that swf file to the source property of SWFLoader.
By using class concept xcelsius does not get the path of the swf file you have embeded.
In flex It gets that file because that swf file is present in the same directory as your application.
Hope this helps

Font in SWF file different once inserted and previewed in Captivate 5
I have inserted a SWF File as an animation into my captivate 5 movie. When I view the SWF file independently, thus, outside of Captivate, the font looks exactly as it should: in Arial. However, once I have inserted the SWF file into Captivate and preview the Animation, the font changes to something which looks like Times New Roman.
A colleague tested the file on her computer also and experienced the same issue.
Does anyone have an idea what could solve this? Does a setting need to be changed in Flash or in Captivate?
Thank you so much!!OK. Changing to a different font to test is a good strategy. Stick with a standard Windows font, e.g. Verdana.
There have been some issues with fonts getting corrupted that were reported several months ago when Cp5 first came out. Caused some wierd behaviour including preventing Cp from opening at all: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3441458#3441458
Hope yours turns out to be something much simpler. -
Camera Raw 4.4.1 still unable to preview Canon 40D CR2 files
Even after installing Camera Raw 4.4.1 plugin update as per installation instructions and purging central Cache...I am still unable to preview Canon 40D Raw (CR2) or Digital Negative (DNG) files on CS3 Bridge or Photoshop.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.Jeff..thanks for your helpful feedback. OS used is Vista. After recieving your suggestion I confirmed that I saved the plug-in to Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats - and then rebooted the system. This seemed to resolve the problem and i can now preview raw file.
Jeff, thanks again. Cheers, Doug
