That DLL is part of your printer driver; reinstall or update the device driver for your printer, and the message should go away.

I have an HP Officejet 4315 All-in-One Printer and have been unable to print an pdf document.  I have Adobe X installed.
How can I get the print to work on pdf documents?

How are you trying to print to pdf?
Don't go via PostScript or Acrobat Distiller, which are old deprecated technology.
    You use:
Menu > File > Print > PDF (button bottom left) > Save as PDF…

  • Unable to print to pdf from a pdf

We're having a issue where we're unable to print to pdf from a pdf with acrobat 9 std, so far a 64bit machine. We get the following errors
"the document could not be printed"
"there were no pages selected to print"
We see the issue with all pdfs. Acrobat 7 std works fine, as does printing to pdf from other applications with 9 std. So far it only effects acrobat 9 std. We've repaired the installation and updated to the latest. We do have however only see this with one machine, but we haven't looked past this one machine yet...Any ideas?
    thanks all,

XP pro 64bit. Just updated to 9.3.3, still have the error being thrown.
The user fills in a form from our intranet and then prints it with the adobe printer creating the illusion that its write protected. I'm not one to stop them, given the forms are low value and all. Possibly if the process is uncomplicated (that's key here) then saving the document to the desktop and making the change and write protecting it there before transmittal might be an alternative, as long as it doesn't rely on passwords and keys...
    Sorry I'm an adobe noob.

Suddenly I'm unable to print any pdf to any of my 3 printers. Running Windows 8.1. I did have Acrobat 11 installed. When i would  try to print I receive the message "unable to print document". When I click OK i then get a new message stating "no pages were selected to print". However, the dialog box clearly indicates that the proper pages WERE selected to print. i finally decided to uninstall Acrobat. i reinstalled Acrobat DC and still nothing prints. The same message occurs each time. The version of Adobe Read DC I'm using is 2015.007.20033. Please help. Can'

Juanrva is correct, the kb document is of absoltuely no help. I already found the link to the KB document and  performed all those suggestions. Actually, I'm a bit disappointed that I'm referred back to a troubleshooting link that I was already referred to! All of my drivers are up to date and, like Juanrva, I, too, can print from any other software or program. My issue, though, developed 2 days ago with XI. When I couldn't find a way to fix it, I uninstalled XI with the intention of reinstalling it but DC was the only install option. After installing DC i tried to print again with the same results. I then tried to print as an image and that doesn't work either. I'm tempted to say that I'd like to go back to XI but I don't think that's a good solution. There was no warning, I could print from Xi on Wednesday at 7:44 PM but could not at 8:15 PM. I didn't upload or download anything, did not install anything new and my security and anti-virus program indicates there has been no suspicious activity. In the meantime, I have people sending me PDF's daily, all of which I need to print but cannot.

  • Unable to print to pdf from any of my applications

    Hello,
I am running Acrobat 8.0 on windows 7. Toshiba Qosmio 64 bit. I am unable to print to pdf from any of my applications. Office, Mozilla, Lotus 1-2-3 and others. When I choose the print option. And from the drop down menu choose Adobe PDF as the printer. And when I click to continue I get the little metered bar showing it's working, but then I get an error in the printer que. I don't even get an option what to save it as or where to save it to. It just goes straight to the metered bar showing its working. And it does this for all my programs where I can print to pdf. Can anyone help me? Also, this is a student version. Could the student version be unable to do this?
    Thank you,
    JimmyJoney

Although Acrobat 8 is not supported on Win 7, you can try a few things. First, apply all updates to Acrobat 8. If this doesn't help, check to make sure that the PDF port was created. If not, you can try:
    Open Control Panel, select Printers
    * Click Add a Printer
    * Click Add a local printer
    * Select Use an existing port (should be preselected), change the port to "Desktop \*.pdf (Adobe PDF Port), click Next
    * On the next page, click Have Disk...
    * Click Browse and browse to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF (or wherever you have Acrobat installed), click OK.
    * It should now show a series of "Adobe PDF Converter" entries. Select the first one and click Next
    * Change the printer name if desired, uncheck the box to use it as a default printer, click Next
    * Do not print a test page, click Finish
    * Find your new printer in Printers. Right click on it and select Properties, Advanced
    * Click "Print directly to the printer", click OK
These last steps are detailed in the following discussion.

  • Unable to print multiple copies of documents on Win7 machine with Office 2010

Since upgrading to Windows 7, I have been unable to print multiple copies of documents in any MS Office 2007, 2010, Word Pad or Adobe Reader 9.  I also experience the same problem if I print from Word Pad.  The issue appears to be associated with the Collate Option in the Print Dialog box.  If the Collate box is checked, I only get one copy of the document.  If I uncheck the Collate box I get as many copies as I choose.   The problem is that with the Collate box unchecked, I have to collate multiple copies by hand, and with 10 – 20 copies of multi-page documents that can be quite a chore.
The ironic thing is that MS Visio 2003, on the same machine, prints and collates as many copies as I choose, with the Collate box checked.
I can print multiple copies of Word 2003 documents from my wife’s Win XP machine to the same printer, but not from my Win 7 machine with Office 2010.
My printer is an HP LaserJet 1320nw and I have downloaded and installed the latest printer drivers from the HP Web site.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and if so, are you aware of a solution other than unchecking the Collate box?

I have the same issues with my LJ1320. I have Office 2010 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.   However, my printing problem is more widespread since I have been unsuccessful at printing multiple copies of all types of documents, not just from  Office 2010.  For example, I have the same problem trying to print multiple copies from  Internet Explorer.
I also have other problems printing  from Office 2010 that you may not have discovered yet.  I cannot print Excel spreadsheet grid lines from Office 2010 if those documents were originally created in an earlier version of Office.  I tried saving them as Office 2010 documents and also using compatibility mode but nothing worked.  These same documents print fine on the same printer from my laptop which uses Windows Vista and Office 2007.  Also Excel spreadsheets originated in Office 2010 print nicely.
Looks like HP has a few bugs in their printer drivers.
I note that HP released a new Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5x64 on Feb 18, 2011 (Version 5.2.6).  Have you tried it yet?

  • Unable to print mulitple pdf docs.

Hi, I have a user who is unable to print multiple pdf's. It just prints 1 pdf out of the selected 10.
    OS: Windows XP Pro
    Adobe: Reader 8.1
Printer: Konica Minolta 750/600 (PCL driver)
User has also tried on another HP printer (PCL driver) and got the same result.
Is this an adobe issue or printer
    Any thoughts please, Thanks...

I had the same problem today with new installs of Windows 7, and Adobe Reader X. Try going to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/836/cpsid_83688.html and in Adobe Reader click on Help then the Repair link. It worked right away.
    Good Luck

I have a similar problem. I have adobe 9.0 pro and word 2007. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago. Now when I try to create a pdf, it doesn't work. When I try to print to pdf I get the following error
Adobe PDF Settings file read error in :
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\Standard.joboptions
I have tried repairing the program, recovery to an earlier date, updating, removing and reinstalling both adobe and word 2007 and still get the same error. Anyone have an idea what I should do next. I have gone into the add-ins and adobe is enabled.
Thanks, I hope someone has an idea.

  • Unable to print from within safari, documents are blank.

When I try to print a PDF document from within Safari the pages are blank.  I can print directly from Reader.

As I recall, there were two separate updates for AppleWorks, one for OS 9 and one for OS X. You should make sure that you have the proper one. For OS X, the version should be 6.2.9. I am not sure if that will help you, but a proper installation is always a good idea. You might want to ask in the AppleWorks forum, if that does not solve the problem.
Oh, and check your fonts. Some fonts that worked with OS 9 cause problems with OS X.

  • Unable to print to PDF Oversize pages from FrameMaker 9.0 and 7.2

    Hi All,
I am trying to print to PDF a publication that is full of oversize wiring diagrams. The pages are all images ranging in size from standard A3 and A4 siz sheets through to a foldout being 1470 mm W X 297 mm H. We have no problem printing A3, A4 and 630 mm W X 297 H. These are all Portrait images. When we set up our custom print size to accomodate the 1470 mm W X 297 mm H we get the pages without the content, and even some of the oversize pages are not the correct size on print.
The page sizes we are using are:
    A4
    A3
    630 x 297 mm
    840 x 297 mm
    1050 x 297 mm
    1260 x 297 mm
    1470 x 297 mm
The procedures we are using to set up the printing are:
    1.      Print to PDF (Do not Save to PDF, you do not have control over paper sizes)
Under Print Setup make sure you select PDF Driver and select the Paper size as largest that is in your book.  Example: If A4 and A3 pages, print to A3
    2.      Select Generate Acrobat Data and select
Note: Back in FM Print dialogue; make sure Print to File is turned OFF, before you click Print
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    AJ Wilkinson

    AJ,
I tried to duplicate the scenario and ran into issues when using very wide custom pages. For whatever reason, FM tries to output the 1497x297 as 297x1497, no matter what the controls for Portrait or Landscape are set. Also changing the dimensions in the printer instance Custom Page Size didn't seem to have the desired effect.
I checked the .ps files being produced, and in all cases the page and file Bounding Boxes get defined as:
    %%PageBoundingBox: 0 0 842 1786
    %%BoundingBox: 0 0 842 1786
Whereas, in the same file the custom page size is defined as:
    %%BeginFeature: *CustomPageSize
    1786 842 0 0 0
       4 dict begin
       3 1 roll
2 array astore /PageOffset exch def
       2 mod 0 eq {exch} if
2 array astore /PageSize exch def
       /ImagingBBox null def
       currentdict end setpagedevice
    %%EndFeature
Note: that the H W components are transposed.
Something is definitely screwy here. The content appears to be created off the page in many scenarios.
I tried all permutations of H W, Portrait/Landscape and Paper Feed directions, but could not get output created that had the long dimension horizontal (i.e. landscape orientation). Even with pre-defined page sizes, I wasn't completely able to control the output orientation.
I then changed the defined page size within FM from a portrait aspect ratio, i.e. H > W to a landscape, W > H. I was then able to get the content appearing correctly in the 1497x297 layout. It looks like FM is trying to be "smart" and thinks it knows better as to what you want on output.
First, check that your FM page size has W > H. If printing from a Book, where you have mixed page sizes and orientations, I believe that the first file sets the orientation for the whole lot. So if the first one is a standard portrait page and you have large landscape inserts, and are trying to print to oversize pages in the landscape mode with Generate Acrobat Data on to ensure page sizes are cropped - you're going to have orientation issues with the larger pages.
Try printing these large page sizes separately and use Acrobat to replace the pages from the book output.

  • CS5 Unable to print to PDF ... export to PDF works fine??

I can't print to PDF without going to PS first. Printing to the PDF is necessary for print booklet and printing separations, among other things. It will not print directlly to the PDF without first producing a PS file. I then have to convert the PS file to the pdf.  The print to PDF worked just fine in CS3. Does anyone have an answer to this??

yes it is a recent install of CS5 but all the printer preferences remained the same.  I printed the
test page and it does confirm that it is using the PDF9.0 driver.
As I said, this works perfectly with every other program I use, just NOT with the print function of InDesign CS5.

  • Unable to print a pdf in Adobe Reader 9

Hi! I have created an eBook in Adobe Pro 8 that is 148,300 KB. This .pdf was sent to a client, who is having issues printing it. They are trying to print it using Adobe Reader 9. Some sheets come out blank, while others only print the watermark. The document has been optimized to reduce the size (file is 131,744 after being optimized), but the issue still persists. Printing has been attempted in smaller portions, because this is such a large document, but htat does not resolve the issue. I have to note that, I have not had any issues printing with Adobe Pro 8. Are there any known issues when printing a document this large from Adobe Reader? If so, what needs to be done to correct this?
Thanks in advance for any insight you may offer!

Windows 7 Professional is our OS...I can print from my machine but it's a different printer.  I'll try un and reinstalling her printer driver.
The error message just says "This document cannot be printed" or something generic like that.
    Thanks for your help!
