Unable to print images using ENVY 4500 - a red x appears

I am unable to print certain images and instead see a red x where the image should be.
This worked fine for a similar image a month ago.
How can this be resolved?

Hi there, from what type of device are you trying to print the images from e.g. a smartphone/tablet or a PC/laptop?

  • Print Images using FOP

Can we print images using FOP by taking it from the database ? Iam using the FOP and outputing to a PDF. However, I have an image that I would like to print. The image is stored in the database as a BLOB. How can I print this image in the PDF document ?
    (b) Alternatively, if this is not possible, do we need to move the image to a physical file system and use <img src> and print ? If so, how can we move the image to the file system ? I found only UTL_FILE can do this ? But Iam not sure if it can work properly for Image file. When I tested this using utl_file, my image file got corrupted.

  • Im unable to print documents using Adobe.

    Hi all,
Im unable to print documents using Adobe.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader 3 times, since last week.
I can open the document, and select print. I get the 'progressing' popup, then I get an Adobe pop-up that says 'The document could not be printed' Then I click ok, then I get another that says 'There were no pages selected to print'
Ive checked for updates in Adobe, Ive turned anti-virus off while reinstalling, Ive reinstalled printer drivers. Still cant print.
Im able to print from another computer.
Does anyone have any suggestions? As this is a work computer and I need to print work requests often.
    Thanks

    Hi Laksamj,
Please try the steps provided in the link mentioned below:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html
This can happen in following scenarios.
    1) if the connection to the printer you are trying to print to is not established.
    2) if the PDF is badly made or does not confirm to pdf standards.
    3) if you are printing to a plotter then the workaround is to uncheck the auto-rotate setting in plotter preferences directly.
If still you experience the same issue, then provide us some more details like:
    1. OS you are using?
    2. Are you able to print with the other applications on your system?
    3. Is the issue file specific or with all pdf's on your computer?
    4. Printer model you are using?
    5. Were you facing similar issues with the previous versions of Reader?

  • Problem Printing Images Using JAI

I'm using JAI in an application that prints images. My program works fine on my development machine (Windows XP), but when I put it on my Windows Server 2008 r2-64 bit, it crashes for certain images (these are large images of land plats) that go to a particular printer (OCE PlotWave 300) It prints my smaller images that are printing on a variety of printers just fine (images of Mortgages etc..) and it prints everything just fine on my development machine. What could possibly be causing this?

  • Unable to print or use external hard drives via Airport Extreme

    Hi.
I installed Airport Extreme with no problems. Airport utility program shows everything is ok, and shows my printer (Canon LBP5100) and my two external hard drives which are connected to Airport via USB-hub.
My airport extreme is connected to ADSL-router and is providing another WLAN in my house. The internet connection works fine, but I couldn't print nor use my hard drives. I installed the printer using the bonjour guided printer installation tool.
I haven't heard that my printer would not be compatible with airport extreme so was my airport purchase totally unnecessary or what tricks should I use to make the printer and the external hard drives be available?
    Sincerely,
    Jarkko

    Hi.
Thank you for your reply. No help though.
    Printer gives me this warning:
The network cable is not connected, or the printer is not turned on. Check these items.
And still the hard drives are not visible anywhere.

  • HP Laserjet Pro 400 Printer unable to print docs using both letter and legal paper

HELP!!  Have been using an HP Laserjet Pro 400 M425dn dual tray printer for 2 years, along with a Dell laptop.  Always had ability to send documents to print using both letter and legal size paper.  Under print set-up on laptop, the option checked was always set to "Choose Paper Source by PDF Paper Size".  Now I've just purchased an HP Envy All-in-One Desktop, which does not offer that option under Print Set-Up.  While it allows for 'Auto Selection' of paper size, you are required to choose either letter or legal size paper.  I've called tech support 3 times, the latest call earlier this am, only to be disconnected.  Yesterday I was told that I should go on hp/support and update drivers.  My husband downloaded drivers, but still no fix.  Unless this issue is resolved asap, I will have no option but to return this Envy Desktop, as I cannot run my business without this option.
Anyone have a similar problem?  How was it resolved?

The available options will (probably) be determined by the printer driver in use.
This , in turn, will be determined partly by which Operating System and version you are using.
Once a printer model has been out in the field for some time (generally when the next generation (or two?) of devices has been announced to supersede it) that model becomes a 'legacy' device, and 'full-specification' printer drivers may no longer be supplied by the printer manufacturer, but basic (i.e. without too many options) drivers will (probably) instead be supplied with the operating system.

Not sure what's going on here. Possibly a corrupt drive? Or the target drive is full?
Try running the imagex command manually from a F8 cmd window (in WinPE)

  • Unable to communicate with printer error with HP Envy 4500

Hi I am having trouble printing with my Envy 4500 printer. My computer system is Windows 8.1. I installed the driver per instruction from the website and use the usb cable to connect the printer. However when I tried to print a pdf document it says "Unable to communicate with printer" and I can't get the test page to print either. Please help! Thanks in advance!

Hi @Casey_Z , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're having issues printing.  I would like to help!
I'd recommend removing the ink cartridges, and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I'd then suggest downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
