Unable to print in adobe reader x

I have windows xp and i recently updated to adobe reader x and now am unable to print. i have tried to print 'as an image' but I don't see a option for that on my printer ( I have a HP Deskjet D1420). I also tried uninstalling this version and putting an older version back on my comptuer but it downloaded this one again. I have many things I need to print, and I have no solutions. This is very frustrating and I'm disappointed that you would release something without the print function!! Please help.

I have the same problem.  Upgraded to Adobe Reader X v10.0.1 and now I cant print to my HP Laserjet 2600n over a network connection.  Haven't tried a direct USB connection.  Strange, because Adobe Reader can print to my other laser and inkjet printers, and other applications can print to the color laserjet in question.  I am going to try to go back to a previous version of Adobe Reader until this problem gets ironed out.  Hope it works.  If anyone is looking for a previous version, you can download v9 from Adobe's website at

  • Users are unable to print from Adobe Reader X

    Hi,
Multiple users in our environment report that they are unable to print from Adobe Reader X. They receive the following error messages (translated from Dutch) Document cannot be printed. There are no pages selected.
We are using Reader version 10.1.3
What we have tried to resolve the issue (without any positive results):
    - Repair the installation of Adobe Reader.
    - Update Adobe Reader to the latest version for Vista (x86) (10.1.7)
    - Created new user profile for the affected users.
The documents can be printed without any errors from Foxit Reader.
At the moment we use the following workaround:
Open the document in Internet Explorer, and then print the document from there.
Does anyone have any idea how we can resolve this?
    Best regards,
    Duncan

    James,
I'm sorry to hear that you were having the same problem under 9.5.  I had recently updated to Adobe Reader 10 under Windows 7 and yesterday my "default printer" simply disappeared from the options on my control panel.  I re-installed my printer, but today whenever I would open a PDF document and try to print it, the document would simply close with no further ado.  After a bit of trial and error, I ended up uninstalling Adobe Reader 10 and going back to Adobe Reader 9.5.  Now everything is working just fine.

  • Unable to Print with Adobe Reader 9

I just installed the free Adobe Reader 9. After opening a PDF document and attempted to print, I received an alert from Adobe Reader stating that there are no printers installed.
This is not the case, there are several network printers installed and I'm able to print to them using other applications, such as Word, Browsers, etc.
Anyone have any ideas before I uninstall this beast of a reader?
    Thanks!!

My machine has been fine since I last reinstalled adobe reader 9. Tried to print a large pdf file today from my inbox in outlook express and machine again experienced the same problem. Was not able to open my printer and faxes window and unable to print anything else. I resolved the problem by taking the following actions:
Opened Administrative tools in control paneland went to Component Services and clicked on Services(local).Scrolled window down to Print spooler and highlighted Print spooler. Tried to Stop the service. After some time received an error 1053 indicating that the service could not be stopped successfully.
I then Tried to restart the service. This appeared to work correctly. at this point tried to reopen printer and faxes window and could now see my printers briefly before getting error msg indicating spooler problem again. When clicking on my printer icon I could see the document that I had tried to print when I experience the original problem in the printer queue. At this point decided to try and find the file in question. Found a file in C:\windows\system32\spool\printers directory with an filename of xxxxx.spl. This is the spooler print file. I then tried to delete this file but was not allowed to do so by the system. I then used a program called unlocker assistant and deleted the file. Hey presto all printing is now restored and working well again.
It appears that the spool file generated was corrupted and the spooler could not handle the problem. Am not sure where the problem is created. It could be with adobe 9 or it could be a windows spooler problem.

  • Unable to Print with Adobe Reader....HELP

That worked.  Thank you very much.

  • Borderless printing with Adobe reader or acrobat and HP Officejet Pro 8100

    Hello,
When printing borderless with my Pro 8100 the printed pdf moves about 2mm to te left on the paper. (White vertical strip on the right side is the result and on the left side something is missing!).
What causes the problem seems to be that the HP Pro 8100 printsoftware makes the A4-format a littlebit larger (214,55 x 300,91) than an actual A4-format (210,00 x 297,00) when you choose borderless printing.
Therefore, I suppose that the pdf shoud be centered before printing. Adobe reader doesn't seem to have the possiblity to center the page however.
    Any tips?

The borderless printing option is intended to print photo's on photo paper.  When printing borderless the print is slightly oversized to eliminate (or reduce) to chance for white edges due to media skey.  Depending on your operating system you may have a setting in the Advanced tab of the driver for Overspray, set this to minimum and see if it helps.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to uninstall Adobe Reader using the cleaner tool and then re-install the latest version.
Adobe Cleaner Tool:- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs.
Latest version of Adobe Reader:- http://get.adobe.com/reader/
If you still experience the same issue, please share the following information:-
    - Screenshot of Adobe Reader showing printer options
    - Screenshot of Microsoft Word showing printer options
    - Screenshot of control panel- Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers

  • In Windows 8 environment--can't print from Adobe reader

Hi there. I have problems printing from Adobe reader in a Windows 8 environment. The printing defaul is "OneNote", and I can't get to the print screen to change it to my normal printer. When you try to print (with button or Ctrl-P) the print screen opens for a split second and then Adobe reader closes.
I would like to disable "OneNote" as the default, but can't get the print screen to stay open long enough for me to select my regular printer. I would be grateful for advice. I am sure there is an easy fix--I just don't know what it is. I tried uninstalling and re-installing Adobe reader, so i was able to print for the rest of that one day. Nest day--back to square one.
    Thanks.

Did all the updates thru 8.1.7.  Now it tells me to print the document I need to activate Adobe which I did when I installed it.  Under the Help screen the activation tab is greyed out.  If I did de-activate it on my old laptop I don’t think it would change the state of this tab.

  • Printing in Adobe Reader 9 with HP Laserjet P1006

I am having trouble printing in the newest version of Adobe Reader 9 on my HP LaserJet P1006. I am able to print to a shared HP LaserJet 1320, but not the P1006. I am able to print from Word 2008 and Firefox 3. This makes no sense to me.
I have "reinstalled" both Adobe Reader and my printer driver, though I'm not sure how "uninstall" the driver. But, I did do a reinstallation of that, and am getting the same results.
    Any ideas on how to:
    1. Uninstall the printer driver
    2. What may be going on?
I have read that a few other people have had troubles printing within Adobe Reader on Leopard, but everyone uses different printers. I'm guessing this may be a Leopard compatibility problem with Adobe reader and the HP driver??
    Any help is appreciated

  • Document Name on Print in Adobe Reader 9

How can I add the document name to a document printed from Adobe Reader 9 (using Microsoft Windows XP 2002)?

If you only have Reader, and the file doesn't have the special form field rights applied to it, you can't.

  • Can't print from Adobe Reader X

Whenever I try to print from Adobe Reader I get the message "Adobe Reader has encountered a problem and needs to close." The error signature is:
    AppName: acrord32.exe
    AppVer: 10.1.2.45
    ModName: acrord32.exe
    ModVer: 10.1.2.45
    Offset: 0005e985
It does not matter if a PDF file ois on the web and it opens as a web page or if I open a file that is alreadty on my comuter.
I tested printing from an older version of Adobe Reader and it does not create a problem (that version is coming up when I download files that
    are on my Cloud server.
What is the solution, if any?

Kindly try the workaround available at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/928/cpsid_92870.html and this should help resolve the problem

  • Printing in Adobe Reader 11

I had Adobe Reader 10 (X) on my Win 7 Pro 64 bit desktop. I can open PDF files just fine and view them, and save them. Just as soon as I got the the Quick Print button or File --> Print, the adobe reader window goes right into Not Responding. I never even get a Print Window. I have tried different PDF's, same result. I uninstall Reader X, deleted all files and registry entries, reinstalled Reader X, same problem. So I unsinstalled and installed Reader XI, same problem. It is really frustrating.
I have an Epson NX100, with the most up to date drivers. Any ideas why this is happening? I have waited 10 minutes for it to "come back" from not responding, never does. I have to kill the process from Task Manager in order to get rid of the Adobe Reader window.

I don't know why this is happening; "Not Responding" usually means the process is waiting for something - but what?
If this were happening to me, I would try to observe the process with Process Monitor - this might get me an idea what resource it is waiting for.

  • Printing in Adobe Reader 10.0.1

I am having an issue with printing in Adobe Reader 10.0.1. When I go and attempt to print a text only 1 page document it takes about 1 to 2 minutes for it to print. During the 1 to 2 minutes the computer gives the impression that it has crashed (freezes) but the document prints and the computer functions normally. Installing the Adobe Reader update did not correct the problem.  I am running WIndows 7 SP1 with 2GB of memory running software Fire Fox, Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Office 2010. Any assistance would be welcomed.

Running Windows 7 with 2 GB of RAM is like swimming through molasses on a cold winter's morning. You need more RAM. Having said that make sure that you are not using the print as image setting in the print dialog box since that will exacerbate you low memory issues.

  • How do I get the "auto portrait/landscape" option to show during printing in Adobe Reader Touch

When I print using Adobe Reader Touch, the "auto portrait/landscape" options does not show up.  As a result, all pages in a document are printed in the same orientation even if they are not all of the same orientation in the file itself.  I don't believe this is a printer issue because if I use Adobe Reader X (v. 10.1.6) on the same computer/printer, the auto option does show up and the documents print as desired.  I use Windows 8.  As the video quality of Adobe Reader X is extremely blurry in Windows 8, I would like to be able to use Adobe Reader Touch exclusively.  How do I get the latter to give me the "auto portrait/landscape" option during printing?
    Thank you,
    Pelle

    Hello Pelle,
Thanks for the feedback. Our printing code in Adobe Reader Touch doesn't have that capability right now, but since you mention it we should probably do what you're requesting by default. I'll put that into our backlog for a future update, but I can't say yet when it will be available.
In the interim, if you have pages that are different orientations, you can print them in blocks manually to get what you want, but I understand that's a hassle.

  • Exported pdf from indesign drops punctuation when printed from adobe reader

The pdf prints fine when printed from acrobat pro, but depending on the export pdf settings from indesign, it will drop most numbers and punctuation when printed from adobe reader.

Is Adobe Reader installed on the same computer Adobe Acrobat is?

  • How can a document be darkened before printing in Adobe Reader?

How can a document be darkened before printing in Adobe Reader?

Darken the text is what I meant by that.    When the document is scanned and emailed, the text is light in some cases but can be read when it’s opened up on the computer but once it’s printed, some of the text can hardly be read.
I was hoping there was a way to darken the text of a document before printing it but it doesn’t sound like that is an option.
    Thanks for responding.
