  • Unable to printer through network

Hi, I am currently unable to print through the wireless network.  I set up the printer yesterday, and it printed ok. The printer is a HP Office Jet Pro Preium . When I try to print I get the message "Unable to communicate with printer.  Printer unavailable or not connected".  The printer says that it is properly connected to the network.  Any ideas?

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having trouble installing your HP Photosmart c4580 printer on Mac OS X 10.5.8. And, I am happy to help! I would recommend to try uninstalling the software again, (in case their is still some software partially installed.) Uninstall the Printer Software. And, then try resetting the print system, and verifying and then reinstall the software using this direct link.  Hope this helps!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Printing through Windows?

I have my printer hooked up to Time Capsule and can print from my Macbook to it no problem. I would like to print from Windows (on my Macbook through Fusion) to the same printer. How do I install that printer in Windows? Do I need to use Bonjour since the printer is already on my network? The printer does not show up in Windows at all right now.
    Thanks much

I installed bonjour on Windows, and the bonjour printer wizard did the job.

  • Printing through Windows on Mac with printers set up on Time Capsule?

I have my printer hooked up to Time Capsule and can print from my Macbook to it no problem. I would like to print from Windows (on my Macbook through Fusion) to the same printer. How do I install that printer in Windows? Do I need to use Bonjour since the printer is already on my network? The printer does not show up in Windows at all right now.
    Thanks much

I managed to work through this problem in 2 different installations.
In one case Bonjour did find the printer in the Bonjour Add Printer Wizard(an Epson CX-5000)
In the second case - a Brother MFC-6800 - the printer did not show up as a choice in the Bonjour Add Printer Wizard.
You might check that the drivers for the printer that is attached to the TC are installed on the Windows system.
In this case I know the Brother drivers were installed but they don't seem to support a remote print server set up. However, the Bonjour Add Printer Wizard offered 2 choices - a generic PCL and a generic PS printer. I chose the generic PS printer and that worked....
Printing with a print server - which is what we're talking about here - is something that some printers do better than others. In my experience some printers, particularly their Windows drivers, sort of do their own thing which isn't conducive to playing by the rules which is important with print servers.

  • Won't print through Window XP on iMac with Bootcamp

Installed Bootcamp and Windows. I can access Internet ok, but it won't print via wireless Airport. Try to print but nothing happens. Help!

I just purchased a new G5 iMac (PowerPC) with OS 10.4.4 installed. My problem seems to mirror yours, i.e. totally erratic printing of Web pages from Safari. Printing in other apps. seems fine (AppleWorks, etc.). My HP 6100 series printer doesn't have this problem when connected to an iBook OS 10.2.8. I downloaded the most recent software version on the HP website (7.7.2) assuming that there would be a properly functioning driver in this. No dice - still unable to print from Safari. HP online support site was dismissive; worse, I paid HP for tech help which vowed the download would work. The whole experience has been disheartening. Have you been able to get anywhere? Thanks.

  • Unable to Print in Windows with Vmware Fusion HP LaserJet 1006

Prints fine on the Mac with 10.6.1 and HP driver updates.
Printer worked flawlessly with Leopard 10.5.8
Will not print in windows. Open the print queue and it says it is printing (it isn't), sometimes the message is that it is waiting for the printer to become available, (printer is available).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Alan

The print job gets sent to the printer, but it wont print. It says waiting for printer to become available. When this happens I am also unable to print from the Mac side and have to restart the computer to be able to print from the MacBook. Simply turning off the printer and then turning it on doesn't help.

  • Printing through Windows 2003 server

I'm the only Mac in the house and have been printing through our Windows 2003 server just fine until this week after my last Apple Update. When printing to any printer on our system, (I have reset printers with no change to results), I get a heading with my name, plus (RE: my job), and a bold underscore with the following message below the line:
    %%[Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: languagelevel]%%
%%[Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ingnored]%%
This has only become a problem in the last week. I first noticed the problem on my G5, but I just plugged my Powerbook G4 into our Ethernet system with the same results.
    Power Mac7,3 (G5) Mac OS X (10.4.7) Windows Server 2003

I am not aware of what drivers were used before or if there has been a change. I used the standard print utility and it identified all printers on the system and I just added them. Printing was no problem until this last week.

  • Get a mac to print through windows 7

Hi i have a cannon ip4200 connected to a windows 7 pro machine i also own a 15 inch macbook pro with snow Leopard.I am trying to get the mac to print through the win 7 comp but it just keeps coming up with printer paused or failed.
I have shared the printer on the windows side and installed LPD Print Service.
I then installed the printer on the mac side with the share name and the path
Protocol Line Printer Daemon - LPD
    Address 192.168.10.100
    Queue Default
    Name Mick
    lpd://192.168.10.100/Micks
    Print using Default
I use the default driver as it will not let me continue if i do not.I then change the driver to the correct one Cannon iP4200 but it will just start and then stay on pause i am at a loss please help.
I hope this is enough information if you want more i will be monitoring this site alllllll night thank you.
I also tried to use the Cannon Gutenprint driver 4000 and all i got was the error /usr/libexec/cups/backend/lpd failed

    Mick,
I'm not "trying" to be difficult here... If you had read those other posts, you would be trying Samba (abbreviated smb, called Windows sharing in systems prefs) to print to a Windows shared printer (no lpd backend errors from that).
And, you would know that having the exact correct queue name on the server, to enter in Print & Fax LPD setup, is the most common LPD cause of errors. It does appear that your OS X install has a problem with the LPD backend.
And, you would know that the driver for your model from Canon is a USB-only driver, and you'll have to use Gutenprint (Gutenprint drivers are included in OS X, and newer version updates are available here):
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
After you've read all the old posts, be patient and the most knowledgeable helper here, PAHU, a fellow Aussie, will probably get to you.
About print servers: The Mac uses industry standard print protocols just as Windows does. If the print server uses TCP/IP, then it will work. There are a handful of print servers that use proprietary protocols, so they usually don't work with Macs. In the case of a print server, remember that you'll again be forced to use a Gutenprint driver, not the Canon one. --this is not a plug from Apple -- The Airport Express has the advantage of using Apple proprietary built-in software to allow you to use your USB-only Canon driver.

  • Unable to print to Windows Queue for HP p1606

So we have a windows 2003 server which has a printer queue for a HP p1606n.
We can print direct DNS to the printer however not to the print queue. The print queue and windows machines attached to the queue can print fine.
The jobs get to the queue and then disappear into the ether.
    What we've tried:
Generic PS and PCL driver on the queue and printing computer
    Model Specific driver on both.
Varying the model specific driver and the generics on each.
trying the foo2 driver specific for the 1606.
All do the same thing which is show the authentication window for the job and then we see it in the local machine queue and the nothing at the printer.
We are stumped at this point.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi @moports,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are unable to print with your HP Photosmart 5520, on Windows 7 using a wireless connection. I am happy to help with your printing!
    Please see the following guides:
'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Does Not Print: Windows 7.
Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.
Also I would recommend the HP Wireless printing center, website. You want to make sure the router is broadcasting at 2.4 ghz not 5 ghz.
This post, Incoming and Outgoing Printer Ports, by @VisionAiry. Will tell you which ports need to be open not closed on the router.
Hope this information helps, and have a great day!

  • Unable To Print Through TC

I have a notebook computer running windows vista as the OS. I am not able to get the printer to print through the TC. I have the printer drivers loaded on my notebook computer. I am also utilizing bonjour but not having any success.
Can anyone offer any suggestions to clear up my problem??
    Thanks

    Hi Hamoper,
    Couple of things to check.
Make sure your printer is on and connected to the Time Capsule.
I don't know about Vista, but as I recall on XP you would select Printers & Faxes from the Start Menu. Select your printer from the list or click Add Printer if your printer is not indicated.
Then open Airport Utility. Click on Manual Setup on the lower left of the window, then click the Printers icon at the top of the next window. The name of your printer should be shown as connected to the Time Capsule.
Open a document and try to print selecting the printer at the Time Capsule (you may also still have a printer shown at your computer). If that doesn't work, try shutting down your system and restarting. Modem first, then TC, then your printer and computer. Hope this helps.

  • Unable to print finder window

Back in the days of MACOS 7, 8 and 9.0 operating systems, one could print any finder window (dailogue box) by simply holding down the "apple" key and hitting "p".
How can I print finder windows with Mac OSX? I want to make lists of what is in certain folders.
    Thanks.

Not like it used to be, but still possible.
    1) Drag the folder to any printer icon (Printer Setup, a Desktop printer or a printer in the Printer Setup list, for example)
    2) Get the free utility Print Window (www.versiontracker.com)
    3) Drag the folder to the free Text Wrangler for a better hierarchical view, then print.

  • Unable to print through Bonjour from Windows Vista

I recently installed an Airport Extreme for my wireless netowrk. I have two desktops directly connected to the Airport - an iMac and a PC running Windows Vista. There is also a Samsung USB printer connected to the airport. There are also two laptops connecting wirelessly - a PC running Windows Vista and a MacBook.
All of the computer are able to print fine using Bonjour EXCEPT the desktop running Vista. When I run Bonjour for Windows, it sees the printer and I select it. Then, when I try to print, nothing happens. Eventually, the print job times out and I get an error.
I've compared the settings to the laptop running Vista and everything is the same as far as I can tell. I can't figure out what's going on. I've turned off firewall software, called Apple support, and even gone so far as to do a system restore but nothing has worked.
    Any ideas?

Installing AirPort Utility on the PC won't buy you anything as far as setting up a printer.
Your best shot is to download, install and run Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2 to see if the application can "find" your printer on the network to allow you to print from the PC.
You may likely need to restart the entire network including the printer to get everything in sequence. Just power off every device in any order you want, wait a minute, then start the modem first and let it run a few minutes. Start other devices one at a time about a minute apart until the entire network is back up.

  • Unable to print through Java program

    Hi all,
I have downloaded a sample java code to print text. When i try to print on solaris, it displays some postscript characters like:
    %! PS-Adobe-3.0%%BeginProlog/imStr 0 def /heximageSrc....
But i am able to print the same information through lp command correctly.
I am using EPSON - LP8200. As per my knowledge, this printer doesn't support postscript printing
The sample java code works perfectly on Win2k connected to the same printer.
Please help me out. I am stuckup in this problem for quite a few days

  • Unable to print main window and associated secondary windows in next page

    Hi All,
iam print line items values in first page by using main window (table) and associated  terms &condition in second window(template).
But i want terms & condition to printed in other page.I tried to create COMMAND to manually trigger second page but it doest work.
    Kindly suggest.
Attached is snap shot of current output(Shaded region are space of dat window). Also attached is overlapping of main and secondary windows.
Since i need to increase the above template sizes i shifted main window and other 2 secondary window downwards so i wanted them to print in next page.

    Hi abhijeet,
Add Programming lines before Command before loop statement,
In that Count the itab using describe table.
Add condition if count EQ Sy-tabix.
    pass to command line.
    Try this,
