Unable to print to Dell Laserjet 1320c
From Mac Air, I Can't connect to Dell Laserjet 1320c, From iMac was OK
I'm having the same issue with a Dell Color Laser 3100CN, but not from an Air, a regular Macbook Pro. It was working previously but now with 10.6.5 it is no longer working. I do see an error in the /var/log/system.log file though:
Printing failed because PMSessionEndDocumentNoDialog() returned -30870.

Unable to print to HP LaserJet 1000 via Print Server
I have a HP LaserJet 1000, TP-Link TL-PS110U (USB, Ethernet Print Server), TP-Link Modem Router (TD-W8961ND - 300Mbs Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem Router)
Operating System: Vista Home Edition
I can ping the Print Server (IP address: 192.168.1.110) from the laptop wirelessly.
I can print directly to the printer via the laptop when connected via the USB cable.
However, I get an error message in the job queue when trying to print wirelessly. I have contacted TP-Link for their input, however, they do not seem to be able to resolve the problem.
Can you please confirm is there is a compatibility issue. If it is compatible, could you please suggest how this should be set up?
(By the way, when I tried to download the HP Print and Scan Doctor, I got a 403 error message from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=uk&lc=en&jumpid=ex_r4155/hho/ipg/ccdoc/p...
Kind regards
Jools1964Hi Jools1964,
The HP Laserjet 1000 is an Host-Based printer, as listed on TP-Link's compatibility guide the print server only support the PCL or Post-Script printing languages, therefore the HP Laserjet 1000 is incompatible wit the print server:
http://www.tp-link.com/resources/document/TL-PS110U_Compatibility_List_2.pdf
PCL and PS are supported by our print servers. If the printer is not on the list, please check the
printing language by yourself. If it is PCL or PS, it should be compatible with our print server. If
not, it is more probably incompatible.
As you may find listed within the printer specification it is a Host-Based printer:
http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/learnUseDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=45674...
Printer languages: Windows host-based printer command language

Java Printing API - Unable to print on HP LaserJet
Hi,
I'm trying to use Java's printing API to print a PDF file onto a network/local printer.
My code works fine when I try printing onto Canon printers but the behavior is erratic on HP LaserJet printers.
I've tried using two different models of HP LaserJet (4050 Series and 1020 Series )
1. On HP LaserJet 4050 Series PS the print job is processed, but the printer outputs junk/ascii characters instead of the actual pdf
2. On HP LaserJet 1020 Series the print job reaches the queue but stays there indefinitely with the status message 'Printing'.
After this the only way to bring the printer back alive is to shut it down and restart it again.
In both these cases printing from any other application works fine, I run into these issues while using the printing API.
Here's a code snippet that demonstrates the way my client code is written.
PrintRequestAttributeSet pras = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
pras.add(new Copies(1));
pras.add(MediaSizeName.ISO_A4);
DocFlavor flavor = DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.AUTOSENSE;
ByteArrayInputStream bytesinputStream = new ByteArrayInputStream(myPDFfileContent);
//'printJob' was obtained by iterating over PrintServiceLookup.lookupPrintServices(null, pras);
DocPrintJob job = printJob.getPrintService().createPrintJob();
doc = new SimpleDoc(bytesinputStream, flavor, new HashDocAttributeSet());
job.print(doc, pras);I'm hoping that someone has experienced this issue before and can help me with this..

Unable to print on HP LaserJet 4L after Tiger upgrade
I'm running Tiger 10.4.4 on a Mac PowerBook G4. Trying to print on an HP LaserJet 4L with a USB connection. I was able to print fine when using Panther, but when I upgraded to Tiger, my printouts now have garbled text on the first page. After that, several sheets of blank paper come out of the printer.
I've tried various HP drivers within Tiger and downloaded one from HP's website. All behave the same way.
I've searched the archives for an answer but to no avail. Please help!

Unable to Print to Dell v715w reliably over network connection
Just purchased a Dell v715w and was able to find the driver online. Have loved it so far, with one exception. When I go to print, I semi-regularly get an error message saying 'There is problem communicating with the printer.' Right now I connect to the printer over a network (using a Cisco WRT54GT wireless router). Any guesses what the catch is? I'm at a loss so far. Thanks!
To be honest, I don't know. How do I find out which it is? I assume it's what the manual would suggest, as I set up everything using the defaults as specified by the installer program.

UNABLE to print to DELL Photo AIO 944 when upgraded to Leopard
Hi
I was able to print using a Generic Postscript driver to install the Dell 944 printer when i was still on OSX 10.4...
since i've upgraded to Leopard i've lost my ability to print. i've even trying resetting my print system and re-installing the printer. the Postscript generic driver doesn't seem to work anymore?
anybody knows which driver i should install for this model printer (i know that some lexmarks could be compatible drivers but which one????)
HELP!!!i haven't changed anything (that i am aware of!) except that i've upgraded my Mac OS to Leopard.
when i print to the printer as a networked printer (which is attached via USB to the DELL PC) a window appears on the PC to show the progress of the spooling and reaches 100% and then i hear a noise on the printer as if it's going to start to print but it just doesn't print.
when i try to print to this printer directly connected to my Mac, it gets detected correctly in Printer and Fax (as a DELL Photo AIO 944) on the Macbook but it doesn't pick a proper driver and I cannot find the dell driver in the list, nor do i know which Lexmark driver to use instead.
Can you help?
Cheers. -
MacBook Pro unable to print to HP LaserJet 1320 or Epson Stylus Photo R200
I cannot get my MacBook Pro to print wireless to either one of my printers and I haven't tried to connect the laptop to them. The HP 1320 doesn't show up in the 'Add Printer' dialogue box. The Epson printer shows up in the print dialogue box but there's an icon in front of the name that looks like an electrical plug. The print queue dialogue box says the printer is offline (the printer is, indeed, turned on). After reading several threads I installed the hpijs software to no avail. I also upgraded the Epson printer drivers from Apple support - again, no-go.
I also tried to install (or reinstall) the MacOSXServerUpdCombo10.6.6.pkg. I got a message saying that I didn't have the right kind of computer for this. (say what?)
My desktop is a PowerMac G5 with the Duel 2 GHz PowerPC G5 Processor. It's running 10.5.8.
Is there other information I should supply? I'll admit that I'm not terribly techy and will appreciate any and all help possible.
Thanks,
peggyThis leads me question two of the three assumptions listed and I don't know how to answer them:
How do I know if the HP 1320 is correctly configured for the wireless network router?
If I read your original post correctly, you've used the HP on the network wirelessly before. The problem came when you upgraded your OS X to a newer version.
The HP printer should STILL be configured correctly for the WiFi router. The HP-printer-to-WiFi-network-router configuration did not change when you installed new OS software on the computer.
It might help to think of it as installing a wireless extension phone in your house. Your phone number didn't change. Your house address didn't change. You've just added a wireless extension phone to what is already in place.
How do I know if my Mac (which Mac the desktop or the laptop?) can still connect wirelessly to the network? (The laptop picks up wifi - is that the indication that it connects?)
Can you connect to the internet with your laptop wirelessly? If you can, that (95% probability) means that you're successfully connecting to the network that includes your HP printer. (The 5% occurrence is if you're actually connecting wirelessly to someone else's network, perhaps a neighbor with an unsecured WiFi network).
Moving on - where do I find the printer's IP address?
I tried to answer it in #5 of my original post, but I didn't realize the HP JetDirect interface had a separate button on it.
So, paraphrasing again from HP...
Plug the printer into a power outlet and turn the power on the printer.
Wait a few minutes and then *print a network configuration page by pressing the black button on the network card on the back of the printer*.
If the IP address on the network configuration page is 0.0.0.0, then wait a few minutes and repeat step c. Do this until the IP address is not 0.0.0.0. The printer will have an automatic IP address (Auto IP) which should look like 169.254.x.y , where x and y can be any number between 0 and 255.
It came from this HP support page: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&task Id=115&prodSeriesId=410622&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=410622&objectID=c004852 63
If and when I get to step 9 - will this list be displayed after I enter the printer's IP address?
Hopefully, yes!
Also - after I installed the hpijs driver and the HPPrinter Driver I can't find them within the Applications folder or anywhere else. Where should I find them? Would it be a good idea to move them into the Applications folder?
The HP-ij-s driver is PROBABLY for inkjet printers and is not needed. It doesn't take up much space, so it's probably not worth worrying about at this point. The needed drivers SHOULD already be available as part of the OS X installation you already did, and you shouldn't need anything additional.
Just opening System Preferences, Hardware, Printer & Fax and trying to add the HP printer (once you have the IP address) should be all you'd need at this point.
Is there anything I should be aware of in conjunction with my desktop computer (PowerMac G5 - 10.5.1)?
Sorry, I don't think I can help you with the desktop PowerMac G5. If that configuration did not change, then it should still work.
Thanks for all of your help. I don't know what I would do otherwise.
No problem. It's not fast or immediate, but in my experience (since 2007) eventually almost every question posted here in Apple Discussions gets a correct, useful answer! -
Unable to print double sided Laserjet M351/M451
The duplex feature has never worked on this printer.
I have checked the printer properties, and the duplex unit is installed.
I have also looked at other questions/responses on the forum, and it does not make any difference whether "Allow manual duplexing" is enabled or disabled.Hi,
Automatic duplex printing is only supported for the M451 series, for the M351 printer only Manual duplex printing is available.
Try following the steps listed within page 91 of the User Guide below to print manual duplex from a Windows PC:
http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=4344091&docId=emr_na-c02663889&docLocale...

Unable to print on laserjet 4345mfp
Hello I had a Macbook pro and Since I update my mac to 10.8.3 the machine is unable to print on a LaserJet 4345MFP. I'm able to print on brother and other colorlaserjets from Hp on the network but for this particular printer I'm not. Last week I purchased a new MacBook Pro 15 Retina, when I add the printer the OS download the driver add the printer but even on this new mac I'm not able to print and on the other printers I do. Which could be the problem? Anyone with same issue?
Hello
Could you provide a few more details about 'can't print' ?
Is the MBP and the printer connected via Ethernet ? Does the printer show in the list when you 'Add printer" ?
Or, is Add Printer successful, but then you get some type of error when you actually try and print.
we want to separate discovery issues vs actual driver/print issue

Unable to print to USB printer over the network
Hi all,
I have an iMac and an Macbook Air, both running 10.6.4, and I've got an HP LaserJet 1200 printer connected to the iMac by USB. Both machines are on my home wireless network (Linksys, FWIW).
I seem to be unable to print to the LaserJet over the network from my Air. I've tried all manner of permutations of printer setup on the Air: IPP/LPD/HP JetDirect; entering the hostname (*.local) and the IP address of the host; leaving the queue blank and not; and leaving "Print Using" as generic vs selecting the LaserJet drivers. The printers appear in the "Default" Add Printer menu as Bonjour Shared, but this doesn't seem to work either.
Following other threads, I've tooled around with CUPS (resetting the configuration file, etc.), with no success. The other threads I've found on the subject seem to be more specifically addressed to folks trying to use an AirPort.
Any suggestions for what to try next?In that case, let me elaborate on what happens when I try to set up the printer via Bonjour, in case there are any clues in the behavior that I'm seeing. The printer seems to appear twice in the "Default" pane, with Kind as 'Bonjour Shared' and Printer Names as follows:
HP LaserJet 1200 @ (hostname)
HP LaserJet 1200 @ (hostname) @ (hostname)
Selecting the first, it displays "Gathering printer information..." for a few minutes, then strikes out, suggesting Generic PostScript Printer rather than the correct driver. Whether I stick with that or select the correct driver manually and then try to print, it hangs on 'Copying print data..." (in the print queue).
Selecting the second, it gathers printer information only for a second or two before settling on Generic PostScript Printer. If I stick with Generic PostScript Printer, it hangs on 'Connected to printer...' but if I select the correct driver, it hangs on 'Copying print data...' again. -
Unable to print after upgrading to Snow Leopard (Dell 1320C) - Network
This recently started after upgrading to Snow Leopard.
The OSX drivers worked well with Leopard 10.5.xx but after upgrading to Snow Leopard, i keep getting "network host busy" or "could not connect to printer".
I've tried completly removing printer, reinstalling (IP based), drivers etc etc I even resetted the printing system (right clicking and reseting in the printers list).
This works fine with Leopard but it fails on Snow Leopard..I had the same problem not being able to print to Dell 1320c after upgrading to Snow Leopard. Here is a work around for the Dell 1320c printer to work on Mac with Leopard 10.6.2
Do not use the printer driver from Dell. Delete the Printer Setup from your Mac.
Locate Mac Driver Suitable for 10.5 (Version 1.7) at http://www.fujixeroxprinters.com.au/en/support/Downloads.aspx?product=5452&categ ory=5726
Double click the icon to install after it downloads. It should create file DPC525AAPv17x5.dmg. When the install is finished you can delete the installer.
From the Apple menu open System Preferences and select Print & Fax.
Click the + to add a printer.
Select IP Printer.
Select for the Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
Type the IP address: 192.168.1.xxx or whatever your printer is assigned on your network. (If you don't know, go to your printer and hold down the Green button until the configuration sheet prints. You can see the IP address once printed.)
Name the printer "Dell Color Laser 1320c" or whatever you'd like to call it.
For Print Using select: FX
Next select FX DocumPrint C525 A-AP v1.7 in the box below.
On the next screen you must select 250 Sheet Feeder as an option. Otherwise it will only be able to manual feed.
Click Ok.
Go to Print something, File... Print... but don't click the Print button yet.
Under Pages: go to the Drop Down and select Fuji Xerox Features.
Find the Paper Source Drop Down and select Tray 1 (250 sheets),
then go up to Presets: Drop Down above and select Save As...
and under Preset Name, type Standard-1, leave This Printer Only and click OK.
Now you can click the Print button. This will set the Dell 1320c printer to print from the document tray and not try to manually feed all the time.
Anyway, that's the work around to use the Dell 1320c Color Laser printer under Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.x.
Hope this helps!
Good Luck
P.S. I guess eventually Dell might come out with an updated driver, but don't hold your breath... -

Unable to print from 11.5.9 on laserjet 2600n on Redhat Linux 4.0 AS
Dear Experts,
We recently purchased HP LaserJet Color 2600n. After we bought and installed it in the office network, I was supposed to add this printer in our Redhat Linux 4.0 AS server. While adding this printer, we realized that it is not present in the standard list of printer drivers. And none was available on HP.com for Linux OS!
After some research, I downloaded and installed driver from the following site - http://foo2hp.rkkda.com/
The test printout came but in black and white.
I went and registered this printer in my 11.5.9 apps
All details same as another working HP Laserjet 4050 printer.
I cannot print anything from my application!
I get the following error:

Also, I checked that the name of the printer in the application is same as the one in OS - no problems there.
Thanks in advanceAdd printer via something like:
