Unable to print wireless from desktop

Unit: HP OfficeJet 6500 E709n Wireless
Originally setup to print w/USB connection set as USB002 by system default.
When I setup a wireless system for my laptop, the HP unit automatically recognized the laptop and printed w/o issue(s).
I recently added a USB adaptor to make my older desktop wireless. The HP OJ will not print wirelessly even though it shows in my Linksys software that it is enabled as wireless and connected.
The Linksys software also shows that USB is enabled but not connected.
I have removed the USB connection, turned off the power to all the components and restarted everything in the sequence as per the booklet that came with the HP unit. Still does not work.
I can't get rid of the USB002 connect and show wireless.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple here but can't figure out what.
Thanks.

I got it figured out...finally!
I re-installed the software that came with the printer and configured the wireless option.
Thanks.

  • I cant print wireless from my D110a ..It says its connected to wireless network.

I am unable to print wireless from my laptop to my D110 printer. The printer shows up, but wont print. the printer also shows that it is connected to wifi.

Can you describe the new home network?
    What router brand?
    What Modem?
    What service provider?
10.59.1.250 is a valid home network address.  You might check the address on the computer to make sure it is simular (10.59.1.xxx).
This sounds like it could be a router setup issue.  Sometimes service providers set up router in a way that prevents the computers printer driver from seeing the printer. This might not match with the "It worked for 2 weeks" though.
Another possibility is that the printer got a new IP address and the computer hasn't been able to find it.  Rebooting the cpmputer might fix that.
Still another possibility is that the printer is attached to some elses router.  You might want to comfirm is it connected to your network and not another one in the area.  If you used the default SSID on the new home network there might be another one in the neighborhood that is the same.

P.S.  Be sure the old network equipment is not plugged in somewhere, unless you have changed its SSID.

  • Can't print wirelessly from my iMac

I have been runnning my printer for a year with a direct connection via wire successfully. Now that I was able to move my router closer ( it was on a different level of the house before too far to be picked up by the printer ) I want it to work with all my devices wirelessly ( iphone, ipad and macbook air ). I was able to connect the printer to the router but my devices dont recognize the printer.
    What do I do?

    Hi @printingmama,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that you are unable to print wirelessly from your iMac running OS X 10.10 with your HP Photosmart 7525. I am happy to help you with this printing issue!
    Please see the following guides:
'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Does Not Print: Mac OS X. (I would follow the steps for OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion and OS X v10.9 Mavericks, as they will work on Mac OS X 10.10.)
Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. (This will help you maintain the connection.)
The following tips can help prevent wireless connection issues:
Move the printer and the computer or access point (router) closer together.
Remove any metal objects between the printer and the computer or access point (router). Objects such as refrigerators or metal bookcases can interfere with wireless transmission.
Move any device that emits radio signals farther away from the printer. Devices such as microwaves and cordless telephones can interfere with wireless transmission.
Consult the router manufacturer for updates and configuration of your router.
Make sure that your computer is not connected through a VPN. You cannot access your printer on your wireless network while connected to a VPN.
Make sure the router is broadcasting at 2.4 ghz and not 5 ghz.

  • How can I print wirelessly from my ipad mini to a non-AirPrint network printer?

Does anyone know of a work around to print wirelessly from ipad mini or any apple wireless devices to a network printer that is NOT Airprint ready?  I have a trial of Printopia installed on my desktop connected to the network and it seems to work BUT the desktop has to be awake or on for this to work.  My wireless router is a new ASUS N66U with supported usb port for printers which my printer is connected to.  My PC laptop is able to see the printer but the ipad mini and iphone 5 cannot.  I could return the router and exchange for Apple Airport wireless router if I know it would make a difference.  Thanks.

    Hi,
According to the printer specs, your printer has no wireless connectivity and is not airrprint enabled so unfortunately you won't be able to print from your ipad.
you'll find the list of HP web enabled printers here.

  • Can't print wirelessly from iMac to HP 8600 all-in-one

A few weeks ago, I purchased a HP 8600 basic printer and setup it up to my two iMacs and to the router (cisco brand).
I haven't really printed with it since I have gotten it, which did print when I tested it at first. Now I can't print wireless from either iMac (one iMac is ver. 10.9 and the other is ver. 10.8). Both my computers and printer are connected to my router, but when I go to print something the printer dialog box tells me: "the printer is not connected."
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500- prints wirelessly from one computer in network but not the other

I can print wirelessly from my laptop, but not my desktop. The printer shows on the list, checked as the default, and READY, but document does not seem to find its way there. It never shows up in the print queue.

Download and run this utility.  It should indicate what is wrong.

  • After upgrading, Firefox, I can no longer print wirelessly from my IPAD. How do I go back to the previous version?

  • Can no longer print wirelessly from my IPad

have a hp photosmart 6510  Airprint wireless printer; have pc, laptop, and IPAD connected to it; all have been working great until a few days ago when Ipad  began to not print.
now when i click the print button on my IPad one of two things happen. 1) screen says "contacting printer" or 2) the small print box just disappears in both cases however nothing gets printed. Network is fine and web access is fine; configuration shows no problem; no problem printing wirelessly from pc and laptop computers.  have unplugged router and modem, have also verified that blue tooth is off in IPad. what to do; any help would be appreciated

You unplugged the router and modem -- that's good.  Now try resetting your iPad.
Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 All in One printer - printing wirelessly from an IPAD

I'm trying to connect a HP Officejet Pro 8600 to our university campus wireless network for the purposes of printing wirelessly from an IPAD.  The printer finds the wireless network when going through wireless wizard setup but gets a message that the wireless network is using security that is not supported.
    The campus wireless network uses:
    Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    Encryption type: AES
Can anyone tell me if these are supported by this model printer?

    Hey ibebry,
The printer is designed to be used with WPA2 - Personal and not the Enterprise version.  From the wiki artricle on WPA encryption:
WPA-Personal Also referred to as WPA-PSK (Pre-shared key) mode, it is designed for home and small office networks and doesn't require an authentication server. Each wireless network device authenticates with the access point using the same 256-bit key generated from a password or passphrase.
WPA-Enterprise Also referred to as WPA-802.1X mode, and sometimes just WPA (as opposed to WPA-PSK). It is designed for enterprise networks and requires a RADIUS authentication server. This requires a more complicated setup, but provides additional security (e.g. protection against dictionary attacks on short passwords). An Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) is used for authentication, which comes in different flavors.
If the network is using WPA-Enterprise, then most likely the 8600 will not be able to connect.  Hope this helps.

I have a wirless network. I connect all my computers to it and a printer. I can print wirelessly from all computers. I tried to add the printer to my new Macbook, which is connecte to the network, but can't find the printer on the add printer and scan icon on preferences. I downloaded a installation printer utility from the Manufacturer (lexmark), but it didn't work. Any sugestions?

You would need to get the IP address of your printer then manually add a network print queue.
To get the IP address, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Network Setup > TCP/IP > View/Set IP address.

  • Installed mountain lion, now I cannot print wirelessly from imac or macbook

I installed mountain lion. I updated as much as there is to update via software. Now when I try to print wirelessly from my imac and macbook pro it says "unalbe to find printer" and printer is not connected from both computers.
I reconfigured the Brother MFC 7840W printer settings and it says that it is connected. I've always been able to print before, so this is related to the new ML installation.

also, the printer says it is not connected, maybe if i connect it, i can print wirelessly. how do i connect it?

  • Print wireless from Classic Apps

I'm on 10.2.8, using Airport Extreme and want to print wirelessly from both OSX apps, as well as Classic apps. I can print from OSX apps with no problem and I can print to the printer when I'm connected to it directly via USB in both OSX apps and Classic apps. But when I hook the printer to the Airport base, I can only print from OSX apps. I read through the forum and saw where someone said you can not print Classic apps through Airport .. I know it's not compatible with 9.2, but I'm talking OSX, in Classic mode ... I know it can be done becuase I've had it working before without any problems. I had to switch printers for a short time, so I unhooked it from the Airport base for a period of time, but when I hooked it back up, now it won't work. I'm not sure if any settings have changed since I've done different auto updates ... but how can I check the settings? My printer is HP CP1700PS and the driver does not have a rendezvous option ... I just don't know how to get it to recognize the printer. Can anyone help? I'm not even sure how to tell what version of driver/firmware I have, although I thought I just updated this not too long ago. THANK YOU!
    PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.2.x)
    TiBook G4   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

It won't work with OS 9. Printing to a printer connected to a round AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) requires Mac OS X v10.2.7.

  • 8630 all-in-one prints wirelessly from phone but not from laptop

I just set up my new 8630 printer and it is connected wirelessly. I printed something from my phone on it. I downloaded the driver from HP to my laptop but it will not work with the printer. I cannot print wirelessly from the laptop. I have not tried from USB cable because I am determined to make this work!  I am not sure the driver installed properly either. When I go to the control panel and click on printers and find the 8630 it says"empty."  Feeling frustrated. I never have good luck installing stuff like this! I also downloaded the troubleshooting software and none of the solutions has worked either. Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

Have you tried restarting the printer? Reboot the iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
