Unable to Publish Access database to SharePoint site in 2013

I have a user requesting to publish access (2007/2010) web database into SharePoint 2013. I am able to publish this database on all sites under one site collection (test) but fails on the other site (different site collection). I have compared site collection
and site features and both site collection (working and non-working one) has SharePoint Server Enterprise Site features enabled. Is there any other features that should be turned on?
Initially it looks it has succeded but then give mesesage
"Publish Failed - Your application has encountered errors while attempting to publish. The publish operation has failed and the target site has not been created. For more details, see the following tables

Hi MK,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you published Access database to SharePoint 2013.
Please deactivate SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Collection features at site collection level and deactivate SharePoint Server Enterprise Site features at site level, then activate them again, compare the result.
Per the error message, please type a value in the ‘Name’ filed, then publish the table, compare the result.
In addition, here is a similar article, please check whether it is useful for you:

  • Access Database in sharepoint 2013

We have a new server here at work.  One of the virtual servers on this server has an installation of sharepoint 2013.  I have installed and configured many previous installations of sharepoint, 2013 is quite the different animal and I am working
through trying to figure out how to set it up and use if for our company.
A fellow employee was setting up an access 2013 database of our staff who does all of our construction.  We were successfully able to publish this access database to the sharepoint server from with in the Access 2013 environment.
I am in sharepoint and I don't see the list that represents the access database.  Am I missing something here on how to make it display?

When you publish a web database, Access Services creates a SharePoint site that contains the database. All of the database objects
and data move to SharePoint lists in that site.

  • Moving a published access database application to another domain

Is it possible to move a published access database application to another sharepoint domain? Have built an application that works fine. Another organisation wants to use it, hence the need to move the application to
another domain. Using Sharepoint 2013 online version.

    Hi,
For your issue, please take steps as below:
1.Save Access app as a snapshot:
2.Upload your .app file to your new environment:

  • Uploading Access split database to Sharepoint Site.

Hi, I'm having trouble finding instructions on how exactly you would upload a split database to SharePoint. If I split my database locally i can't then move the back end.
I want to upload my the back end of the Access database to "mysitesname".sharepoint.com I have full admin privileges but the only place I see to upload a file is the "shared documents" area of the site which I presume would only be useful
for hosting the front end for users to download. Trying to split the database to the site by using it's URL "https://"mysitesname".sharepoint.com/SitePages/Home.aspx" nd variations results in access telling me the site could not be reached.
I'm sure this is something simple to do and I'm just missing some critical piece of information.

Thank you for the reply but I'm not using a web database or web app. I should have mentioned I solved the problem yesterday.
A split database is simpler than I thought, mine is just a standard access database with linked tables. You share your file (front end) around and the back end is just a bunch of SharePoint lists if you are using SharePoint or an access file containing tables
    if using a file server.
My problem was that I couldn't upload my back end to SharePoint. I ended up making my tables into SharePoint lists and uploading those to my personal SharePoint folder as the team site didn't allow me to upload them.

  • Business Objects Enterprise and publishing Access Database reports

    Hi,
I have searched the forum but cannot find anything to help me so any help would be appreciated
I have an access database on a shared drive that I want to publish a report for.
On the BO server I created a system DSN to the database through a mapped drive.
I use the publishing wizard to configure the report but I am getting the following error when I try and run the report:
Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: -1023 ]
I have also gone in on the Business View Manager and created the connection and it connects successfully.
I have successfully published Sybase and SQL reports but I just cannot get the connection to the Access Database to work.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sinead

Try using UNC to point to the database.  In other words,
    servername\sharepoint.
Also, make sure the service account of the server processing the report (I don't think you mentioned what type of report it was) is running under a domain user account that has access to the share (rather than the default local system).  You can set this in the CCM.

  • Publishing Infopath form on SharePoint site

    Hi,
We are working on some assignment for customer,
We have created a Excel with External Data source (SQL database) to pull data into worksheet. We have used option ‘Refresh data when opening the file’. We are using that data to create Power view reports
in excel. This excel is to be published on share point online site. We uploaded this excel on share point site. But When it is opened in Online Excel it shows warning as 'Be careful. This workbook contains one or more queries that
might be unsafe.Do you want to enable these queries?.'
If click yes it shows error 'External Data Refresh Failed:We are unable to refresh one or more data connections in this workbook. The following connections failed to refresh:'.
Please note that we don’t have central administration rights over share point online site so we can’t
do settings for the same there.

    Hi,
We are working on your suggested solution to implement this we have created a Data Management Gateway inside Power BI and also created a data source with windows user authentication.
However We have uploaded the excel workbook in SharePoint shared location and when we try to open it we are getting below error message.
    Connection: connection name
Error: OnPremise error: Sorry, we are not able to refresh this data connection. On-premises data sources can only be refreshed via scheduled refresh in Power BI for Office 365.
An error occurred while processing table 'table name'. The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.
Could you please help us to find out from where we can schedule data refresh?
The ‘Schedule Data Refresh’ option which you mentioned in mail will that need any plugin of power bi to install?
Please share your inputs on the same.

  • How can I add a trusted site in Safari to access our secure Sharepoint site from the internet?

My company has a secure sharepoint site that we access from the internet that requires our Active Directory logon. The Safari on the iPad does not allow you to add the URL as a trusted site and thus it prompts you for your username and password multiple times when navigating to various content.  The solution for full blown browsers is to just add the URL as a trusted site in your browser security settings.  Is there a work around for this or will Apple perhaps add this capability to add trusted sites to the mobile version of Safari?

Non-Windows browsers do not have a concept of a "trusted" site. In Windows, IE and Chrome do not repeatedly prompt for credentials because they use the user's login credentials on the desktop. Other devices do not have this capability. Instead,
you need to use something like ADFS to authenticate users.

  • 403 Forbidden Error while trying to access External SharePoint site Via Client Object Model

    Hi,
I am accessing the External SharePoint site from an intranet. When I try to access local sharepoint site in my intranet via Client object model to upload few documents into a library, it works perfectly fine without any issues.
But when I try to do the same (upload few docs ) to an external SharePoint 2010 site out of my intranet from my intranet, I get 403, forbidden error. It looks like there is some issue with login credentials of this site. But when I try to navigate to the
site URL in Visual studio  2010, it asks for credentials and takes me to home page.
I supplied the credentials in different forms like
    ctx.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("username", "password", "domain");
    and
    clientContext.AuthenticationMode = ClientAuthenticationMode.FormsAuthentication;
    and
    FormsAuthenticationLoginInfo formsAuthInfo = new FormsAuthenticationLoginInfo("MyUser", "MyPassword");
    clientContext.FormsAuthenticationLoginInfo = formsAuthInfo;
but nothing seems working and I get the Same 403 error. What am I missing here?
    Thanks,
    K.V.N.PAVAN

    Hi Pal,
Thanks for posting your query, Just try to add credentials to your clientContext object as mentioned below
    NetworkCredential credentials =
         new NetworkCredential("username", "pwd", "domain");
    clientContext .Credentials = credentials;
    or use
    clientContext.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultNetworkCredentials;
I hope this will be helpful to you, If this works, Please mark it as Answered.

  • Access DB to SharePoint

    Hi
What options do I have moving an access database with several tables and relationships to sharepoint?
    Are there two methods ?
    1. convert access to lists/lookups
    2. run access under access services, does this retain tables and relationships?
The other question about Access itself is that some tutorials mention converting database to 'Web Database', is this a required step?
When I created a Web Database the relationships is grayed out.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You have two method to publish your Access database to SharePoint.
1.You can export access database to a SharePoint list:
    http://plexhosted.com/billing/knowledgebase/275/How-to-publish-Access-2013-database-on-a-SharePoint-2013-Enterprise-site.html
    2. Build and publish an Access database to SharePoint.
When you publish a web database, Access Services creates a SharePoint site that contains the database. All of the database objects and data move to SharePoint lists in that site.
    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Build-and-publish-an-Access-database-to-SharePoint-e68bf007-410c-43b2-bf21-322ddbcf5411?CorrelationId=c609c05b-508e-4e6e-b9b8-5bae2b083336&ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
And you can retain tables and relationships.

  • Displaying Access Data in SharePoint 2010/2013

We have an old application. The website is designed using Front Page that retrieves data from an Access Database. The web site has a few fields. The user enters the information and hits the Submit Button. The application runs a SQL query and fetches
data from Access DB. Data then shows up in a Grid.
I want to create this solution in SharePoint. Still not sure whether the data should reside in SharePoint or in Access.
    What is the best approach?
I should transfer data into SharePoint from Access. Then prompt the user to enter some data.
Would InfoPath be a good choice?
If I leave the data in Access, is Data View Web Part the preferred way to get data?
    Thanks so much!
    Mayank

    Hi Mayank,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to dispaly Access Database data in SharePoint.
If your Access Database is a web database, you can publlish your Access database to SharePoint with the following method:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/hub/archive/2010/11/08/publish-your-access-database-to-sharepoint.aspx

If your Access Database is a desktop database, you can publish your Access database to SharePoint with the following method:

  • Trying to access SharePoint Site, Hosted in Azure, from public Internet

I am looking for basic guidance on how to browse a SharePoint 2013 Environment, Hosted in
Azure, from a PC not located on the same network. In other words from an internet connected PC. I believe this was working until some Azure or Windows update took place, and now I can no longer connect to my environment
via SharePoint Designer, IE, or ShareGate migration tool. (I am NOT looking to open up a public facing website with Anonymous access.)
Currently when I try to access http://Server_Name.cloudapp.net I end up looking at a IIS 8 Splash Screen.
There seems to be a combination of settings that need to be in order for this to happen. I believe they fall into the following topics Any help is appreciated.
    Azure Settings:
    DNS name: SERVER_NAME.cloudapp.net
    ENDPOINTS
    IIS Settings:
    Bindings
    DNS Server Settings:
    Host A Records
    SharePoint Settings:
    Alternate Access Mappings
    Other:
    Hosts File
    Windows Server Firewall

    Hi,
How did you publish the SharePoint site hosted in Azure to Internet?
I recommend to follow the link below to see if the issue still occurs:
    http://thuansoldier.net/?p=4044
As Microsoft Azure changes public virtual IP address every time you turn on your virtual machine, please make sure you check the new address then assign it to SharePoint AAM again.
