Unable to re-connect to iPadmini to home wifi

My new iPad mini suddenly cannot connect to my home wifi, all other macs are working fine.

Rebooting your router even though everything else is connecting can help.
Turn WiFi off and on again on the iPad.
Settings>WiFi>Network name>Tap the blue arrow next to the name>Forget This Network. Try to join again.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Try to join again.

  • How to connect LG Ally to home wifi?

I hit the icon to turn on wifi and it says it cannot turn on.  I don't know how to fix this.  Can anyone help?

You didn't indicate why it won't connect, the exact message or whatever.  It is pretty simple to do, I don't know why you would need to use an App.  I try to avoid additional Apps so they don't use up resources.
    Settings,
    Wireless & networks
    Set up Wi-Fi network
Add Wi-Fi network (you may be having trouble here if you have security on your home wifi, you need to input the security code, some people lose it) - save the step
Go back to Wi-Fi settings, where you just were
    Turn on Wi-Fi
You can also check off if you want to be alerted when a new open network is available -- I prefer a secured network.
The problem I have had is that my phone won't switch between WiFi and 3G mode automatically.  I found out when my home wifi went down.  I was told by Verizon to shut off my WiFi to use the 3G, etc.  I don't understand why that would be necessary (ie., it isn't necessary on the IPhone).  I chose to keep WiFi off.

  • New to imac.....cant connect to to my home wifi

just start using imac but when set up the wifi network, it cannot show my home's wifi on the list, even when i type the network name and password, it also showed no network found. But the imac can search my iphone hotspot and connected it.
While my home wifi is able to connect to ipone, ipod, psp and other PCs, will it be any problem with my imac, or will i need to set up anythings for this Or is my router not support imac?

i am using 10.7.2 (lion) I juz received my imac yesterday...my wifi router is next to my room.. after trying for couple hours, it finally connected to my home wifi....so is it something related to the hardware of imac or juz the software problem?
It is tough to tell, it most likely is software related but impossible to tell. If you live in an suburban area that that has lots of wi-fi networks in the area there could be a channel conflict, it could be the DNS settings your ISP uses, or it can be the modem and/router are old and out of date, and the list goes on.
If it is still currently connected then leave it alone, if the problem comes back I already provided one solution in my first post. If those don't work then post back and we can try other items.

  • Can't connect Iphone 4 to Home WIFI

I have tried just about everything to connect my Iphone 4 to my home WIFI. Short of getting a new router I have a Linksys Wireless G Router WRT54G. My security is a WPA security. Apple Expert at the Apple store told me to set up WPA2 but that is not compatible according to Linksys. We removed all security and still could not connect. My laptops work fine. My TIVO works fine. I am able to connect to other WIFIS like a neighbors whose is not secure and the WIFI at the Apple Store. Is there some type of setting in my router we are not setting correctly? Kind of frustrated and don't want to purchase a new router if we don't have to. Any help is appreciated.

Having a similar problem. My Linksys is a WRT54G2 v1.5. And it has worked fine in the past. But lately (I can't say exactly when it changed) my wi-fi connection on my iPhoene is terrible. The SPeedtest.net app consistantly gives me a ping in the 200 range, dowload speeds around 0.2 and upload speeds of 0.0 while I'm standing right next to it. All other devices and laptops connect fine and test at much higher speeds, and my phone connects fine everywhere else. Multiple resets of the router, the DSL modem and my iPhone have made no difference, nor has resetting all network settings on my iPhone. In fact I just did a complete restore to my iPhone 2 days ago, and the issue is unchanged.
    And advise would be appreciated.

  • Can not connect iphone 3g to home wifi

My iphone won't connect to home wifi. Does not even show it as finding it. However, my other iphones connect just fine.

Does the iPhone connect to other wifi networks?
If yes, then I would suggest that you turn off your wireless router for 10+ seconds. Power it back on and see if the iPhone 3G works to connect to the network
If no, then you could have some faulty hardware in the iPhone. Try to turn the iPhone off, and then on again as well as the wifi setting on the iPhone. If it still doesn't work then try to reset first, followed by a restore from a backup, and then restore the iPhone as set up as a new iPhone. If after all that it still doesn't work then it probably is a hardware issue

  • TS1398 I am unable to connect iPhones to our home wifi. Other devices work fine.

Recently, I was having issues with our D-Link Dir-665. I did a factory reset to it on the routers settings (ie. 192.168.0.1). I was able to succsessfully connect my laptop, as well as our Kindle Fire HD. However, when trying to connect our iPhones (4 & 4s), it does not even see the SSID. So, we tried setting it up under "other network" and it says "Could not find network". After searching some other forums we also ended up reseting the network settings, hard resets and syncing the devices as well. All to no avail. . The router gives the option to add the device but requires a PIN from the devices (not really sure if this will even help)...
When I reset the router I am sure it probably reset things like the WPA and channels etc. I am pretty lost at this point. Help
    Thanks

I was able to do a full reset on the router (pushing the tiny button near the power input). Then ran through the setup process and it started working on my device.

  • Unable to wirelessly connect to a new home network

My problems began because our ISP (Cox Comm.) informed us that our modem was out-of-date and needed to be replaced, so I bought a new modem (Motorola/ARRIS SB6121 DOCSIS 3.0 CABLE MODEM) and a new router (ASUS RT-N66U Gigabit Router Wireless-N900) to boot.
I've been able to connect our iMac & MacBook Air but not our 2 iPads (MC775LL/A & MD417LL/A) and 2 iPhones (Both are (Model # MC924LL/A).
Since they're all older models, we're continuing to use iOS 7.1.1 rather than to upgrade to 7.1.2.
Would it help to connect each wireless device (1 at a time, of course) to the primary computer and then try again?
Once I get those guys up and running, then I can tackle connecting to our TV and DirecTV service. Whew!
I'm not sure which community is the best choice for this issue but the Apple support communities have come to my rescue before, so I'm optimistic someone will help me get through this.
    Thanks-
    Linda M

    Thank you for the reply.
I know that shared libraries an only be accessed on the same network. That's not the problem. The problem is that when a network library is selected in the iPhone, leaving the Wi-Fi network causes the problem that the iPhone library cannot be accessed anymore. I need to reboot the phone to get access again.

  • My Iphone 3G 4.2.1 won't connect to ONLY my home wifi.

After upgrading my Iphone 3G 8GB to 4.2.1 I have had some problems connecting to the wifi router at home. It connects just about everywhere else, ie work, starbucks and the wifi connection at my college campus at The Art Institute of Atlanta. I have tried power cycling the router, resetting network settings on my iphone, restoring the iphone to factory default and also looked for the option to renew lease for that particular Wifi signal but there is no option for it. Also on the advanced options for my home network (in my iphone settings) there is no visible IP address or any other info. just blank dialog boxes where that info should be. 3G works fine and it works fine on other wifi networks but I think it might be a setting regarding my wifi router. Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance,
    GenerationSeven

The WebSheet that appears when you join a captive network should eventually load the web site.  However, if <https://1.1.1.1/> uses a self-signed certificate (or any certificate that can't be validated), there is a known issue that prevents WebSheet from loading the page.
To get around this, launch Safari and navigate to any web site.  You should be redirected to <https://1.1.1.1/> again, at which point you can accept the self-signed certificate, authenticate, and then connect to the captive network.

  • Can you help me connect MacBook Pro to home wifi?

My iMac will connect to my wireless router but my MacBook Pro will not. Network set up utility falls. Tried all the restarting stuff already. There is not IP address for the router on the laptop, but there is one on the iMac. That is the only difference I can see.

Figured it out. My ex-husband had enabled MAC address filtering on the router firewall. The iMac's was already registered but the laptop's was not.

  • New Ipad mini will not connect automatically to home WiFi network

I use a range of Apple devices at home, IPhone 4, MacBook Pro and IMAC.
They all see and connect automatically to my WiFi home network. I never experienced any difficulty with my DLINK router.
I have received a couple of days ago my new Ipad mini (Wifi+ cellullar), running IOS 602, but not equipped with a SIM card.
The device never connects automatically to the home WiFi network.
I need to open the Settings app, chose the WiFi submenu and select manually my "dlink" network. Then only can I work with my network.
I need to perform this each time I leave my home or I restart the device.
As I am experienced with Apple devices I noticed this behaviour right away and can confirm that the settings on the Ipad mini are the same as the ones of the IPhone 4. I am certain that this is a bug.
Any suggestion to overcome this major frustration?
    Patrick

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • IPhone 5 no longer connecting to home wifi after adding new iPhone 5s

I just bought my husband a new iPhone 5s and successfully connected it to our home wifi; however, now my iPhone 5 won't connect.  All other home devices will connect without an issue. I've tried Reseting the Network Setting on my iPhone and that does not work.  It first gives me a message that states it is "unable" to connect to the network, then when I try again, it says the password is incorrect (and it is not).  I'ver tried turning my router off and on again as well.  Is there a way to just set an IP address maybe?

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

  • New ipod touch 4th gen wont connect to home wifi livebox?

Hi I bought a new ipod touch yesterday 4th generation iOS5, I haven't been able to connect it to my home wifi at all. My brother's old Ipod touch connects perfectly fine, I know I'm not typing in an incorrect WEP key, but it just says "unable to join network" I have an orange (wanadoo) livebox. Any help would be much appreciated. I've tried resetting network settings/restarting it/restoring it etc etc but nothing works.

  • IPhone 5 will no longer connect to home wifi

My iPhone 5 has been connecting to my home wifi without any troubles, however all of a sudden, for the last couple of days it will no longer connect. When I go to Settings, it shows my the name of my home network next to Wifi as though it's connected, however if I go into the Wifi settings, instead of a tick next to my home network, it has the little pinwheel that shows it's trying to connect to it. The wifi triangle never appears at the top of the screen and the wifi never fully connects.
My wifi is working normally when I connect to other connections outside of my home.
I have reset Network Connections, re-entered my home wifi password, but I still have the same result.
The only thing I can think of is that there are now more phones in the house using our wifi connection so maybe I have somehow been kicked off?
    Please Help!

    Hi Brenden,
Thanks for your reply. I had already tried the steps in that article and I don't know how, but a few hours after I reset my network connections & re-entered the wifi password, the wifi began working again.
Now some of the other members in the household can no longer connect so it appears I have bumped them off!
Oh well at least mine is working again!
Thank you for taking the time to answer my query.
