Unable to re-download TV shows-Any idea?

I have purchased several seasons of various TV shows on my Apple TV. A few months ago I lost everything when my external hard drive and Time Machine were both wiped by a lightning strike. Thank goodness my Mac was plugged into a surge protector. I lost everything. Apple was nice enough to let me re-download all of my audiobooks. iCloud was coming out in a few days so I was told that I could re-download my TV shows and music using that. Unfortunately when I go to "purchased", my episodes all say "Downloaded" next to them and won't let me re-download them. I emailed iTunes support. They told me to contact iCloud support. iCloud support told me to contact iTunes support. iTunes support said there was nothing they could do because they made an exception for me back in August and let me re-download those audiobook files. They finally told me that they couldn't help me.
I'm not asking for them to make an exception. I just want iCloud to do what it is advertised to do. Does anybody have any tricks or ideas? The original series were downloaded on my 1st generation AppleTV. I am running OS X Lion 10.5.2. iTunes 10.5.1 Will I be able to download the episodes on my iPad2 and then sync them onto my Mac and by extension, my hard drive?

I have a new ipad2. I am using Lion 10.7.2, itunes 10.5.1. Today I bought a season pass for the HD version of this season of Nikita. I was able to download them to my ipad and my mac pro. The ipad will play them but the mac pro WILL NOT play them. My first generation apple TV does not even show up in the device list when I open itunes; therefore I can't get the episodes on the apple tv to watch on my 40 inch TV. I will have to watch them on my ipad. I spent 3 hours on the phone with apple support. Even the second level support couldn't help. He called itunes and they didn't have any definite answer. The itunes people suggested I delete the downloads from my computer and re download them. which I did. They still will not play on my mac pro. It looks like the owners of the original apple tv devices are stuck with a useless piece of hardware.

These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
Mac OS X:  ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~) refers to your Home directory.
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

Go to Finder > Preferences then select the General tab
Make sure External disks is selected.

You have to upgrade Mac OS X. First, open  > About this Mac, and tell me what processor you have. If it's a Intel Core Solo, Duo or 2 Duo, you can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
First, buy Mac OS X Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard Make a backup of your files, insert the DVD and upgrade to Snow Leopard. After upgrading, open  > Software Update, and install 10.6.8. Finally, open  > Software Update, and install the most recent iTunes.

Since your settings were updated? Do you mean the iOS? Try this.
Quit the mail app completely. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Launch the mail app again.

If your screen is frozen and you can't push the home button to return to the home screen, reset the phone by pressing the home button and the sleep/wake button on top simultaneously until the grey apple appears.
If the screen only freezes while you're using the app, you should delete and redownload the app.
If that doesn't help, you would need to contact the app's developers because apple doesn't support any apps that they don't make

You can't download music via Safari on the iPad - you will need to download it on your computer, add it to your computer's iTunes, and then sync it to the iPad.

I am connected to Internet with through a power line adapter. All of my other Internet based applications are working fine through this connection so I don't think the power line connection has any bearing on this failure to download and update.

AppleTV does not need a power lead when connected to the computer (AppleTV 3 will for part of the process).

After upgrading to Lion, I am unable to read burned DVDs. Any idea what is wrong?

While I was using Snow Leopard, everything was working fine; but after upgrading to Lion, my Mac Mini (2010) is unable to read any disks that have been burned. All store purchased disks work fine, but nothing I have tried has worked for the burned ones. Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong?

Well, I did notice a few things about the disk I used that were on that list. I'm going to try burning a new copy on a new disk that has few to no scratches, not mark on it, and keep it off max speed. I'll get back to you when it's done. That may take a while seeing as it's an ISO that I'm burning and it took a good 15 minutes at max speed.

The iPad doesn't do Java. (Why'd your bank choose Java of all things for their internet banking?!)
If, on the other hand, you mean JavaScript - which is entirely different from Java - that isn't something that needs to be downloaded. Your iPad should be just fine with JavaScript out of the box, though obviously some things won't work (like anything dependent on mouseover events).
