Unable to re establish Time Machine connection with Machine A
Hello,
Time Machine was working on machine A. I was able to go into time machine, look at the files in my backup and restore a file if I needed to.
My machine A was out of service due to a power supply and I used a Machine B to access my time machine files. Machine B had 2 userid's. Both users were ADMINISTRATORS. The 2nd user ID was able to SEE the files, I was NOT ABLE to RESTORE. (insufficient privileges). The 1st user ID. I was able to restore and discovered this by accident. I restored what I need to and was able to work off a laptop until Apple fixed my machine A (it took 7 days)
Problem:
When I got my workstation back I plugged in the hard drive that contains my backup and figured...I am off and away just as before.
1. I was not able to get TIME MACHINE started. ( I cannot recall the series of steps)
2. Now when I select time machine the menus offers me...
BROWSE OTHER TIME MACHINE DISKS
OPEN TIME MACHINE PREFERENCES.
When I select browse the 1st item, I am not even able to see the backup that was there.
When I select the Open Time machine preferences, I cannot figure out how to re - attach the time machine backup that I used to have connected to this workstation.

I tried a sudo cmd from the terminal application and wound up with the same error.
Prior to runnin this cmd, I managed to borrow an external hard drive and backed up all of the data I needed in case the sudo cmd did something to prevent me from seeing data on my hard drive.
Sudo cmd did not work. Time Machine was giving me the same access errors.
Since by now I had made a back up of my data to another hard drive,
I reformatted my original external hard drive.
I went back to time machine and selected the external drive I just reformatted
I received the same error again, but about 30 seconds later, Time Machine responded with ....the drive has been selected for back up and about 90 seconds later, Time Machine initiated and is starting a backup in the background.
To summarize
Prior to doing the sudo command (I am a little cautious about doing things I have no idea what the end result will be....)
I backed up the external drive A to external hard drive B
used Deja Vu to perform an entire system back up of my workstation as well as another one of everything in my USERID
I tried the sudo command...when it failed
Reformatted external drive A
Time Machine is now working again

I would recommend to anyone reading this to always back up as the safest course of action

Can't establish a sftp connection with the finder
Hi, I'm trying to establish a sftp connection with the finder (using the "Connect to server" feature) between my (recently purchased) Mac Mini (mid 2011: i5, 2.3 GHz, 2 GB, running 10.7.3) and a Debian Testing box and I can't, I get the following error:
'There was a problem connecting to the server "ip.address"
This file server will not allow any additional users to log on. Try to connect again later.'
However if I try establishing a connection from the terminal (either ssh or sftp) it works flawlessly:

I've searched for a fix or alternative on the internet and I haven't found one that works; The one that keeps coming up is to try: "ftps" as the protocol instead of "sftp" with the remaining information the same (it doesn't work, it gets the same error message afterwards).
The IP address and login information works (corroborated by the fact that I can log in from the terminal from the Mac Mini) so the only issue is with the finder capabilities for establishing the connection. I have looked for apple related documentation or How Tos but I haven't found anything useful.
I don't want to use any third party app or tweak because of the sensitive information that is going to be transfered, I would like to be using strictly the tools from the OS.
If you need any more information please let me know, any help is deeply appreciated.I have the same issue although i kind of fixed it. I have two admin accounts and one of the account's safari did the same thing as yours, except, it was the startpage and everypage i tried to visit. I reseted safari, as in the erase all data safari in the toolbar, safari-Reset Safari... But safari still didn't work. I logged out and went to my other account and opened safari. Now it works fine on both accounts. This meant safari had to logout before actually working better. I have this a few times these days.

I am getting error while enabling the WCF-Custom receive location:
MSDTC encountered an error (HR=0x80000171) while attempting to establish a secure connection with system
I found solution over internet for regarding the above issue which was suggested that NETWORK SERVICE is not having required permission. Used subinacl with the following command (on Command prompt with elevated mode)
subinacl /service msdtc /grant="Network Service"=QSETIL
But the same resulted in error: Last Failed: msdtc - OpenService Error : 5 Access is denied.

Regards LeonI don't know for sure, but perhaps the password encryption method uses something from the server to generate a key/seed for the encryption?
Try and manually reset the credentials to see if it helps
1. Edit the j2ee/home/config/system-jazn-data.xml file.
2. Find the oc4jadmin user entry and modify the credentials tag to look like the following

How to establish a trusted connection with JDBC for SQL SERVER 2000
Hi!I am using jdk 1.4 and eclipse 3.3.
I create a servlet in eclipse with in-build tomcat.
When I run it ,it was working perfectlly has it was suppose to work.
In this servlet I connect to a sql 2000 database using jdbc-odbc bridge driver.
But when I tried to deploy the servlet on tomcat 5.5 manully on the same machine ,it gave me error saying
[Microsoft][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed
for user 'sa'
I searched around some post and found that ok ,I need trusted connection
But I have 2 Questions
1). Why was in eclipse I was able to connect to the SQL server and why not in the servlet which I deployed manully on tomcat.
2). How do I create a trusted connection with JDBC for SQL server 2000

Unable to figure out how to connect with another S...
First off, my Skype number keeps saying invalid. I have credit. Second, my profile reads my flour number is not active. I had this one originally #########. Yesterday I attempted to change it or add a new one #######. I was never given any type of confirmation as to whether my Skype number changed to the latter number 732... Or not. I can use either one it's just when the original wasn't working I thought I should try to change. I NEED TO CONNECT WITH SOMEONE IN THE UK who is also having difficulty on his end. His number he created to speak with me here is #######. His Skype name is xxxxx8 I am pending request to link to him. But why are my numbers telling me they're invalid? MUST I HAVE WIFI TO CONNECT? Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing. -

In the bottom left hand corner of my monitor I notice that the site is continually trying to connect, verify, read profile, transfer assets, connect, verify...it is like a continuous loop. Is there a setting I need to adjust to allow access?

Time Machine by default does not run when no user is logged in, there's some way to let backups run without any user logged on the mac?
I need to backup 3 iMac connected through ethernet network to a Time Capsule.
Some hint?If you use eithernet for your main connection then just plug the TC bridged into the network.
If you use wireless for your internet connection then you can use the TC isolated from the network by ethernet.. but this is really only convenient on a desktop Mac.

Just to say a USB for firewire external drive is faster and more reliable than a TC.. cheaper to buy as well.. although since you already have the TC that is not a concern.. but you can ebay the TC and buy a bigger and better external drive with the proceeds. -
Am i on the right track for establishing my client connection with BC4J?
I am developing web-application with BC4J JSP project now. However, I find the auto-generated page not that useful as they are not flexible enough. Then, I decided to write coding by myself. But the first problem is - how to write the coding for client connection? To make maintenance easy, I would like to place those connection code in a class file instead of hard-coding each connection details in my JSP or Servlet page.
Question 1: Through the examples I search in my JDeveloper (Candidate 2) directory, found a file TestClient.java in the \BC4J\samples\Caching\src\demo directory with the following codes:

Exchange 2013 mailbox takes a long time to connect with Outlook 2010
We just installed a 2013 CAS/Mailbox server in our Exchange 2007 environment and are running in coexistence while we migrate users over. So far I have only moved one 2007 mailbox over, a new account used for testing. Everything is working fine, OWA,
ECP, ActiveSync, etc... When connecting Outlook to a 2007 mailbox autodiscover takes a couple seconds and Outlook opens fine. The problem is when connecting Outlook to a mailbox on the 2013 server. Autodiscover takes about a minute before it finally finds
the settings and the mailbox takes about 30 seconds to open everytime. It generally times out, I click retry and the mailbox opens. Once in everything is good but the initial loading always takes a long time, double the time when opening Outlook with a shared
mailbox attached. All autodiscover is autodiscover.domain.com, Exchange 2007 is all legacymail.domain.com aside from the components that need to point to 2013. We do not have any certificate issues, well that's not true, at some time in the last couple years
someone applied a 3rd party cert to our domain.com root but not sure if that would cause this issue. Also, these are internal clients we are trying to get going with the 2013 mailbox, not external. I just applied a registry change that helped someone else
out there by disabling IPv6 for all components but that did not work for us MS KB929852. Any suggestions? Right now I am thinking of changing the internalURI for autodiscover to the FQDN of the server but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas.

The autoconfiguration tests passed, I will paste the xml below. Ping times were all under 1ms. When I entered the IP for the 2013 serve I received errors that the connection to Exchange is unavailable followed by another one that the name cannot be resolved.
I did this test by removing the Outlook profile and creating one manually without Autodiscover. I am able to ping the server by all names from the command prompt.
Our autodiscover.domain.com points to our 2013 server and the name is resolvable both internally and externally. Our certificates cover the internal server name fqdn as well as external names. I am doing all testing in the internal network.

Time capsule connectivity with windows 7
Hi,
I am facing problem to connect it to my Toshiba windows 7 64bit laptop. I installed the latest version of Airport and configured the wireless network that is working perfectly fine.
The main issue is window explorer doesn't show the time capsule all the time, if its not shown then i got to restart the computer and it comes up, some time it detects automatically in the explorer and some time doesn't. I am not able to figure out whats the exact problem.
If someone can help me out please.

-- Windows 7 must make a good Wi-Fi connection to the AirPort section of the Time Capsule.
-- Windows 7 driver must mount the drive.
Check your connection to be sure you have a Wi-Fi connection to AirPort. If not, delete any Wi-Fi connection and create a new one.
If the connection is working well to AirPort, see if the drive appears in Computer Management like this:
Right-click Start, choose, "Properties", choose the Start Menu tab, click the "Customize" button, under "System Administrative Tools", click the radio button for "Display on the All Programs menu". Then go to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Computer Management. The Time Capsule should be one of the drive volume. In the column for "File System", it should show "HFS". In the column for "Status", it should show "Healthy". If not, troubleshoot the Windows 7 HFS driver or use Disk Utility in OS X to repair Time Machine. -
ANNOYING - MTP Device driver kicks off every time I connect with USB - MAKE IT STOP!!!
I have a Droid Pro that recently went through the software upgrade. Prior to the upgrade, I could connect my phone to USB for charging purposes only. It was never a problem. AFTER the software upgrade however, every time I do so now, it starts a repeating attempt to load a "MTP Device" driver. It'll load successfully sometimes, other times unsuccessfully, but even when it loads successfully, it'll load again a few minutes later. It slows down my laptop when it does that. How can I fix this so it doesn't try to load this driver?
Thanks.Hello Droidberry, welcome to the forums! I understand that having this popup everytime you connect your computer can be annoying. I want to check a few things first. When you connect your phone to your computer, do you see a Motorola symbol popup in the lower righthand corner of the computer? If so, click this icon to see if you have an option to Do Nothing.
If this icon is not showing or that doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to open your Device Manager, select the Droid Pro XT610 driver and change this to a USB mass storage device.
Here are some more steps for determining if there is a conflict with the Droid Pro in your Device Manager. -
Time Capsule Connectivity with Cable TV
My Time Capsule worked fine until I switched from satellite TV to cable TV.
I managed to connect to the internet but why I can't use my iPad, Apple TV,
our HP PC, or any lat top?It is impossible to answer without more info.
What mode is the TC in and how is it connected to the TV at all? ie I do not understand what cable TV or satellite TV has to do with internet connection. Is any of these based on wifi signal.. if so, then you have signal issues?? Plug the Apple TV in by ethernet .. does that fix it?
What kind of internet do you have?
What IP does the device that does connect to the internet get?
