I just updated to iOS 7 and now my iMessages won't work. It just keeps saying activating iMessage but it's not doing anything; I tried signing in with my Apple ID but then it just lets me send them using my email address and the number the phone was originally set to; even though that is not my actual number that I use as I changed it through Vodafone so the SIM card now has a different number.
It won't even let me click on my number to select it; it is just that faded grey colour and there are no ticks by it;
And when it says "may be a standard SMS charge to activate" I'm not even getting a text through to be able to activate it anyway

I have duplicates of a song on an album. One of the duplicates is grey with no album cover. When you attempt to swite and delete, the track will not delete and will not even play. I've contacted iTunes store and the person I received the support email from told me that it may not be downloaded. I emailed him back and explained that no there is no download for that song in my itunes store on my phone.
One I never received an answer back which shows you how well these people do their job.
Two: I really would prefer to have a solution to this problem without having to delete all of my music from my phone or resetting my phone. Because this duplicate isn't even showing up in my iTunes, it's only showing up on my phone.
When I attempt to find it in my itunes it plays fine. But when I try to find the file to delete it, it is no where to be found. I've tried everything that I could think of to get rid of it. And I don't want to leave the album/artist off my phone because I do enjoy their music... And I have the microsoft sync in my car.
Anyone got any ideas on how to do this without resetting the phone and/or taking my music off?If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go -

You can change your printer's email address from the main page of the ePrint Center site with these steps:
1. Log into the ePrint Center page if you haven't already done so.
2. Click your Printer's tab, and then click "Change" next to your product's e-mail address.
3. Type an e-mail address in the dialog box. The e-mail address can be 6 to 30 characters, and can be a combination of letters, numbers, an underscore, and up to two dots.
4. Click "Check". The ePrintCenter system checks if the e-mail address is available.
5. If the address is available, click "Save".

I have done exactly what you said. When I check "update", a screen drops down that asks that I enter my email address to continue........but i cannot find any way to do this.
In the past, all I would do is check "update", and the update would take place. Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, this has changed, and i do not know how to do this simple thing.......the app store shows an update is due to be updated, but i cannot find out how to do it. -
hi guys, problem with grey screen and flashing question mark. should be straight forward affair but on top of it while in disc utility, i'm unable to verify, verify disc permission, repair or even erase disc0 which is obviously my main hd. any ideas where to go from here? tried to reinstall osx but no luck, stucked when asked to chose location to install osx. would really apreciate any kind of help with this cause i'm quite new mac user. ty

There is a major flaw in the design and use of AppleIDs and their use across the entire Apple product line. It could be fixed easily if I could "unverify" an email address that I used for a certain appleID. After over an hour talking with phone tech support they had no clue what to do so I proposed a temporary solution and gave up.
The problem is I had an apple id that I used for iTunes, and I had my main email address which was from MobileMe which got switched over to iCloud. My iTunes appleID is of the form that is just a word and not an email address. Because of this I was unable to use it for iCloud. The email address associated with the iTunes account appleID was my main email address which happened to be my MobileMe email address. Apparently once an email address has been verified with an account there is no way to unverify that email address. I already realized that I would have to have 2 appleIDs , one for iTunes and one for mobile me and I was ok with that. The problem was that the MobileMe email address would not let me set it as my email address because it had already been verified with my iTunes appleID. This left my MobileMe/icloud email address even though it IS an email address in and of itself, without an associated email address. I am unable to associate the email address that I want with that appleID. My solution was to create yet another email account and just use that but now that is causing problems with apps like "iMessage" , "Find my Friends" , and "FaceTime." I want my correct email address (MobileMe/icloud address) to be used to identify me me with my friends and relatives act. not the email address that I was forced to create as a temporary solution. If there was just a way to "Unverify" an email address or merge accounts this would not be a major issue. As it stands though this is a very confusing and incredibly annoying problem that Phone TechSupport had no clue whatsoever as to what could be done. Does anyone know a fix or if there is some way to Unverify an email address that you used (the lady on techsupport said they couldn't).I've also had this issue and it beggars belief that they could have something so stupid as a policy.
I have no less than 8 Apple devices that I use actively not to mention the family who have more.
I have an Itunes account and have bought a load of music and movies etc.
I also (foolishly) took a MobileMe subscription and hardly used it.
Now, when I try to register for Facetime I can't register the one and only email address that I use.
Apple support says even though they have been using that for purchases on Itunes, App Store, MobileMe, etc etc, I cannot use it for Facetime! And Facetime requires the address so people who know me and know my one and only email address can call me on Facetime.
No, instead, I must use another new email address!!
How totally stupid.
Support are really unhelpful on this issue as well. They keep talking about multiple accounts and the address being used on these accounts. These accounts are Itunes, MobileMe. And who do they belong to?? One person, ME!!!

Ah, NO! You have not addressed my concerns.
It is almost like they don't want any existing clients on Itunes and MobileMe to use Facebook.

How do I get my messages to come through on my ipad Via my mobile number? They always used to but I've had to change all my Apple ID if that has anything to do with it? In iMessages it will only take an email address!

When I try to use the internal hard drive as a scratch disk I get this error "unable to set scratch disk- the selected directory is on write protect or non-writable media. Any ideas on how to fix this. It only happens in fcp.
By internal, I assume you're referring to your systems (boot) drive. Is it, by chance, a partitioned dive?
Also…although many people successfully use their systems drives as scratch disks, over time you'll have better results using a dedicated drive for your media.

There aren’t any. AirDrop between the platforms requires that the Mac support Bluetooth 4.0, which wasn’t introduced to them until the 2012 models.

I updated my iPhone 4S weeks ago and today it said I needed to update it again, so I did. Now when I send iMessage it comes up with my email address and not my number. How do I fix this?
The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 or 10.8 is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.
