Unable to Reactivate Photoshop CS5

Hello,
I upgraded my system hard drive to an SSD.  Before imaging my C: drive I decided to deactivate Photoshop just in case something terrible happened.  After restoring the system image to my new SSD, the computer booted Windows7 and all seemed well.
My problem is that when I try to run Photoshop it immediately closes.  It does not give me the opportunity to reactivate.  Do I have to reinstall CS5?
Thanks for any help.

I did exactly the operation you're describing back in April and did not run into a problem, so there's nothing inherently wrong conceptually with what you've done.
Possibilities that come to mind:
An error during the imaging or restoral process left one or more files corrupted.
You've changed your system configuration since the restoral to accommodate the SSD, and this made Photoshop stop working.
By the way, remember to run the Windows WEI system assessment, so Windows itself becomes aware that you have an SSD now, or it might try to defrag it.

  • Unable to Install Photoshop CS5 on Windows 8

I'm unable to install Photoshop CS5 on Windows 8.  A copy of the installation log is listed below.  The first time I tried installing, I had Norton 360 enabled, right-clicked the DVD-ROM drive and selected to execute the installer.  It failed at about 5%.  Then, I uninstalled Photoshop CS5 and uninstalled Adobe AIR, disabled Norton 360, ran the Creative Suite Cleanup Tool, and then rebooted back into Safe Mode.  This time, I browsed the DVD-ROM drive, right-clicked on the set-up.exe file and selected Run As Administrator.  Same thing as before.  It failed at 5%.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks.

  • Unable to Install Photoshop CS5

I am attempting to install Adobe Photoshop CS5 (apart of the Adobe CS5 Web Premium edition) on my Mac. After downloading "CS5 Web Premium" from http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-product-downloads.html, I was able to successfully install Illustrator, but every time I install Photoshop, everything but the application itself installs. I have reinstalled the installer 3 times, and am still unable to get Photoshop CS5 installed.

I am currently running on Mac OS X 10.9.5. Like I said in the original post, the software installs, so there is no error messages, but it does not install the Photoshop application itself.
I have pasted the install log for Adobe CS5 Web Premium here: http://pastebin.com/eWJaZnt3
    Thanks!

  • Unable to Launch Photoshop CS5 (64-bit), Related to Adobe Application Manager

i am at my wits end. any help provided will be greatly appreciated.
i installed photoshop cs5 (i run windows 7 64-bit) normally after uninstalling my cs4 normally (no clean installation or whatnot) and this time i chose to exclude the 32 bit version since i wouldn't require it.
upon installation i try to launch the programme and it says that the Adobe Application Manager is required to start it, so i do a quick google and i download the Application Manager. now here's the problem.
when i try to launch the installation for the app manager all i get is a loading bar with installation initializing. this bar goes to completion but after that it just shuts on me and nothing else happens.
    i have tried:
    1) restarting (obviously)
    2) extracting the installer to a different location
    3) trying to run the clean installation procedure, but this results in further problems:
the clean install package came with instructions to install a installer cleanup utility provided by windows which is no longer being provided because of certain risks. having found that program somewhere else on the internet anyway i start it up and it gives me an error saying it can't find msizap.exe and fails to install anyway. i hence end up not having used the cleanup system at all.
solutions to either problem, the former especially will be greatly appreciated.
    thanks in advance.
edit: reinstalling both 32 and 64 bit editions together results in 32 bit working and 64 bit still requiring the application manager. for the life of me i don't see why one requires it and the other doesn't.

I understand that you did not choose to put Photoshop 32 bit in C:, it just went there on its own.

Adobe software is known to work better when installed on C:.  I think you may be experiencing that first-hand here.
Why have you partitioned your system this way?  I'm curious, what do you believe you have optimized by doing this?  In my experience, partitioning your system as you have done will net you more problems than performance.  Even outside of applications you install, Windows itself will continue to expand over time (search for winsxs, for example, and of course there are Windows Updates and Service Packs).
I could see perhaps using a single super-fast limited C: physical drive, with programs and other files on another physical drive with a separate controller, improving performance - but I don't believe there's any way a drive that's been partitioned as you have described is going to help performance.  And you should know that Microsoft has done many things (e.g., SuperFetch) to optimize performance when set up in a more typical fashion (on one big C: partition).

  • Unable to open Photoshop CS5.1

Hi.  I have a Mac running OS X version10.7.5.  I have Photoshop Elements 8 and 9 installed. They work fine.  I also have Photoshop CS5.1 installed.  It worked fine until today.  It will not open.  I tried re-installing from the disk, but I cannot insert the serial number – the first block having 5 letters and a digit.  I sure would appreciate any help you can provide.  Thanks.

You may be able to discover your serial number by entering the product code and your e-mail address at https://www.identit-e.com/default/index/selfHelp/p/14.  Alternately if your software is registered you can follow the directions in http://forums.adobe.com/message/3987968#3987968?promoid=KBHJW to locate you serial number on http://www.adobe.com/.

  • UNABLE TO LOCATE Photoshop CS5 Activation

    - I am installed Registered version of Photoshop CS5. I misplaced the CD which was used to install.  Now , I have currently upgraded my Laptop and need to install my existing registered version from Old laptop to new Laptop.

If you installed CS5 on a machine and it is a working legal copy.  During the install you needed to sign into Adobe.com to activate the Photoshop install.  That was done via an Adobe Activation server that writes activation credentials onto your machine and records you product into Adobe database wich logs your serial number and machine   When you sign in  to adobe.com and use the link I supplied you should see your CS5 product and be able to click on CS5 to retrieve your serial number.   You should also be able do download CS5 installer using the link I provided and when you install it you should be able to sign into Adobe.com and use the retrieved serial number to activate your second machine.

  • I am unable to update Photoshop CS5 on my Mac

When trying to run the CS5 update I get the following message:
"AdobePatchinstaller" can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.
    Can anyone help?

Thanks again.  Opened Security & Privacy and found a note which allowed me to download anyway.  Tried that which opened up the installer and then got a message which was "Update Failed - update could not be applied - The patch is not applicable for you.  Please check for updates in your product menu".  Which takes me back to where I started from.  However, with some changes to my Firewall Settings and going through the CS5 update menu I think it is finally working.  So in a roundabout way you have been most helpful.
