Unable to Read and/or write "*"

The above is part of the error msg I get when trying to burn Disc #3 (after song #2) of my new box set of Richard Thompson tunes. So to be clear, it copied in the first two songs, started on the third, then stopped and displayed the error msg. I've tried burning each of the songs on this disc individually, and that won't work either. However, when I just play the songs, they play just fine. So I:
Tried going to my music folder, clicked on the folder the music was going into and checked permissions. Everything was fine, but I went ahead and did it all again anyway. Still get the error msg.
So I have opened Disc #3 in a folder on my desk and am now copying them into my hard drive (then I'll copy them into iTunes). It will seemingly take most of the rest of my life or 74 hours, whichever comes first! I have no idea if this will work, but it's about the only option that's occurring to me at the moment. I slipped another of my new discs in a few minutes ago, and it copied in just fine.
Thanks for any ideas, thoughts.

If you have a Mac as your profile indicates, you'll probably have better luck getting a quick and applicable answer if you ask in the iTunes for Mac forums. This is the iTunes for Windows forum and so not the best place to ask a Mac-related question.

When the player is docked and I am using the Zen Media Explorer, I go to "create playlists"
The player loads, I can see all of my files and most of my music on the creative playlist wizard. I clicked on one file (containing most of my music) and this message pops up. "Unable to read from or write to your player"

Create a folder on your hard drive called called "iPod Photos" or something similar and drag the photos you want on your iPod to it. Under the photo preferences for the iPod, point iTunes to "synchronize photos from" and choose to update from your new folder.

• Desktop Manager Folders getting unchecked and Unable to Read and Modify Filters with DM...

Like most people I have sub folders within Outlook to keep clients and employees separated. I just upgraded to the 8330 from a Dino 7100i. I set up my folders under Email Settings, General, Choose Folders so that I can send email to the device that is important.
The problem is I stop getting email from employees randomly and when I go check the Desktop Manager (DM) the boxes are unchecked. I've never had this problem with the Old BB. The folder structure is only a few deep, meaning: Inbox\Employee\Employee folders that are checked or not checked.

I am also having an issue viewing and editing my Filters. They are all jammed together. I have uninstalled the DM completely including all registry entries, recreated my profile in Outlook and reinstalled. This has done nothing to fix the issue. I am using DM v4.7, BB 8130 Pearl, Sprint Firmware 4.3.0.203, Outlook 2007 on a Vista Enterprise 32 bit machine. Anyone have a fix for this issue?

I have a datalog file containing port and DMM setup information. I want to read this file into an aray, update or modify it, and write it to a file. I can read the file in, but I am at a loss on how to modify it since it is stored in an indicator. Any suggestions?

The simplest thing is to replace your indicator by a control, and to use a local variable to write your data into the control.

• Unable to Read from or Write to Disk

What exactly does that mean? And why is it all of the sudden I cannot add podcasts or tv shows to my Ipod? It just started.
I am technologically challenged, please give easy directions.
Gateway Windows XP

From reading these boards, I am not the only one having this problem. The referred to article did not apply to my problem. My computer was up-to-date, I had added no software, I hadn't added any new hardware, the cables were the same and functioning.
This is what I did. I plugged in my I-pod with "My Computer" screen open, when the icon appeared showing the removable disk was being read (contrary to I-tunes assertions that my I-pod wasn't viable)I clicked on that to see the stats on my I-pod. But, almost immediately, I-pod began downloading all of the new items I needed, pocasts and songs purchased.
I have one more I-pod to fix, I am hopeful this will work again.

• What is the difference between wiring a datasocket reference or a datasocket URL into Datasocket Read and Write VIs?

Which is better? To wire a URL or a reference into Datasocket read/write?
Does wiring in the reference save processor effort/time? Do I have to close the DS reference before I can do other things to either the same DS connection or other connections? The examples I have looked at tend to use URL's, why is this?
(I am running Labview 7.0 on Windows 2000)

I'd like to bring this thread back up because I'm having the same issue as Michael here.....
I'm stumped on a the functionality of the Read/Write mode for the Datasockets Open VI.
I've attached a picture below showing the 2 different methods of
opening Datasocket references....In one case, I use the Read/Write mode
for DS open, in the other case, I use 2 DS opens: One for READ and
another for WRITE. For some reason, only the latter program works
properly (when I open READ and WRITE separately). Why is this?
I
thought that if the READ/WRITE MODE was used, the output reference can
be used with the Datasocket READ and Datasocket WRITE Vi's as shown in
Top Vi of picture. Instead, It seems I'm unable to "change" the state
of the Datasocket tag using the the Top Vi.
FYI: I'm using
DS server manager to create the item. I've also gave proper privileges
to each computer so that they can communicate with the DS server. It
obviously works since using the bottom VI, I get the desired results.
What am i doing wrong? Are my expectations for the Rea/dWrite functionality correct?

I need to read/write a file from/to the operating system through PLSQL Package. I used UTL_FILE package to do the same. In the application server the utl_file_dir(/usr/tmp in my system) is created as a softlink to database server.

If you're getting disposition == null it's because your IMAP server
isn't returning this information to you. Possibly your IMAP server
is buggy. You can look at the protocol trace to see what the IMAP
server is returning, and if it's missing information that should be there,
report a bug to your IMAP server vendor.
Your program might need to work around this problem by deciding
that any body part with a filename is an attachment, or any part
after the first is an attachment.

• I want to read and use some informations from a excel file

To test a graphic, i need to take a lot of numbers in a excel file...
but i dont know how to open and read this file but i dont know how...
thx for your help...

Hello,
You can open, read, and even write excel files (if you write a file with extension .xls, windows will interpret it as an excel file be default) using the File I/O VIs in LabVIEW. To extract the data, all you really need to realize is that spreadsheets programs like excel store data with the following basic rules:
1. the entire spreadsheet is really just a large string - to read them, you just have to know the data you read is stored based on rules 2 and 3; to write them you just have to conform to rules 2 and 3.
2. cells in a given row are delimited by tabs (usually by default) and sometimes commas (but usually only if you set this specifically in the spreadsheet program)
3. rows are delimited by end of line characters, which will usually be one carriage return and one linefeed character in that order on windows.
In fact, for writing spreadsheet strings (which can be opened in excel) from LabVIEW, check out the Array to Spreadsheet String and Spreadsheet String to Array functions in the String Palette. That is, if you imagine the excel spreadsheet as a 2D array, those functions will essentially convert between the large string, and a 2D array in LabVIEW containing the values you would see in excel's corresponding cells.
I have attached a program that will use the array to spreadsheet string function to write an excel file containing those values - it will be named test.xls and should be on your C: drive directly. A good exercise to get started would be to write a VI using similar (some inverse) functions to read that string, and convert it back to an array.
I hope this helps!

• Unable to read from FP modules

Hey everyone,
I apologize if this is kind of a broad question, but I'm relatively new to LabVIEW, and especially to FieldPoint, and I was wondering what the most likely causes of read failure are. I was brought in to my current position to finish a project abandoned by a professional developer (who has terrible commenting skills by the way), and due to my inability to decipher some of his code, I decided to start fresh. Yesterday, I was perfectly able to write to the solenoids I needed to, and to read from the proximity switches and pressure meters I needed to. Today, I could do neither, although the original code still operated with proper read/writes.
So what seems like the problem? I'm using FP I/O Points that are directly tied to the hardware in an initialization vi, and I bundle them into usable clusters and pass them between vis. Reads and writes are performed with FP Read and FP Write.
Thanks in advance,
- Jeff

Oh, sorry about the lack of detail. I'm using the LV 8.2 Full Development System, and the .iak is included in the project, so it should automatically associate the programmed FP I/O Points with the proper hardware, shouldn't it? The I/O Points are just dumped into named clusters, if that's what you mean by aliases.
Also, the modules are never powered down that I know of. The modules we're using are as follows:
cFP-180X
FP-DO-403
FP-DO-401
FP-AI-111
FP-DI-304
FP-DI-304
FP-TC-120
I don't know if that makes a difference, but that's the setup.

Sure you can read and write at the same time. But normally you would be reading from one place and writing to another place.
I rather regret avoiding the OP's earlier post asking how to combine two classes. I looked at the two classes posted and realized the best thing to do was actually to break them into more classes. But I also realized it was going to be a big job explaining why and how, and I just don't have the patience for that sort of thing.
So now we have a Big Ball Of Tar™ and I feel partly responsible.
