Unable to read sequence number

I get that error message in the inventory log. I have Netware 6 patch
level 5, and ZFD 4.01b. Has anyone seen this, and know how to fix it?
Thank you in advance.

Thank you, but it is not the first scan of the workstation that it is doing
it on.
I will look into the ir5 patch and see what that does for me. Thank you
again.

  • Smsy "Read System Number" customer number unknown for installation

    Hi gurus,
    I 'm configuring SMSY and following the steps outlined in the IMG in the basic settings and trying to configure RFC connections to/from satellite systems. In SMSY, I have 2 systems configured SMA and BIF.
    tcode SMSY-> Systems -> SAP ERP -> SMA , Tab "System Data in SAP Support Portal".
    Click "Read System Number" returns error SAP customer number unknown for installation number 0020179718. <-Why?
    Click "Installation Data" shows data from SMP with correct installation number and correct customer number 706822.
          The S-user listed under "Contact Persons" is not mine, not the correct one. <- Why? How to fix?
          The system number from SMP matches value in System Number field.
    Click "System Data" shows data from SMP also shows correct data.
    Why unable to "Read System Number" when the correct system number is read via "Installation Data" and "System Data"?
    tcode SMSY->Systems->SAP ECC->BIF, Tab "System Data in SAP Support Portal".
    Click "Read System Number" returns error "SAP customer number unknown for installation number 0020472810". <- Why?
    Click "Installation Data" shows data from SMP with correct installation number and correct customer number 706822.
          The S-user listed under "Contact Persons" is correct one.
          The system number from SMP matches value in System Number field.
    Click "System Data" shows data from SMP also shows correct data.
    Why unable to read system number?
    When I login to SMP with same S-user, under System Data Maintenance, the same data is displayed as in "Installation Data" and "System Data" links.

    I don't know what happened. I came into work today and tested the "Read System Number" and it worked. I read thru the 2 notes you mentioned, just read now. The first notes I had already followed before opening this thread. The 2nd notes also talked about turning off BAdI implementation AI_SDK_SP_RFC_RP, of which I did a couple of days ago before opening this thread. I had turned turned off BAdI and simplified the AISUSER table and removed the customer number field, in order to get back to the "single-user number" basic setup in the IMG.
    I had found the problem with the wrong contact info on the SMA system. It was wrong in the SMP system maintenance under installation data.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Scanner(Warning) : 027: Unable to read the sequence number from the Workstation object.

    Hi
    We are having trouble storing inventory scans from some workstations.
    We have a windows ONLY environment, with middle tier servers. (ZEN65SP1,
    W2KSP4).
    Some workstations are storing fine. The Storer function is working and we
    can see the storer functions for the 'good' workstations in the Inventory
    service window.
    However some workstations can't store to the inventory db, but DO populate
    eDir ZENworks inventory 'minimal information' but show "Scanner(Warning) :
    027: Unable to read the sequence number from the Workstation object." in
    the Scan Status...
    The Inventory service window shows no attempt by these workstations - it's
    almost as though the scan file is not arriving (though eDir knows/displays
    the scan file name)
    How does the workstation access the scandir in Windows only/middle tier
    environment? Does the scan xml stream get sent to the MT via http and then
    on to the scandir via CIFS?
    Any suggestions/explanations welcome!!
    Many thanks
    David

  • 027: Unable to read the sequence number from the Workstation object

    Environment:
    NW 6.5 sp4
    Zen 6.5 sp1
    We had a problem with our inventory server processing .STR files a couple
    months ago - had to turn off inv. policies on workstations while we resolved
    it. Now it's resolved and we're running inventory again. We have a large
    number of workstations reporting this error:
    027: Unable to read the sequence number from the Workstation object
    They have no data in the DB, although they do have minimal scan info, and
    the last scan status date matches that of the sequence number error.
    I've seen this sporadically in the past and have been able to resolve it by
    initiating a full scan on the individual workstation. However, that does
    not seem to be making a difference this time.
    Novell's troubleshooting document basically says see if the server's
    running, and see if there's data for the workstation in the db. Then call
    tech support.
    Any other ideas?

    The machines I'm troubleshooting have valid formats for their STR names,
    but that doesn't necessarily mean they are valid STR sequence numbers.
    Does removing the value in the reg key cause the STR file name to be
    recreated?

    I've verified that none of our images contain the c:\zenworks history
    folder, and we run a script that cleans up any zenworks items before
    sysprep (i.e. makes sure there's no registration info on the
    workstations, etc). Our imaging scripts also clear any ZIS info to
    avoid any duplication as well, so I don't think imaging would be causing
    this.
    > I believe 6x also has a hist.ini file like 3x inventory does, you might

    Good tip about the hist.ini file, I didn't know about that. It does not
    solve the sequence number error, but it does seem to force a full scan
    of the system and cause the new scan to be stored in the DB, which was
    not happening before.
    Thanks!

  • Reading or changing sequence number in TCP packets

    I don't know wether this is feasible,But you're my last chance to figure out something else.Can i read the sequence number that comes inside the TCP header in the incomming packets?This sound illogical but since there is a method for getting the IP of the sender(And that IP exits in the IP header Network layer i),then the sequence number (TCP header inside the Transport layer)must exits in the packet.Can i read it?
    -And an even more illogical question? can i change that sequence number or the acknowlege number to form a new packet ? Its like converting a packet to and from a packet object to a string of bits ?
    I know excatly where the sequence and acknowledge numbers are located (after how many bits) inside the TCP header?

    i can order the server i'm connected to to send the data from a specific byte no sequentially.Use a protocol that already understands that. HTTP and FTP spring to mind.There are existing protocols for this which work and your phone is likely to support HTTP with XHTML basic already.

You cannot skip data this way. This is not what acknowledgements and sequence numbers are for.
    I also know that some protocols support requesting files from a specific byte(like HTTP) but i wanna do it inside the network layer not the application layerWhy?You prefer the blender, I see.

    If the page that you posted from doesn't help then you will need to try contacting iTunes support (you will need to give them as much of the serial number and activation code from the card as you can read) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes

    Hi All,
    I have developed a form to provide our client with 'an easy to fill' User Interface. This form will be used instead of the standard form present in Business Suite.

    Now the problem is, after deploying custom form developed by me in the instance, Standard form is showing this error
    " Error While Generating the Sequence Number. Please contact the System Administrator "
    I am unable to trace why this error had started appearing..
    Any suggestions would be of great help...
    Thanks in Advance,..

  • Table Sequence number

    Hi All,
    I have a scenario which goes like this:
    We have a common table(Table1) in our DB which maintains the sequence numbers(we are not using oracle supplied db sequence).
    For every transaction we are using the current sequence number from the table Table1 and put in Table2, while saving
    we increment that number by 1 in Table1 for next transactions use. For every transaction the sequence number should be unique.
    At any point of time a record with same sequence number should not be inserted in Table2.
    In Table2 this sequnce number is not a unique column.
    To achieve this, we are checking using view object whether current sequence num already exists in Table2 before saving.
    If exists we refresh with new number from Table1. In normal scenario this works fine.
    But if concurrent users are accessing, there are cases where same sequence number getting inserted in the Table2
    with a time difference of 2 seconds or so(very short span, hence programmatic check fails).
    We are unable handle this case using programmatic check of records in table.
    Cany any one suggest the best solution possible to tackle this scenario.
    Thanks,
    Sanjaykar

    sanjaykar,
    Unless you use locking on the "sequence number generator" table, you WILL at some time get duplicates when two people try to insert at nearly the same time. Sounds like you are going for the infamous "gap-free sequence." My honest and not sarcastic nor facetious suggestion would be to go with a sequence number and abandon your approach.
    However, if you insist, you can do this by locking the row in the sequence generator table. You can do this in Oracle by using the FOR UPDATE clause of the SELECT statement like this:
    select current_value
    from my_sequence_table
    where sequence_name = 'foobar'
    FOR UPDATEThat will lock the row. You can then increment the number, specify it as your key value, update the current_value in your sequence table and commit. If another user jumps in around the same time, the SELECT FOR UPDATE will block, as the row is already locked. However, I cannot stress enough that if you are looking for a high-performance application, one that lets more than one person work at the same time, this is a horrible idea. Just pop over to http://asktom.oracle.com and search for gap-free sequences to read plenty of long discussions why.
    Best,
    John

    Does anybody already faced this exception? We're currently facing this at one of our customers - some 80% of all client devices are failing to synchronize because of this exception. We have to delete tha databases on client device and reset the sync to make the client able to sync again. There wasn't any update to publication so I don't understand why is it occuring on so many devices at once. We're using OL 10.3.0.2.0 on WM5 PDAs.

  • HELP - Unable to read SCANDIR???

    All,
    Facts - Zenworks 3.2 SP1, Netware Client 4.9 SP2, Windows XP SP2
    I have been experiencing problems with certain workstations not populating
    the inventory database(s). I have received the following error and warning
    for these workstations in the scanlogs...
    "Message: 027: Unable to read the sequence number from the Workstation
    Object"
    "Message: 028: Unable to read the SCANDIR directory location from the
    Inventory Policy"
    The top organization has RCF rights as well as ROOT to the
    SYS:ZENWORKS\SCANDIR referenced in the inventory service objects. I checked
    all inventory service objects and they all point to the correct path. Also
    please keep in mind that I just reinstalled the ZENworks inventory databases
    on a different server volume.
    Can somebody please fill me in on the correct DS and file system trustee
    rights for ZENworks wsimport and inventory services to function properly?
    The reason I ask is because in order for me to get the workstation import
    component to work properly I needed to give PUBLIC [rwcemf] rights to the
    container holding the imported workstations. The installation program
    didn't give the necessary rights out of the box which is strange to me.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Illustrator won't run: "unable to set maximum number of files to be opened"

    I have an intel macbook pro (core duo with 2GB ram) and a copy of purchased adobe creative suite 2. Other applications in the suite like photoshop, acrobat, etc can run on my mac without any problem. But when I try to run illustrator, it just shows an error message "Unable to set maximum number of files to be opened" and quits. I also installed a trial version of illustrator cs3 and got the same problem. Can anyone help? Thanks.

  • How to pass the sequence number of current loop in a for loop in FPGA vi to the host

    PCI-7830R
    LV 8.2
    What I was trying to do is to use multiple DIO to generate pulse at different sequence. Mode one is to automatically sweep from DIO1 to DIO20; mode 2 is several DIOs generate pulse simoutaneously.  So I use a case structure to make the selection, in the mean time, I set up two for loop in each case so that I can use multiple pulse generations. For example, in scanning mode, if I set 2 exposures, it sweeps from 1 to 20 then do it again.
    Then I need to get the loop sequence number, i of each scenario. So I put an indicator within the first loop, and create a local variable of it and put in the second one.  Running the FPGA vi alone, I can see the indicator change in each case from 0 to N-1, N being the for loop time.But in the host vi, I tried to add this indicator as an element in the read/write invoke method, in the debugging mode, I could only see it directly jump to N-1 without all the changes I saw in FPGA vi.
    Is it possible to get this number passed correctly from FPGA vi to the host vi? Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Jared.
    Excuse me if it looks incorrect, but I'm new to FPGA programming, so I would have to look into the FIFO you referred to.  I used local variables because for one thing I have several different cases containing for loop in each of them, and I only want one indicator for the "i".  If I put the indicator out of any for loop, it's only gonna show the last number which is N-1.  For the other thing, it seems like property nodes are not allowed in FPGA vi.  And by doing this, I can see the i number changing from 0 to N-1 in each case, well, in FPGA vi's front panel.  But while I ran the host vi with everything, the indicator in host vi's front panel only showed the last number N-1. It may be the reason you said, it happened too fast before the indicator in host vi can catch it.
    What I want to realize is to group the data I collect in host vi, for example, when I choose multiple exposure in each mode, and the FPGA runs 1 through 20 then do it again, I want the data stored in two groups using the loop sequence number as the seperator in file name.  So it goes like 1-1, 2-1.......20-1; then 1-2, 2-2,.....20-2.

  • TcpListener not working on Azure: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

    Hi Everybody,
    i'm playing a little bit with Windows Azure and I'm blocked with a really simple issue (or maybe not).
    I've created a Cloud Service containing one simple Worker Role. I've configured an EndPoint in the WorkerRole configuration, which allows Input connections via tcp on port 10100.
    Here the ServiceDefinition.csdef file content:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ServiceDefinition name="EmacCloudService" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ServiceHosting/2008/10/ServiceDefinition" schemaVersion="2014-01.2.3">
    <WorkerRole name="TcpListenerWorkerRole" vmsize="Small">
    <Imports>
    <Import moduleName="Diagnostics" />
    <Import moduleName="RemoteAccess" />
    <Import moduleName="RemoteForwarder" />
    </Imports>
    <Endpoints>
    <InputEndpoint name="Endpoint1" protocol="tcp" port="10100" />
    </Endpoints>
    </WorkerRole>
    </ServiceDefinition>
    This WorkerRole is just creating a TcpListener object listening to the configured port (using the RoleEnvironment instance) and waits for an incoming connection. It receives a message and returns a hardcoded message (see code snippet below).
    namespace TcpListenerWorkerRole
    using System;
    using System.Net;
    using Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ServiceRuntime;
    using System.Net.Sockets;
    using System.Text;
    using Roche.Emac.Infrastructure;
    using System.IO;
    using System.Threading.Tasks;
    using Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Diagnostics;
    using System.Linq;
    public class WorkerRole : RoleEntryPoint
    public override void Run()
    // This is a sample worker implementation. Replace with your logic.
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("TcpListenerWorkerRole entry point called");
    TcpListener listener = null;
    try
    listener = new TcpListener(RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint);
    listener.ExclusiveAddressUse = false;
    listener.Start();
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info(string.Format("TcpListener started at '{0}:{1}'", RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint.Address, RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint1"].IPEndpoint.Port));
    catch (SocketException ex)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while creating the TcpListener", ex);
    return;
    while (true)
    Task.Run(async () =>
    TcpClient client = await listener.AcceptTcpClientAsync();
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info(string.Format("Client connected. Address='{0}'", client.Client.RemoteEndPoint.ToString()));
    NetworkStream networkStream = client.GetStream();
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(networkStream);
    StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(networkStream);
    writer.AutoFlush = true;
    string input = string.Empty;
    while (true)
    try
    char[] receivedChars = new char[client.ReceiveBufferSize];
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("Buffer size: " + client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    int readedChars = reader.Read(receivedChars, 0, client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    char[] validChars = new char[readedChars];
    Array.ConstrainedCopy(receivedChars, 0, validChars, 0, readedChars);
    input = new string(validChars);
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("This is what the host sent to you: " + input+". Readed chars=" + readedChars);
    try
    string orderResultFormat = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\xB")) + @"MSH|^~\&|Instrument|Laboratory|LIS|LIS Facility|20120427123212+0100||ORL^O34^ORL_O34| 11|P|2.5.1||||||UNICODE UTF-8|||LAB-28^IHE" + Environment.NewLine + "MSA|AA|10" + Environment.NewLine + @"PID|||patientId||""""||19700101|M" + Environment.NewLine + "SPM|1|sampleId&ROCHE||ORH^^HL70487|||||||P^^HL70369" + Environment.NewLine + "SAC|||sampleId" + Environment.NewLine + "ORC|OK|orderId|||SC||||20120427123212" + Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\x1c\x0d"));
    writer.Write(orderResultFormat);
    catch (Exception e)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while writting the response", e);
    client.Close();
    break;
    catch (Exception ex)
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while Reading the request", ex);
    client.Close();
    break;
    }).Wait();
    public override bool OnStart()
    // Set the maximum number of concurrent connections
    ServicePointManager.DefaultConnectionLimit = 12;
    DiagnosticMonitor.Start("Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Plugins.Diagnostics.ConnectionString");
    RoleEnvironment.Changing += RoleEnvironment_Changing;
    return base.OnStart();
    private void RoleEnvironment_Changing(object sender, RoleEnvironmentChangingEventArgs e)
    // If a configuration setting is changing
    LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("RoleEnvironment is changing....");
    if (e.Changes.Any(change => change is RoleEnvironmentConfigurationSettingChange))
    // Set e.Cancel to true to restart this role instance
    e.Cancel = true;
    As you can see, nothing special is being done. I've used the RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints to retrieve the current IPEndpoint.
    Running the Cloud Service in the Windows Azure Compute Emulator everything works fine, but when I deploy it in Azure, then I receive the following Exception:

    I've already tried to configure an internal port in the ServiceDefinition.csdef file, but I get the same exception there.
    As you can see, the client can connect to the service (the log shows the message: Client connected with the address) but when it tries to read the bytes from the stream, it throws the exception.
    For me it seems like Azure is preventing the retrieval of the message. I've tried to disable the Firewall in the VM in Azure and the same continues happening.
    I'm using Windows Azure SDK 2.3
    Any help will be very very welcome!

    hi Javier,
    I changed your code like this:
    private AutoResetEvent connectionWaitHandle = new AutoResetEvent(false);
    public override void Run()
    TcpListener listener = null;
    try
    listener = new TcpListener(
    RoleEnvironment.CurrentRoleInstance.InstanceEndpoints["Endpoint"].IPEndpoint);
    listener.ExclusiveAddressUse = false;
    listener.Start();
    catch (SocketException se)
    return;
    while (true)
    IAsyncResult result = listener.BeginAcceptTcpClient(HandleAsyncConnection, listener);
    connectionWaitHandle.WaitOne();
    The HandleAsync method is your "While (true)" code:
    private void HandleAsyncConnection(IAsyncResult result)
    TcpListener listener = (TcpListener)result.AsyncState;
    TcpClient client = listener.EndAcceptTcpClient(result);
    connectionWaitHandle.Set();
    NetworkStream netStream = client.GetStream();
    StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(netStream);
    StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(netStream);
    writer.AutoFlush = true;
    string input = string.Empty;
    try
    char[] receivedChars = new char[client.ReceiveBufferSize];
    // LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("Buffer size: " + client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    int readedChars = reader.Read(receivedChars, 0, client.ReceiveBufferSize);
    char[] validChars = new char[readedChars];
    Array.ConstrainedCopy(receivedChars, 0, validChars, 0, readedChars);
    input = new string(validChars);
    // LoggingProvider.Logger.Info("This is what the host sent to you: " + input + ". Readed chars=" + readedChars);
    try
    string orderResultFormat = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\xB")) + @"MSH|^~\&|Instrument|Laboratory|LIS|LIS Facility|20120427123212+0100||ORL^O34^ORL_O34| 11|P|2.5.1||||||UNICODE UTF-8|||LAB-28^IHE" + Environment.NewLine + "MSA|AA|10" + Environment.NewLine + @"PID|||patientId||""""||19700101|M" + Environment.NewLine + "SPM|1|sampleId&ROCHE||ORH^^HL70487|||||||P^^HL70369" + Environment.NewLine + "SAC|||sampleId" + Environment.NewLine + "ORC|OK|orderId|||SC||||20120427123212" + Encoding.ASCII.GetString(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes("\x1c\x0d"));
    writer.Write(orderResultFormat);
    catch (Exception e)
    // LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while writting the response", e);
    client.Close();
    catch (Exception ex)
    //LoggingProvider.Logger.Exception("Unexpected exception while Reading the request", ex);
    client.Close();
    Please try it. For this error message, I suggest you could refer to this thread (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6173763/using-windows-azure-to-use-as-a-tcp-server
