  • Create Handling unit after receiving finished goods  from production

    Hello,
My client's requirement is that they do not want a TR or TO to get created at the time of Production order confirmation and neither they want to create the Handling unit at the time of confirmation.
They want to move the material from production to warehouse as one Handling unit after multiple confirmations. They want to create Handling unit manually after the receipt of materials.
What is the process of creating Handling unit after we have FG (multiple batches).
After creation of Handling units, my client wants to ship the same Handling unit out to customer.
    How to create Handling unit
    Regards
    Prabhjot Singh

    Hi,
If I understand right - customer wants a simple transfer of finished goods from production to warehouse, and latter pack into handling units.
    Possible scenario:
    1) Assign production order to non-WM and non-HU storage location. Post GR for production order using transaction MIGO (mvmt. type 101) for a whole quantity produced for production order.
    2) Setup packing table in IMG (Logistic General > Handling Units > General > Setup packing table> ...) --> packing table is a functionality for packing goods into HU - it takes goods from predefined source non-WM/non-HU location, packs them into HU and places them in target WM-HUM location.
    2) Maintain packaging instruction (trans. POP1 and POF1) to automate the packaging quantities.
    3) Run packaging table by HUPAST, select your table and pack.
    4) Packed HU ends up on WM-HUM location.
This process can be done either in SAP GUI (HUPAST) or you can build it in RF transaction and run it with mobile RF scanner (ABAP development required).
Hopefully this will be of any help.

  • How to handle finished goods without PP module

    Hi
I am a MM consultant and i have been placed in an implementation project where there is no PP module. But client wants to dispatch Finished goods without BOM and PP module but it needs to be captured through MM module.
Request your help and how to resolve this kind of scenario?
Expecting a favourable reply at the earliest.
    Thanks & Regards
    DVP

    Hi Dusthakar,
Its not uncommon to have such a requirement to handle finished products in MM without using Production Planning module.  You will maintain FG material#s as well as Raw Material#s.  Create BOM for those FG materials.  Create a vendor for  your company on its own name.  Create a Subcontracting Purchase Order for FG on to this vendor.  It brings in BOM to PO,..,you may verify at material data tab of item.  You can receive it to your plant.  You may mark Free or charge on item.  This will make it nothing to be paid to this vendor.  FG comes to your plant.  How do you like this approach  We have been doing this for the past couple of years!
Reward points only if you are thrilled with this solution!

  • Error during goods receipt of Finished goods for production order

    hi friends
pls help me iam struggle this issue and mentioned the issue .
when i do goods receipt for production order system getting error like
No price could be determined for material/batch FG/ plant ZTP
         Message no. CK 465
    Diagnosis
The system could not calculate a price for material/batch FG/ in plant
ZTP for valuation view 0, because none of the valuation strategies in
         valuation variant 007 was successful.
    System Response
User-defined error management enables you to specify whether the message
is an error message, a warning message or an information message.
o   If you have defined the message as a warning message or an
information message, the costing item will be entered in the cost
estimate with a value of zero.
If you have defined the message as an error message, the cost
estimate contains an error or errors.
    -   In the case of a material cost estimate, the system sets the
        status KF.
    -   If it is a cost estimate without quantity structure, or base
object cost estimate (that is, a unit cost estimate),  the
system cannot proceed with costing until you have corrected the
        errors.
If the system issues a termination message, the cost estimate cannot
be processed, and processing is terminated.
    procedure
o   Check the master data for material/batch FG/ in plant ZTP.
o   If you have authorization for Customizing, check the valuation
strategy for materials in valuation variant 007.
        Note
If the message is a warning message or an information message, there is
a danger that materials with errors will be ignored by the system.
If, because of this, you issue a warning message and at the same time
include materials with a zero value in cost estimates, you can make the
following settings for these materials in the costing view of the
        material master:
      1.  Enter a very low price in the planned price 1, 2 or 3 fields
manually, for instance 0.01 USD. These prices are used for costing
purposes only; they are not read by other applications.
      2.  Enter the highest price unit possible, for example 10000.
Note: If you enter a new price unit that is higher than the costing
lot size, the system increases the costing lot size accordingly.
      3.  Change the valuation strategy, such as strategy 4, where you could
enter the planned price field in which you entered the low price.
The system now costs as follows:
Using the valuation strategy, the system finds planned price 1, 2 or
          3. Due to the low price and high price unit, the system rounds the
value to zero. However, the cost estimate still obtains status KA
(free of errors), and no error message is issued.
This procedure can be used for all materials that have caused error
          message CK465 to be issued.

  • Material backflush in production order after finished goods GR

    Dear all,
I once started similiar topic several months ago, but didn't recieved any response. I'm gonna give it another try, so maybe you'll be able to support me after all.
So, the situation is like this. We have a production order, in which MC team maintained the materials to consume. The problem is, that very often it comes that we have to use same material part, but under 2-3 different partnumbers. E.G.:
Production order target: 1000 finished goods
    Required materials: Part A 1000 pcs, Part B1 700 pcs, Part B2 300 pcs, Part C 1000 pcs, Part D1 150 pcs, Part D2 450 pcs, Part D3 400 pcs.
So yes, in case when it is Part B1, B2 and etc. it means that we're using physically the same part, but under different partnumbers. The problem is, that those material are all coming in pieces, not in meters or anything, and we can't allow to have, for example, 0.7 pcs of any of those materials (cause obviously you can't have 0.7 pcs of LCD panels stored in the warehouse).
It wouldn't be a problem if we could just confirm all operations in production order in 1 batch, but production order is being confirmed partially, every time the pallet with finished goods is being released from production line (we have integrated system, that sends requests to SAP to confirm specific quantity of finished goods in production order). So, as an example, if 1 pallet contains 15 pcs of finished goods, you have 67 confirmations for production order [(66*15)+(1*10)]. And, since all those materials come in PCS, SAP is rounding up consumption if it has decimal, which leads to wrong materials consumption.
Initially, I had an idea of adding 1 more operation in production order, which was supposed to be a manual use only, after finished goods GR, and MC team supposed to assign those B1\B2 and etc. material to this operation  E.G.:
Operation 0010 - consume material from work center A
Operation 0020 - consume material from work center B
Operation 0030 - finished goods GR (milestone)
Operation 0040 - consume material from work center C
My idead was rejected, since I was told that after GR for finished goods is done and you continue consuming materials in production order - it will not be shown in financial reporting (don't know the details, it was quite a straight reject, without much explanation).
So, question is - is there a way to consume materials after finished goods GR without creating mess in financial reporting, or if not - what other options do I have?
    thank you in advance

    Hi Valentin,
After GR also you can do goods issue. Till the order status is CLSD (Closed) you can book cost on to the order.
Two ways to consume materials on order.
In order component overview maintain the required part number with quantity. GI as can done with reference to order MB1A 261 movement type.
Directly do GI with MB1A -261 movement type - Input the order number, material number and qty.
Refer to the below discussion on unplanned GI which was discussed yesterday,

  • Production module process

    good evening
just want to know the flow from bill of materials to production of sap b1
any suggestions on where to find specific samples on how to transact in this module am not familiar with manufacturing/production processes.
    thank you.

    Hi.......
    Go through the following process:
4.Prepare BOM for a Finished Goods. Production--> Bill Of Material
5.Based on the requirement Production dept will plan the production. (Productioon> production Order>Planned)
6.User will have to select the FG planned for production and its BOM components will come automatically along with its ratio defined into the Bill of Material.
7.Initially Production Order will be into the Planned Stage.
8.Once planned the status will have to be changed to Released. (Productioon> production Order>Released)
9.After release, the commitment for the RM and Order for the FG will be created towards Production Order that can be viewed in inventory status of the item.
10.On the basis of inventory status raw material has to be issued and that should be done through Issue for Production. ( (Productioon--> Issue for Production)
11.Once the testing done FG has to be received through Receipt from Production where user has to enter the total approved quantity and total rejected quantity.  (Productioon-->Receipt From production)
12.Once Production completed, the status of production has to be changed to closed and ready for dispatch. (Productioon> production Order>Planned)

  • Subcontracting-moving average price update in finished good

    Dear all,
We are having make to order scenario in which we are sending raw material or semifinished goods to subcontractor through purchase order .The price control is v in material master ,when processing is done at subcontractors end we are doing goods receipt with movement type 101 it takes price from purchasing info record .When i am analysing sales order  it shows material/semifinished costs+processing charges, but in material master of finished product it does not update material master stock and value. kindly provide me solution as to how moving price gets updated in material master of finished product.
    Thanks and regards

    hi.
ya I am doing against sales order as we are having make to order scenario,we are sending raw material to subcontractor from our own stock and then my movement type 912 e we are sending to subcontractor ,I am receiving finished goods after processing charges for which migo transaction is done .After seeing sales order cost in tcode kkac i am able to see raw material cost+consumption charge. But as we are having mto scenario it remains as sales order stock and nothing gets updated in material master. My problem is if customer does not takes delivery of my finished product then i have to detach finished goods from that sales order through movement type 411 e and through movement type 412 e attached to another sales order, but since price have not been updated in material master of finished goods it picks up original price which was maintained as re.1 .Kindly provide me solution in above scenario

  • Uploading Production Requirements For Finished Goods From External System To Run MRP For Components in SAP.

    Hello Production Planning experts,
I'm looking to solve the current business problem:
The company bought a third party software (JD Edwards) to calculate production requirements instead of using SAP's standard Production Planning or a tool like SAP's APO. They run a batch job to query Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from sap and feed/upload it to the third party software so it can calculate the Finished Goods Production Requirements for them. They love the third party software, so replacing it is not an option. Since the third party software is already taking into account Sales Orders, Deliveries, available stock, stock in transit, etc. from SAP, it just outputs a "Finished Goods Production Schedule" by week.
    My questions are:
    1) What's the best way to upload something like that in SAP in the form of Planned Orders or something of that nature?
After i get that schedule in SAP:
    2) Is there any way to calculate components' requirements for that "Finished Goods Production Schedule" alone? The company would like to IGNORE existing stock AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc) for Finished Goods ONLY. The components calculations would work the standard MRP way, taking into account existing stock and AND expected-goods-issues in the future (sales orders, deliveries, etc)
I started looking into Master Production Schedule (MPS), but I don't know if that's the right approach since I'm not very familiar with it.
Thanks in Advance! I will gladly reward points for helpful/correct answers.

    Hello Oscar
I suggest you to upload your production plan in the for of "Planned Independent Requirements" using BAPI BAPI_REQUIREMENTS_CREATE. Later, MRP will create planned orders to cover the PIRs.
If you don't want to consider the existing stock of the finished product, you should use the planning strategy 11 to create your PIRs. Take a look on the following link for more details about this planning strategy:
Gross Requirements Planning (11) - Demand Management (PP-MP-DEM) - SAP Library
Here you will find the following information:
The make-to-stock strategy gross requirements planning is particularly useful in mass production environments; it is often combined with repetitive manufacturing. This strategy is particularly useful if you need to produce, regardless of whether you have stock or not. For instance, steel or cement producers might want to use this strategy because they cannot shut down production; a blast furnace or a cement factory must continue to produce, even if this means having to produce to stock.
This strategy is also frequently used if there is a Material Requirements Planning system in a legacy system that needs to be linked to an SAP system which serves as a production execution system. The legacy system calculates a specific production plan, which has to be executed, regardless of the stock situation in the SAP system
It looks like this planning strategy is exactly what you are looking for.

  • Costing Report summarized production cost by Finished Goods Material

    Dear Expert,
I am looking for a report that can summarized the production cost in production order by Finished Goods Material Number.
or a report that can show me the cost components incurred related to a Finished Goods Material.
Can any expert enlighten me? please help.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi
I would recommend the product drilldown reports in KKO0...
For this you will have to do settings in OKN0 (Asisgn a Cost Comp Structure and specify the Product Group)
After this, execute KKRV to collect the summarized data and then you can use KKO0 reports
It gives cost of production as per the Cost Comp Str and also the product no, product group, Prod Order etc

  • ATP Check Finished Goods against Components for production planning

    Hi All,
Our business has a requirement that they want finished goods to be planned based on the availability of components. Currently we have an APO solution which plans at finished goods level only so there is no need to bring components into APO. We will probably use CTM (currently using Heuristics)
We have concerns about the harm that this will do to our system performance and we really do not want to bring these components into APO.  We are therefore interested if there is any way we can avoid bringing these components into APO.
In the past, there use to be a seperate ATP server from SAP where this could be done but my understanding is that this was discontinued and is no longer supporetd. Can someone advise me if there was a product that replaced this ATP Server or does anyone have any suggestions on how we can avoid bringing the components into APO. Please consider that it is not possible to limit to just critical components.
    Mark

    Mark,
Hmmm..   Your seem to be considering adding hardware to support ATP server, but you seem unwilling to consider adding more hardware to the current SCM solution?  Doesn't make much sense to me.  Like most SAP products, SCM/APO can be expanded almost infinitely, if you need performance gains.  Which you don't know yet.
Anyhow, depending on your requirements, CTM is probably overkill.  PPDS or SNP alone would be adequate.  If enhanced availability checking is what you want, then one of the GATP solutions would work.
I guess ATP server still exists (run transaction ACBD from ECC) but I don't think I have ever seen anyone use ATP server at the same time they are using SCM.   All ATP server does is move the processing load of ECC ATP check onto a distinct buffered memory area.  I don't see how that will solve your problem, but I guess I don't really understand what you mean by "planned based on the availability of components." You don't need anything special to plan FGs in SCM and components in R/3, this is pretty standard.

  • Production date of finished goods

    Dear Experts,
How to check production date of finished goods products.
    wilson

    Hi..
what I would say that production date would be the confirmed finish date.. if you open any production order..there is a field for this confirmed finish date.. it is the field which gets updated when u do the GR of finished product...
Let me know if u have different requirement.
I think Prasobh seems to be more accurate to ur requirement...
