Unable to record, access planner, pause or rewind

Yesterday I was unable to watch anything at all on sky tv. Today it has come back on and I can't access my planner or pause, rewind or fast-forward anything at all. I rang sky who talked me a through a rebuild. This did not work so said I could try resetting the whole thing if I wanted which would result in losing all my recordings. I asked what other options I had and he said never use the recording feature again. As this is not really a realistic option I performed the system reset as instructed. This also made no difference and was told I would have to pay for an engineer to come out. I was also told there was no compensation for loss of services while I wait for an engineer as it is a fault with the box not the sky service. Is this correct? And is this my only option? And does it seems right that the box would just stop working like this? I have only had it for 15 months. Thanks

The one other thing you could try is to force a software refresh. To do this, switch the box off at the plug and wait 5 minutes. Then press and hold the backup button on top of the box (not the remote) while switching on again. Keep the button pressed until all 4 LEDs light on the front panel, then follow the on screen instructions.
If that doesn't help, the most likely cause is a prematurely failed hard drive. Another possibility is that the box has overheated if it is placed in a position where it doesn't get sufficient ventilation.
I'm not sure the adviser was correct concerning a service rebate. I'd give Sky a call again once the engineer has fixed the problem. I would have thought you should be eligible for a pro rata refund of your subscription from the time you reported the fault to the time it's fixed.

  • Can't record, pause or rewind

    Why am I the only person who cant record, pause or rewind any Internet channel on the YouView box? I get messages saying "sorry, you cant record an Internet channel". I've made a complaint, BT said I should reset my updates, that didn't work, then they tell me I cant do it because of an issue between BT and YouView!!
    To make matters worse, BT are rubbish at making things available on demand so if I miss a rugby game I have to wait days and days to see if I'm lucky and BT have decided to put the game onto demand. If they do, they put on the shortest version possible, no analysis, pre/post match talk or half time review.
    Get it together and sort it out or replace my YouView box with something else that works. you can record, pause and rewind BT SPORT on Sky and Virgin.

  • Recording and pausing and rewind internet channel...

    I think this may have been asked before but when will we finally  get the software update so we can recored, pause and rewind the internet channels likes the BT sport channels and others. I did read somewhere that BT would have a software update a few weeks after launch on of the internet channels and BT sport on Youview but nearly 8 weeks have passed and we still don't have this software update.

    BT said a few weeks but YouView always said it would be this autumn and that's what they still say. 
    It wil be here soon.

  • Camcorder video error: "Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."

    We purchased two Samsung Droid Charges the first day they were released and recently they've both been getting this error after 8-15 seconds of recording in HD (1280x720): "Warning: Unable to record. Resolution not supported by memory card."
    Called Verizon tech support, but they referred me to Samsung. Not knowing much about micro SDHC cards, I was alarmed to discover that the factory pre-installed 32gb card is only rated class 2 for speed. Samsung told me you need a minimum of speed class 4 or higher to record at this resolution. The only problem is you need an SD card installed in order to use the camcorder, period. In other words, all of us who payed an arm and a leg for the best phone Verizon sells now have to go buy our own micro sd card that actually supports all of the phone features as advertised?! The lowest prices I've seen for the faster cards are $70. Are we the only two Charge owners experiencing this problem?  I've read somewhere that lower speed class cards may initially support faster speeds than they are rated until they accumulate more files, so the problem may go undetected for some time until you have more files that are stored in different locations on the card (making them difficult to access at the faster speeds). This may explain why are the first ones to get this error since we've had the phones the longest and only 50% free space remaining on the SD card. Oh, Samsung also said they won't be able to replace your card for one that has the proper speed rating. Kind of seems like false advertising to say a feature is available (HD camcorder), and then not mention the fact that the memory card provided isn't sufficient for that feature (separate upgrade required). Anyone else sharing the same frustrations? Ideas?

    Thanks for the response. I've tried everything on that page. It's not an issue with the cable, or firewire port or the cable being connected properly, as the iSight camera works fine with iChat. I've disconnected the only other firewire device on the computer, didn't make any difference. Camera works fine in iChat, so it's not the camera itself. And, as I mentioned in the post, the same camera, if hooked up to my laptop, works just fine recording in QuickTime. So, it appears to be an issue with the QuickTime installation on this computer. I've done a search for the same error I'm getting and found some other occurrences with the same problems, but none that offered a solution.

  • Pause and Rewind function stops on Xi3 box

    I do have this feature working in the Seattle market area.  The SD card is 1 gb and allows for 25 mins of recorded program content.  I've been having issues where the Pause or Rewind stops working and I get a message regarding the set top box not supporting this feature.  Up until now I've been restarting the box to temporarily fix the problem.  Of course restarting requires 3-5 minutes of down time but I found a quicker solution.  If you simply eject the SD card, you will get a message regarding missing components for the pause / rewind feature.  Then just reinsert SD card and all is well until the next time.  I've had the Xi3 boxes for about 2-3 months now, and they have worked fine up until the past week, then this issue with Pause / Rewind not support message started.  Yesterday went to my local Comcast store and replaced the 2 - Xi3 boxes to see if that made any difference.  It did not, but I also found that if I get the Pause / Rewind failure condition, it will also resolve itself on it's own.  This I self correction I just saw this morning but don't know how long this self healing takes.

  • How to change the pricing date inthe conditon record access details

    Please help to solve this issue.
    When we create a sales order, pricing date will update as creation date and the same date will appear in the condition records access details for all the respective condition type.
    In case of sales order is created with reference to Contract then pricing date will update same as from the contract pricing date.
    for examaple contract created on  01.01.2014 for the same day  if we create the sales order with reference contract then pricng date will update as 01.01.2014 in the sales order.
    If we create the sales order example today 19.05.2015 but stil pricing date will update as 01.01.2014 (due to same date available in the contract)
    Now my requirment is for one of the condition type ex ZXXX this pricing date should update as sales order creation date (Not all the condition types) in the condition record access.
    Please check and let me know ho to solve this issue.

    Try dragging the window away from its location, resizing it, then maximizing it.  There's been a bug since iTunes 11 that doesn't always size the window correctly if set to run maximized automatically (which I've notice most particularly on dual-screen systems).

  • ISE BYOD Error: "We are unable to determine access privileges" on redirect

         I am running ISE 1.1.1 and have gone through the design guide and setup the certificate based wireless authentication and device registration process using the ISE as a SCEP proxy for handing out certificates.  On the device registration portal instead of showing the device MAC the policy services node MAC shows up and I get an error that says "We are unable to determine access privileges in order to access the network. Please contact your adiminstrator."
    The an hour later I can connect just fine. The authentication logs on ISE are exactly the same in both cases. So it seems like a bug I opened a TAC case but am also posting here.

    I havent opened a TAC case and havent seen this issue since when i first set this up.
    Can you go to your devices portal (https://ipofise:8443/mydevices) login using your credentials and see if the device is registered or the status is set to lost. I would suggest deleting if it is there and try going through the process again.

    I really need help here, I have up to 65 thin clients and 4 vm running WMS 2012 on WS 2008 R2 and they are all licensed. The issue is this, on the clients, i am unable to record. Its not detecting the Headphones mic, but it could speak out with the headphone-speaker

    I really appreciate your effort. I don't understand the gear in your response saying with certified driver and such and using the same gear with a windows laptop/com... to rule out the thin client firmware, Please can you  explain a little bit with
    basics. For the firmware update i will try it in one of it. Thanks, will be expecting a feedback from you and anyone else can also comment. I want to be sure of the firmware thin before making any changes because when doing any firmware upgrade/update, someone
    needs to be careful.

    What happens when you try?
    - Make sure the mic hole is clear and unobstructed. It is the little hole on the back by the camera lens(if has back camera). For the 16 GB one without the back camera the mic hole is on the top edge near the center.
    - Open the Voice Memos app and see if you see movement on the VU meter needle with changes in noise level trying to be recorded.
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings      
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. A few other users have reported problems with their mic not working on thier 5G due to a hardware problem.

  • Email Notification: WorkItem - Unable to open Access Request

    I am using AC 10.1 with SP06
    I have configured Email-notification for the new workitem to approve or reject and this is working completely fine. The approver is getting the mails triggered with the link to goto WorkInbox. All the requests are clearly visible but I (or any approver for that matter) can't open/access the request.
    I had copied the URL link by opening the workinbox and then with right click --> Technical help and pasted the same link in the email subject content. Hope this is the right way to provide the link to work-inbox
    But I can access/open the same request, if I go via the normal procedures SAPGUI --> NWBC --> MyHome --> Workinbox
    Ofcourse, I would've missed some things but not sure what it is.

    I assue the issue (not sure though) might be with the package, where I saved the email document, While creating the new email template at the time of saving it, I created one custom package ZGRC, as you can see there are some of the package encapsulation which are not captured.     I have saved my log-in credentials with Chrome browser so whenever i click on the link coming from the email notification, the browser doesn't ask me to enter ID, password and takes me to my workinbox items wherer i can see the requests pending for my approvals.
    But if i use the same link on IE, it asks me to enter credentials, as I didn't save the ID and password So, after providing the credentials, I can see the requests pending for my approval, but UNABLE to open/access any of the requests.
    I have activated all the required services as well.

    Hacking an iPhone is against's Apple license agreement for the iPhone and is not supported by Apple directly or indirectly via these discussions not to mention removes the built-in security included with iOS and has likely bricked your iPhone now.
    Contact whoever you downloaded that hacking garbage from for help with this.
