Unable to Register iPad to the directv genie go app
Trying to Register iPad Air to directv GenieGo app, keep getting error message that ......Must be In Home. You must be on your home network and connected to your DVR to setup your GenieGo. And I am at home.
I am unable to login to the amazon account to register. I access the Kindle app, and am brought to the next screen which gives the options: Amazon account email address, Amazon account password, Register this Kindle. If I tap any of the three of this options, nothing happens. I am able to tap the bottom of the screen where it reads: By registering, you agree to the Kindle License Agreement Terms of Use and am brought to the page to read this agreement.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

To solve some sound problems, just follow these simple steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on General
3. Tap on Reset
4. Tap on Reset All Settings
You may need to delete the game app and redownload (you won't be charged).

It is my understanding from these documents that if it is on and connected to the internet you can track it. In there it tells how tell if it is online by the color of the dot.

Unable to register or sync new 4th gen iTouch
New 4th generation iTouch won't allow me complete the initial registration process in iTunes. I'm unable to sync or do anyting (Windows 7).
Open iTunes's Preferences and go to the Device tab. If there is an entery for a backup delete it. and try again.
Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode and restore via iTunes. For recovery mode see:

Our data is being used up and confused about sources responsible? Texting is not part of the data so besides our iPhone and laptops what else would use this data?
Anything that is connected to the Jetpack could be using data. Traditional SMS/Texting is not considered data but that wouldn't be going through the Jetpack anyways. The only way you would rack up data from texting would be if you are using a texting app that sends messages over the internet and not via your phone number.
What you need to do is setup network usage or data monitors on the various devices that are connected to the Jetpack. If its a PC or a phone then chances are you can rig up a monitor directly on that device. If its a smart appliance like a TV, thermo or security system then you would need the assistance of a router that can run monitor software for you. Monitors are only as good as the traffic that passes through them so you need to explore your options and setup traps to capture the traffic accordingly.
A good place to start on windows PCs is something called Glasswire. -

If the phone is offline there is no way to track it or send a message to it. You can place it in lost mode to lock it and send it a message (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f0165), but this will not take place until the phone goes back online, if it ever does. If it does, you will get an email informing you.

I would like to hook up my iPad to my tv to watch videos. I know it can be done using one of three different
Cables. for some reason I didn't have any luck using the component cords (green, blue, red video and red white audio). It is possible the set I bought was faulty. I have been discouraged from using the composite (yellow video, red and white audio) because the quality is so terrible. And my tv does not have a VGA outlet. Has anyone used the composite, with only the three prongs? If so, how was the quality and is it worth using?The cables you were using are component cables and if you have component input on your tv, it should work. You must note however that you can't view everything from your iPad onto the tv. Just apps like YouTube, video app, photo slideshows and any other apps that specifically states that it will output to tv.

Hello, my Ipad was stolen about a week ago, I activated the "find my iPhone" app, however it says my Ipad is offline since the day it was stolen, does anyone know…:
1. Is there another way I can track its location, or more importantly have the information stored on my Ipad erased ASAP?
2. Taking into consideration I blocked the iPad using the find my iPhone app, is there anyway the iPad can be used? Can someone erase all the data, my itunes account, reset all settings etc.? before connecting online?

We purchased a new iPad2 and registered it using a 'new' iCloud email/ID. We are unable to send email from the iPad and iPhone. The error is:>> Cannot send mail. The user name or password for iCloud is incorrect.
About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone. Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc. This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

If the machine is brand new I don't see why the serial Number is missing (it is entered on to a special chip at the factory)
However if the machine is a return and has been refurbished then the Logic/mother board may have been changed and someone forgot to put the info back to the new board.
