Unable to Register Iphoto/ilife )8
Hi I have purchased I-life 08 and have installed the suite of programmes but im unable to register the product - it keeps saying that my ID is incorrect. I have checked my login and it is correct but im still unable to register the product - can you help.
Cooperd:
The ID for the iLife 08 package is the product number for the item: MB015Z/A. It's not required to register it.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Since installing iLife 09, unable to use iPhoto
Unable to open iPhoto v. 802 or v. 902. Error message reads in part;
"your Photo Library is either in use by another application or has
become unreadable". Any suggestion appreciated.I have tried everything and still, iPhoto does not open.
Then there is no hope
But on the outside chance that you have not tried everything have you rebuilt from all of the available options (except compacting the database)?
Have you used iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild?
Have you created a new user and tested from that new user?
Have you reinstalled iPhoto?
What is 'everything"

Unable to run iphoto after upgdare
hi,
recently I have upgraded to iLife 11, and after that and software upgrade I am unable to launch iPhoto.
I am getting error "In order to open iPhoto, you need to update to the latest version.
Please run Software Update to install it now"
however there is no package to be installed in software update.
all were updated already
any idea how to fix this one?How old is your Mac? If it's very recent you need to update via the App Store
If you purchased at the App Store you need to update via the App Store
Otherwise you update via Softare Update
If you have moved iPhoto from the default location (i.e. into a Folder) then the updater won't find it. Move it back.
If you have renamed iPhoto, the updater won't find it. Change it back.

I am unable to download iPhoto version 9.5 and iMovie version10.0, with my apple ID due to remark, this update is for an app downloaded with different Apple ID,Sign in with that Apple ID and try again, but I don't have other ID.
<Email Edited by Host>The Early 2011 MacBook Pro shipped with Snow Leopard, so these are not the Mac App Store versions of iLife, they are the boxed software versions.
If they are in an iWork '09 folder take them out and let them loose in the Apps folder. Then reindex your HDD.

Unable to download iPhoto n pages app by apple for free in my 5c!
I bought 5c last week and i was trying to download free apps by apple for 5c and 5s (ilife and iwork apps).
I am unable to download iphoto and pages for free!See this document: http://www.imore.com/how-get-all-iwork-apps-iphoto-and-imovie-free-eligible-ipho ne-or-ipad
Is it because I am using old Apple ID made two years ago for my MacBookPro?
Have you changed the AppleID on your device? Use the same ID you initially used.
Also, try this advice by Fornate:
I talked with Apple support and here's what worked for me: go to settings - itunes and app stores, and sign out. Then go back to the App Store and search for one of the apps. They will list as free, and once you start the download it will ask you to sign in to associate it with your account. Just rinse and repeat! -

Open the Mac App Store application and see if iPhoto is under your "Purchases" tab.

First issue: I have for the second time installed Acrobat xi pro and then click on "check for updates" from the help menu. And it shows that an update is available. But when I update it I am given the following error message:
Error 1328. Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi\PT669B.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor."
When I click on "details" I am sent to adobe's "update error" page. Which states the following for error 1328: Error applying patch to [filename]. It's likely that something else updated the file, and the patch can't modify it. For more information, contact your patch vendor.
I have tried uninstalling program and re-installing program but still get same error message from my attempt at updating. So I am not sure if program is update or not. And I do not know who my "patch vendor" is.
Second issue: Unable to register product with Adobe. Because the option to do so from the "help" menu which lists "product registration" is greyed/dimmed out. Therefore not giving me the ability to register this product. Please let me know what is causing this problem.I am not sure, but will suggest some things to try. On the activate issue, it may be that your system already thinks it is activated and so you might try the deactivate and check. If that works, I would suggest you then uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove anything left of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. Hopefully you can open Acrobat and activate. Then do the updates from the Help menu.

Unable to open iphoto after ver 11 upgrade
Unable to open iphoto after ver 11 upgrade.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Unable to update iphoto to 9.4.3. - error
Hi, I am unable to update iphoto (update to 9.4.3.) on my imac with OSX 10.8.3. Every time it starts to download but after a minute or so I get a message 'an error has occured'. What should I do? thanks in advance
Where are you updating from? The App Store? If so, contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window.
-
unable to update iPhoto it says I'm signed in as another user. I have tried two apple ids but neither of them work..
You need to contact App Store support. They are the only people who can help with account issues.
-
After updating to Mavericks, I have been unable to update iphoto, and when I attempt to, it says that These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID, and they will be available in that Apple ID's Purchases list. But no other appleID has ever been used on my computer, how could this be resolved?
Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They're the only ones who can sort out account issues.

Hi All,
I have a Macbook Pro, 5,5. It's a few years old and was running slow. My son backed up my Microsoft Office documents and my photos onto a thumb drive and ran 'wiped my computer clean'...using a disc that came with my computer. (I am NOT computer savy at all).
I was able to reinstall the Mac OS X install DVD that came with my Mac, but IPHOTO, ILIFE did not reinstall. I transferred the word documents successfully, and my photos transferred to an icon on a 'library' on the desktop, but I can't use. How do i get IPHOTO back?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thank you so much for responding. I will look for the other disks.
One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key. In addition, it was running much slower. Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect. This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key. Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?
Again, thanks so much for your suggestions. -
Hi,
I am unable to open Iphoto, I get an error message that reads "you cant' open the application because it may be damaged or incomplete. Any thoughts?Hopefully you have a back-up just in case.
If you have TimeMachine just restore the iPhoto.app
You could also try holding the option-command keys down when you launch iphoto, See if you can repair this way to make it happy- if it is a database problem.
IPhoto is on your install DVD if you need to reinstall a fresh copy of the app. -
