Unable to reinstall Feature Pack 1 for Nokia 701: ...

I have just upgraded my 701 to Feature Pack 1 using Nokia Suite, however, given I've had problems in the past with the Microsoft ActivSync always asking for passwords with Google I thought I'd reset the phone and reinstall from scratch.
I performed a hard reset by pressing the menu, volume down and camera keys as I turned the phone on then tried to reinstall using both Nokia Suite (beta), Nokia Suite (normal) and Nokia Software Updator. All of them say I need to insert a valid SIM card! There is nothing wrong with the SIM card that is in - it works fine. I've tried two others, one from a different network, with no success. I've changed the profiles around and turned off the security code, but still no success.
A number of applications are missing since the hard reset, notably Nokia Store, which won't install at all, either the current version or the one from betalabs. They download but the installation fails.
Any suggestions?
I've also noticed the calendar week view is no longer there, scroll bars have stopped working, and the menu key can no longer be cancelled by pressing the same bit of screen again (the new menu has been drawn too low).

I have a C7 as well and already perform a 3 finger hard reset,but a software reinstall put it back as 2out of the box".don't know why this do not works in Nokia 701

As far as i know it should be missing in your phone,the photo and video editor right?
That's why i took mine to Nokia Care Center,they put the phone as out of the box.

Hi Guys,
Please refer to my original anwser stated on this thread but just to re-iterate Nokia has not officially announced any new updates or release dates suffice to say support will continue for Belle devices up until 2016. Anything you read on the net "claiming" to be leaks or "from an a official source" is all speculation and as you all know from the forum guidelines to quote
"Nokia does not comment on rumours or speculation concerning anything not officially announced by the company, and as such discussion of such matters on this forum is also not permitted."
So anything you read on google and other websites are not offical! As stated by Nokia these devices will have continued support till 2016 but at this present time nothing in regards to a feature pack 2 has been announced. Please wait for offically annoucements which you can read on the forums or the Nokia website. You can also check for updates as well through your devices and Nokia suite. Windows Media feature pack for Windows 8.1 PRO N version?

I am new in Nokia development.
I have a Nokia 701 (SW version 111.020.0307 - Symbian Belle).
I want to develop a NFC application which sends NDEF messages (through SNEP protocol) to an Android phone (Ice cream).
From what I could see till now, the SW version that I have in my Nokia phone does not support SNEP.
I want to know if there is any SW update for Nokia 701 which supports SNEP.

Just adding more information in order to clarify my questions related to this post.
I am pretty new in Nokia developing. Actually this is the first application I was asked to develop/change.
I work to a company which has a client that has an application that runs in Nokia 701 (SW version  111.020.0307 - Symbian Belle). They want us to change this application in order to be able to send NDEF messages through SNEP protocol.
From what I could see till now, current SW version in the Nokia 701 does not support SNEP.
I also saw that new QTMobility versions support SNEP. I would like to know if I download the Nokia SDK and the new QTFramework/QTMobility:
1- I would be able to change the existing application to send NDEF messages through SNEP.
2- Would the modified application run in the current  Nokia 701 SW release? Or we would have to install any new lib to have it working?
3- Where can I find which QTFramework/QTMobility version are supported in current SW 111.020.0307 - Symbian Belle?
Sorry if my questions are very rudimentary, but, as I said, I am new in the company and pretty new in Nokia development. All those terms  QTFramework/QTMobility are new to me.

Microsoft Apps update not available for Nokia 701

From nokia conversations website, I could see that MIcrosoft Apps is available for Nokia 701 (http://conversations.nokia.com/2012/04/10/get-microsoft-office-for-symbian/) post Belle FP1 update. But I am not able to get that update. I am from India. My product code is 059J7M4 (This is a new code that I got after taking my mobile to Nokia care for software update).

If the Nokia care point staff has changed your product code in repair, they should have changed it back to the original before handing it back to you. In this case please visit the Care point and ask them to change the product code back to the original. If they have replaced enough parts, or the whole device, so that the product code has been changed as well, then it's just not available for your device yet.

Indian languages support for Nokia 701

How to read different Indian languages in Nokia 701, egg like Hindi or Malayalam etc. Especially in Social or other multimedia's. Now it comes as boxes. Do we need to download any software application from nokia or third party.

Feature phones like Nokia 2700, C3 00 etc can show all Indian languages including Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, etc even though with no support for typing all languages.
Nokia 701 being a smartphone, when it was released was not supporting even Hindi language, later after software update phone supported Hindi.
It would be better to support all India languages like as feature phones does. It is cool to read news websites in our native language.
Please provide this feature in fp2.

External charger for nokia 701 ?

is there a charger that i can charge at home, take with me outdoor and connect to my phone to charge it? It would be funny if there isn't, in light of the fact there are 2 charging holes in the phone, the regular charging one and the usb connection.

Features matrix for nokia phones

i just got a new n90 and was quite dissapointed to find there is no vibrate for this model.
Now i understand that this is more than likely to do with the camera, and to be honest i can live with out it - but it would have been nice if o knew before hand.
wouldnt it be great if nokia had a features matrix for all of its phones, past and present.
i know there is a comparison tool, but thats all graphics and you can only check 3 phones at one go. i think it would be great to add a text based features matrix so you can check out the phone you want to get against all the others in one go.

Firmware reinstall and download for nokia c5.002

Download and Install Nokia Suite on your PC from HERE . Connect the Phone to PC thru' USB and open Nokia Suite -->Tools-->Software Update. If an update is available the Nokia Suite will show it ... Follow the instructions carefully ...If there is no update available, you may see an option to re-install the Firmware as seen in the attachment. If you don't get the option, you need to visit Nokia Care to get it done.
Be aware that during the update / re-install, the phone will switch OFF and ON on its own several times. You may also see the message that the phone is disconnected. Simply ignore all these and do not use or disconnect the phone till the process is complete. Doing so at a critical stage may result in a dead phone ..

Unfortunately there is no setting where user can adjust the equalizer like he wants. We have no information if this feature will be included in some future update.
You can download separate equalizer application from Nokia Store.

The application available on OVI store link: http://store.ovi.com/content/30656 is not compatible with Nokia 701 - can anyone tell me when is the update for Microsoft Business apps is going to release.

Thanks to Nokia for the update released in the begining of Feb - which is bundled with Microsoft Business Apps - now no need to have communicator app - you can simply use Microsoft Lync

I live in Norway. Recently I bought a 3720 from Germany, and I didn't realise that the phone would be without Norwegian language options. The menus are not a major problem, but the lack of a Norwegian dictionary for texting is. My question: Is it possible to download the Scandinavian language pack to my phone? Or is it possible to acquire it through some kind of service center?

The whole firmware must be changed. Your current firmware variant is identified through the Nokia Product Code (05…). Your current code is printed on the label behind the battery. You need a firmware variant which contains Norwegian like 0590889 (Grey) or 0591159 (Yellow). Officially, this is done by a Nokia Care Centre. However, because I am an end-user like you, I do not know if there is still such a centre in Norway.

Did you try more than one SIM ? Borrow from your friends / family members and see if other SIMs are getting detected. If yes, get your SIM replaced thru' your Operator.. If the problem is with all SIMs, get the phone inspected at Nokia Care for any Hardware issue ...
