Unable to remove some of the applications

Last week I installed a free java application which worked fine. Now I want to remove this application but couldn't find it in Application Manager and also when I select the Application and hit C nothing happens I can move it within Application folder or somewhere else but can not remove it.
Can someone please help me. By the way I have N82. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.
As I mentioned in my first post application which I want to remove is not listed in the Application Manager. I mostly select card as destination to install application. So I was asking as it is not visible in App. Mgr. can I browse the card and remove this app.like sometimes we do in windows. though I am unable to remove the app. it is running perfectly but i don't need it.
Is it possible that the application is still running when you go to Uninstall it? Symbian Apps can be forced to close during the uninstallation phase (via a user confirmation prompt), but I don't believe Java applications can. Make sure it is not running in the background. If you provide details about the application you're trying to remove, more help may be able to be provided.

  • Can you remove some of the Default applications

I want to give an iPod Touch to my mother who is technically challenged and doesn't have WiFi.
I only want the iPod functionality, not the browsers, email, maps, or any other feature.
Is there a way to disable or remove default apps that you don't want?
ps: I do not want an iPod classic., it''s interface is harder to learn than the touch.

I too would like to remove some of the default apps. Personally, I find the YouTube, Stocks, and Maps, useless to me and its just a waste of icon space. And whats with the "The touch may not be for you". Seriously, if someone wants a touch but doesn't want some of the default apps, that doesn't mean the touch is not for someone. I think it would be a smart move for Apple to revise the iPod (and iPhone, if people can't remove default apps on there) so that we may remove the default apps that we don't use. It makes absolutely no sense to just "move" the app to the back if we don't even use the app. That's like saying "you may not have any use for this app, but its here because we want to force you to keep the junk we give you". And it sounds a lot like a Microsoft move for the all the Windows operating systems they have released (up to Vista, so far) forcing Internet Explorer on all its users and not allowing us to remove it because it was integrated into the Operating System. Supposedly, Microsoft is growing up and letting the user to actually disable (maybe even remove) Internet Explorer in the upcoming Windows 7. What about Mac OS X, does it force Safari on its users, like its forcing some of these unnecessary apps onto the iPod Touch? I wouldn't don't know, I don't earn quite enough money to buy myself an iMac or MacBook (and I've even heard from several people that its more expensive to get a gaming Mac than a gaming PC with similar hardware configuration). Only Apple product I own so far is an iPod Touch.
But I will give Anna credit. Anna at least answered the question.
The question was "Can you remove some of the default applications" and a response saying "What is your mother going to use it for? Maybe the Touch is not the right device for her." by "D'Fish'N'Seas" does not answer the question at all. The question has nothing to do with what the mother is going to use the iPod for, so don't post a response like that, its one of the reasons that causes short tempered people to flame other people.
Ok, so since Anna answered the question that Ron asked. I have a question related to this topic, and if Ron is still wanting to remove some default apps, I'm sure he would like an answer to the question too. So, here is my question: Has anyone developed an app that would allow us to remove the default apps, or a tool that will guide us in removing some default apps?
And preferably the app or tool be in the most legal possible way. Wouldn't want to ask for something that is illegal.

Hello, I've updated the iPhone I have got I have a problem I hope you respond to some of the applications no longer work, such as the safari and skype and many applications are no longer working with the ios7.0.4

    Standard troubleshooting...
    1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider.  Slide to power off.  Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
    2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
    - From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
    - Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
    - Press the home button when done.
    4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
    5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
    6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

You can't even reinstall Photoshop?  Have you tried completely removing it, including running the Creative Suite Removal script?
How recently did it work?  Have you tried System Restore?

PS CS4 64-bit (in Web Premium CS4) on Win 7 PC.  I did a duplicate file check on my hdd and deleted dup files. Now when I try to run PS 64-bit I get "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application." When I do this, it seems to install correctly until the very end, then it says "Installation Complete With Errors", and when I try to run I get the same 'component missing message'. What can I do? PS 32 bit runs fine. Some of the other applications ib Web Premium say the shortcut has been changed or removed. I appreciate your help...Thank you

Best advice I can think of is to uninstall and run the Clean Script from here.

Renée in the future when removing Photoshop CC please utilize the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Please run the uninstaller and then reinstall.  If you continue to face difficulty reinstalling Photoshop CC then please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

  • Some of the application resources could not be loc...

    Hi everyone,
after (repeated) installation of PC Suite on a Windows Vista PC I still get the following error message, when PC Suite auto-starts:
"Some of the application resources could not be located. Please reinstall the application."
(The installation procedure itself runs w/o any problems.)
    History:
    - An older version of PC Suite was running w/o major problems on my PC. (Unfortunatly I don't remember the exact version.)
    - Then I installed PC Suite 6.83 a few weeks ago, and saw the above error message the first time. Uninstalling & reinstalling did not help. So I was not able using PC Suite in the meantime.
    - Today I tried it with the latest version 6.84, hoping that the underlaying problem might be fixed. Unfortunatly no changes.
    - Again I uninstalled and reinstalled - also without Firewall or Virus Scanner - no success. The error message remains.
    Additional details:
    - Today, after my 1st installation try of 6.84 I also received the following information messages:
"Unable to load resources: C:\PROGRAM FILES\NOKIA\NOKIA PC SUITE 6\Lang\PCSync2_ger.nlr"
    and
"Unable to load graphical resources: C:\PROGRAM FILES\NOKIA\NOKIA PC SUITE 6\Resource\PCSync2_ger.ngr".
    - I searched for these two files and I found them.
    - But interestingly these two messages don't show up anymore.
    My system data:
    - Windows Vista Business, 32 bit,
system updates from Windows Update installed
    - Nokia PC Suite: 6.84.10.3 ger
    Does anybody know help?
Is there a log file somewhere that I could use to understand which resources are actually missing?
@Nokia: When is PC Suite Cleaner planned to be available for 6.83 and later versions and for Vista?
    Many thank in advance
    Christian

since upgrading to ios5 on my iphone4 does not play music (ipod) from my playlists allthough songs are installed, and some of the applications are crashing

Okay, mine now works here is what I did.
plug in the iPhone, iPad etc
in iTunes select the phone or iPad
Under Summary uncheck "Sync with this....."
Under "Music" uncheck the "Sync Music"
Let it remove all the songs, dont worry it will come back no problems.
Once that is all done all the music on the phone or ipad should be gone.
Now check them both back on and everything should copy back onto it.
    Working now !!!!!

I'm using Windows 8.1 and I can see photoshop CC 64 bit. But when I'm launching it, it throws an error "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, Please reinstall the application". I've reinstalled twice but getting the same error. Whereas the 32 bit application works fine. Any help?

First off it would be good to learn how to use iPhoto - editing is one of the most basic operations - what version of iPhoto do you have? Have you watched the videos and looked in Help?
In general you select the photo can click edit - to straighten you use the "Straighten tool" - to remove areas around the photo you use the "crop tool"

I tried opening PS and this message popped up 'Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory. Please reinstall the application.' I cannot find the Reinstall button?

I followed these instructions but cannot find how to reinstall PS. When I click on the membership link the page displays as NOT BEING FOUND.
    Quit all applications.
In the Finder, navigate to the Photoshop application folder.
    Do one of the following:
If the Locales folder is not listed within the application folder, then skip to Step 5.
If the Locales folder is listed within the application folder, then drag the Locales folder to the Trash.
    Choose Finder > Empty Trash.
Start the installer for Photoshop or your edition of the Adobe Creative Suite.
If you purchased boxed software, then insert the installation DVD-ROM into your computer's DVD drive.
If you purchased downloadable software from the Adobe Online Store, then double-click the disk image (.dmg) file or files that you downloaded. (If you no longer have the downloaded disk image file or files, then log in to your account at www.adobe.com/membership to download the installer.)

Ahhh, well  you never mentioned that before. You need to contact your friend from whom you purchased the computer. He/She should have any and all install discs for any third-party software included as well as for OS X and the original pre-installed software.
Apple will gladly sell you replacements for any discs that did come with the computer originally, but they will not do anything for you because you purchased the computer used. If it's in warranty still, then you can get any warranty covered things taken care of through AppleCare:
