Please can anyone help,. I have a Nokia 6600 Slide with the latest software (V6.55). I was successfully using Nokia Maps GPS navigation having purchased a license key for UK/Ireland in January 2011. I have an external bluetooth GPS device. Howver, the Maps license key has now expired (as expected, it was a 1-year licence). Without a license I cannot use the voice-guided navigation function.
When I go throoug the phone menus to purchase a 1-year license again, I get to the menu that asks which payment method I wan to use (I select Visa). At this point the screen just refreshes, with no message or error code. I am not asked for payment card details. I cannot get past the "payment method" menu.
This process worked just fine for me in Jan 2011 when I first purchased a license, and other web browing functions using the built-in web browser are just fine. I have tried refreshing the Nokia software (It was already at V6.55, which is the latest level).
I would appreciate any hints or tips as I really miss my in-car GPS navigation.

OKm - so here is the fix !
Javascript was turned of in my phone browser. I turned on javascript and the problem was gone!

(2) Besides you need to make sure that your network environment is fine for instance your network does not have proxy.

Unable to renew Minisap NSP license

I am unable to renew my license - the email I receive from [email protected] contains a key that looks like it's encrypted or something - it's about 300-400 bytes long. It's in an attachment to the email I get, named nsp.txt. I don't know if Outlook or McAfee has created that attachment, thinking the message was untrustworthy, or that's the way it was originally sent. I use to get an email with instructions for renewing the license - this message is empty except for a line of asterisks.
Here's what's in that attachment when i bring it up in Notepad:

I've tried using http://www.sap.com/technology/minisap for the renwe request, as well as another URL I found in a post elsewhere - both gave me the same results.
Can anyone help with this? The clock is ticking on my renewal window and I'd like to get this resolved befre I turn into a pumpkin. Thanks!

I was finally able to get the license installed. Here's how I did it:
1. Modifed the SAP profile file (search forums for "DVEBMGS00 and ssf/ssfapi_lib and
sec/libsapsecu" for the post that tells what needs to be changed)
2. Fired up SAP
3. Using transaction SLICENSE: specified "New License" and then pointed the transaction to the file ("nsp.txt" in my case) I received as a result of my NW04s renewal request.
(As an aside, I notice that the file reflects a 90-day end date - I wonder what would have happened if I had changed that file to show the year 2010 or something? Would I then have a quasi-permanent license? Inquiring minds want to know ...)

Unable to install MIDP 2.0 app on Nokia 6600

Hi,
I created a simple app using MIDP 2.0 & sent the jar file to my Nokia 6600 via bluetooth.
Upon trying to install the same, i get the following error...

Invalid version"""
Can someone please explain where am I going wrong?
I checked at www.nokia.com/6600 & confirmed that my nokia 6600 supports MIDP 2.0
BTW, i'm using WTK 2.2 (mobility pack with netbeans 5.0) on linux. The app tries to send a simple message via SMS.

Seems as if Nokia 6600 does not supports CLDC 1.1, right click on project properties, change CLDC version to 1.0 & things will start working :)

Nokia 500 Auto Navigator -- Navigation License

I've now searched, everywhere, and send various calls and e-mails to Nokia with NO response, hope somebody can help:
This device is NOT a phone, it is the Nokia 500 Auto Navigator GPS. Please see on the Nokia web site link http://europe.nokia.com/A4577607 .
The devise shows the map, current location, and tracks the route traveled, but does not navigate. As soon as I try to select a route, I shows an error on the GPS screen " NO VALID LICENSE FOUND FOR THIS ROUTE". On the device it shows certain profiles and the one I believe to be the Navigation License called NAVI RSA and NAVY EUROPE are locked. I need to know how to either unlock this, or if I need to purchase a navigation license, how do I do this on this GPS devise manufactured and supplied by NOKIA. Again this device is NOT a phone, so I do not have the options of the menus to purchase extra licenses.
Please assist ASAP, and please do not again refer me back to distibutor Autopage where I purchased the devise, as they can not supply me with any information, and told me several times to contact NOKIA, as they should provide this support.
Hope to hear from someone soon.

Why won't you try to online purchase the rest of the navigation you need? I mean, it's possible for the general phone navigation, why it won't for navigations too??

Unable to renew the SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version license

My license for SAP NetWeaver ABAP 7.02 Trial Version has expired and I was trying to renew the license the other day. I was able to install the new license but, unfortunately, I were not able to delete the old licence not activate the new one.
I logged on with user: SAP* to install the new license and it was installed successfully. When I do try to delete the old one the system gives this error message: " Only the administrator is allowed to delete licenses. When the valid system license has expired, only the user SAP* can log on to the system. in this case, it would be dangerous to delete a license.
This is why the user SAP* is never allowed to delete a license."
Anybody can assist me with the license renewal please ?!

Testing application in Nokia 6600

Exactly we are developing a mail-client. The whole application works fine in Nokia 60 series emulator. But some problem is coming while testing it in real device.
The problems are,
-> when a folder become empty after deletion of the messages it should come back to the main canvas(containing the folder options). Control is coming back without displaying the contents of the main canvas.
-> Similarly after a new folder will be created. when navigating for the main
canvas. It is unable to display the contents of the main canvas.

What's a good MIDP 2.0 implementation? Not Nokia 6600!

Hi All,
My company is developing an mobile application that connects to a server over HTTP... Nothing new. But we need the features of MIDP 2.0 and MMAPI because we take photos of items and upload these to the server, as well as some CustomItem for displaying these in a grid-like format.
The only one matching this profile (according to http://jal.sun.com/webapps/device/device?api=61) is the Nokia 6600. So we brought one. Unfortunately, it has a lot of bugs which make us unable to use these features. CustomItems don't display on the screen until they are forced to refresh (by moving over them, etc.) Changing Forms (using setDisplay) causes the app to 'randomly' crash. The ChoiceItem as type POPUP doesn't respond to the change event so they are practicly useless. To work around these we had to make a CustomForm class which recorded the state of the current form & cleared it as a new form for use by another 'screen'. Change the popups into opening another form for selection.
We also had to make the camera capture as a Form item (to prevent changing Displayables and causing random crashes). But the picture about to be taken would only update if you moved the cursor right or left (suprisingly up & down didn't do anything).
In the end it basically became unusable because of all these changes & work-a-rounds just to avoid the bugs in the implementation. Nokia weren't of much help either!
I really like the MIDP 2.0 profile, Sun's SDK is excellent, and was very quick & easy to get used too. So since a lot of the code already exists in J2ME and our server side is also J2EE, I would like to continue developement in this environment.
So I guess the purpose of writing this message is two-fold... 1) If you are thinking of serious MIDP 2.0 developement, don't use the 6600 and 2) Can anyone please tell me if there is a decent implementation of MIDP 2.0 & MMAPI out on the market? We really need to know as we don't want to go to other alternatives (like Microsoft) but we will if there are no other choices....

In fact I am asking questions, currently I want to do the same thing as you i.e. uploading and downloading medias files to and from a Server, therefore my questions are:
-Can You access the default media files folders (Image, sounds and videos) ?
-Is it in these folders that you store the downloaded media files ? or are you obliged to store them elsewhere (RMS in particular ).
I am currently using Symbian C++ as developing langage but if I could move to Java It would be great because It's too hard to master symbian C++ (every thing is a nightmare...).

Problem in getting my free navigation license

I have bought a new E71 from the UAE and am using it in Egypt...am facing a problem with getting my free 3 month navigation license code...I wonder how i get it noticed that the gps is working as well and the navigation was working until i restored the factory settings..after i restored the factory settings the gps is working but the map is not rotating when i take any turn , the red point is moving with me while i am driving but when i take a turn i have to rotate the phone itself to be going on the right direction .. i wonder how to fix this problem ?
And what about my free 3 month of navigation ? When i update the license it shows that i have only 88 days.. This means that my license is working but in fact it is not!

Like I said earlier, there is no way to change this setting in the latest version of Nokia Maps. Up is always North when not navigating. Hence, if you drive South, the red dot will move downwards on your screen. It will only show direction of travel as North when you are in Navigation mode.
Did you restore factory settings or did you update your firmware recently?

Drive & Walk Europe navigation license

I have bought Drive Europe license for my Nokia E51, then I updated the firmware and now my personal license code (12 digits), which I received on email, not working - "this license code is not valid".
I tried to update through maps-> extras-> my licenses, there are no licenses, if I go to Extras-> Drive & Walk is no products available

E66, Navigation License not found

Hy, I have bought E66 nokia business phone. But the free 3 months License doesnt seem to work. I have tried talking to the store i bought from, but he declines any knowledge about the software. Then i gave it to the dealers and they returned it by updating the software and the Navigation still does not work. The toll free help line people have no clue and are sending me back to the service centre.
Anyone in here know how to activate the free 3 months navigation license? Any E66 users please help.

Have you checked you sales package. The box will state whether you have the 3 months navigation upgrade. Not all sales packages come with free navigation license.
If you do have it:
Step 1:
Start the Nokia maps application > Options> Extras> My licenses> Update
If that does not work
Step 2:
Nokia Maps> options> Extras> Options> Enter License Code
OR
Nokia Maps> options> Extras> Drive and Walk > Accept terms> Download > Select yes to connect> Select region> Enter License Code
Check the sales package for a voucher with a 12 digit code
If that does not work
Step 3:
Try updating the Nokia maps application from www.nokia.com/maps and try Step 1 and/or Step 2
If it still does not work you may try to upgrade/reinstall the software on your phone using the Nokia Software Updater (www.nokia.com/softwareupdate - NSU) and try Steps 1, 2 and 3
* Remember to make backups with Nokia PC suite before upgrading or reinstalling

it is not very likely that it is a virus as you would have to allow it on your handset say by accepting bluetooth files from people you don't know or using cracked apps. did you update your firmware to the latest one possible? perhaps try this and see if it solves this issue. if not the only thing for you left to do is to go to nokia care and have them have a look at your phone.

turned on sensor in phone settings, but when i touch the PHONE it does not work.

As long as your Sensor Settings are On within Menu, Settings, Phone, Sensor Settings then you just need to do the following -
Tapping
The tap function allows you to quickly
mute and reject calls and alarm tones, and
to display a clock just by double-tapping
the back or front of the phone when the
slide is closed.
Select Menu > Settings > Phone >
Sensor settings to activate the tap
function and vibration feedback.
Mute calls or alarms
Double-tap the phone.
Reject a call or snooze an alarm after
muting it
Double-tap the phone again.
Display the clock
Double-tap the phone.
(If you have missed calls or received new
messages, you must view them before you
can see the clock.)
Simply, if you double tap the screen when the slide is closed and you can see the clock appear then it is working.

Caller ID not working with Nokia 6600?

I have a T-Mobile (US) Nokia 6600, and I can't seem to get address book to display incoming SMS or the caller ID of incoming calls. I've successfully paired the phone via bluetooth, and I can make address book dial the phone and send an sms. I can sync via iSync, use my phone as a modem, etc. etc.
But regardless of what settings I tweak, I can't seem to get Address Book to show a bezel of any kind on incoming calls - not even an 'Unknown Caller' message! Am I missing something obvious? Third party apps like BluePhoneElite work just fine, so I'm pretty sure it's something wrong with Address Book...

The Caller ID issue was due to an outage. It should be resolved anytime soon. Can yu log out and log back in. Go to app settings and in notifications and turn CAller ID off and on.
